Findings: The analysis shows that teal management – based on self-organization – may prove to be an opportunity for companies to adapt to changing circumstances. The teal organization concept is a true revolution in modern management, as it rejects all systems and previously immutable rules of the business world. The subject requires further empirical research. Purpose: The article is a review aimed at presenting the concept of and available knowledge on teal organizations and at indicating further research objectives. Methodology: Research methods employed in the study included a systematic review of the literature, along with its critical analysis and logical deduction. Research limitations: Limitations apply to both the concept of teal organizations itself and the literature review. Since the teal organization concept was established in 2015, there is a lack of reviews and scientific studies or in-depth empirical research on this topic. Thus, the articles included in the review do not exhaust the issue. Implications: The issues discussed in the article require further scientific research, primarily empirical. The said research should cover various aspects, such as building a culture of trust and self-organization, leadership (3.0), management through values, and new management methods. Value: This is the first publication in this field that falls within this research gap. This study constitutes a significant contribution to the development of research on the concept of teal organizations.

The article discusses the topic of designing the optimal distribution of workstations within a production plant. A review focused on publications on this subject in the Scopus database, covering the years 1975–2017. The article presents a facility layout problem and basic principles of optimisation methods for the distribution of workstations within the factory. The author proposes a methodology for designing the optimal distribution of workstations using available optimisation methods and computer simulation. Also, directions for further research are indicated.

Although the second half of the 20th century is the period of development of economic geography in Poland, in the first post-war decades geography of construction did not function as a separate geographical subdivision. More significant development of spatial research in this field was brought about a quarter of a century ago. In the article devoted to the problems of geography of construction in Poland, the subject scope, main directions of research and the achievements of this sub-discipline are discussed. Geography of construction is a branch of economic geography, which examines spatial aspects of construction and assembly ‘production’, with special attention to spatial organisation of investment processes, as well as conditions and effects of location and spatial structure of construction investments. The literature review allows for isolating the main directions, among which the following can be listed: conditions for the development of construction of different functions, also in the context of the accompanying phenomena (e.g. in the social sphere), location factors and effects of construction investments, as well as research devoted to the spatial structure of construction projects and their links with geographical environment. Research topics of geography of construction are part of the spatial processes within the interests of other geographic sub-disciplines, as well as of related social, economic and even technical disciplines. The achievements of Polish geography of construction of the last quarter of a century are important from the point of view of a better recognition of the conditions and course of the socio-economic transformation in Poland in different contexts and different spatial scales.

Purpose: The dynamic economic changes in recent years have made the principles of sustainable development gain more and more importance and there is a great need to maintain a balance in the social, environmental, and economic dimensions. This has also been observed in project management, whereby the concept of sustainable project management plays an important role in both practice and science. In recent years, there has been a significant increase in scientific publications on the concept of sustainable project management. The article presents the assumptions of sustainability in a project and the identification of research directions in this area. The study aims to present the results of the literature review and answer the two research questions: which research areas related to sustainable project management dominate the literature and what are the further research directions in the field of sustainable project management? Design/methodology/approach: The study was conducted based on a literature review in the field of sustainable project management and sustainability in project management. Scientific articles indexed in the Scopus database, published before 2022, were used. A keyword analysis was carried out, on the basis of which subject areas related to sustainable project management were distinguished, and the most cited articles were reviewed to extract recommendations for the directions of future research. Findings: The literature review, taking into account sustainable project management, show that project lifecycle, project success, and risk management are dominated research topic in the articles. Further research directions suggested in the literature indicate, inter alia, to extend the scope of research on sustainable project management to different countries and sectors. Originality/value: The literature review is based on the most recent publications. Moreover, in addition to the traditional literature review, keywords were analyzed and other research directions were analyzed, which was rarely seen in publications that focused mainly on the synthesis of conclusions.

Introduction/background: The last few years have seen an increase in the number of publications that address research questions on public consultations in public governance. However, knowledge on this subject is dispersed, and there is a need for its systematisation. Aim of the paper: This paper aims to identify current and emerging research on public consultations in public governance. Materials and methods: This goal was achieved by conducting the Systematic Literature Review. Results and conclusions: The bibliometric analysis carried out has identified four main thematic clusters around which this research is conducted. These relate to: 1. issues directly related to the conduct of public consultations; 2. issues related to deliberative democracy and accompanying matters; 3. issues related to community involvement in public consultations processes; and 4. issues related to the influence of stakeholders and interest groups on the process of public consultations implementation. In addition, this publication has mapped thematic groups that are drivers for further research on public consultations (issues related to public participation in terms of cultural risk theory and public participation in Chinese version of authoritative deliberation) and niche topics for further development (issues related to stakeholders and interest groups in participatory public policy making).

This article explores the current state of research in hydrogeology and the future challenges of fundamental and applied hydrogeology. A bibliometric analysis was conducted in the first part of the paper in order to evaluate groundwater research. It was based on papers published in Hydrogeology Journal and Journal of Hydrology in the period 2010–2014. This two journals were chosen arbitrary as most representatives for groundwater research for many reasons. The first journal published the largest number of articles and the second one has the highest percentage of publications related to groundwater research. Another reason was the field of research presented in this two journals: regional hydrogeology and methods. The bibliometric analysis summarizes output and research hotspots in groundwater studies. A keywords analysis showed that regional hydrogeology, methods and research techniques, isotopes and tracers and hydrogeochemistry were the main research areas in the study period. Then the citation data were used form these two journals and from the period 2001–2015 to assess the main areas of research. This analysis showed that methods of studies, recharge, ground water/surfaced water interaction and hydrogeochemistry were the main research areas in the studied period. The second part of this paper presents the main challenges for hydrogeology and it is based on many papers published in the period of last ten years. One of the greatest challenges in hydrogeology is fundamental science on regional scale .The demand is in determining universal theory on dominant processes on the regional scale, mainly with respect to groundwater recharge, groundwater/surface water interaction and transport processes. Finally the regional scale research imply interdisciplinary research.

The article aims to identify scientific research areas within which the subject matter of binge drinking in relation to services is addressed, based on bibliometric data analysis characterising scientific publications indexed by the Scopus database. To achieve the aim, authors use different techniques of the bibliometric analysis with the support of the VOSviewer software. Results of the literature review on binge drinking show that harmful binge drinking behaviour is a subject of intervention services, which are undertaken by governmental and non-governmental institutions. As a theoretical contribution of the research part of the paper, it was proposed to qualify five categories containing the issue of binge drinking in relation to services, such as binge drinking consequences, the culture of alcohol consumption, alcohol versus risky sexual behaviours, alcohol intoxication and binge drinking, and the use of other substance among young people.

The aim of the article is to identify research areas that are relevant from the perspective of management in the field of cross-border tourism. The analysis is based on bibliometric information included in the Web of Science and Scopus database. The main task of the analysis is to identify current problems in the field of cross-border tourism management, taking into account regional characteristics as well as forms and content of tourism services. The authors use bibliometric analysis supported by the VOSviewer software. In addition, the case study method is used to identify the most common features and tendencies in the study of cross-border tourism management. A review of the literature in the field shows that the management of tourism services in border regions is currently a new branch of management sciences, which has seen a dynamic growth as evidenced by the number of studies published since the middle of the first decade of the 21st century. Most of them analyse problems of cross-border tourism management in Europe, in the border regions of Germany, the Czech Republic, Spain and Portugal. The objectives of cross-border tourism management in this region are the background for sustainable development, harmonization of relationships at the regional level, concern for the state of the environment. One of the urgent problems is the management of health-related or medical cross-border tourism. A number of issues require more in-depth research, such as the management of transnational tourism services and products at the borders of the EU; European and world trends in the development of the tourism services market in the border regions; and the impact of cross-border tourism on local communities. The article’s contribution consists in providing a list of current problems in the study of cross-border tourism management and identifying research gaps in this field.

Jani Christou was a major Greek composer, whose unusual, yet promising career was brought to an end after his untimely death in 1970 at the age of 44. His challenging and speculative output has intrigued generation of young music scholars; however, J. Christou’s work remains imperfectly and only patchily known and understood, especially outside Greece. This is partly because of the interdisciplinary nature of his late works which reduces the possibility of potential researchers who will academically establish J. Christou’s distinguished output. The aim of the present paper is to present and analyse parts of Strychnine Lady, a work composed in 1967 in order to propose research directions in an effort to confi rm J. Christou’s posthumous reputation.

The aim of the article is to present the relationship between cyberpsychology and media studies in the perspective of common research fields, main concepts and paradigms as well as analysis methods of selected phenomena related to the media sphere and cyberculture. Cyberpsychology is described in the article as a transdiscipline in the context of (new) media studies and media cultural studies. It has been also presented as a sub-discipline of media psychology and communication. Cyberpsychology represents “media-user based approaches”, because research on main types of media is conducted in relation to their impact on human behaviour. The features of new media, the transition to the interactive network media paradigm and immersive technological environments in the 1980s and 1990s require the use of psychological methods by media experts. Cyberpsychologists, on the other hand, are obliged to use media-based approaches in their research. Within the framework of cyberpsychology focused on the study of digital media user, the mainstream of theoretical and applied research has been distinguished. Its links with other sub-disciplines of psychology and the relevant direction of contemporary research on digital media and cyberculture 3.0 have been indicated.

Współczesne duże miasta na całym świecie charakteryzują się dużą i wciąż rosnącą intensywnością zabudowy. Jest to tendencja utrwalona, którą pogłębia idea „miasta zwartego” jako rozwiązania problemu nadmiernego rozrastania terytorialnego i rozpraszania się struktury terenów miejskich. Jednocześnie realną potrzebą współczesnych miast jest poprawa jakości ich środowiska (eliminacja zanieczyszczeń, minimalizacja zjawiska miejskiej wyspa ciepła, ochrona naturalnych czynników środowiska itp.) oraz minimalizacja negatywnego oddziaływania miast na środowisko w ogólnym wymiarze (zmniejszenie energochłonności, zużycia surowców, redukcja opadów itp.).. Z jednej strony mamy więc do czynienia z wyjątkowymi trudnościami sytuacyjnymi budynków miejskich (np. ograniczenia dostępu promieniowania słonecznego, niska jakość powietrza, brak otwartych przestrzeni oraz zieleni), a z drugiej z wyzwaniami, które należy im stawiać (np. energooszczędność, wysoka jakość środowiska wnętrz, odpowiedzialne podejście do gospodarki materiałowej). Celem tego artykułu jest przybliżenie tych uwarunkowań, wskazanie najistotniejszych problemów do rozwiązania, a także grup rozwiązań technologicznych, które mogą okazać się szczególnie pomocne w tym zakresie. Wnioski dotyczą wytyczenia dalszych kierunków rozwoju technologii prośrodowiskowych dedykowanych budynkom lokalizowanym w dużych miastach, w strefach o dużej intensywności zabudowy. Odniesiono się do uwarunkowań klimatu umiarkowanego, charakterystycznego dla miast środkowoeuropejskich.
Large modern cities all over the world are characterised by large and ever-increasing development intensity. This fixed tendency is intensified by the idea of a „compact city” that emerged as a solution to the problems posed by excessive territorial expansion of cities and urban sprawl. At the same time, improvement in quality of urban environment (that is elimination of pollution, minimisation of the urban heat island phenomenon, protection of natural environmental factors, etc.), as well as minimisation of negative impact of cities on the environment as such (by reducing energy consumption, raw material consumption and reduction in the amount of precipitation) appears as the real need of modern cities. On the one hand, we are dealing with eminent situational difficulties of urban buildings (such as limited access to sunlight, poor air quality, lack of open space and greenery). On the other hand, the challenges these buildings face (such as energy efficiency, high quality of interior environment and responsible approach to material management) need to be taken into consideration. The purpose of the following article is to approximate the above determinants, to identify the most vital issues to be solved, as well as to determine such groups of technological solutions that may prove particularly helpful in this regard. The conclusions concern the designation of future directions for development of pro-environment technologies dedicated to buildings that are located in large cities, especially in highly-condensed areas. Temperate climate, typical for cities situated in Central Europe, was referred to in the study.

Projects popularizing the achievements of Professor Adolf Dygacz, carried out on the occasion of the digitization of the archives of the ethnomusicologist at the Museum “Upper Silesian Ethnographic Park in Chorzów”, seem to be of fundamental importance for the maintenance and preservation of the local musical heritage in the era of current changes and uncertain fate of vanishing traditions. One of such undertakings was the temporary biographical and musical exhibition „Życie jako pieśń. Z teki profesora Adolfa Dygacza” (Eng. “Life as a Song. From the Portfolio of Professor Adolf Dygacz”). Interesting ethnomusicological materials by Adolf Dygacz, pioneering at the time, collected by him under the influence of his interest in the mining and metallurgical culture, still have many unexplored elements. This text highlights some of them – those that are not emphasized too often when Adolf Dygacz output is being discussed. And they are certainly worth attention and further research.
Projekty popularyzujące dorobek profesora Adolfa Dygacza, realizowane przy okazji digitalizacji archiwaliów etnomuzykologa w Muzeum „Górnośląski Park Etnograficzny w Chorzowie”, wydają się mieć fundamentalne znaczenie dla zachowania i utrwalania lokalnego dziedzictwa muzycznego w dobie obecnych przemian i niepewnych losów zanikających już tradycji. Jednym z takich przedsięwzięć była biograficzno-muzyczna wystawa czasowa „Życie jako pieśń. Z teki profesora Adolfa Dygacza”. Ciekawe materiały etnomuzykologiczne Adolfa Dygacza, wówczas pionierskie, zebrane przez niego pod wpływem zainteresowania kulturą górniczo-hutniczą, wciąż mają wiele niezbadanych „białych plam”.
