Opis:
The gas turbine is considered to be a very complex piece of machinery because of both its static structure and the dynamic behavior that results from the occurrence of vibration phenomena. It is required to adopt monitoring and diagnostic procedures for the identification and localization of vibration flaws in order to ensure the appropriate operation of large rotating equipment such as gas turbines. This is necessary in order to avoid catastrophic failures and deterioration and to ensure that proper operation occurs. Utilizing an approach that is based on spectrum analysis, the purpose of this study is to provide a model for the monitoring and diagnosis of vibrations in a GE MS3002 gas turbine and its driven centrifugal compressor. This will be done by utilizing the technique. Following that, the collection of vibration measurements for a model of the centrifugal compressor served as a suggestion for an additional method. This method is based on the neuro-fuzzy approach type ANFIS, and it aims to create an equivalent system that is able to make decisions without consulting a human being for the purpose of detecting vibratory defects. In spite of the fact that the compressor that was investigated has flaws, this procedure produced satisfactory results.

The prediction of real estate prices is a popular problem in the field of machine learning and often demonstrated in literature. In contrast to other approaches, which regularly focus on the US market, this paper investigates the biggest, German real estate dataset, with more than 1.5 million unique samples and more than 20 features. In this paper we implement and compare different machine learning models in respect to performance and interpretability to give insight in the most important properties, which contribute to the sale price. Our experiments suggest that the prediction of sale prices in a realworld scenario is achievable yet limited by the quality of data rather than quantity. The results show promising prediction scores but are also heavily dependent on the location, which leaves room for further evaluation.

Opis:
Aim: In the conducted research, profiles of seasonality in the housing market were determined, which provided an opportunity to answer two fundamental questions: what is the nature of harmonic variation in the seasonality and periodicity of the studied components of the construction process? what parameters of the ARIMA model optimally describe the construction market? Methodology: In the conducted research, using the X13-ARIMA-SEATS model, seasonal decomposition was carried out in the various stages of the housing construction process. Results: The research process conducted to identify seasonal fluctuations in the housing construction market showed that harmonic fluctuation profiles can be identified on an annual basis. An analysis of seasonal fluctuations was carried out for each of the three stages of the housing construction process, while also checking how these profiles function for Poland in general, and for individual investors, and for those building apartments for sale or to rent. The study showed that the market for real estate development activity differs in its seasonal characteristics from that of individual investors. Implications and recommendations: The conclusions obtained from the research can provide support in the decision-making process, both from a macro and microeconomic perspective. Parameterisation of the occurring fluctuations, and taking them into account in the process of developing a forecast can provide decision-making rationale in the implementation of macroprudential and financial stability policies Originality/Value: A novelty is in the demonstration that the residential real estate market in Poland shows different seasonal parameters, divided into the market of individual investors and investors who build apartments for sale or rent.
Cel: W przeprowadzonych badaniach wyznaczono profile sezonowości na rynku mieszkaniowym, co dało możliwość odpowiedzi na dwa zasadnicze pytania: Jaki charakter ma harmoniczna zmienność sezonowości i okresowości badanych składowych procesu budowlanego? Jakie parametry modelu ARIMA optymalnie opisują rynek budowlany? Metodyka: W przeprowadzonych badaniach, wykorzystując model X13-ARIMA-SEATS, dokonano dekompozycji sezonowej w poszczególnych etapach procesu budownictwa mieszkaniowego. Implikacje i rekomendacje: Wnioski uzyskane z badań mogą stanowić wsparcie w procesie podejmowania decyzji z perspektywy zarówno makro-, jak i mikroekonomicznej.

Effective management of land resources requires implementing suitable policies and tools enabling a sustainable approach towards the improvement of the structure of farms, the acquisition of agricultural properties, their subdivision, as well as other procedures concerning the use and turnover of agricultural land. Proper analytical basis for managerial decisions includes procedures concerning estimation of land value.. The estimation of agricultural real estate in Poland generally takes place using a comparative approach, however, an alternative to the valuation process is allowed - the land valuation index method, which falls under the mixed approach. The purpose of the following paper is to verify the effectiveness of the land valuation index method in the context of the changing prices of agricultural real estates in Poland over the years. Moreover, there is widespread recognition that the estimation indices depend on the data of the real estate cadastre, as well as on the location of the real estate differentiated by its affiliation to a given tax district. As emhasised in the literature, the validity of the cadastral data is sometimes problematic and the state disclosed in the cadastre very often differs from the actual state. For the purposes of the following publication, examples of situations occurring in practice and affecting the reliability of the cadastral data on the basis of which the determination of the value of real estate is carried out were also indicated.

Bridge passing and passing waterway locks are two of the most challenging phases for inland vessel navigation. In order to be able to automate these critical phases very precise and reliable position, navigation and timing (PNT) information are required. Here, the application of code-based positioning using signals of Global Navigation Satellite Systems (GNSS) is not sufficient anymore and phase-based positioning needs to be applied. Due to the larger coverage area and the reduction of the amount of correction data Precise Point Positioning (PPP) has significant advantages compared to the established Real Time Kinematic (RTK) positioning. PPP is seen as the key enabler for highly automatic driving for both road and inland waterway transport. This paper gives an overview of the current status of the developments of the PPP algorithm, which should finally be applied in advanced driver assistant functions. For the final application State Space Representation (SSR) correction data from SAPOS (Satellitenpositionierungsdienst der deutschen Landesvermessung) will be used, which will be transmitted over VDES (VHF Data Exchange System), the next generation AIS.

More than half of the incidents reported to EMSA relate to nautical events such as collision, groundings and contacts. Knowledge of accurate and high-integrity positioning is therefore not only a need for future automated shipping but a base for today’s safe navigation. Examples on accidents include Ever Given in the Suez Canal and HNoMS Helge Ingstad in Norway. A Network-RTK (NRTK) service can be used as an augmentation technique to improve performance of shipborne GNSS receivers for future positioning of manned and unmanned vessels in restricted areas, such as port areas, fairways, and inland water ways. NRTK service providers generate RTK corrections based on the observations of networks of GNSS reference stations which enables the users to determine their position with centimeter accuracy in real-time using a shipborne GNSS receiver. Selection of appropriate communication channels for dissemination of NRTK corrections data is the key to a secure positioning (localization) service. In PrePare-Ships project, the modern maritime communication system VDES (VHF Data Exchange System) is proposed to distribute SWEPOS (NRTK in Sweden) correction data to shipborne positioning modules. VDES is a very reliable technique and it is compatible with most onboard functionalities. In order to minimize the impact on the overall VDES data capacity in a local area, NRTK correction data shall only occupy a single VDES slot with a net capacity of 650 bytes. Update rates may vary but are preferably at 1Hz. However, NRTK correction data size changes instantly, depending on the number of visible GNSS satellites, and the data rate can therefore sometimes reach in excess of 1000 byte/s. In this study, a smart technique is proposed to reduce size of NRTK correction data to instantly adapt with the VDES requirements by choosing a combination of specific signals, satellites or even constellations such that the data rate is not more than 650 byte/s, and at the same time it achieves optimal positioning performance with the accuracy required by the PrePare-Ships project application.

In the last decade, the oil industry has transitioned from primarily drilling vertical wells to a majority of extended reach complex horizontal wells with help of geosteering techniques for better reservoir and production efficiencies. The overall objective of geosteering and well placement has helped to maximize reservoir contact by the keeping well trajectory in the pay zone with the help of quality real-time data, especially in these uncertain times of pandemic due to COVID-19. This paper illustrates the immense impact of real-time data feeds (special logging tools/images) at operation centers with the full remote expert support of multidisciplinary teams. The proper data communication mechanism is also helpful to share the information across asset teams in a timely manner to drill complex wells remotely. To achieve the desired geosteering objectives, experts monitor and evaluate the real-time data in a landing well accurately in the pay horizon by designing the well path which considers geological variables like (reservoir architecture, permeability and porosity distribution, and fluid contacts) which further helps update the reservoir models in real-time based on the latest subsurface information for better reservoir management and timely decision making.

Opis:
The aim of the study is a quantitative analysis of revisions conducted by means of a new, real-time macroeconomic dataset for Poland, designed on the basis of the Statistical bulletin (Biuletyn statystyczny) published by Statistics Poland, covering the period from as early as 1995 until 2017. Polish data have positively verified a number of hypotheses concerning the impact of data revisions on the modelling process. Procedures assessing the properties of time series can yield widely discrepant results, depending on the extent to which the applied data have been revised. A comparison of the fitted ARIMA models for series of initial and final data demonstrates that the fitted models are similar for the majority of variables. In the cases where the form of the model is identical for both series, the coefficients retain their scale and sign. Most differences between coefficients result from a different structure of the fitted model, which causes differ-ences in the autoregressive structure and can have a considerable impact on the ex ante infer-ence. A prognostic experiment confirmed these observations. For a large number of variables, the total impact of revisions on the forecasting process exceeds 10%. Extreme cases, where the impact goes beyond 100%, or situations where data have a direct impact on the forecast sign, are also relatively frequent. Taking these results into account by forecasters could significantly improve the quality of their predictions. The forecast horizon has a minor impact on these conclusions. The article is a continuation of the author's work from 2017.
Potwierdza to eksperyment prognostyczny.

Opis:
In this paper, the problem of data bundling from different channels to determine the current location of a military aircraft belonging to the platform navigation system was investigated. The calculation of the data bundling coefficients by the least-squares method is proposed based on the data related to loads, orientation angles and speed recorded in the black box during the flight. Data from different channels (speed channel, load channel and GPS channel) are converted to like quantities (expressed as speed). The bundling coefficients (weight coefficients) of the speed and load channels data are calculated based on the GPS data of the flight start time (approximately 30-60 seconds of flight). Using these weight coefficients, the speed and load channels data are bundled, and the trajectory of the aircraft over the entire duration of the flight is plotted. This approach allows obtaining a satisfactory flight path in real-time for the subsequent flight period.

In a world where every day we produce 2.5 quintillion bytes of data, sentiment analysis has been a key for making sense of that data. However, to process huge text data in real-time requires building a data processing pipeline in order to minimize the latency to process data streams. In this paper, we explain and evaluate our proposed real-time customer’ sentiment analysis pipeline on the Moroccan banking sector through data from the web and social network using open-source big data tools such as data ingestion using Apache Kafka, In-memory data processing using Apache Spark, Apache HBase for storing tweets and the satisfaction indicator, and ElasticSearch and Kibana for visualization then NodeJS for building a web application. The performance evaluation of Naïve Bayesian model show that for French Tweets the accuracy has reached 76.19% while for English Tweets the result was unsatisfactory and the resulting accuracy is 56%. To remedy this problem, we used the Stanford core NLP which, for English Tweets, reaches a precision of 80.7%.

Opis:
The purpose of this empirical study is to find the relationship between economic growth and foreign direct investment (FDI) in the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) and Central and Eastern European Countries (CEECs) using endogenous technological change model. First, we combine the CIS and CEECs into one group to test our hypothesis, and then we test each group separately to account for heterogeneity and draw a conclusion whether FDI is indeed a driving force of the economy. Panel data have been used from 2003 to 2014 and different panel estimation methods have been applied. Additionally, we use the Generalized Method of Moments (GMM) panel estimator to control for endogeneity problem. The present study finds that FDI is an important factor explaining economic growth in the pooled group and CEECs, although it is not significant in the case of CIS.
