Opis:
Celem artykułu jest nakreślenie obrazu polskiego katolika. Zawarte w artykule przemyślenia i tezy traktować należy raczej jako głos w dyskusji dotyczącej religijności współczesnych Polaków. Prezentowane wyniki badań Centrum Badań Opinii Społecznej przeprowadzone na próbie ogólnopolskiej skonfrontowane zostały z wynikami badań prowadzonych wśród mieszkańców pewnej wsi z województwa łódzkiego. W artykule, odwołując się do zaproponowanej przez Józefa Chałasińskiego w latach 30. XX wieku koncepcji osobowości ówczesnych Polaków, zastanowimy się czy i jak ewoluowała postawa „Polaka-katolika” oraz czy pojawiły się nowe formy religijności Polaków pozwalające określić wzór osobowości współczesnego człowieka religijnego. W artykule zaproponowano wyróżnienie kilku takich typów osobowości jak na przykład typ fanatyczny, czy fasadowy.
The aim of this article is to raise discussion about the image of Polish Catholic. In the article thoughts and theses should be seen rather as a voice in the discussion of contem- porary religious Poles. The research results presented Public Opinion Research Center (CBOS) conducted on a nationwide sample were confronted with the results of research conducted among the resi- dents of a village of the Lodz region. The article, referring to the proposed by Józef Chałasiński in the 30s of the twentieth century, the concept of personality of contemporary Poles, will consider whether and how evolved attitude “Polish-Catholic” and that new forms of religiosity of Poles to determine a pattern personality of the modern religious man. This paper proposes a distinction few personality types such as, for example, the type of fanatical, or facade.

Artykuł omawia działania interakcyjne podejmowane w pracy zawodowej przez przedstawicieli handlowych w kontekście ich relacji z klientem (nabywcą, kontrahentem). Opisane zostały działania podejmowane przez handlowców w trakcie negocjacji i współpracy z klientem. Jednocześnie wskazano na różnice w interakcji z kontrahentem podczas pandemii COVID-19. Opisano pracę emocjonalną handlowców, jaka jest przez nich wykonywana w trakcie negocjacji i transakcji z nabywcą. Wskazano na konieczność stosowania płytkiej pracy emocjonalnej w obecnej sytuacji pandemicznej. Stan emocjonalny przedstawiciela handlowego „widoczny” ma być w głosie pracownika. Klient w związku z przeniesieniem interakcji z bezpośredniej na pośrednią, telefoniczną, ma „usłyszeć uśmiech” pracownika. Badani handlowcy wskazywali na mniejszą efektywność ich pracy oraz słabszą motywację. Całość rozważań oparta została na badaniach prowadzonych przez wiele lat przez autorkę artykułu w grupie przedstawicieli handlowych oraz na badaniach prowadzonych w 2021 roku przez Paulinę Skierę w ramach prowadzonego przez autorkę seminarium licencjackiego. Badania miały charakter badań jakościowych z zastosowaniem m.in. wywiadów swobodnych oraz obserwacji.
The article discusses the interactive activities undertaken in their professional work by sales representatives in the context of their relationship with the customer (buyer, contractor). Actions taken by traders during negotiations and cooperation with the client are described. At the same time, differences in interaction with the contractor during the COVID-19 pandemic were indicated. The emotional work of traders that is performed by them during negotiations and transactions with the buyer is described. The necessity to use shallow emotional work in the current pandemic situation was indicated. The emotional state of the sales representative should be “visible” in the voice of the employee. Due to the transfer of interaction from direct to indirect, by telephone, the client is to “hear the smile” of the employee. The interlocutors indicated lower effectiveness of their work and lower motivation to work. All considerations were based on research conducted for many years by the author of the article in the group of sales representatives and on research conducted in 2021 by Paulina Skiera as part of the bachelor’s seminar conducted by the author. The research was qualitative research with the use of, inter alia, unstructured interviews and observations.

Vulcanised rubber as a complex system is made from the basic component being virgin rubber and various components amounting to 10-15 per cent or even more. The material gains its most valuable properties in the final phase of processing i.e. vulcanisation. In mechanical as well as automotive engineering it is important for vulcanised rubber to be resistant to grease, oil and fuel in high operating temperatures. Being one of the very valuable isolation materials, vulcanised rubber is also characterized by dielectric and elastic properties as well as distinguished resistance to operating conditions (high/low temperature, weather conditions). All the above mentioned applications of vulcanised rubbers are also found in the shipyard industry. Their use is also very much predicated on the properties such as: ability to attenuate mechanical vibrations, high elasticity, considerable elastic deformability under static and dynamic loads, low permeability of water and gas, resistance to various chemicals, and other. The purpose of this article was to determine the hardness of vulcanised rubber samples obtained from various places on the “Izabel” inland barge. The scope of the study covered sampling and preparing the samples for testing (i.e. cleaning and degreasing the samples). Then, the hardness of the samples was measured using the Shore hardness test. The first part of the article presents the general concept of vulcanised rubber, its main components, properties, applications, and ageing. A calendar of fungal spore seasons for Szczecin during 2013 was established using a 7-day volumetric Lanzoni trap. Thirty-five spore taxa were identified. The dominant spore types detected were Cladosporium (66%), Didymella (29%), Alternaria (1.67%), and Leptosphaeria type (1.21%). The spores were present throughout the study year. However, there was a wide daily fluctuation in the concentration values with a tendency towards an increase during the summer months. Seasonally, the spore levels of Cladosporium, Alternaria, and Leptosphaeria type peaked in summer (June–September), while those of Didymella mainly in July. Most of the other spore types had the highest concentrations in summer but occurred in the air from spring to late fall.
Kalendarz sezonu zarodnikowania dla miasta Szczecin (2013) został opracowany przy wykorzystaniu aparatu wolumetrycznego Lanzoni 2000. W wykazie uwzględniono 35 zidentyfikowanych taksonów, z czego dominującymi rodzajami były Cladosporium (66%), Didymella (26%), Alternaria (1.67%) i Leptosphaeria (1.21%). Zarodniki były obecne w powietrzu przez cały rok badań, ale wyraźne zwiększenie ich stężenie notowano w czasie miesięcy letnich. Sezonowo, liczebność Cladosporium, Alternaria i Leptosphaeria osiągnęła najwyższą wartość w lecie i na początku jesieni (czerwiec–wrzesień) a Didymella głównie w lipcu. Dla większości pozostałych rodzajów najwyższe stężenia zaobserwowano latem, ale zarodniki występowały w powietrzu od wiosny (marzec) do późnej jesieni (listopad).

The article is an interpretation study of two lyric poems by Adam Mickiewicz (Drzewo and [Wsłuchać się w szum wód głuchy...], 1842). It grows out of an analysis of a lost manuscript and the history of the above-mentioned poems’ editions (including commentaries), as well as the notebook romanticism [romantyzm brulionowy] concept developed by the author. This concept encapsulates the inedita and creates a separate sphere in the epoch’s literary art and aesthetics.

The contemporary role that higher education institutions play is not limited to educational and scientific research activity. It involves also creating local tourism cultural offer and an offer of spending leisure time for inhabitants and visitors. Therefore the purpose of the article is to describe the activities undertaken by higher education institutions using the example of Krakow. On the basis of the study of source materials it was possible to identify types of enterprise undertaken by higher education institutions, also those involved in cooperation, whose activity depends on academic traditions and potential. As the example of Krakow shows, higher education institutions affect the development of incoming tourism in the three main areas: educational tourism, cultural tourism, and business tourism and MICE industry. They also broaden the offer of spending leisure time in the city directed to the inhabitants, students and tourists. Academic potential influences the function and image of the city in the national and international arena. Thus it seems necessary to include higher education institutions in the development of a local tourism offer and cultural animation of the city life.
Rola, jaką odgrywają współczesne uczelnie wyższe nie ogranicza się jedynie do prowadzenia działalności edukacyjnej i naukowo-badawczej. Polega ona również na tworzeniu lokalnej oferty turystyczno-kulturalnej oraz spędzania czasu wolnego dla mieszkańców i przyjezdnych. Dlatego też celem artykułu jest omówienie działań podejmowanych przez uczelnie wyższe w tym zakresie na przykładzie Krakowa. Na podstawie kwerendy materiałów źródłowych zidentyfikowano rodzaje przedsięwzięć realizowanych przez uczelnie wyższe, również we współpracy z innymi podmiotami, dla których podstawą są tradycje i potencjał akademicki. Jak pokazuje przykład Krakowa, uczelnie wyższe oddziałują na rozwój turystyki przyjazdowej w trzech głównych obszarach: turystyki edukacyjnej, turystyki kulturowej oraz turystyki biznesowej i przemysłu spotkań. Rozszerzają one również ofertę spędzania czasu wolnego w mieście skierowaną do mieszkańców, studentów i turystów. Potencjał akademicki wpływa na funkcje i wizerunek miasta na arenie krajowej i międzynarodowej. Z tego powodu konieczne wydaje się włączanie uczelni wyższych w rozwój lokalnej oferty turystycznej i animację życia kulturalnego miasta.

The aim of the research was to compare the effects of four to quaternary ammonium salts (QAS) with iodine anion: tetramethylammonium iodine [TMA][I], tetraethylammonium iodine [TEA][I], tetrapropylammonium iodine [TEA][I], tetrabutylammonium iodine [TBA][I]. The experiment was carried out on sandy clay loam samples with organic carbon content of 33.82 g·kg⁻¹, and pH in 1 M KCl 7.13. QAS were added to soil at the dosages of: 0, 10, 100, and 1000 mg·kg⁻¹. Activity of dehydrogenases was assayed on days: 1, 14, 35, and 70. Obtained results have shown that the soil treatment with quaternary ammonium salts with iodine anion caused decrease in activity of dehydrogenases. This inhibition increased with increase of QAS dosages, and increase with alkyl chains in cations. Analysis of variance η² indicated, that type of QAS had the biggest impact on formation of activity of dehydrogenases in soil.

Opis:
During the fifty year period of the second half of the 20th century the field of African Art History, as well as the forms of art studies and art exhibitions have changed considerably. This article considers the evolution of the idea of African identity in contemporary arts. I would like to examine the different forms of art representation and interviewing of African fine arts in the last three decades. In order to illustrate the dynamic changes in the European approach to African Art, it is simply enough to recall the famous remarks of Carl Einstein and Roy Sieber on that subject or William Rubin’s controversial exhibition Primitivism in 20th Century Art at the Museum of Modern Art in New York (1984). It seems that the visibly growing practice of engaging curators of African origin in the creation of exhibitions of modern African art, particularly as a strategy to incorporate the voices of those represented, is one of the most important aspects of the “curatorial turn” of the 21st century.
W II połowie XX wieku podejście do historii sztuki afrykańskiej jako dziedziny naukowej jak też formy studiów artystycznych oraz wystaw tejże sztuki znacznie się zmieniły. Celem artykułu jest zobrazowanie ewolucji idei tożsamości współczesnej sztuki afrykańskiej poprzez prezentację sposobów ekspozycji tej sztuki w ciągu ostatnich trzech dekad. Aby pojąć dynamikę zmian w europejskim podejściu do sztuki afrykańskiej, wystarczy przypomnieć słynne uwag Carla Einsteina i Roya Siebera z I połowy XX w. na ten temat lub kontrowersyjną wystawę Williama Rubina w Muzeum Sztuki Nowoczesnej w Nowym Jorku (1984), pt. Primitivism in 20th Century Art. Wydaje się, że obecnie proces przemian w postrzeganiu i prezentowaniu współczesnej sztuki afrykańskiej pogłębia się. Jednocześnie rośnie udział kuratorów pochodzenia afrykańskiego, co pozwala na stworzenie nowej strategii kuratorskiej – prawdziwego „zwrotu kuratorskiego” z początku XXI w., który pozwala odzyskać głos uprzednio jedynie reprezentowanym Afrykanom.

W artykule podjęte są kwestie dotyczące możliwych interpretacji niedokończonego poematu Adama Mickiewicza [Pan Baron] w świetle głównego motywu (tematu) tej pracy, tj. agonu jako sytuacji współzawodnictwa artystów. Drugim tropem badawczym są ujawnione w korespondencji Adama Mickiewicza z Józefem Bogdanem Zaleskim słowa, które mogłyby świadczyć o zainteresowaniu autora Dziadów sztuką poetycką Juliusza Słowackiego. Studium jest próbą interpretacji [Pana Barona] jako utworu opartego na wyrafinowanym koncepcie artystycznym, który sytuuje się w pewnej bliskości do kategorii ironii romantycznej.
The paper presents the possibilities of interpreting an unfinished poem of Adam Mickiewicz, [“Pan Baron”] [“Mr Baron”], in the light of the main theme of this work, which is the agon as a struggle and contest between artists. An important evidence of this competition is a passage from Mickiewicz’s letter to Józef Bogdan Zaleski testifying to Mickiewicz’s interest in the poetic art of Juliusz Słowacki. Consequently, the study is an attempt to interpret [“Mr Baron”] as a piece based on a sophisticated artistic concept that situates itself close to the category of romantic irony.

Climate changes related to the greenhouse gas emissions (GHG) are seen as one of the major threats to sustainable human development. The agricultural sector is responsible for about 13.7% of global greenhouse gas emissions, therefore the action must be undertaken, which would have to reduce the GHG emissions from agriculture and/or adaptation of agricultural production to the new conditions, so that the productivity of the sector, i.e. agriculture, is not diminished. The Climate-Smart Agriculture is a viable alternative. This term should be understood as targeting the agricultural practices to reduce its negative impact on the environment, and consequently also on the climate. Two strategies are used in the process of climate-friendly agriculture management, noting that agricultural practices can mitigate the climate changes (reduction of GHG emissions), or adapting agriculture to the already noticeable changes (development of soil and water quality, sustainable agronomy, animal breeding, or crop rotation).
Zmiany klimatu, związane z emisją gazów cieplarnianych (GHG), są postrzegane jako jedno z najważniejszych zagrożeń dla zrównoważonego rozwoju ludzkości. Sektor rolny odpowiedzialny jest za około 13,7 % światowej emisji gazów cieplarnianych, dlatego należy podjąć działania, które miałyby na celu ograniczenie emisji GHG z rolnictwa i/lub dostosowanie produkcji rolniczej do nowych warunków, tak aby produktywność sektora, jakim jest rolnictwo nie zmniejszała się. Realną alternatywę stanowi rolnictwo przyjazne klimatowi (Climate-Smart Agriculture). Przez to pojęcie rozumie się ukierunkowanie praktyk rolniczych na zmniejszenie jego negatywnego wpływu na środowisko, a w konsekwencji także na klimat. W sposobie zarządzania rolnictwa przyjaznego klimatowi wykorzystuje się dwie strategie działania, zauważając, że praktyki rolnicze mogą łagodzić zmiany klimatu (zmniejszenie emisji GHG), lub dostosować rolnictwo do już zauważalnych zmian (kształtowanie jakości gleb i wód, zrównoważona agrotechnika i hodowla zwierząt czy zmianowanie upraw).

Introduction and objective. Drinking alcohol by adolescents and children poses a risk of long-term psychological and sociological consequences, often leading to addiction in adulthood. A steady increase in the number of young people reaching for alcohol is worrying. The study analyzes the age and gender of the children, concentration of alcohol in the blood, depending on the origin of the youth (urban or rural). Material and method. The study was a retrospective analysis of 402 patients hospitalized due to alcohol intoxication in the Department of Paediatrics at Medical University in Lublin, Poland between 2004 – 2013. Results. During the study period a continuous increase in admissions of patients after alcohol consumption was observed: from 27 children in 2004 to 53 in 2012 and 2013. The youngest patient hospitalized after drinking was 7.6 years old and came from the rural environment, the oldest 18 years old and came from the urban environment. In 2004 – 2007, boys dominated among children intoxicated with alcohol; since 2008, a slight prevalence of girls has been observed, especially in the urban environment. Among patients coming from the country, boys always predominated. In the study period there was noted a similar number of children consuming alcohol from rural and urban environments. Conclusions. The results suggest the need to introduce appropriate educational programmes in schools to prevent the consumption of alcohol at a young age.

The revision of the endemic New Caledonian genus Andrefrancia Solem, 1960 is based on 1,167 specimens from 108 localities (collection Paris Museum of Natural History). Seventeen earlier described species are revised, and 33 new species are described; data on further six species, absent from the Paris collection but included in Andrefrancia, are cited. Identification keys, synonymy, conchological and anatomical descriptions and figures, as well as distribution maps are provided. Phylogeny reconstruction used 21 conchological characters with 64 character states, and 26 characters of the reproductive system with 62 character states. The characters were polarised based on out-group comparison (out-groups: Charopidae from the Pacific islands, Australia, New Zealand, Juan Fernandez and Chile; Endodontidae from the Pacific islands) and ontogenetic criterion. The aim of the study was to answer the following questions: (1) is the genus monophyletic? (2) are species groups within the genus monophyletic? (3) what are phylogenetic relationships among the species and their groups? Difficulties resulted from incompleteness of data (only shells available for some species), frequent instances of convergent evolution and consequent paucity of unequivocal apomorphies which would define monophyletic groups. As a result the phylogenies provided are only preliminary, and any formal classification changes would be premature. Based on combination of characters the genus was divided into seven groups; most species were assigned to groups distinguished by earlier authors; one new group was proposed. The geographical distribution was analysed in terms of endemism, but the lack of unequivocal phylogeny made it impossible to analyse it in the light of evolutionary relationships.

The 21 st Congress of the Polish Neuropsychological Society, entitled Neuropsychology and Neurologopedics: brain and language in the process of learning the world, was held at the Pedagogical University of Krakow between 30 November and 1 December 2018. During the two-day meeting many new issues were raised of the latest results of psychological, medical and speech therapy research in treatment of a patient with brain dysfunctions. The sessions were summarized during a discussion panel. The Congress was received with great interest by both scholars and therapists (psychologists, speech/language therapists, pedagogists) and teachers from all over Poland. The president of the Polish Neuropsychological Society, Prof. Maria Pąchalska, awarded the highest prizes award of the society for the outstanding contribution in neuropsyhology, that is: 1. Copernicus Prize 2018 with a bronze figure made by the sculptor artist prof. Józef Wąsacz from the Drawing, Painting and Sculpture Department, Faculty of Architecture, Tadeusz Kościuszko University of Technology, Krakow, Poland. To date, the Society has honored this award with 506 scientists from around the World, including Nobel Prize winner Prof. Stanley B. Prusiner with Copernicus Prize 2010. 2. Virtuti Medicinali 2018 diplomas for outstanding therapeutic and organizational work promoting the development of society. A General Meeting of the Polish Neuropsychological Society was held after two fruitful days of sessions and scientific discussions.
