Opis:
In my studies 357 cats were examined talking into account their age, sex, breed and environment. The blood was tested for the presence of antibodies of T. gondii (Toxo-Screen DA, bioMérieux). Also 149 cats were examined for the presence of oocysts T. gondii in the feces (Füllebom's method). The antibodies were found in 252 (70.6%) cats out of 357 examined ones. Whereas oocysts were found only in one case (0.8%) out of 149 examined cats. 55 persons from environment of positive cats were examined. The presence of T. gondii antibodies was detected in 31 persons (56.4%).

Opis:
The purpose of the summing up of the investigation results obtained heretofore and concerning the role of proteolytic enzymes in the invasiveness of parasites is to put a special stress upon this very interesting phenomenon in the system parasite-host. The discussion in this matter was limited to protozoa, and parasite worms and concerned mainly species which have been more often tested, viz. Entamoeba histolytica or Schistosoma cercariae. As regards the protozoa the incidence of casease, gelatinase and hyaluronidase has been talked over in the first line, whereas in the class of worms special attention was concentrated on activity of collagenase, lipase and hyaluronidase. The author refers also to own, unpublished up to now, results of investigations on the spreading factor activity in E. histolytica, E. moshkovskii, Trichomonas vaginalis, Toxoplasma gondii, Balantidium coli and Trichinella spiralis (muscular larvae and mature intestinal parasites). By means of turbidimetric methods and mucin clot prevention according to Mc Cleane (1943) he stated an incontestable activity, such as hialuronidase, to tell the truth - only in B. coli. The results of tests with other parasites were either negative or contradictory. Discussing own results and those obtained by other investigators the author points to the imperfection of methods applied to day and to the usage of insufficiently purified or altogether indeterminated substrats. Though we are still in the first stage of investigations on enzymatic phenomena in parasites, we can already see how valuable are such works which will, most certainly, cast light on some obscure problems of invasion and pathogenesis of invasive diseases.

Studies were undertaken to evaluate by parasitological techniques the course of intestinal and muscular invasions in mice infected with Trichinella spiralis and treated with TFX-Thymomodulin (TFX-Th). Studies were conducted on 120 mice of BALB/c and SWISS strains, infected each with a mean invasive dose of 300 T. spiralis larvae. TFX-Th (Thymoorgan GmbH Pharmazie Co. KG, Vienenburg, Germany) was administered subcutaneously at 30 mg/kg body weight. Depending upon duration of TFX-Th administration and stages of intestinal and muscular invasions, three experiments were distinguished in the study. The results indicated that TFX-Th promoted eradication of larvae from muscles, whether administered at the early of the late stage of T. spiralis invasion.
