Opis:
The paper presents a method of choosing the optimal value of the cargo ships deadweight. The method may be useful at the stage of establishing the main owners requirements concerning the ship design parameters as well as for choosing a proper ship for a given transportation task. The deadweight is determined on the basis of a selected economic measure of the transport effectiveness of ship – the Required Freight Rate (RFR). The mathematical model of the problem is of a deterministic character and the simplifying assumptions are justified for ships operating in the liner trade. The assumptions are so selected that solution of the problem is obtained in analytical closed form. The presented method can be useful for application in the pre-investment ships designing parameters simulation or transportation task studies.

Paper presents results of studies on a parametric method of predicting ship operating costs - useful in the preliminary ship design. Conception and theoretical basis of the method are presented, identified are also factors of significant importance for the ship operating costs, taking into account changes in the value of money. Approximation formulae for estimating the operating cost components have been developed as well as a computational algorithm based on a minimum Required Freight Rate (RFR). The useful character of the method is illustrated by examples of operating cost predictions for four different ship types designed in the Eureka project E!2772, i.e.: SINE 202 universal container carrier, SINE 203 oil product tanker, SINE 204 ro-ro ship and SINE 205 river-sea ship.

This paper contains formulation of a parametric method for evaluation of SWATH ship’s hull resistance. The method was elaborated on the basis of numerical calculation results obtained by using structural methods based on ship hydrodynamic theory and performed for sufficiently large series of body forms with systematically changing ship form parameters. Also, results of verifying investigations dealing with features of the method in question are presented by comparing the obtained resistance characteristics with those achieved by other authors as well as with ship model experimental test results. The obtained results of the verification indicate that the elaborated method can be useful in preliminary designing the SWATH ships.

Opis:
This paper describes a method useful for determination of load carrying capacity of underwater vehicle, elaborated on the basis of investigations of series of vehicles of systematically changed geometrical dimensions. By using the set of the series of vehicles their structural mass and displacement – at a given structural material and assumed maximum permissible submersion depth – were determined, and next – approximation formulae for deadweight of vehicles were obtained. Vehicle’s form may be consisted of one or a few cylindrical floats of circular cross-section, ended with caps. The floats are joined together with a space pipe frame. Acceptability of design solutions results from comparison of working stress values in float’s shell plating with permissible stresses as well as critical stresses. The presented method may be useful in the preliminary stage of designing the underwater vehicles - i.e. may serve for preliminary determination of a vehicle deadweight – at its given, or determined, geometrical dimensions, maximum permissible submersion depth, as well as a selected structural material.

For many years, satellite systems have seen widespread use in a variety of technical applications, as well as in operations related to setting-out and the exploitation of track infrastructure. Their main applications include an inventory of the trackage course and detecting changes in its position. In both of these tasks, the most important element that determines the quality of an analyses is the high accuracy of the determinations being carried out. Satellite surveying techniques are not always sufficiently accurate, and in such cases, it is necessary to employ other land surveying methods to process surveying data. This article presents the authors’ considerations with regards to the possibility of applying one of the most common land surveying adjustment methods, the parametric method, to operations related to an inventory of tram infrastructure in Gdańsk. The results are based on surveys carried out during a surveying campaign in the autumn of 2018. The considerations presented in the article concern a small part of the research conducted under project No. POIR.04.01.01-00-0017/17 entitled “Development of an innovative method for determining the precise trajectory of a railborne vehicle” which is being implemented by a consortium of Gdansk University of Technology and Gdynia Maritime University

This paper presents a method for estimation of mass characteristics of vessels, elaborated with the use of an algorithm based on requirements of the Rules for the Classification and Construction of Inland Waterways Vessels of Polish Register of Shipping, and on a simplified method [6] for determination of mass of hull plating stiff"eners. The dimensioning method of hull structure scantlings based on this algorithm concerns classical vessels intended for the carrying of general cargo, dry and liquid bulk cargoes, which determine the range of the method application. The method does not cover vessels of different construction, e.g. roll-on-roll-off type vessels equipped with heavy decks, as the dimensioning of their scantlings is based on different relationships and models.

This paper describes a method for preliminary designing the autonomous underwater vehicles (AUV), especially useful in the case when requirements concerning kinematic and dynamic parameters of vehicle motion are given in design assumptions. Concept of the method is based on dynamic equations which describe vehicle planar motion in vertical and horizontal directions, resulting from action of screw propellers or water ballast, respectively. The motion equations were determined by applying simplifications concerning both geometrical description of vehicle’s form and flow phenomena. Their solutions were obtained in the form of closed analytical expressions which are both of cognitive and practical merits as they can serve to assess influence of vehicle’s design parameters on its motion characteristics and simultaneously are convenient to formulate design optimization problems. Application of the method was illustrated by the attached examples dealing with determination of kinematic and dynamic characteristics of motion of the vehicle „Scylla” of set geometrical configuration and propulsion parameters.

This work presents a practical and effective method to evaluate the reliability status of an object basing on the observation ofchanges in its functioning (automatics) and its technical condition (diagnostics). It has been observed that changes of the functioning condition potential could serve to determine the symptoms of transient (momentary) damages and the changes in the potential of the technical condition to determine the symptoms of parametric damages (non-total). The issue of calculating parameters for lifting objects of axisymmetric shapes from the seabed is studied. The article presents the results of numerical simulation examination of the equation formulated by Foda for the force needed to extricate the object from the seabed depending on soil and water parameters, extrication speed, and object diameter. The simulations were performed within the range of parameters characteristic for real applications, and their results were used for deriving approximate algebraic formulas applicable in engineering practice of lifting objects resting on seabed.

The article presents a parametric method applicable in assessing the suction force of a slender body to the seabed, and prognosing the body extrication time. Along with the body weight in water, the information on the suction force is essential for assessing the force needed to lift the object from the seabed. Based on the Foda theory and the resulting integral equation, which relates the maximum suction force with basic parameters of the issue of concern, the parametric method has been developed which can be widely applied in engineering practice of lifting objects. A set of discrete values of parameters selected from the range of typical values for engineering practice was the basis for developing algebraic formulas approximating the integral Foda equation for slender bodies. The included results of tests present the variability of suction force characteristics and the envelopes of maximum forces needed to extricate the body from the seabed.

This study was carried out to show the extent to which the land is productive due to the effect that climatic changes and the increase in population growth are the reasons that led to an increase in the demand for food, especially in developing countries. Therefore, a scientific way must assess the land suitability for growing crops. This research aimed to provide an integrated approach to the process of analyzing the suitability of agricultural lands for crop growth. Wheat in the Nile region of Babylon Governorate, was studied using the analytical hierarchy model (AHP) and compared with the parametric method and the actual crop in the field, as twelve soil criteria were determined (electrical conductivity, soil interaction, cation exchange capacity, exchangeable sodium ratio, soil texture, lime, gypsum, organic carbon, drainage, soil depth, slope, flooding) and three criteria were added in the AHP method due to their importance in Iraqi soils, which are (total nitrogen, availability phosphorus, crop variety). The results were extracted and showed that all the results of the study using the parametric method within the very unsuitable class for cultivation, N2, 72.5%, with an area of 37,734.07 hectares, and the unsuitable class, N1, 27.5%, with an area of 14,312.92 hectares, either by using the method. According to the analytical hierarchy process and giving varying importance to the soil criteria above, it was found that 37.5% are very suitable S1 with an area of 19517.62 hectares, 42.5% suitable for agriculture S2 with an area of 22119.97 hectares, and 20% moderately suitable S3 with an area of 10409.4 hectares. These results were similar to the agricultural reality of the regions under study.

Let $₀^{(R)}(b)$ denote the class of functions F(z) = b + A₁z + A₂z² + ...$ analytic and univalent in the unit disk U which satisfy the conditions: F(U) ⊂ U, 0 ∉ F(U), $Im F^{(n)}(0) = 0$. Using Loewner's parametric method we obtain lower and upper bounds of A₂ in $₀^{(R)}(b)$ and functions for which these bounds are realized. The class $₀^{(R)}(b)$, introduced in [6], is a subclass of the class $_u$ of bounded, non-vanishing univalent functions in the unit disk. This last class and closely related ones have been studied by various authors in [1]-[4]. We mention in particular the paper of D. V. Prokhorov and J. Szynal [5], where a sharp upper bound for the second coefficient in $_u$ is given.

Rozwój rynku nieruchomości mieszkaniowych jest jednym z istotniejszych czynników wpływających na rozwój gospodarczy kraju. Rynek ten jest powiązany z rynkiem kredytów hipotecznych, rynkiem pracy oraz całym sektorem budowlanym. Istnieje wiele czynników, które kształtują rynek nieruchomości mieszkaniowych. Należy do nich zaliczyć: ceny na rynku nieruchomości mieszkaniowych, podmioty rynku nieruchomości, inwestycje dokonywane na tym rynku, transakcje zawierane na tym rynku oraz charakterystyki nieruchomości mieszkaniowych. Ze względu na niemałą liczbę tych czynników analiza rynku nieruchomości mieszkaniowych powinna być dokonywana wielokryterialnie. Celem artykułu jest dokonanie oceny lokalnych rynków nieruchomości mieszkaniowych w Polsce za pomocą wybranych metod wielowymiarowej analizy porównawczej.
Development of the housing market is one of the most important factors influencing the economic development of the country. The housing market is linked to the mortgage market, the labor market and the whole construction industry. There are factors which describe local housing markets, for example: transaction prices on the primary and secondary housing market, number of entities operating on the real estate market, number and value of transactions concluded on the housing market. Due to the number of these factors, the analysis of the housing market should be made multidimensional. The purpose of this article is to assess the local housing market in Poland, using the standardized sums method.

The paper presents a proposed adjustment algorithm for an integrated method of measuring situational and altitude details, consisting in combining the modular network elements (classical terrestrial measurements) with the GNSS vectors. Satellite measurements are treated as additional observations, strengthening the network structure, or playing the role of binding (tie) elements between the classical modules. The proposed algorithm is based on the idea of total adjustment of all types of observations (terrestrial, satellite) with the intermediary method, according to the least squares procedure. In order to determine the necessary approximate values of the unknowns (coordinates of the points, which are being determined), the GNSS vectors may be used.
W pracy przedstawiono propozycję algorytmu wyrównania dla zintegrowanej metody pomiaru szczegółów sytuacyjno-wysokościowych, polegającej na połączeniu elementów sieci modularnych (klasyczny pomiar naziemny) z wektorami GNSS. Pomiary satelitarne traktowane są jako dodatkowe obserwacje, wzmacniające konstrukcję sieci lub pełniące rolę elementów wiążących pomiędzy modułami klasycznymi. Zaproponowany algorytm opiera się na idei łącznego wyrównania wszystkich typów obserwacji (naziemne, satelitarne) metodą pośredniczącą, według procedury najmniejszych kwadratów. W celu wyznaczenia niezbędnych wartości przybliżonych niewiadomych (współrzędnych wyznaczanych punktów) mogą być wykorzystane wektory GNSS.

As the devices designed to transport materials, the overhead cranes should meet certain geometric requirements for their operation to be safe. The presently available geodetic equipment, in particular total stations, provides opportunities for precise 3D measurements of coordinates of the controlled points. These coordinates make a basis for correcting the height of crane runway axes. The paper presents a method to calculate position corrections for the crane rail axes in both vertical and horizontal direction, and indicates that these results can find much wider application. Among other goals, the observations of this type, along with the Kalman filtration method, can be used to predict vertical displacements of the crane rail axes. The object of practical considerations in the paper is a crane working in the area with unfavourable geotechnical conditions and the settling limits attributed to this crane and location area in the technical design. The sample practical application has confirmed the validity of the use of the proposed solution for evaluating the operational safety of the crane. Although the tests were performed for the gantry crane, the proposed solution is believed to be applicable for other types of overhead cranes.

The paper aims to determine the single-factor productivity (SFP) of capital and labor in 20 member countries of the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) in 1970-2000. Calculated with the use of a parametric method based onnested constant-elasticity-of-substitution (CES) production functions,the SFP values are used to deal with three research issues: (1) determine the distribution of SFP among countries; (2) compare SFP between individual OECD countries and the United States in 2000 (such an analysis makes it possible to identify which factors are especially efficiently/inefficiently used in production by which countries); (3) conduct a dynamic analysis to check how the SFP of individual factors evolved in the analyzed countries in 1970-2000. The results obtained show that the key advantage of the United States over other OECD countries analyzed in terms of total factor productivity is based on a different level of endowment with individual production factors, specifically physical and human capital. Second, an increased SFP for skilled labor was the main factor (alongside factor accumulation) behind an increase in productivity in OECD countries in 1970-2000. In most countries, especially Japan, the SFP of capital also increased. The SFP of unskilled labor, on the other hand, decreased considerably, the authors note.

Analizowano problem modelowania matematycznego i identyfikacji parametrycznej silnika bezszczotkowego prądu stałego z komutatorem elektronicznym. Silnik zasilano z falownika napięcia. Do identyfikacji parametrycznej modelu matematycznego napędu elektrycznego zastosowano numeryczną metodę optymalizacji statycznej Box'a (metoda complex). Badania laboratoryjne przeprowadzono z silnikiem o mocy 2 kW.
The problem of mathematical modelling and parameter identification of a brushless dc motor was analysed. The motor parameters are usually determined on the basis of catalogue data or from appropriate measurements of mechanical and electrical characteristics. Classical identification methods are of not high accuracy because the technique of experimental measurement does not allow taking into account the non-linear dynamic phenomena. The numerical Box's method of static optimisation was applied to parametric identification of the brushless motor. The analysis of the trajectory sensitivity function showed that the value of the motor parameters should be determined mainly on the basis of minimisation of the motor current mean-square error. The inductance and induction coefficient were determined on the basis of minimisation of the stator current mean-square error, whereas the inertia moment of the rotor and load - from minimisation of the angular velocity mean-square error. Measurements of the motor physical quantities as well as its control were realised with use of a computer and the ADMC 401 microprocessor system with the A/D and D/A converter card. The experimental verification was carried out for the laboratory model of the inverter-fed, dc brushless motor drive (2 kW).

W artykule przedstawiono metodę optymalizacji parametrycznej wykorzystującą w swoim działaniu algorytm ewolucyjny. Algorytm ten do prawidłowego działania wymaga ustalenia szeregu parametrów. Jednym z tych parametrów jest wpływ ilościowy operatora mutacji oraz mutacji postępowej. Układem sterowania, dla którego ewolucyjnie obliczono parametry regulatorów był układ sterowania polowo-zorientowanego z silnikiem indukcyjnym małej mocy.
This paper presents parametric optimization method with using the evolutionary algorithm. This algorithm requires many parameters to correct work. One of this parameters is quantitative influence of mutation operator and progressive mutation. Control system which regulator parameters were calculated by evolution for was filed-oriented control system with induction low-power engine.

Nonparametric hydrographs, constructed by the method suggested by Archer, are usually used for developing parametric design hydrographs. Flow changes in time are described by the UPO ERR Gamma complex function, which denotes a Gamma curve reformulated to have a Unit Peak at the Origin (abbreviated to UPO), supplemented by the Exponential Replacement Recession (ERR) curve. It may be observed, that this solution does not work in some areas of the upper Vistula and middle Odra catchments when the times of the rising limb of a hydrograph are higher than the times of the falling limb, i.e. when the skewness coefficient approximates 0.5 or higher values. Better results can be achieved with the function suggested by Strupczewski in 1964. It is a solution which uses two parameters of the flood hydrograph. The objective of the present paper is to assess the Strupczewski method by comparing it with a complex UPO ERR Gamma function for gauged cross-sections in the upper Vistula and middle Odra catchments. The assessment was carried out for 30 gauged cross-sections (15 in each river catchment). The parameters were optimized for width-hydrograph descriptors W75 and W50, designed by the Archer method, and for the skewness coefficient s. Optimization using only two width-hydrograph descriptors aims to test how the Strupczewski method works for cross-sections for which the values of width-hydrograph descriptors W75 and W50 are known. The assessment of both methods was carried out with reference to a nonparametric hydrograph constructed by the Archer method. The results of these assessments suggest that the Strupczewski method may be used not only for gauged cross-sections, but also for ungauged ones.

Opis:
One of the most popular applications of high power lasers is heating of the surface layer of a material, in order to change its properties. Numerical methods allow an easy and fast way to simulate the heating process inside of the material. The most popular numerical methods FEM and BEM, used to simulate this kind of processes have one fundamental defect, which is the necessity of discretization of the boundary or the domain. An alternative to avoid the mentioned problem are parametric integral equations systems (PIES), which do not require classical discretization of the boundary and the domain while being numerically solved. PIES method was previously used with success to solve steady-state problems, as well as transient heat transfer problems. The purpose of this paper is to test the efficacy of the PIES method with time discretization in solving problem of laser heating of a material, with different pulse shape approximation functions.

We study the bound state solutions of the Klein-Gordon equation with Woods-Saxon plus attractive inversely quadratic potential using the parametric Nikiforov-Uvarov Method. We obtained the bound state energy eigenvalues and the corresponding normalized eigen functions expressed in terms of hypergeometric functions. Two special cases of this potential are discussed.

Opis:
The aim of the paper is to detect and identify diagnostic symptoms based on parametric modeling with the use of system identification methods in the scope of monitoring techniques intended for rotating machinery under transient operational conditions. The development effort should focus on early warning methods in order to increase detectability and performance of machines operation. The diagnostic symptoms may prove to be a powerful tool for the decision support systems based on easier interpretable parameters of a parametric model. The paper discusses the experimental results obtained with the use of a laboratory test rig as well as data from conducted numerical simulations.
Celem artykułu jest rozpoznanie symptomów diagnostycznych na podstawie modelowania parametrycznego z wykorzystaniem metod identyfikacji systemów w zakresie technik monitorowania przeznaczonych dla maszyn wirnikowych pracujących w przejściowych warunkach operacyjnych. Rozwój metody skupia się na wczesnym ostrzeganiu o pogorszeniu stanu technicznego w celu zwiększenia wykrywalności oraz polepszenia stanu operacyjnego maszyn. Symptomy diagnostyczne mogą okazać się użyteczne dla systemów wspomagania decyzji opartych na łatwo interpretowalnych parametrach modeli parametrycznych. Praca przedstawia wyniki eksperymentalne uzyskane przy pomocy aparatury laboratoryjnej jak również wyniki komputerowych symulacji numerycznych.

The solutions of the Schrӧdinger equation with Manning-Rosen plus a class of Yukawa potential (MRCYP) have been presented using the Pekeris-like approximation and parametric Nikiforov-Uvarov (NU) method. The bound state energy eigenvalues and the corresponding un-normalized eigen functions are obtained in terms of Jacobi polynomials. Also, inversely quadratic Yukawa, Yukawa, Manning-Rosen and coulomb potentials have been recovered from the mixed potential and their Eigen values obtained. The Numerical results are computed for some values of n at l = 0 with α = 0.01, 0.1, 2 and 5 using python 3.6 programming, and these results could be applied to molecules moving under the influence of MRYP potential as negative energy eigenvalues obtained indicate a bound state system.
