Kontrolery TNC są układami mikroprocesorowymi, służącymi do przesyłu informacji w sieci Packet Radio. W pracy przedstawiono wyniki badań opóźnień rozpoczęcia i zakończenia transmisji w doświadczalnej sieci Packet Radio, uzyskane przy użyciu różnych typów kontrolerów TNC. Wyniki te skonfrontowano z wynikami obliczeń z wykorzystaniem wprowadzonego wcześniej analitycznego modelu kontrolera TNC. Przedstawione rozważania mogą posłużyć do oceny możliwości zastosowania kontrolerów TNC w określonych aplikacjach uwarunkowanych czasowo.
TNC controllers are microprocessor-based circuits used as network adapters for amateur Packet Radio network. They can, however, be used in other applications, e.g., remote control or telemetry. In such applications, it is often necessary to estimate transmission delays. This paper briefly presents the previously developed analytical model that allows estimating delays of transmission start and end. Calculation results obtained with this model are used as a reference point for results obtained in an experimental Packet Radio network using various types of TNC controllers. These results clearly show that the processing power of the TNC controller microprocessor has great influence on the aforementioned transmission delays. How-ever, detailed analysis of the results shows that software-dependent protocol implementation issues also influence network achievements. Thus, it requires further research using a common hardware platform with various types and versions of the software. The presented considerations can help in analysis of TNC controller application possibilities in certain time-bounded applications.

Opis:
This paper describes expansions in terms of Hermite and Laguerre functions similar to the Frazier-Jawerth expansion in Fourier analysis. The wave packets occurring in these expansions are finite linear combinations of Hermite and Laguerre functions. The Shannon sampling formula played an important role in the derivation of the Frazier-Jawerth expansion. In this paper we use the Christoffel-Darboux formula for orthogonal polynomials instead. We obtain estimates on the decay of the Hermite and Laguerre wave packets by investigating two closely related oscillatory integrals.

This paper is devoted to evaluating the performance of Space-Memory-Memory (SMM) Clos-network switches under a packet dispatching scheme employing static connection patterns, referred to as Static Dispatching (SD). The control algorithm with static connection patterns can be easily implemented in the SMM fabric due to bufferless switches in the first stage. Stability is one of the very important performance factors of packet switching nodes. In general, a switch is stable for a particular arrival process if the expected length of the packet queues does not increase without limitation. To prove the stability of the SMM Clos-network switches considered under the SD packet dispatching scheme the discrete Markov chain model of the switch is used and Foster’s criteria to extend Lyapunov’s second (direct) method of stability investigation of discrete time stochastic systems are used. The results of simulation experiments, in terms of average cell delay and packet queue lengths, are shown as well.

In this paper a novel scheduling algorithm of packet selection in a switch node for transmission in a network channel, based on Reinforcement Learning and modified Adaptive Heuristic Critic is introduced. A comparison of two well known scheduling algorithms: Earliest Deadline First and Round Robin shows that these algorithms perform well in some cases, but they cannot adapt their behavior to traffic changes. Simulation studies show that novel scheduling algorithm outperforms Round Robin and Earliest Deadline First by adapting to changing of network conditions.

A general procedure based on momentum-like quantity provides the reflection and transmission amplitudes for a given barrier sandwiched by semiconductor reservoirs is presented. Furthermore, the evolution of the wave function stemming from an initial Gaussian wave packet located on the left hand side of the barrier with ignorable barrier overlap is obtained. The evolving wave function enables obtaining the associated probability and current densities space and time-wise. As application, the case of smooth double barrier is considered. The numerical results exhibit similar picture as obtained via propagator in the limited case of square barrier, e.g. repeated current density reversal at the barrier entrance, while being unidirectional at the exit. Presently, the treatment takes account of any barrier, inclusive of applied voltage. The basic quantity required is the value of the momentum-like quantity at the barrier entrance, which is obtained solving a Riccati equation governing the quantity, in question, whose value is known at the barrier exit in terms of the carrier energy and applied bias.

In this paper the new packet switch architecture with multiple output queuing (MOQ) is proposed. In this architecture the nonblocking switch fabric, which has the capacity of N _N2 N2, and output buffers arranged into N separate queues for each output, are applied. Each of N queues in one output port stores packets directed to this output only from one input. Both switch fabric and buffers can operate at the same speed as input and output ports. This solution does not need any speedup in the switch fabric as well as arbitration logic for taking decisions which packets from inputs will be transferred to outputs. Two possible switch fabric structures are considered: the centralized structure with the switch fabric located on one or several separate boards, and distributed structure with the switch fabric distributed over line cards. Buffer arrangements as separate queues with independent write pointers or as a memory bank with one pointer are also discussed. The mean cell delay and cell loss probability as performance measures for the proposed switch architecture are evaluated and compared with performance of OQ architecture and VOQ architecture. The hardware complexity of OQ, VOQ and presented MOQ are also compared. We conclude that hardware complexity of proposed switch is very similar to VOQ switch but its performance is comparable to OQ switch.

The paper regards problem of providing statistical performance guarantees for real-time flows using Expedited Forwarding Per Hop Behavior (EF PHB) in IP Differentiated Services networks. Statistical approach to EF flows performance guarantees, based on calculation of probability that end-to-end packet delay is larger than certain value, allows larger network utilization than previously proposed deterministic approach. In the paper different methods of packet delay distribution evaluation are presented and compared. Considered cases comprise evaluation of delay distribution models for the core network and evaluation of end-to-end packet delay in the network consisted of edge node and chain of core nodes. Results obtained with aid of analytical models are compared with simulation results.

Powierzchnię obrobioną po toczeniu można scharakteryzować jako zbiór różnych składowych częstotliwości. Jedną z metod opisu tego typu powierzchni jest dekompozycja przy zastosowaniu transformaty pakietów falkowych. Celem pracy była optymalizacja struktury drzewa uzyskanych metodą pakietów falkowych dla dekompozycji profilu powierzchni obrobionej. Dokonano rozdziału sygnału profilu dla 1480 przypadków różnych profili powierzchni i uogólniono statystycznie dobór najlepszego drzewa.
The optimisation of wavelet packets tree structure for turned surface decomposition is the aim of the work. The machined surface after the process of turning is characterised by the set of irregularities left by tool wedge pass. Tool geometry, feed rate and tool chipping are the basic factors influencing the surface features [1, 2]. The machined surface profile can be described by a continuous spectrum of wavelength. The information about the tool chipping and other maladjustments is contained in higher frequency components [3, 4, 5]. One of the techniques of machined surface profile decomposition is a wavelet packet transform. It enables to select the appropriate wavelet function and, simultaneously, to perform deep and complete analysis [6, 7, 8]. The wavelet packet decomposition was performed with use of the Coiflet wavelet function. The previous investigations had confirmed the usefulness of this wavelet function for the turned surface description [8]. For 1480 different machined surface profiles the best tree was statistically elaborated with use of the entropy criterion [10, 11, 12]. The discrete wavelet transform tree was indicated to be optimal for 69% machined surface profile decompositions. The completion of this tree with additional detail vectors enabled the analysis to be more thorough. The statistically optimal tree contained 97% optimal subtrees (Tab. 1.) and was treated as an optimal one.

Packet-switched xHaul networks are a scalable solution enabling convergent transport of diverse types of radio data flows, such as fronthaul / midhaul / backhaul (FH / MH / BH) flows, between remote sites and a central site (hub) in 5G radio access networks (RANs). Such networks can be realized using the cost-efficient Ethernet technology, which enhanced with time-sensitive networking (TSN) features allows for prioritized transmission of latency-sensitive fronthaul flows. Provisioning of multiple types of 5G services of different service requirements in a shared network, commonly referred to as network slicing, requires adequate handling of transported data flows in order to satisfy particular service / slice requirements. In this work, we investigate two traffic prioritization policies, namely, flowaware (FA) and latency-aware (LA), in a packet-switched xHaul network supporting slices of different latency requirements. We evaluate the effectiveness of the policies in a networkplanning case study, where virtualized radio processing resources allocated at the processing pool (PP) facilities, for two slices related to enhanced mobile broadband (eMBB) and ultra-reliable low latency communications (URLLC) services, are subject to optimization. Using numerical experiments, we analyze PP cost savings from applying the LA policy (vs. FA) in various network scenarios. The savings in active PPs reach up to 40% − 60% in ring scenarios and 30% in a mesh network, whereas the gains in overall PP cost are up to 20% for the cost values assumed in the analysis.

This article deals with the noise detection of discrete biosignals using an orthogonal wavelet packet. In specific, it compares the usefulness of Daubechies wavelets with different vanishing moments for the denoising and compression of the digitalised biosignals in case of surface electromyography (sEMG) signals. The work is based upon the discrete wavelet transform (DWT) version of wavelet package transform (WPT). A noise reducing algorithm is proposed to detect unavoidable noise in the acquired data in a model independent way. The noise of a signal sequence will be defined by a seminorm. This method was developed for a possible observation during a fracture healing period. The proposed method is general for signal processing and its design was based upon the wavelet packet.

This paper models the downlink Fifth Generation (5G) network that supports a flexible frame structure and a shorter Round-Trip Time (RTT) for Hybrid Automatic Repeat Request (HARQ). Moreover, the design of the renowned Time Division Multiple Access (TDMA) packet scheduling algorithms is revised to allow these algorithms to support packet scheduling in the downlink 5G. Simulation results demonstrate that the Proportional Fair provides a comparable performance to the delay–aware Maximum-Largest Weighted Delay First for simultaneously providing the desired transmission reliability of the Guaranteed Bit Rate (GBR) and Non-Guaranteed Bit Rate (Non - GBR) healthcare contents whilst maximizing the downlink 5G performance.

Despite various speech enhancement techniques have been developed for different applications, existing methods are limited in noisy environments with high ambient noise levels. Speech presence probability (SPP) estimation is a speech enhancement technique to reduce speech distortions, especially in low signalto-noise ratios (SNRs) scenario. In this paper, we propose a new two-dimensional (2D) Teager-energyoperators (TEOs) improved SPP estimator for speech enhancement in time-frequency (T-F) domain. Wavelet packet transform (WPT) as a multiband decomposition technique is used to concentrate the energy distribution of speech components. A minimum mean-square error (MMSE) estimator is obtained based on the generalized gamma distribution speech model in WPT domain. In addition, the speech samples corrupted by environment and occupational noises (i.e., machine shop, factory and station) at different input SNRs are used to validate the proposed algorithm. Results suggest that the proposed method achieves a significant enhancement on perceptual quality, compared with four conventional speech enhancement algorithms (i.e., MMSE-84, MMSE-04, Wiener-96, and BTW).

Hence the IoT network requires a trust aware mechanism which can identify and isolate the malicious nodes. Trust Sensing has been playing a significant role in dealing with security issue in IoT. A novel a Light Weight Clustered Trust Sensing (LWCTS) model is developed which ensures a secured and qualitative data transmission in the IoT network. Simulation experiments are conducted over the proposed model and the performance is compared with existing models. The obtained results prove the effectiveness when compared with existing approaches.

Queueing systems in which an arriving job is blocked and lost with a probability that depends on the queue size are studied. The study is motivated by the popularity of Active Queue Management (AQM) algorithms proposed for packet queueing in Internet routers. AQM algorithms often exploit the idea of queue-size based packet dropping. The main results include analytical solutions for queue size distribution, loss ratio and throughput. The analytical results are illustrated via numerical examples that include some commonly used blocking probabilities (dropping functions).

In this paper, the minimization of total weighted completion time (total cost) for asynchronous transmission in distributed systems is discussed. Special attention has been paid to the problem of message scheduling on the sender side. Messages to be sent form a queue, therefore the order in which they are to be sent has to be set. Scheduling algorithms can be chosen to optimize scheduling criteria such as total completion time or total weighted completion time. The message scheduling problem becomes complicated considerably when the transmitted data stream between the sender and the receiver is formed into packets. TheWSPT (Weighted Shortest Processing Time) scheduling rule, which orders messages according to non-decreasing length and weight ratios has been proven to be non-optimal. It has been demonstrated that the problem of minimizing the total weighted completion time is NP-hard. Here, we propose heuristic algorithms for scheduling messages and experimentally evaluate the performance of these scheduling algorithms.

Buzz, squeak and rattle (BSR) noise has become apparent in vehicles due to the significant reductions in engine noise and road noise. The BSR often occurs in driving condition with many interference signals. Thus, the automatic BSR detection remains a challenge for vehicle engineers. In this paper, a rattle signal denoising and enhancing method is proposed to extract the rattle components from in-vehicle background noise. The proposed method combines the advantages of wavelet packet decomposition and mathematical morphology filter. The critical frequency band and the information entropy are introduced to improve the wavelet packet threshold denoising method. A rattle component enhancing method based on multi-scale compound morphological filter is proposed, and the kurtosis values are introduced to determine the best parameters of the filter. To examine the feasibility of the proposed algorithm, synthetic brake caliper rattle signals with various SNR ratios are prepared to verify the algorithm. In the validation analysis, the proposed method can well remove the disturbance background noise in the signal and extract the rattle components with well SNR ratios. It is believed that the algorithm discussed in this paper can be further applied to facilitate the detection of the vehicle rattle noise in industry.

Scalability of packet switched cross-connects that utilize all-optical signal processing is a crucial issue that eventually determines the future role of photonic signal processing in optical networks. After reviewing several labeling techniques, we discuss label stacking and label swapping techniques and their benefits for scalable optical packet switched nodes. All-optical devices for implementing the packet switch based on the labeling techniques will be described. Finally, we present a 1×4 all-optical packet switch based on label swapping technique that utilizes a scalable and asynchronous label processor and label rewriter. Error-free operation indicates a potential utilization of the swapping technique in a multihop packet-switched network.

Routing algorithms are known to be potential bottlenecks for packet processing. Network ow caching can function as a general acceleration technique for packet processing workloads. The goal of this article is to evaluate the effectiveness of packet ow caching techniques in high-speed networks. The area of focus is the data distribution characteristics that lead to the effectiveness of caching network ows (connections). Based on a statistical analysis and simulations, the article sets the necessary conditions for the effective use of caches in packet forwarding applications. Public domain network traces were examined and measured for data locality. Software simulations show a strong correlation between the ow packet distance metrics and the cache hit rate.

W artykule przedstawiono przykładowy tor pomiarowy, umożliwiający automatyzację tego rodzaju testów. Przeanalizowano również zależność dokładności pomiaru od ilości odebranych danych oraz zbadano wpływ iteracyjnego wyznaczania ilości danych na błąd pomiaru.
Design of digital radio networks requires procedures for verification of transmission quality for every device participating in data exchange. The primary criterion of quality level is measurement of packet error rate (PER). A testbed presented in this paper enables automation of such measurements according to a programmable scenario, using control interfaces of measurement devices and processing results. The test transmitter consists of a RF signal generator modulated with the signal from an arbitrary pattern generator. A PC computer generates a test signal, controls and processes the data. The required precision of PER (Pt) measurements can be achieved by sending a certain number of test frames (n), which can be evaluated analytically [I]. The presented radio testbed was used for projects "Radio voice communication and remote control system for safety blockades and machinery, designed to work in underground coal mines" [2] and "Photovoltaics and sensors in environmental development of Malopolska region", for verification of detection and synchronization algorithms designed and implemented on FPGA devices [3]. It resulted in significant decrease of the measurements time and effort, accelerating diagnostics for radio modules.

A queueing system of the M/G/n-type, n ≥ 1, with a bounded total volume is considered. It is assumed that the volumes of the arriving packets are generally distributed random variables. Moreover, the AQM-type mechanism is used to control the actual buffer state: each of the arriving packets is dropped with a probability depending on its volume and the occupied volume of the system at the pre-arrival epoch. The explicit formulae for the stationary queue-size distribution and the loss probability are found. Numerical examples illustrating theoretical formulae are given as well.

Pomierzono spadki temperatury na próbie, między płytą grzewczą a otoczeniem z inkorporowanym elementem i bez niego. Dokonano analizy rangowej z założonym modelem rozkładu temperatur na próbie.
The aim of this paper is to check if implementation of electronic elements to textile structure will not disrupt clothing comfort and it will not cause essential changes in the temperature distribution. It was measured and calculated thermal conductivity coefficient and resistance of thermal clothing structure provided for fireman's uniforms. It was also measured the difference between the temperature of the heater's plate and surrounding. The ranks analysis was executed to receive results. It was compared to the temperature distribution model.

Usable user authentication is an important research topic. The traffic signature-based approach is a new authentication technology that identifies the devices used by online users based on traffic signatures, where the traffic approach has two advantages. First, users need not do any operations regarding the device identification. Second, users need not be sensitive to the privacy loss and computer theft. In this paper, an author evaluates the uniqueness and reproducibility of the signature by introducing a function that quantifies the distance between two signatures. Through number of experiments is demonstrated that the process interference approach has the advantage of generating new signatures that are sufficiently distinguishable from one another.

Snoring is a typical and intuitive symptom of the obstructive sleep apnea hypopnea syndrome (OSAHS), which is a kind of sleep-related respiratory disorder having adverse effects on people’s lives. Detecting snoring sounds from the whole night recorded sounds is the first but the most important step for the snoring analysis of OSAHS. An automatic snoring detection system based on the wavelet packet transform (WPT) with an eXtreme Gradient Boosting (XGBoost) classifier is proposed in the paper, which recognizes snoring sounds from the enhanced episodes by the generalization subspace noise reduction algorithm. The feature selection technology based on correlation analysis is applied to select the most discriminative WPT features. The selected features yield a high sensitivity of 97.27% and a precision of 96.48% on the test set. The recognition performance demonstrates that WPT is effective in the analysis of snoring and non-snoring sounds, and the difference is exhibited much more comprehensively by sub-bands with smaller frequency ranges. The distribution of snoring sound is mainly on the middle and low frequency parts, there is also evident difference between snoring and non-snoring sounds on the high frequency part.

Providing quality of service (QoS) into the networks based on the packet switched technologies, as ATM and IP, is currently the challenge for the military communication system designers. The main element for achieving QoS capabilities is to implement effective admission control (AC) function, which regulates the volume of submitted traffic to the network. The traditional approach for the AC is that it is invoked by each call requesting QoS. As a consequence, the call set-up latency is increasing and, in addition, the signaling traffic in the network is growing. This paper proposes a simple AC method that is based on the online traffic load measurements and assumes that the AC is involved only when the load exceeds a predefined threshold. As a consequence, for most of the connections the AC is not necessary to be executed and this causes lower set-up phase duration and limits the volume of signaling traffic. The numerical results showing effectiveness of the approach are included and compared with traditional AC performing.

A packet buffer limited to a fixed number of packets (regardless of their lengths) is considered. The buffer is described as a finite FIFO queuing system fed by a Markovian Arrival Process (MAP) with service times forming a Semi-Markov (SM) process (MAP/SM/1/b in Kendall’s notation). Such assumptions allow us to obtain new analytical results for the queuing characteristics of the buffer. In the paper, the following are considered: the time to fill the buffer, the local loss intensity, the loss ratio, and the total number of losses in a given time interval. Predictions of the proposed model are much closer to the trace-driven simulation results compared with the prediction of the MAP/G/1/b model.

This paper presents a novel, non-conventional approach to the future optical and wireless hybrid transport network, capable of supporting dominant kinds of trac, i.e., voice/real time, wireless and packet data tracffic in a single transport network. The proposed model combines different technologies as connection and connectionless networks, optical cable and wireless (microwave/millimetre wave or optical wireless), being suitable for a variety of purposes and services in order to achieve global broadband networking features. Our new networking model contains an extension to wireless world in order to achieve mobility and personalisation of connection. From the networking point of view it consists of an upgrade of real-time traffic with the microwave modulated optical wave, in order to carry out conventional mobile wireless signals via optical fibres over long distances and without significant distortion. The whole available bandwidth can be fully exploited in the hybrid network. In the IP part of the network the quality of service (QoS) can be differentiated for various classes of packets and network reliability/survivability can be categorised for the whole hybrid network. This proposal combines complete and revolutionary shift to packet traffic with smooth evolutionary upgrades. We believe the model presented here is a powerful tool to trace the future evolution of telecommunications worldwide for the next 25 years.

Burst ratio is a parameter that quanties packet loss patterns in transmission networks. It has been dened for an end-to-end scenario, therefore burst ratio can be determined only if the characteristics of the whole transmission path are known. In this paper, the burst ratio parameter applicability to cases when the transmission path consists of a series of transmission channels with known packet loss rate and burst ratio values is extended. The paper also presents the results of simulations performed with NS2 software, demonstrating the validity of the burst ratio analysis. Consequently, the research makes it possible to determine the value of the burst ratio parameter in concatenated packet networks, which in turn supports delivering higher quality VoIP services.

Speech emotion recognition (SER) is a complicated and challenging task in the human-computer interaction because it is difficult to find the best feature set to discriminate the emotional state entirely. We always used the FFT to handle the raw signal in the process of extracting the low-level description features, such as short-time energy, fundamental frequency, formant, MFCC (mel frequency cepstral coefficient) and so on. However, these features are built on the domain of frequency and ignore the information from temporal domain. In this paper, we propose a novel framework that utilizes multi-layers wavelet sequence set from wavelet packet reconstruction (WPR) and conventional feature set to constitute mixed feature set for achieving the emotional recognition with recurrent neural networks (RNN) based on the attention mechanism. In addition, the silent frames have a disadvantageous effect on SER, so we adopt voice activity detection of autocorrelation function to eliminate the emotional irrelevant frames. We show that the application of proposed algorithm significantly outperforms traditional features set in the prediction of spontaneous emotional states on the IEMOCAP corpus and EMODB database respectively, and we achieve better classification for both speaker-independent and speaker-dependent experiment. It is noteworthy that we acquire 62.52% and 77.57% accuracy results with speaker-independent (SI) performance, 66.90% and 82.26% accuracy results with speaker-dependent (SD) experiment in final.

Opis:
Speech emotion recognition (SER) is a complicated and challenging task in the human-computer interaction because it is difficult to find the best feature set to discriminate the emotional state entirely. We always used the FFT to handle the raw signal in the process of extracting the low-level description features, such as short-time energy, fundamental frequency, formant, MFCC (mel frequency cepstral coefficient) and so on. However, these features are built on the domain of frequency and ignore the information from temporal domain. In this paper, we propose a novel framework that utilizes multi-layers wavelet sequence set from wavelet packet reconstruction (WPR) and conventional feature set to constitute mixed feature set for achieving the emotional recognition with recurrent neural networks (RNN) based on the attention mechanism. In addition, the silent frames have a disadvantageous effect on SER, so we adopt voice activity detection of autocorrelation function to eliminate the emotional irrelevant frames. We show that the application of proposed algorithm significantly outperforms traditional features set in the prediction of spontaneous emotional states on the IEMOCAP corpus and EMODB database respectively, and we achieve better classification for both speaker-independent and speaker-dependent experiment. It is noteworthy that we acquire 62.52% and 77.57% accuracy results with speaker-independent (SI) performance, 66.90% and 82.26% accuracy results with speaker-dependent (SD) experiment in final.

In this paper, a modified sound quality evaluation (SQE) model is developed based on combination of an optimized artificial neural network (ANN) and the wavelet packet transform (WPT). The presented SQE model is a signal processing technique, which can be implemented in current microphones for predicting the sound quality. The proposed method extracts objective psychoacoustic metrics including loudness, sharpness, roughness, and tonality from sound samples, by using a special selection of multi-level nodes of the WPT combined with a trained ANN. The model is optimized using the particle swarm optimization (PSO) and the back propagation (BP) algorithms. The obtained results reveal that the proposed model shows the lowest mean square error and the highest correlation with human perception while it has the lowest computational cost compared to those of the other models and software.

This paper deals with the burst ratio parameter, which describes the burstiness of a packet loss observed in digital networks. It is one of the input parameters of E-model – the most widely used method of assessing conversational quality of telephony. The burst ratio is defined for one channel scenario so it can be calculated when the whole transmission path has been characterized by a single set of parameters. The main objective of the paper is to extend the burst ratio definition when the transmission path is defined as a tandem concatenation of transmission channels being described by their individual burst ratios. It is assumed that packet loss of a single channel is described by a 2-state Markov chain. The final result of the research is an equation describing the burst ratio parameter when the transmission path consists of multiple concatenated channels. The derived formula has been validated by extensive simulations.

In this work we investigate the possible benefit of employing adaptive wavelet algorithms instead of the classical fixed pyramidal wavelet decomposition for the compression of digital mammograms. In particular, we target on adaptive wavelet packet and NSMRA decompositions. We observe that information cost function optimized wavelet packet subband structures do not offer compression performance gain in this case whereas NSMRA decompositions moderately improve the results of classical wavelet decompositions. Due to the lack of fast and reliable search algorithms fixed NSMRA decompositions need to be generated and employed for classes of similar images.

In this paper we perform a detailed study of the formation and the dynamics of the exciton in the ZnSe/ZnTe quantum well taking into account two-particle nature of the process. The electron-hole interaction is included in the model through the electrostatic potential, which results in a nonlinear coupling of the electron and hole equations of motion. The coupled time-dependent Schrodinger equation describing the electron and hole dynamics is integrated numerically. The detailed dynamics of the excitonic electron-hole pair in the quantum well is presented for different uniform electric field applied across the structure.

W artykule przedstawiono wyniki badań diagnostycznych silnika spalinowego przy zastosowaniu pakietu analizy falkowej (WPT) i probabilistycznej sieci neuronowej. Obiektem badań był czterocylindrowy silnik spalinowy z zapłonem iskrowym. Głównym celem badań było określenie wpływu symulowanego braku dopływu paliwa do poszczególnych cylindrów na sygnał przyspieszeń drgań kadłuba silnika. Zarejestrowane sygnały przyspieszeń drgań zostały poddane analizie za pomocą WPT w celu określenia entropii sygnału na poszczególnych poziomach dekompozycji. Określona wartość entropii stanowiła podstawę do budowy wzorców stanów pracy silnika przeznaczonych do uczenia sieci neuronowych. Z przeprowadzonych badań wynika, że istnieje możliwość wykorzystania analizy WPT i probabilistycznych sztucznych sieci neuronowych do diagnozowania uszkodzeń silników spalinowych.
An investigation of a fault diagnostic technique for internal combustion engine using wavelet packet transform (WPT) and probabilistic neural network is presented in this paper. The object of research was a four-cylinder spark ignition engine. The main purpose of the research was to determine the effect of the lack of fuel inflow to an individual cylinder of the engine block vibration signal. The vibration signals are decomposed by WPT to obtain the approximated and detailed coefficient and to calculate wavelet packet node entropy. The value of entropy was used as a basis in the construction of the states of engine operation intended for teaching probabilistic neural network. The experimental results indicated that the proposed system using the engine block vibration signal is effective and can be used for fault detection of an IC engine.

Nonnegative matrix factorization (NMF) is one of the most popular machine learning tools for speech enhancement (SE). However, there are two problems reducing the performance of the traditional NMF-based SE algorithms. One is related to the overlap-and-add operation used in the short time Fourier transform (STFT) based signal reconstruction, and the other is the Euclidean distance used commonly as an objective function; these methods can cause distortion in the SE process. In order to get over these shortcomings, we propose a novel SE joint framework which combines the discrete wavelet packet transform (DWPT) and the Itakura-Saito nonnegative matrix factorisation (ISNMF). In this approach, the speech signal was first split into a series of subband signals using the DWPT. Then, the ISNMF was used to enhance the speech for each subband signal. Finally, the inverse DWPT (IDWT) was utilised to reconstruct these enhanced speech subband signals. The experimental results show that the proposed joint framework effectively enhances the performance of speech enhancement and performs better in the unseen noise case compared to the traditional NMF methods.

Opis:
The article presents knowledge about the modified e-learning on-line synchronous teaching of digital systems, which took place in the period of widespread closure of schools during almost the entire school year 2020/2021 at a secondary school with an IT focus. The importance of teaching digital systems in computer science and the integration of teaching into available lessons is briefly clarified. Furthermore, the content of teaching is presented, including its modification by elements of programming by DCBLP discourse and links to existing knowledge about this use from previous years. The subject of research interest will be the specific effects of changes on students’ opinions regarding the content of the subject. For this purpose, a qualitative investigation based on the design of the grounded theory will be used. The work brings partial knowledge that can serve as additional material for the determination of other research questions, hypotheses and identification of potential problems in teaching. The results show the pupils’ interest in the digital systems enriched by the programming discourse reveals the possible perception of a long time distance learning in this area.

The article considers network traffic as an aggregation of information flows from typical information objects, which can include apartment buildings, student campuses, office centers, sports and entertainment facilities of general use, etc. The study showed that the amount of information transferred by the TCP protocol significantly exceeds (by orders of magnitude) the amount of information transferred by the UDP protocol, which illustrates the average daily traffic graph of the amount of information transferred by the TCP and UDP protocols. The methods of traffic analysis were considered, the most significant characteristics of traffic were determined.

Opis:
We study the Mθ/G/1/m and Mθ/G/1 queuing systems with the function of the random dropping of customers used to ensure the required characteristics of the system. Each arriving packet of customers can be rejected with a probability defined depending on the queue length at the service beginning of each customer. The Laplace transform for the distribution of the number of customers in the system on the busy period is found, the mean duration of the busy period is determined, and formulas for the stationary distribution of the number of customers in the system are derived via the approach based on the idea of Korolyuk’s potential method. The obtained results are verified with the help of a simulation model constructed with the assistance of GPSS World tools.

This paper concerns quality evaluation of the telecommunication services: VoIP (representing the RT interactive class) and VoD (representing the MM streaming class). Subjective and objective methods and tools for perceived quality measurement are analyzed and compared. Subjective tests are performed for selected video sequences using the Double-Stimulus Impairment Scale (DSIS) method. Thus the objective algorithms (VQM and VQmon) are calibrated. Speech quality is measured using the objective methods: PESQ and POLQA. Threshold values for network parameters (packet loss rate, delay jitter) are set, that guarantee the acceptable service quality.

This review discusses the book by Aleksander W. Mikołajczak and Patryk Borowiak entitled Design saszetki z cukrem. O komunikowaniu się z rzeczami (On the Design of a Packet of Sugar. How We Communicate with Objects). The text focuses on the interactions between people and objects, a phenomenon intrinsic to postmodernity, or the contemporary consumerist culture. The work is a peculiar biography of the packet of sugar and presents a multifaceted exploration thereof. The authors depart from the commonly conducted statistical analysis of the object of interest and instead endeavour to present the full extent of its existence and all the subsequent stages of its life, pointing to the complexity and the volatility of the process; this should be considered an innovative approach at its own right. The packet of sugar is viewed not only in the sociocultural perspective, but also through the lens of linguistics and onomastics.

We seek for an oscillating center solution of the wave function satisfying the Schrödinger equation for a nonrelativistic charge particle in an arbitrary external field, where the oscillating center of physical system is a motion governing by a guidance formula of the classical mechanics and at the same time, the physical system obeys the rule of quantum mechanics. In terms of our approach, one enables to know how quantum process may actually come about. The results are applied to analyze the Landau level. We explain successfully that the orbit of oscillator center for the Landau level is circle.
