Effective implementation of the digital transformation is becoming crucial for companies in a growing number of sectors. In this article the author describes the concept of using enterprise architecture to coordinate such an initiative for organization networks. The structure of the author’s model has been presented and future directions to improve it have been outlined. Opis:
Purpose: This publication focuses on issues related to logistics management. The aim of this publication is to show the possibility of creating a logistics center within logistic networks. Design/methodology/approach: This publication uses a conceptual method based on observations, sales forecasts and distance analysis of logistics centers. Findings: The analysis of the collected and presented data as part of the concept of creating a logistics center Lviv-Rzeszów shows that such an action is justified, in particular in economic terms. The study shows that the optimization of processes as part of the implementation of the concept would allow for many benefits for the economy and regional development, as well as for the transport and logistics industry itself. Research Limitation/implication: During the study, there were limitations related to obtaining empirical data. The most important implication of the study is the statement that the planned investment will bring significant benefits to entrepreneurs and other market stakeholders. Originality/Value of paper: The publication showed the possibilities of using the new logistics center Lviv-Rzeszów and its impact regional and business development.

Opis:
A concept of the method enabling the self-organization of complex monitoring structures and data transmission into single virtual traffic routes, which are reliable communication media, is presented. Systems based on similar techniques have a high tolerance to interferences and enable dynamic and spontaneous changes in hardware and software to adapt quickly to changing conditions. In industry, there are complex communication systems for the transmission of visual, voice and digital data from the monitoring or control systems. The described method of the self-organization of a multi-agent system is primarily prepared for the implementation of an innovative system for monitoring of rollers of belt conveyors.
Zaprezentowano koncepcję metody umożliwiającej samoorganizowanie się złożonych struktur monitoringu i transmisji danych w jednolite ciągi komunikacyjne tworzące wirtualne, niezawodne medium transmisyjne. Systemy bazujące na podobnych technikach odznaczają się dużą odpornością na awarie oraz dynamiczną, samoistną zmianą struktury sprzętowej lub programowej, adaptującej się do zmiennych warunków pracy. Ze złożonymi strukturami komunikacyjnymi w górnictwie można spotkać się zarówno w przypadku transmisji głosowej, jak i transmisji danych pochodzących z układów monitoringu lub sterowania maszyn. Opisywana metoda samoorganizacji struktury wieloagentowej przygotowywana jest przede wszystkim z myślą o implementacji innowacyjnego systemu monitoringu krążników przenośników taśmowych.

Jednym z charakterystycznym zjawisk współczesnej gospodarki są procesy tworzenia i rozwoju sieci już istniejących. W obecnych warunkach powstaje coraz więcej podmiotów powiązanych ze sobą więziami kooperacyjnymi, które tworzą różnorodne sieciowe formy organizacyjne. Współpraca sieciowa umożliwia przedsiębiorstwom rozwój zdolności relacyjnych, które mogą stanowić istotne źródło przewagi konkurencyjnej, a ich znaczenie powinny odzwierciedlać decyzje strategiczne podejmowane w przedsiębiorstwie.
Today’s business environment consisting of network organizations with growing number of links and interdependencies between companies changes an approach to management. Traditional firm-centric strategies should be complemented by network strategies, since competition increasingly occurs between networks replacing competition between firms. Core competencies also look different from network perspective. The competencies that are important are no longer the ones a company owns, but rather the ones a company can connect to. In order to gain a competitive advantage, it is necessary to create a competitive network which requires developing relationships with customers and other groups of stakeholders. Thus, the necessity of building long-term relationships with the company’s stakeholders should be reflected in the strategy formulation process, including: the mission statement, strategic objectives, as well as plans and programs designed for all firm’s departments.

Przedsiębiorstwo jako podmiot gospodarowania pozostaje jednocześnie organizacją i instytucją. Instytucje – organizacje to inaczej swoistego rodzaju struktury zarządcze. Przedsiębiorstwo stanowi system społeczny o zróżnicowanych interesach różnych grup i jednostek. Dotyczy to tak relacji wewnętrznych jak i zewnętrznych, co głównie wiąże się z interesariuszami otoczenia instytucjonalnego. Im więcej interesariuszy tym większe zacieranie granic między firmami a otoczeniem. Jednocześnie ma miejsce rozwój organizacji wirtualnych, sieciowych i fraktalnych. Efektywność przedsiębiorstw gospodarki sieciowej jest funkcją poziomu kapitału społecznego traktowanego jako agregat instytucji nieformalnych. W gospodarce rośnie rola różnego rodzaju sieci, czemu sprzyja rozwój technologii informatyczno – mobilnych i sieci społecznościowych. W sieciach dominującym rozwiązaniem instytucjonalnym jest infrastruktura kooperacyjna składająca się z takich elementów jak: wspólna wiedza, wzajemność, wiarygodność i wspólne wartości. Powstają różnego rodzaju efekty sieciowe, które mogą nabrać cech dodatnich efektów zewnętrznych. Specyficznym obszarem wykorzystywania technologii informacyjnych i układów sieciowych jest np. obszar Fintech. Mamy tu do czynienia z innowacyjnymi usługami finansowymi opartymi o sieci internetowe. Sprzyja to lepszej regulacji funkcjonowania rynków finansowych. Rozwój gospodarki sieciowej ma wpływ na wzrost dobrobytu społecznego jako formy przejawiania interesu publicznego. Jednoczesne występowanie rosnących korzyści skali produkcji i dodatnich sieciowych efektów zewnętrznych powoduje powstawanie nowych relacji podażowo – popytowo – cenowych o charakterze dodatnich sprzężeń zwrotnych. Połączenie zjawisk ekonomii skali i efektów sieciowych z dodatnimi efektami zewnętrznymi prowadzi do sytuacji monopolu naturalnego. W sieciowym monopolu naturalnym mamy do czynienia z ciągłym zwiększaniem ilości oferowanych dóbr i obniżaniem ich ceny – wyższej od kosztu krańcowego. Dla realizacji interesu publicznego regulacja państwa powinna „utrwalać taką sytuację” i podtrzymywać pozycję rynkową takiej firmy.
As a business entity, the enterprise remains both an organization and an institution. Institutions – organizations are a kind of managerial structure. An enterprise is a social system with diverse interests of different groups and individuals. This applies to both internal and external relations, which mainly involves stakeholders in the institutional environment. The more stakeholders, the more blurring of the boundaries between companies and the environment. At the same time, the development of virtual, network and fractal organizations is taking place. The effectiveness of network economy enterprises is a function of the level of social capital treated as an aggregate of informal institutions. The role of various types of networks is growing in the economy, which is supported by the development of information technology – mobile and social networks. In networks, the dominant institutional solution is a cooperative infrastructure consisting of such elements as: common knowledge, reciprocity, credibility and common values. Different types of network effects are created, which can acquire the characteristics of positive external effects. A specific area of using information technologies and network systems is, for example, the Fintech area. We are dealing here with innovative financial services based on Internet networks. This favors better regulation of the functioning of financial markets. The development of the network economy has an impact on the increase of social well-being as a form of manifesting the public interest. The simultaneous occurrence of growing benefits of the scale of production and positive network external effects causes the emergence of new supply-demand-price relationships with the positive nature of feedback. The combination of economies of scale and network effects with positive externalities leads to the situation of a natural monopoly. In the network natural monopoly we are dealing with a continuous increase in the number of goods offered and a reduction in their price – higher than the marginal cost. For the public interest to be pursued, state regulation should “perpetuate such a situation” and maintain the market position of such a company.

The recent decades have seen the growth in the fields of wireless communication technologies, which has made it possible to produce components with a rational cost of a few cubic millimeters of volume, called sensors. The collaboration of many of these wireless sensors with a basic base station gives birth to a network of wireless sensors. The latter faces numerous problems related to application requirements and the inadequate abilities of sensor nodes, particularly in terms of energy. In order to integrate the different models describing the characteristics of the nodes of a WSN, this paper presents the topological organization strategies to structure its communication. For large networks, partitioning into sub-networks (clusters) is a technique used to reduce consumption, improve network stability and facilitate scalability.

The paradox of enterprise management is the company must continually change in a dynamic and difficult-to-predict environment in order to achieve business continuity and profitability goals. The article describes an implementation of wireless sensor network (WSN) based on the IEEE 802.15.4-2006 standard, which was designed to monitor environmental conditions (e.g. temperature, humidity, light intensity, etc.) on a given area. To carry out this task, a self-organization algorithm called KNeighbors was selected. It exhibits low computational complexity and is satisfactory with respect to energy consumption. Additionally, the authors proposed a novel routing algorithm and some modifications to the MAC layer of the IEEE 802.15.4 standard. The article discusses the selected algorithms and procedures that were implemented in the network.

In network organization knowledge is created in the spontaneously emerging relational systems, forming a self-organizing and informal knowledge islands. An example of such a knowledge network is community of practice, i.e. a group of people working on similar problems and interested in solving them, and therefore cooperating in co-located or dispersed (virtual) environment. The paper presents technological determinants of CoP development.

he article presents some of the chosen aspects of supply chain integration and coordination. Supply chain can be considered as one of the forms of the network organization. The article introduces also issues related to the importance of information systems in ensuring the appropriate degree of integration and coordination. The aim of this article is the indication of the current trends concerning the integration of suppliers and customers in the supply chain and the coordination of the decision of cooperating partners, as well as analysis of the use of information technology to support the process of supply chain integration and coordination.

Obecnie podmioty sieciowe (np. korporacje, sieci sklepów handlowych, szpitali publicznych itd.) poszukują nowych rozwiązań oraz koncepcji systemowych umożliwiających podniesienie efektywność działania na współczesnym rynku. Podejście procesowe w zarządzaniu siecią podmiotów stawia procesy biznesowe oraz klienta (zewnętrznego i wewnętrznego) w centrum zainteresowania kadry zarządzającej. Dążenie do zwiększania satysfakcji interesariuszy, a w szczególności ich oczekiwań i wymagań, wymusza zmianę sposobu postrzegania, zarządzania, doskonalenia sieci podmiotów ze statycznego na dynamiczny. Sprzyja to wzrostowi elastyczności oraz podatności na zmiany podmiotów funkcjonujących w ramach sieci. Dlatego podczas doskonalenia architektury procesów tworzy się odpowiednie warunki do wprowadzania procesowych form organizacyjnych (tzw. tworzenia organizacji procesowej).
Currently, network entities (eg. corporations, retail chain stores, public hospitals, etc.) are looking for new solutions and concepts enabling the system to increase operational efficiency in today's market. Process approach in managing a network of business entities puts business and customer processes (external and internal) at the center of management interest. Striving to increase the satisfaction of stakeholders, and in particular their expectations and requirements, forces a change in the way people perceive, manage, and improve their networks from static to dynamic. This is conducive to an increase in flexibility and susceptibility to changes in operators operating within the network. Therefore, while developing the process architecture, appropriate conditions are created for introducing organizational process processes (so called process organization).

Purpose: Many empirical and review studies have been performed in the management and organization literature from the structural social capital perspective. Since these studies focus on different topics periodically, we aimed to make a bibliometric analysis of the structural social capital literature that allows a regular, systematic, and quantitative evaluation of published articles in management and organization science to identify the underlying structure in this research area and to identify the main research themes of the scholarship. Methodology: The bibliographic matching technique was used for checking international databases to explore the main concepts and themes of the management and organization literature and to identify main themes in the research area. Therefore, this article offers a bibliometric analysis of the literature that allows for a regular, systematic, and quantitative evaluation of published articles to identify their underlying structure and to identify the main research themes in the scholarship. Research data were analyzed using the text mining method, which is a sub-branch of the data mining method and one of the most critical ways to analyze and process unstructured data. Findings: Structural social capital studies were examined in management and organization science databases in three periods forming four years. Although there are no completely different emerging themes, we noticed periodic differences and change in priority rankings. Moreover, we found that the subjects repeat every period with few new concepts. Implications: This research shows the main themes in the management and organization literature, where structural social capital elements are examined together, and covers all areas of management, organization and business science. Considering the main topics of the three periods of this research, there are similarities, namely the words that rank among the top in each period are “innovation,” “entrepreneurship,” “knowledge management,” “performance,” “leadership,” “technology,” and “human resources” and these themes are the most prominent. Originality/Value: This research presents an overview of all past studies that focus on the structural social capital present in social interactions. Since structural social capital influences management and organization literature, it is considered a valuable study and a guide for future research.
