Opis:
The subject of this article is network management through web service calls, which allows software applications to exert an influence on network traffic. In this manner, software can make independent decisions concerning the direction of requests so that they can be served as soon as possible. This is important because only proper cooperation including all architecture layers can ensure the best performance, especially when software that largely depends on computer networks and utilizes them heavily is involved. To demonstrate that the approach described above is feasible and can be useful at the same time, this article presents a switch-level load balancer developed using OpenFlow. Client software communicates with the balancer through REST web service calls, which are used to provide information on current machine load and its ability to serve incoming requests. The result is a cheap, highly customizable and extremely fast load balancer with considerable potential for further development.

Opis:
The paper describes a system designed to manage and collect data from the network of heterogeneous sensors. It was implemented using Erlang OTP and CouchDB for maximum fault tolerance, scalability and ease of deployment. It is resistant to poor network quality, shows high tolerance for software errors and power failures, operates on flexible data model. Additionally, it is available to users through an Web application, which shows just how easy it is to use the server HTTP API to communicate with it. The whole platform was implemented and tested on variety of devices like PC, Mac, ARM-based embedded devices and Android tablets.

The paper presents a practical implementation of the non-classified data hiding system (NDHS) understood as a military platform for information warfare that takes advantage of the hidden data transmission for voice connections in order to gain informational lead over a potential enemy. The NDHS performs here as a botnet network that is managed by the hidden transmission controller referred to as the master resident. Research studies are dedicated to investigation of various connections in heterogeneous links as well as functionalities of such components as hidden protocol bridges and the master resident.

Artykuł jest poświęcony problematyce outsourcingu w obszarze ochrony zdrowia – zarządzania siecią szpitali publicznych. Proces wdrażania outsourcing ma przede wszystkim zapewniać poprawę efektywności, jak również wzrost skuteczności działania podmiotów medycznych funkcjonujących w ramach sieci szpitali publicznych. Podstawą do przygotowania materiału stanowiącego treści niniejszego opracowania była kwerenda literaturowa tematyki omawianego zagadnienia. Ponadto wykorzystano istniejące raporty, wyniki badań rynku outsourcingu oraz analizy danych pochodzących ze innych źródeł na przykład z Głównego Urzędu Statystycznego (GUS).
The article is devoted to the issue of outsourcing in the area of health care – the management of the network of public hospitals. The implementation process outsourcing is primarily to provide efficiency improvements, as well as increase the effectiveness of medical entities operating within the network of public hospitals. The basis for the preparation of the material constituting the content of this study was a literature review of the subject matter of the discussed issue. In addition, we used existing reports, market research outsourcing and analysis of data from other sources, for example, the Central Statistical Office (GUS).

W niniejszym opracowaniu przedstawiono koncepcję oraz przykładowe rozwiązanie sterowanego magazynu energii z możliwością włączenia w nadrzędny system zarządzania. Przedstawiono układ sterowania oraz część energetyczną, przebadano pracę układu oraz przedstawiono wyniki badań symulacyjnych w konfiguracji autonomicznej oraz włączonego do systemu elektroenergetycznego. Przedstawiono wpływ działania magazynu na wybrane parametry w odległym miejscu w sieci.
The study presents the concept and exemplary implementation of a modified controlled energy storage system (RESS) with possibility of an interacting with a controlled grid management system. Controlled RESS can independently inject or draw (in a contolled way) active and reactive power, with local and also distant control from point of a network. Active and reactive power set points are independent, so RESS can draw active/reactive power in one phase can simultaneously inject in other. The internal control system and the power circuit of converter were presented. The autonomous and on-grid operations was examined and the results of simulation tests were presented. The influence of distantly controlled system activity on selected parameters at a remote point of the network was presented. Good static and dynamic results were obtained. The author proposes using a controlled RESS in a managed power system with local or distant control to compensate an active or reactive power locally, and also in a distant point of a power network. Controlled RESS it that way can lower energy transmission and transformation losses, and increase a power quality on a network.
