The age of Enlightenment is first of all the epoch of explosion of lay and anticlerical thought. They come into being deistical, agnostic and atheistic systems then. Simultaneously the theology of the 18th century is in the deep stagnation and with the large problems we can find the decisive conceptions and solution here. The atrophy of metaphysics is as such the characteristic feature of Enlightenment and the fall of interest of the theology; which links with the crisis of culture and the crisis in Church. The lack of new conceptions is visible of the great thinkers, the main existing previously trends are continued, well-known in Church from several centuries, named the concyliarism with susceptibility to galicalism solutions, recognized as the infallibility of the whole Church only at the council. The Catholic thought of the epoch of Enlightenment begins accepting the nationalistic patern of the epoch. The belief weakens in primacy and the infallibility of Bishop of Rome. Therefore it should not surprise, that the intellectual vitality shows only dissatisfied of episcopate directions – the status quo of the Church, and namely French and Italian jansenists and the disputing with them Italian ultramontans. The main aim of presented article is the presentation main points of that polemics, especially with the perspective of works of Mauro Cappellari.

Opis:
The paper is based on the public speeches delivered by M. Laenga, a contemporary professor of Rome University La Sapienza. Thus the paper presents the main currents, educational technologies, clashes and contestation, and also perspectives and ways of pursuing education over the last thirty years in Italy. Characterizing the main currents, attention was focused on the development of Catholic, Marxist education, and secular democracy. The specific character of the development of social education, sociology of education, comparative education, special and occupational formation have also been indicated. The final part has outlined the perspectives for the development of education as a humanistic science, using the achievements of other sciences.

W artykule omawiam trylogię autobiograficzną José Mauro de Vasconcelosa: Moje drzewko pomarańczowe, Rozpalmy słońce i Na rozstajach. Utwory te postrzegane mogą być jako powieści fantazmatyczne dla dzieci i młodzieży, gdzie wspomnienia z dzieciństwa zostały przez pisarza obudowane fantazmatami, które kreował jako dziecko. Istotny jest tu sposób prezentowania dzieciństwa z perspektywy dziecka jako podmiotu wyobrażającego, stającego się dzieciństwem bogatym w obrazy o proweniencji baśniowej. Odczytanie znaczenia tych wyobrażeń pozwala podkreślić ich katartyczny charakter. Dziecięce przeżywanie momentów granicznych osadzone jest tutaj celowo w sferze kompensacyjnych projekcji. W swej prozie autobiograficznej Vasconcelos odtwarza zatem nie tylko zdarzenia, które go ukształtowały, ale przede wszystkim sferę dziecięcych fantazmatów jako przykład magicznego myślenia dziecka o sobie i świecie, skłaniającego go do ważnych, czasami jednak tragicznych refleksji.
The article discusses a trilogy of the author’s autobiographical works encompassing My sweet orange tree, Let’s light the sun up and At the crossroads. These works can be seen as phantasmal stories for children and youth, which are based on author’s memories from childhood, significantly embedded in phantasmata that he has created as a child. An important feature is presenting childhood from the perspective of a child who becomes the imagining subject. This image of a childhood thus becomes rich in depictions stemming from fairy tales. Deciphering meanings of these depictions allows to underscore their cathartic character. The child’s experiences of transitional moments is here purposefully embedded in the sphere of compensatory projections. It is in his autobiographical prose that Vasconcelos therefore not only recreates the events that has shaped them, but first and foremost explores the sphere of children’s phantasm as an example of child’s magical thinking about the world and the self. These thoughts direct a child towards significant, though often tragic reflections.

In this paper, we combine two alternative procedures for decomposing the Gini index: the Silber matrix approach and the Dagum technique based on Gini mean difference. This combined decomposition can be used for overlapping as well as no overlapping population subgroups. The presented decomposition procedure derives the within-group, the between-group, and the overlapping inequalities by exploiting all of the information on income distribution contained in one matrix accounting for pair wise disparities between per capita income shares. Moreover, this matrix approach can serve the scope of counting the frequency of overlapping, providing new insights for a more complete analysis of overlapping. The suggested methodology is applied to survey data on Italian employee incomes in 2000 and 2008.

The “really realist theory” (théorie réellement réaliste, TRR) is not conceived by the Author as a theory, which is limited to the recognition that judges create the law (as it is today commonly accepted), but as a theory, which follows Ronald Dworkin’s ideas by shifting the capital of “Law’s Empire” from the legislature to the judiciary. The truth is that nobody creates the law, since it is found by the judges when deciding individual cases, by the legislators in limiting the administrative discretion, by the constituent assembly in restricting the arbitrariness of legislature etc. In the first section of the paper the TRR is presented as a form of evolutionism. Firstly, because creationism – a naive idea that the law can be created ex nihilo – is strongly rejected by the TRR. Secondly, since the TRR adapts some ideas of Charles Darwin in relation to law. In the second section of the paper the evolution of law is outlined: from the state of the law called “judicial” to the states called “legislative”, and “constitutional”. Finally, in the last section the TRR is applied to a very important current problem: the finding of an equilibrium between freedom and security in the time of the global fight against terrorism.

Philosophical hermeneutics has become an unavoidable reference in the field throughout the twentieth century but has seldom been extended to draw conclusions in the area of political theory. Two intellectuals that have contributed to such a project are Charles Taylor and Gianni Vattimo, although they exhibit some important differences in key aspects of this enterprise, both at the level of the conceptual premises and at that of the prescribed policies and objectives. Here I examine these thinkers’ notion of tradition – an essential feature of hermeneutical theories – its ontological underpinnings, and the place each of them assign to it in sociopolitical decision-making, especially in the context of multicultural societies. In the end, I argue for the superiority of Taylor’s model of understanding and employing tradition in current political and moral debates.

This article proposes the application of regression trees for analysing income polarization. Using an approach to polarization based on the analysis of variance, we show that regression trees can uncover groups of homogeneous income receivers in a data-driven way. The regression tree can deal with nonlinear relationships between income and the characteristics of income receivers, and it can detect which characteristics and their interactions actually play a role in explaining income polarization. For these features, the regression tree is a flexible statistical tool to explore whether income receivers concentrate around local poles. An application to Italian individual income data shows an interesting partition of income receivers.
