Opis:
Image restoration is the process of estimating the original image content from a degraded picture. In this paper, the Richardson-Lucy iterative algorithm was developed to improve the quality of degraded medical images. It has been assumed that medical images are exposed to two types of degradation. The first type is the blur function in the Gaussian form with different widths, i.e. σ = 1 , 2, and 3. The second type of degradation was assumed to be of the independent white Gaussian noise type with different signal-to-noise ratio values: SNR = 10, 50 , and 100. The results obtained from the adaptive filter are compared, quantitatively, with different conventional filters: inverse, Wiener, and constraint least square, by applying different measures, such as: power signal to noise ratio (PSNR), structural similarity index (SSID), and root mean square error (RMSE). The comparison showed that the adaptive recovery filter achieves better results.

Opis:
Operational Transresistance Amplifier (OTRA) has been a topic of great interest recently. OTRA has proved itself to be an appropriate device for the analog applications. As MOS scaling suffers from various problems, carbon nanotube field effect transistor (CNTFET) has came into light as one of the brightest alternative for FET (Field Effect Transistors) based devices. This work has introduced a new CNTFET based OTRA which is capable of realising inverse low pass filter using two OTRAs and few passive elements. CNTFET based OTRA has been designed and simulated at 10nm technology node. The working ability of the designed model has been conformed using HSPICE simulation. It is compared with conventional CMOS based OTRA. The comparative analysis has revealed improvement in various performance parameters. The paper also presents how change in number of carbon nanotube in CNTFETs in OTRA circuit affects the transresistance gain and input impedance. The optimized results are also discussed to improve transresistance gain and input impedance. The paper also dealt with the realisation of inverse low pass filter using proposed CNTFET based OTRA.

Opis:
W pracy przedstawiono zastosowanie metody identyfikacyjnej do rekonstrukcji sił działających w układzie kontaktu koła i szyny. Wyniki obu stopni weryfikacji zamieszczone w pracy potwierdzają skuteczność metody w zagadnieniach nieliniowych i niekolokacyjnych.
In the paper the identification method is used for rail wheel system load reconstruction. The method bases on structural filter coefficient identification. The filter further is used for load estimation from the vibrations acceleration time histories. The tested method was verified with simulation data, obtained from simple 7 DOF model, and next with experimental data. Time histories used for verification were recorded during freight car running on the rails with different quality and with different speeds. Forces acting in the wheel rail system were stored as well as vibration accelerations in selected object points. Results of both levels verification, presented in the paper, acknowledge the method efficiency in the nonlinear and non-colocated applications.

Opis:
This paper addresses an online 6D SLAM method for a tracked wheel robot in an unknown and unstructured environment. While the robot pose is represented by its position and orientation over a 3D space, the environment is mapped with natural landmarks in the same space, autonomously collected using visual data from feature detectors. The observation model employs opportunistically features detected from either monocular and stereo vision. These features are represented using an inverse depth parametrization. The motion model uses odometry readings from motor encoders and orientation changes measured with an IMU. A dimensional-bounded EKF (DBEKF) is introduced here, that keeps the dimension of the state bounded. A new landmark classifier using a Temporal Difference Learning methodology is used to identify undesired landmarks from the state. By forcing an upper bound to the number of landmarks in the EKF state, the computational complexity is reduced to up to a constant while not compromising its integrity. All experimental work was done using real data from RAPOSA-NG, a tracked wheel robot developed for Search and Rescue missions.

Opis:
Based on vector diffraction theory and inverse Faraday effect, the light induced magnetization distribution of a tightly focused azimuthally polarized Bessel–Gauss beam superimposed with a helical phase and modulated by an optimized multi belt complex phase filter (MBCPF) is analyzed numerically. It is noted that by adjusting the radii of different rings of the complex phase filter, one can achieve many novel magnetization focal distributions, such as sub-wavelength scale (0.29λ) and super-long (71λ) pure longitudinal magnetic probe and magnetization chain composed of nine, six and four magnetic spots of sub-wavelength scale. The authors expect that these results pave the path for fabricating magnetic lattices for spin wave operation, multiple atoms or magnetic particle trapping and transportation, confocal and magnetic resonance microscopy, as well as multilayer ultrahigh density magnetic storage.

Opis:
This paper proposes a generalized fractional controller for integer order systems with time delay. The fractional controller structure is so adopted to have a combined effect of fractional filter and Smith predictor. Interestingly, the resulting novel controller can be decomposed into fractional filter cascaded with an integer order PID controller. The method is applied to two practical examples i.e. liquid level system and Shell control fractionator system. The closed-loop responses resulting from the proposed method are compared with that of the available methods in the literature. For quantitative evaluations of the proposed method, Integral Absolute Error (IAE) and Integral Square Control Input (ISCI) performance criteria are employed. The proposed method effectively enhances the closed-loop response by improving the IAE values, reducing the control effort inputs to achieve the desired output. The disturbance rejection and robustness tests are also carried out. The robustness test reveals a significant improvement in the maximum absolute sensitivity measure. That is displayed in numerical simulations of the paper.
