Opis:
A protocol, called common driving notification protocol (CDNP), is proposed based on the classified driving behavior for intelligent autonomous vehicles, and it defines a standard with common messages and format for vehicles. The common standard format and definitions of CDNP packet make the autonomous vehicles have a common language to exchange more detail driving decision information of various driving situations, decrease the identification time for one vehicle to identify the driving decisions of other vehicles before or after those driving decisions are performed. The simulation tools, including NS- 3 and SUMO, are used to simulate the wireless data packet transmission and the vehicle mobility; the experiment results present that the proposed protocol, CDNP, can increase the reaction preparing time with maximum value 250 seconds, decrease the identification time and the average travel time. Prospectively, it is decided to implement the CDNP as a protocol stack in the Linux kernel to provide the basic protocol capability for real world transmission testing.

Opis:
Autonomous driving is no longer just an idea of technology vision instead a real technical trend all over the world. The continuing development to a further level of autonomy requires more on mobile robots safety while bringing more challenges to human-vehicle interaction. A robot autonomous vehicle (AV) as a research platform operates an experimental study on human-AV-interaction (HAVI) and performs a novel method for mobile robot safety assurance. Not only autonomous driving technology itself but human cognition also performs an essential role in how to ensure better autonomous mobile robot safety. A Wizard-of-Oz experiment in the university combing a survey-based study indicates public attitudes towards driverless robot vehicles. HAVI experiment have been carried through light patterns designed for experiment. This paper presents an attempt to investigate humans’ acceptance and emotions as well as a validation to bring the mobile robot vehicle to a high-level autonomy.

Opis:
Nowadays, with highly developed instrumentation, sensing and actuation technologies it is possible to foresee an important advance in the field of autonomous and semi-autonomous transportation systems. Among the most promising transport infrastructures the articulated bus is an interesting, low cost and friendly option. In this paper an experimental set-up for research on automatic control of articulated bus is presented. Comprised by a mobile platform (the articulated bus) fully instrumented and a ground test area of asphalt roads inside CSIC premises, this experimental facility allows full testing of automatic driving systems. Paper presents obtained experimental results linked to real time testing of proposed control-perception architectures and a human-machine-interface developed to ease progress in control system evaluation.

Opis:
The complexity and dynamics in groupage traffic require flexible, efficient, and adaptive planning and control processes. The general problem of allocating orders to vehicles can be mapped into the Vehicle Routing Problem (VRP). However, in practical applications additional requirements complicate the dispatching processes and require a proactive and reactive system behavior. To enable automated dispatching processes, this article presents a multiagent system where the decision making is shifted to autonomous, interacting, intelligent agents. Beside the communication protocols and the agent architecture, the focus is on the individual decision making of the agents which meets the specific requirements in groupage traffic. To evaluate the approach we apply multiagent-based simulation and model several scenarios of real world infrastructures with orders provided by our industrial partner. Moreover, a case study is conducted which covers the autonomous groupage traffic in the current processes of our industrial parter. The results reveal that agent-based dispatching meets the sophisticated requirements of groupage traffic. Furthermore, the decision making supports the combination of pickup and delivery tours efficiently while satisfying logistic request priorities, time windows, and capacity constraints.
