W artykule zaprezentowano problematykę potrzeb człowieka oraz hierarchizacji potrzeb konsumpcyjnych. Dużo uwagi poświęcono sprecyzowaniu zakresu treściowego pojęcia "potrzeba". Owa konieczność jest spowodowana wielością spotykanych w literaturze definicji, a także utożsamianiem tego terminu z pokrewnymi kategoriami, jak: motywy, aspiracje czy pragnienia. Podjęto również próbę uogólnienia istniejących koncepcji i wskazania na różnorodność teorii wyjaśniających zachowania konsumentów w dziedzinie podejmowania decyzji konsumpcyjnych, mających na celu zaspokojenie w jak najlepszy sposób odczuwanych przez nich potrzeb.
The article is concerned with human needs and the hierarchy of consumers' needs. Considerable emphasis has been on pinning down the term 'need' due to the diversity of definitions available in the literature, as well as equating it with such related categories as motives, aspirations, or desires. An attempt has also been made in the article to generalize the existing concepts and point out the diversity of the theories explaining consumers' behaviour in terms of making consumption decisions intended to satisfy best the consumers' needs.

The article deals with the issues of the role of multicultural/intercultural education in ensuring the cultural rights of the bearers of various traditions in the process of their interaction in an ethnically diverse human environment. The hypothesis of the publication is the following: multicultural/intercultural education forms (builds) a platform for the realization of cultural rights of representatives of various ethnic communities in the process of their interaction, preventing the violation of their rights. Clarifying the content of the concepts of multicultural education and intercultural education begins with exposing the content of the concepts of multiculturalism and interculturalism. The content of the concept of ethnic interaction as well as the structure of this phenomenon is presented. The etymology of multicultural/intercultural education and its contemporary value is discussed. The author concludes that the practice of multicultural/intercultural education in North American and European countries has proven its viability in forming a platform for ensuring equal opportunities for the realization of the cultural rights of the bearers of various ethnocultural traditions and ways of life, particularly in the educational process. It opens up opportunities for equal ethnic interaction at the level of minority groups and at the level of minorities and the majority – the mainstream of the country of residence – and helps to avoid violations of their rights thanks the exclusion of prejudices, getting to know each other better. As a result, opportunities for interaction in the plane of psychological perception replace the paradigm of opposition “we-they (strangers)” with the paradigm of compromise “we-they (others).” The prospects for the development of multicultural/intercultural education for Ukraine are analyzed in the context of conflict-free interethnic interaction.
Artykuł porusza kwestie roli edukacji wielokulturowej/międzykulturowej w zapewnieniu praw kulturowych nosicieli różnych tradycji w procesie ich interakcji w etnicznie zróżnicowanym środowisku ludzkim. Hipoteza publikacji jest następująca: edukacja wielokulturowa/międzykulturowa tworzy (buduje) platformę dla realizacji praw kulturowych przedstawicieli różnych społeczności etnicznych w procesie ich interakcji, zapobiegając naruszaniu ich praw. Wyjaśnienie treści pojęć „edukacja wielokulturowa” i „edukacja międzykulturowa” rozpoczyna się od ujawnienia zawartości pojęć „wielokulturowość” i „międzykulturowość”. Przedstawiono treść pojęcia „interakcji etnicznej” oraz strukturę tego zjawiska. Omówiono etymologię edukacji wielokulturowej/międzykulturowej i jej współczesną wartość. Autor stwierdza, że praktyka edukacji wielokulturowej/międzykulturowej w krajach Ameryki Północnej i Europy dowiodła swojej przydatności w tworzeniu platformy zapewniającej równe szanse realizacji praw kulturowych nosicieli różnych tradycji etnokulturowych i sposobów życia, zwłaszcza w procesie edukacyjnym. Otwiera możliwości równych interakcji etnicznych na poziomie grup mniejszościowych oraz na poziomie mniejszości i większości – głównego nurtu kraju zamieszkania – i pomaga uniknąć naruszeń ich praw dzięki wykluczeniu uprzedzeń i lepszemu poznaniu się. W rezultacie możliwości interakcji na płaszczyźnie percepcji psychologicznej zastępują paradygmat opozycji „my-oni (obcy)” paradygmatem kompromisu „my-oni (inni)”. Perspektywy rozwoju edukacji wielokulturowej/międzykulturowej na Ukrainie są analizowane w kontekście bezkonfliktowej interakcji międzyetnicznej.

Poruszono takie kwestie, jak relacyjność i desygnaty funkcji, problem czasu i skali badań oraz dylemat porządku przestrzennego i spójności. Autorzy postulują rozwój koncepcji krytycznych opartych na neofunkcjonalizmie. Stwarza to możliwość rozwoju badań, które zwracają uwagę na lokalne wymiary życia społecznego i gospodarczego. Podejście to może być bardzo twórcze dla planowania przestrzeni lokalnych i podstaw społecznego zaangażowania w proces podnoszenia warunków życia, wzmacniania tożsamości kulturowej oraz kreowania samych miejsc.
The content of the work includes an in-depth reflection on the issue of functional research in geographical studies of rural areas and related disciplines (mainly spatial management). In human geography and spatial management, the functional concept has played an important role in describing and explaining reality, laying the foundations for various research programs. The most important goal of the paper is an attempt to identify the basic cognitive and practical dilemmas in functional studies of rural areas. The considerations contained in the article concern the problems of choices faced by researchers in designing and conducting functional studies and related fields of study. Issues such as relationality and function designations, the problem of time and scale of research, and the dilemma of spatial order and coherence were raised. The development of critical concepts based on neofunctionalism is postulated. This creates an opportunity to develop research that draws attention to the local dimensions of social and economic life. This approach can be very creative for planning local spaces and social involvement in the process of improving living conditions, strengthening cultural identity and creating the places themselves.

Celem opracowania jest przedstawienie znaczenia faz cyklu życia pracownika w organizacji w działaniach związanych z zarządzaniem zasobami ludzkimi. Artykuł zawiera definicję cyklu życia pracownika wraz z ważnymi koncepcjami wyróżniającymi się na tle najczęściej opisywanych w opracowaniach z zakresu zarządzania zasobami ludzkimi. Szczególne znaczenie dla wartości poznawczej opracowania mają zestawienia punktów styku pomiędzy organizacją i pracownikiem, budujących doświadczenia pracownika. Ich analiza pozwoliła na zdefiniowanie i scharakteryzowanie sześcioetapowego modelu cyklu życia pracownika w organizacji. Sporządzony model został odniesiony do koncepcji budowania zaangażowania pracowników. Dokonano autorskiego powiązania zadań zarządzania zasobami ze sposobami budowania zaangażowania pracowników. Rozwinięciem przedstawionej koncepcji cyklu życia pracownika w organizacji była budowa systemu najlepszych praktyk wykorzystywanych w procesach zarządzania ludźmi wraz ze sposobami ich pomiaru. W konsekwencji wskazano na odpowiedzialność aktorów systemu zarządzania zasobami ludzkimi za prawidłowy przebieg cyklu życia pracownika. Stwierdzono, że zaangażowanie top managementu, menedżerów linowych i pracowników przy wsparciu osób zajmujących się zarządzaniem zasobami ludzkimi nie powoduje skrócenia cyklu życia pracownika lub ogranicza niewłaściwy przebieg poszczególnych faz. Jest to niezmiernie ważne z punktu widzenia zarządzania organizacjami, gdyż zapewnia wysoką retencję pracowników oraz pozwala na prawidłowe zarządzanie wydajnością pracowników.
The model of the employee life cycle in an organization has an important position in human resource management activities. The study includes a definition of the employee life cycle with concepts that stand out from those most often described in human resource management studies. Fundamental to the research value of this study are touchpoints between the organisation and the employee that build the employee experience. Their analysis has allowed the definition and characterisation of a six-stage model of the employee life cycle in an organisation. The model prepared was related to the concept of building employee engagement. An authorial linkage was made between resource management duties and responsibilities and ways of building employee engagement. The development of the presented concept of the employee life cycle in an organisation was the construction of a best practices used in employee management processes with Key Performance Indicators. Consequently, the responsibility of the actors of the human resource management system for the right course of the employee life cycle was indicated. It was concluded that the involvement of top management, line managers and employees with the support of human resource managers results in no shortening of the employee life cycle or reduces the inappropriate phases. This is critically important from an organisational management, as it provides high employee retention and allows for accurate management of employee performance.

The article presents the theoretical analyses and empirical research concerning the relationship between employees’ beliefs with reference to the human nature and expressed as “the concepts of human nature”, and the dimensions of moral competence. The results obtained allow to state that the individuals who employ the concept of human nature described as “social” or “humanist” while performing the processes of evaluation, present a more highly intensified moral competence than the people who employ the model of man as an “economic” or “imperfect” being. The article also presents the implications of the obtained results for the processes of human resources management.

Work is a very important activity for Homo sapiens, because it has distinguished this species from the animal world and enabled it to create other civilizations, which testifies to its psychophysical development. Although work has always been the key factor stimulating the phylogenetic development of people, and is likely to continue to do so, this fact was recognized only after people had become capable of scientific reflection on work. This article constitutes an attempt at presenting the process of shaping views on the moral value of human work and the factors conditioning the prevailing views on this issue.
Praca jest działalnością szczególnie doniosłą dla gatunku Homo sapiens, ponieważ dzięki niej zdołał się on wyodrębnić ze świata zwierzęcego oraz mógł tworzyć kolejne cywilizacje, które wskazują na jego psychofizyczny rozwój. Ale chociaż praca była decydującym czynnikiem stymulującym filogenetyczny rozwój ludzi i jest nim nadal, to jednak dostrzeżenie tego faktu stało się możliwe dopiero wówczas, gdy ludzie osiągnęli zdolność do naukowej refleksji nad pracą. Artykuł ten jest próbą skrótowego ukazania procesu kształtowania się poglądów na moralną wartość pracy ludzkiej oraz na uwarunkowania istniejących poglądów na ten temat.

The paper has outlined a broad perspective of references for the (particular and general) theory of relativity to various domains of human knowledge and to technique. These references are presented both in their current and historical dimension. The following issues are discussed: 1) the place of the theory of relativity in the development of physics and cosmology, 2) its contribution to the development of mathematics, 3) the significance of the theory of relativity in the development of technique, and 4) the role of the theory of relativity in the development of philosophy. The theory of relativity is – aside to quantum mechanics – one of the two basic paradigms (relativistic paradigm) of contemporary physics. Likewise it plays a fundamental role in further development of physics, astronomy and cosmology, contributing at the same time to the development of mathematics and philosophy. The author indicates that it is groundless to refer to the theory of relativity in the efforts to relativise and subjectivise cognitive and axiological questions. The theory of relativity does not relativise all its concepts of magnitudes, but it even confers the absolute status on certain magnitudes, which have been deemed relative before.

The aim of this article was to find an answer to the question about the role played by the case-law of the Federal Constitutional Court of Germany in the case-law of the Constitutional Tribunal of Poland, and to the question about the sort of cases heard by the CT, in which references to the FCC case-law occurred most often. An attempt to answer the above-mentioned questions were asked after empirical research. The judgments of the CT, publicly available on the Online Judgment Portal on the website of the CT, served as empirical material. In the case-law of the CT, it was not clearly indicated whether, in the case of referring by the CT to the case-law of the FCC, the Tribunal did it for comparative purposes, whether it was related to the interpretation of legal norms by the CT or for another purpose.
Celem niniejszego artykułu było znalezienie odpowiedzi na pytanie o rolę, jaką w praktyce orzeczniczej Trybunału Konstytucyjnego odgrywa orzecznictwo Federalnego Sądu Konstytucyjnego, oraz na pytanie o rodzaj spraw rozpoznawanych przez TK, w których odwołania do orzecznictwa FSK występowały najczęściej. Próba odpowiedzi na ww. pytania została udzielona po przeprowadzeniu badań empirycznych. Jako materiał empiryczny posłużyły orzeczenia TK, ogólnodostępne w Internetowym Portalu Orzeczniczym na stronie TK. W orzecznictwie TK nie zostało jednoznacznie wskazane, czy w wypadku odwoływania się przez TK do orzecznictwa FSK, TK dokonywał tego dla celów porównawczych, czy miało to związek z dokonywaniem przez TK wykładni norm prawnych lub w innym celu.

A multitude of attempts to reform the Polish healthcare system cannot be treated as fully successful. Therefore, there is a need to determine new possible methods that can solve financial, social, and environmental problems burdening the system. Thus, the purpose of this article is to present necessary steps that have to be taken in order to conduct a successful reform. Moreover, the article presents an overview of the current state of the theory of sustainable organisation, sustainable human capital management and resilience. Proper implementation of the key elements of the above-mentioned theories may turn out helpful in the process of modernisation of human capital management in the Polish healthcare system.

Opis:
Head and neck cancers constitute the sixth most common malignant tumours worldwide, and are one of the majors problems of global public health. In the oral cavity there are several types of oral cancers, but around 90% are squamous cell carcinoma. Many different risk factors play a role in the etiology of head and neck cancer. The aim of this study is presentation from the aspect of molecular, viral and bacterial infection. Knowledge about all factors which influence the development of these malignances is essential for diagnostics and successful treatment.

The aim of the article is to point to the connections that combine the modern concept of human rights and selected theories of natural law. The author's goal is to indicate that the common element of the concept of human rights and natural law is the concept of human dignity. Historically, the concept of human rights can be regarded as a result of different conceptions of natural law developed by various thinkers for many centuries. The author of the article uses theoretical analysis. The research question concerns the relationships between theories of human rights and selected concepts of natural law.

W artykule podkreślono współczesne tendencje zmiany społecznej w globalnym kontekście i jej główne czynniki – wiedzę, informację i technologię. Rozwój technologii informacyjnych i komunikacyjnych przez ostatnie 50 lat znacząco zainspirował myślicieli społecznych do dokładnego przeanalizowania roli zaznaczonych zjawisk. Ich refleksje i wnioski zaowocowały nie tylko różnorodnymi teoriami zmian społecznych. Tacy myśliciele, jak Daniel Bell czy Manuel Castells, zostali wybrani do tego artykułu częściowo dlatego, że zaproponowali specyficzne nazwy dla danego etapu rozwoju: społeczeństwo postindustrialne oparte na zmianach w użytkowaniu wiedzy i informacji w usługach w ujęciu Bella oraz Castellsa społeczeństwo sieciowe oparte na produkcji informacji i roli technologii sieciowych w społeczeństwach globalizowanych w krajach rozwiniętych i rozwijających się na całym świecie. Te koncepcje zostały porównane z kilkoma innymi definicjami oraz teoriami informacji i wiedzy również w związku z rozwojem technologii komunikacyjnych.
In the paper the main accent is put on the contemporary social change in the global context and its main factors that are knowledge, information and technology. The development of communication and information technologies during the last fifty years significantly inspired social thinkers to analyse thoroughly the role of the mentioned phenomena. Their reflections and conclusions resulted not only in various sociological and economic theories of social change. Such thinkers as Daniel Bell and Manuel Castells were selected for the paper partly because they coined the name for the current stage of social development, that is post-industrial society based on the changes in knowledge and information use in services in the Bell’s concept and Castells’s network society based on information production and network technologies roles in the globalized societies in the developed and developing countries all over the world. These concepts were compared with several other definitions and theories of information and knowledge in connection with communication technology development.
