Opis:: Issues concerning protection of buildings against the impact of underground coal mining pose significant scientific and engineering challenges. In Poland, where mining is a potent and prominent industry assuring domestic energy security, regions within reach of mining influences are plenty. Moreover, due to their industrial character they are also densely built-up areas. Because minerals have been extracted on an industrial scale in majority of those areas for many years, the rock mass structure has been significantly disturbed. Hence, exploitation of successive layers of multi-seam deposits might cause considerable damage – both in terms of surface and existing infrastructure networks. In the light of those facts, the means of mining and building prevention have to be improved on a regular basis. Moreover, they have to be underpinned by reliable analyses holistically capturing the comprehensive picture of the mining, geotechnical and constructional situation of structures. Scientific research conducted based on observations and measurements of mining-induced strain in buildings is deployed to do just that. Presented in this paper examples of damage sustained by buildings armed with protection against mining influences give an account of impact the mining exploitation in disturbed rock mass can have. This paper is based on analyses of mining damage to church and Nursing Home owned by Evangelical Augsburg Parish in Bytom–Miechowice. Neighbouring buildings differ in the date they were built, construction, building technology, geometry of the building body and fitted protection against mining damage. Both the buildings, however, have sustained lately significant deformation and damage caused by repeated mining exploitation. Selected damage has been discussed hereunder. The structures have been characterised, their current situation and mining history have been outlined, which have taken their toll on character and magnitude of damage. Description has been supplemented with photographic documentation.

In the paper there was presented the method of identification of the damage state. The method meets the certainty of their occurrence and their consequences. The matrix of critical state indexes was established. The method was described on the example of identification of the critical states of sugar centrifuge type ACWW 1000.

Opis:: W artykule zaprezentowano uszkodzenia wybranych układów bezpieczeństwa pojazdów komunikacji miejskiej. Skupiono się na uszkodzeniach w układzie kierowniczym. Dane pozyskano z Miejskiego Przedsiębiorstwa Komunikacyjnego w Lublinie. Badaną grupę pojazdów stanowiły autobusy komunikacji miejskiej takie jak: Solaris Urbino 12, Mercedes Benz, Autosan San-City 9LE oraz Autosan Sancity 12LF. Celem prowadzonych badań było określenie jak często ulega awarii analizowany układ.
The article presents some damage of safety systems on public transport vehicles. The article focused on the steering system damages. The data were obtained from the Municipal Transport Company in Lublin. The test vehicle group were public buses such as: Solaris Urbino 12, Mercedes Benz, Autosan Sancity 9LE and Autosan Sancity 12LF. The aim of this study was to determine how often are failures of the analyzed system.

Opis:: Stand damage risk model was applied to three forest districts located in the Białowieża Primeval Forest: Browsk, Hajnówka and Białowieża. For this purpose, information contained in the database of the State Forests Information System was used. The obtained values of the stand damage risk factor allowed assigning each stand to one of the six risk classes. Higher class indicates higher damage risk to stands. The share of the stand area was calculated for each class. The weighted average of the areal shares of stands in the two highest damage risk factor classes was used as a measure of wind damage risk to forests. The values of this measure for individual forest districts were as follows: Browsk – 27.3%, Hajnówka – 33.0%, Białowieża – 38.3%. The degree of risk to these forests ranges from average to high, which is mainly because of large proportion of the high, old−growth spruce stands. Forest stands of the Białowieża Primeval Forest with a high risk factor are threatened by damage in the event of strong winds in this area.

Opis:: The study determines the extent of soil disturbances occurring during mechanised harvesting operations in a beech timber stand and investigates whether applying different research methods can be used to classify, in a comparable way, forest areas with different levels of soil damage. In the analysed stand, felling and on-site processing were conducted with chainsaws, while extracting – using an farm tractor. After the completion of logging operations, visible soil disturbances on each sample plot were measured, including their area, volume and depth, and the value of five most common indicators of soil damage was calculated. The share of disturbed surface area, the volume of soil disturbances and different soil damage indicators allowed sample plots to be arranged in the same way according to increasing levels of soil damage occurring during harvesting. A different order was observed only in relation to the depth of the ruts formed. The similarity of the applied measures and classifications of soil disturbances indicates that all of the methods can be applied to make simple comparisons of the degree of soil damage. Because field trials are easy to perform, soil damage indicators based on a visual assessment of soil condition, without the need to take measurements, are worth recommending at first. A fuller picture of the level and nature of detected soil damage, however, can be obtained by taking into account the depth of the disturbance.

Opis:: The subject of the research was a undercarriage leg of a gyroplane made of composite materials. The aim of the work was to assess the level of damage initiation of the composite gyroplane undercarriage. In the study, a structural capacity analysis was carried out, taking into account the phenomenon of damage initiation. Numerical calculations were conducted based on the finite element method in the ABAQUS® software. The issue was solved according to the Newton-Raphson algorithm.

Opis:: Podstawową funkcją prawa cywilnego, a szerzej prawa prywatnego, jest regulacja stosunków prawnych pomiędzy podmiotami prawa polegająca na ocenie ich powstania, zmiany lub ustania. W przeciwieństwie jednak do prawa publicznego nie dysponuje instrumentami ochrony przed obrotem dopalaczami o takiej samej skuteczności. Nie oznacza to, że regulacje cywilnoprawe są bezradne wobec tego społecznie szkodliwego zjawiska. Możliwe jest bowiem wyróżnienie płaszczyzny prewencyjnej oraz następczej wymierzonej przeciwko obrotowi tymi środkami zastępczymi. Pierwsza z nich będzie związana głównie z administracyjnoprawną reglamentacją handlu wspomnianymi substancjami. Nie budzi żadnych wątpliwości, że przedmiotem sprzedaży nie powinno być każde dobro wpisujące się w art. 535 i 555 k.c. Z kolei druga skierowana będzie przeciwko producentom, dystrybutorom oraz sprzedawcom, którzy pod pozorem legalności doprowadzają do wyrządzenia szkody na osobie.
The basic function of civil law, and more broadly private law is the regulation of legal relations between legal entities deciding on their effective creation, change or termination. However, unlike public law, it does not have instruments to protect against the turnover of legal highs with the same effectiveness. This does not mean that civil law regulations are helpless against this socially harmful phenomenon. It is possible to distinguish between a preventive and follow-up plane against turnover with these substitutes. The first of these will be mainly related to the administrative regulation of trade in these substances. There is no doubt that the object of sale should not be any good that appears in art. 535 and 555 c.c. In turn, the second one will be directed against producers, distributors and sellers who, under the guise of legality, cause damage to the person.

Opis:: The study presents the measuring position for determination of the dynamical behavior of vegetables and fruit. The main element of the device is an instrumented rigid physical pendulum made of carbon fi ber. The pendulum arm was developed as a double arch connected with the external links. This construction enables attaining the desirable value of the quotient of the mass moment of inertia of the pendulum arm with a fruit and the arm without it as well as appropriate rigidity. The studies with the pendulum device application simulated the apple drop from a required height. The tests measuring pendulum rotation angle and fruit response force in time facilitated determination of the force – displacement correlation at impact event. The obtained displacement and impact force courses in time were presented graphically.
W pracy przedstawiono stanowisko do badań dynamicznych warzyw i owoców. Głównym elementem urządzenia jest sztywne wahadło fizyczne wykonane z włókien węglowych. Ramię wahadła zbudowano w postaci podwójnego łuku związanego zewnętrznymi łącznikami. Taka konstrukcja umożliwia uzyskanie korzystnej wartości ilorazu masowego momentu bezwładności ramienia wahadła wraz z owocem i ramienia bez owocu jak również odpowiednią sztywność. Badania z użyciem wahadła imitowały spadek jabłka z zadanej wysokości. Zastosowane testy pomiarowe kąta obrotu wahadła i siły reakcji owocu w czasie pozwoliły na wyznaczenie zależności siły w funkcji przemieszczenia podczas uderzenia Uzyskane przebiegi przemieszczenia i siły uderzenia w czasie przedstawiono w formie graficznej.
