Opis:
Subject and purpose of work: The study aims to evaluate the growth performance of spice crops in Haryana state of India. Materials and methods: The study is based on secondary data obtained over the period of 17 years i.e., from 2001-2002 to 2017-2018. Four spice crop – ginger, turmeric, garlic and fenugreek were selected from rabi and kharif season on the basis of the largest area sown. In order to analyze the data descriptive statistics (mean and C.V.) and CGR (compound growth rate) were employed. Results: The study revealed a significant positive growth rate of 2.20%, 4.50% and 2.20% in the area, production and productivity of ginger in the district of Panchkula, respectively. In the district of Yamunanagar, a growth rate 13.80% and 10.20% was found in the area and production of turmeric. However, a negative productivity growth rate of -3.20% was also revealed. A positive growth rate 1.50%, 3.30% and 0.17% was found in the area, production and productivity of garlic in Karnal district. In the district of Yamunanagar, a growth rate for fenugreek of 7.30% and 7.60% and 13.90% in the area, production and productivity was found. The state of Haryana recorded a significant growth of 1.7%, 2.8% and 1.1% per annum in the area, production and productivity of spice crops respectively. Conclusions: The study revealed a positive growth rate across all the selected spice crops, indicating improving prospects of spice crops in Haryana state.

Opis:
The coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic affected every country worldwide. In particular, outbreaks in Belgium, the Czech Republic, Poland and Switzerland entered the second wave and was exponentially increasing between July and November, 2020. The aims of the study are: to estimate the compound growth rate, to develop a modified exponential time-series model compared with the hyperbolic time-series model, and to estimate the optimal parameters for the models based on the exponential least-squares, three selected points, partial-sums methods, and the hyperbolic least-squares for the daily COVID-19 cases in Belgium, the Czech Republic, Poland and Switzerland. The speed and spreading power of COVID-19 infections were obtained by using derivative and root-mean-squared methods, respectively. The results show that the exponential least-squares method was the most suitable for the parameter estimation. The compound growth rate of COVID-19 infection was the highest in Switzerland, and the speed and spreading power of COVID-19 infection were the highest in Poland between July and November, 2020.

Opis:
Silicon organic thin films have been prepared by RF hollow cathode plasma chemical vapor deposition system, from hexamethyldisilazane (HMDSN) as the source compound, under different plasma conditions, namely feed gas and applied RF power. The feed gas has been changed from argon to nitrogen, and the power has been varied between 100 W and 300 W in $N_{2}$/HMDSN plasma. The plasma active species (electrons, ion flux rate, and UV radiation) contributing to the films growth mechanisms have been identified by electrical probes and optical emission spectroscopic analysis. The films have been investigated for their thickness and deposition rate, using quartz crystal microbalance, and sensing properties relating to humidity and gas ($NH_{3},$ $CO_{2}$ and $O_{2}$) sorptive investigations, using the piezoelectric effect of quartz crystals of the quartz crystal microbalance. The effect of the different plasma conditions on the plasma phase characteristics and deposited thin films properties, as well as the correlations between deposition rate and plasma characteristics and between sorptive properties, water contact angles and thin films surface morphology are reported.
