Zgodnie z przekonaniami anarchistycznymi zawarcie związku małżeńskiego oznacza poddanie swojego życia intymnego kontroli państwa i/lub kościoła. Mimo to wśród anarchistów zdarzają się śluby, co nie spotyka się z potępieniem tego środowiska. Wiele osób identyfikujących się z anarchizmem opowiada się za wprowadzeniem związków partnerskich. Taka postawa wydawać się może niekonsekwentna. Niniejszy artykuł to próba wyjaśnienia jej przyczyn. Przedstawia poglądy osób środowisk (post)anarchistycznych na małżeństwo i związki partnerskie (zwłaszcza te zawierane przez osoby o orientacji homoseksualnej). Autorka miała okazję zapoznać się z różnorodnością tych opinii jako uczestniczka grupy anarchofeministycznej A-fe, działającej w Warszawie w latach 2007-2009. Tekst wyjaśnia różnicę miedzy anarchizmem a anarchofeminizmem, zaliczając ten ostatni do postanarchizmu, a także odkrywa związki pomiędzy anarchofeminizmem a queer. Wielość opinii anarchistów na temat związków partnerskich uwidacznia analiza dyskusji toczonej na anarchistycznym portalu informacyjnym na temat wrocławskiego Marszu Równości, który odbył się w 2009-ym roku właśnie pod hasłem ich legalizacji. Opinie osób działających w grupach i innych inicjatywach anarchofeministycznych autorka przedstawia na podstawie rozmów przeprowadzonych z nimi na początku 2012-ego roku, a także dwóch dyskusji poświęconych związkom partnerskim. Pierwsza z nich miała miejsce podczas festiwalu Kłir Szyft w 2008-ym roku, druga na skłocie Syrena w 2011-ym roku. Autorka rozważa, czy anarchistyczna i anarchofeministyczna krytyka małżeństwa zdezaktualizowała się w związku z przemianami społecznymi - współwystępowaniem wielu typów rodzin i różnorodnością stylów życia. W związku z tym analizuje rolę małżeństwa we współczesnej biopolityce. Spojrzenie anarchofeministek i anarchofeministów, zwłaszcza osób uczestniczących w dyskusji na festiwalu Kłir Szyft na legalizację związków partnerskich okazuje się bliskie perspektywie Judith Butler w eseju „Is Kinship Always Already Heterosexual”? Z powodu tego podobieństwa, autorka zastanawia się nad możliwością wpisania grup anarchofeministycznych do kontinuum, które w polskich warunkach, według teoretyka queer, literaturoznawcy i aktywisty w kampanii „Niech nas zobaczą” Tomasza Basiuka, tworzą LGBT i queer. Snuje również hipotezy na temat (nie)trwałości tego kontinuum.
According to anarchism, getting married or starting a civil partnership means subordinating one's intimate life to state and/or church. However, some anarchists happen to be wives and husbands, which does not make them less respected in their environment. Many people who identify with anarchism support legalization of civil partnerships. Such attitudes may seem to be inconsequential. The article attempts to explain reasons for them. It presents (post)anarchist approaches to marriage and civil partnerships (especially those created by the gay and lesbian community) in Poland. The author had the opportunity to come across the opinions as a participant of the anarchafeminist group A-fe, active in Warsaw in the years 2007-2009. The text explains differences between anarchism and anarchafeminism identifying the latter with postanarchism, as well as reveals relations between queer and anarchafeminism. Anarchists' plurality of opinion is made visible via the analysis of the discussion about Equality March [Marsz Równości] which was held in Wroclaw in the year of 2009 and was for the recognition of gay and lesbian (romantic) relationships by the law. The discussion took place on an anarchist information portal. Anarchafeminist points of view are portrayed on the basis of interviews with activists made in the ongoing year and two debates about same-sex partnerships. The first was organized during Kłir Szyft festival [Queer Shift festival] in 2008 while the second one took place at Syrena squat in 2011. The article discusses whether anarchistic critique of marriage is still valid now, when numerous types of family coexist and variety of lifestyles seems to be accessible. Because of that the author analyzes the role of marriage in the contemporary biopolitics. Anarchafeminist perspective on same-sex partnerships appears to be significantly similar to Judith Butler's point of view presented in her essay "Is Kinship Always Already Heterosexual”. Taking that similarity into consideration, the author wonders whether it is possible to include anarchafeminists supporting LGBT struggle for civil partnership into the continuum of LGBT and queer which, according to the theorist of queer and activist in "Let Them See Us" Campaign [kampania "Niech nas zobaczą"] Tomasz Basiuk, exists in Poland. The author also speculates about the (in)stability of the continuum.

Breast cancer screening is based on X-ray mammography, while ultrasound is considered a complementary technique with improved detection in dense tissue. However, breast cancer screening requires a technique that provides repeatable results at the inspection interval which cannot be achieved with manual breast exploration. During the last years there have appeared several approaches to overcome this limitation by means of automated ultrasonic tomography performed with motorized probes or with a large set of array transducers. This work addresses these problems by considering a quite simple and low-cost arrangement, formed with a ring of conventional medical-grade array probes which are multiplexed to the electronics to build Full Angle Spatially Compounded (FASC) images. The work analyzes the performance of such arrangement in terms of resolution and isotropy, showing by numerical modelling and experimentally that it provides high resolution and homogeneity in the whole imaged region. The implementation of this technique would provide more than one circular FASC per second and a whole breast volume image in 1–2 minutes with conventional technology, a process fast enough to be clinically useful. Moreover, the automated technique is repeatable and can be used by the clinician to perform immediately the diagnosis without requiring additional data processing.

The small angle X-ray scattering (SAXS) pattern of the homotetrameric asparaginase II from Escherichia coli was measured in solution in conditions resembling those in which its crystal form was obtained and compared with that calculated from the crystallographic model. The radius of gyration measured by SAXS is about 5% larger and the maximum dimension in the distance distribution function about 12% larger than the corresponding value calculated from the crystal structure. A comparison of the experimental and calculated distance distribution functions suggests that the overall quaternary structure in the crystal and in solution are similar but that the homotetramer is less compact in solution than in the crystal.

Dynamic angle measurement (DAM) plays an important role in precision machining, aerospace, military and artificial intelligence. Because of its advantages including high sensitivity, solid state and miniaturization, fibre-optic gyroscope (FOG) has great application prospects in the field of DAM. In this paper, we propose a dynamic angle metrology method based on FOG and a rotary table to evaluate the DAM accuracy with FOG. The system synchronously collects data from the FOG and rotary table, and analyses the DAM accuracy of the FOG for different sway conditions compared with that of the angle obtained from the rotary table. An angle encoder in the rotary table provides absolute or incremental angular displacement output with angular displacement measurement accuracy of 10′′ (0:0028°) and angular displacement repeat positioning accuracy of 3′′ (0:00083°), and can be used as an angle reference. The experimental results show that the DAM accuracy of the FOG is better than 0:0028° obtained with the angular encoder, and the absolute DAM accuracy of the FOG is better than 0:0048° for given conditions. At the same time, for the multi-path signal synchronization problem in the metrology field, this paper proposes a signal delay measurement method combining test and algorithm procedures, which can control a delay within 25 μs.

A study was undertaken to investigate the shear strength parameters of treated sands reinforced with randomly distributed glass fibers by carrying out direct shear test after seven days curing periods. Firstly, we studied the fiber content and fiber length effect on the peak shear strength on samples. The second part gives a parametric analysis on the effect of glass fiber and clinker residue content on the shear strength parameters for two types of uniform Algerian sands having different particle sizes (Chlef sand and Rass sand) with an average relative density Dr = 50%. Finally, the test results show that the combination of glass fiber and clinker residue content can effectively improve the shear strength parameters of soil in comparison with unreinforced soil. For instance, there is a significant gain for the cohesion and friction angle of reinforced sand of Chlef. Compared to unreinforced sand, the cohesion for sand reinforced with different ratios of clinker residue increased by 4.36 to 43.08 kPa for Chlef sand and by 3.1 to 28.64 kPa for Rass sand. The feature friction angles increased from 38.73° to 43.01° (+4.28°), and after the treatment, clinker residue content of soil evaluated to 5% (WRC = 5%).

The axial, radial and tangential velocity profiles of six fluids were extracted from computational fluid dynamics simulation results at points in a pump chamber 1 mm distant from the blades in a vortex pump at the specific speed of 76. The critical radius was specified in the axial velocity radial profiles to determine the impeller inlet and outlet at six viscosities and part-load, design, and over-load points. A mean-line flow model and hydraulic loss model were built from the profiles. The incidence, incidence loss in the inlet, deviation angle, and slip factor in the outlet were calculated. The impeller theoretical head, pump hydraulic efficiency and volumetric efficiency were analyzed. It was shown that the axial, radial and tangential velocity profiles relate closely to the flow rate as usual, but also the viscosity, especially at low flow rates and in the inlet. The low flow rate and viscosity lead to near zero axial and radial velocities, a faster tangential velocity than the blade speed, negative incidence, and a small incidence loss coefficient in the inlet. The dimensionless critical radius ranged within 0.77–0.89 and reduces with the increasing flow rate and viscosity. The mean slip factor is between 0.11 and 0.20 and rises with the increasing flow rate and viscosity. The mean incidence loss coefficient is within 0.0020–0.15 and augments with the increasing flow rate but increases with the decreasing viscosity under part-load conditions. The theoretical head estimated by using the fluid tangential velocity between the outlet of the impeller and the inlet of the chamber is more reasonable.

This article presents the problem of surveying landslide prone areas. Discussed are the possibility of using photogrammetry methods for digital imaging, creating Digital Terrain Models (DTM) and Digital Elevation Models (DEM) of slope surface and combining these with the ground’s angle of internal friction, cohesion and hydrogeological data. Unmanned Aerial Systems (UASs) with inclined high precision cameras show different slope angles than UASs with vertical cameras. Expressly, we can see places within the landslide area where the angle of internal friction and cohesion are low. These places are the most likely to suffer further mass movements causing fissures and ground displacements. In the observed landslide area we separated the steep parts of the slope, with low cohesion values, and the slight parts of the slope, with low values of angle of internal friction. In these different areas, landslides can evolve in different ways and at different speeds. The Factor of Safety (FS) was calculated for different types of area which allowed the probability of new mass movements to be checked for different areas. This method can be useful for C-B and X-Band PSI Interferometry Data. Because of the damage potentially incurred by landslides, there is a need to better understand these natural phenomena, especially their methods and speed of development and how they can be prevented from forming in the future.

Opis:
One-antenna GPS systems present no possibility for the direct determination of vehicle slip angle. This is an easy task for dual antenna systems; however, many users have this kind of apparatus. In this paper, a method of estimation of this parameter, which is important for the estimation of vehicle steerability factors, is proposed (e.g. TB factor calculated on the basis of data from input test [8]). The method is based on two parameters measured by a one-antenna GPS system; these are the heading angle created from the Doppler channel coming directly from the GPS engine, and the yaw rate measured by an IMU device integrated and cooperating with the GPS engine. The sideslip angle which was calculated according to the proposed method is compared with an equivalent angle calculated on the basis of data from a non-slip measurement of velocity components for selected point of vehicle acquired using. The presented method is illustrated with examples from real tests. In the author’s opinion, the sideslip angle calculated with the application of measurement data obtained from a one-antenna GPS device could be used in practice. From comparison with another upper mentioned method, it follows that the differences between average values of sideslip angles obtained from both considered methods is not greater than 8%.

The article demonstrates a method of measuring energy requirements of a cutting process as researched at the Department of Process Engineering, Safety and Ecotechnology. The specially constructed workstation and examples of results obtained are presented. The cutting process has been conducted using stainless steel and low-friction coated blades with each blade's entry conditions variables, such as speed and the angle of entry, determined. In order to compare cutting resistance caused by friction between the blades' surface and the cut substance, wire cutting has also been performed.
W artykule przedstawiono metodę badania energochłonności procesu cięcia opracowaną w Zakładzie Inżynierii Procesowej, Bezpieczeństwa i Ekologii. Zaprezentowano skonstruowane stanowisko badawcze oraz przykładowe wyniki badań wykonane z wykorzystaniem tego stanowiska. Proces cięcia prowadzono nożami ze stali narzędziowej oraz pokrytymi powłokami charakteryzującymi się małym współczynnikiem tarcia, przyjmując w planie badań dla każdego noża zmienne wejściowe: kąt ostrza oraz prędkość cięcia. Aby porównać opory cięcia wynikające z tarcia materiału o powierzchnię noża przeprowadzono także cięcie materiału drutem.

PIC microcontroller has a vital role in various types of controllers and nowadays the presence of PIC microcontroller is unavoidable in most control applications. This paper describes the enhancement of soft starting of induction motors using PIC microcontroller. Soft starting is required for the induction motors with reduced applied voltages so that the peak starting current is reduced and the startup of the motor is smooth with controlled torque and reduced mechanical vibrations, reduced starting current with correspondingly reduced bus voltage drops. While many of the available schemes of soft starting offer better results in view of smooth starting process, the proposed methodology offers soft starting as well as it cares about the source current quality. In contrast to the conventional multistep starting scheme, in this work a continuously controlled starting scheme is proposed. The three phase AC voltage controller topology is used as the core controller. In each of the half cycles, instead of a single conduction period with a single delay angle, the proposed AC voltage controller is switched symmetrically in each half cycle with multiple pulses in each quarter cycle. Symmetrically placed fixed numbers of switching pulses are used. The paper also describes the various time ratio controls namely the phase angle controller, the extinction angle controller and the symmetrical angle controller. The design aspects of the proposed soft starting scheme and the validation of the proposed system in the MATLAB SIMULINK environment are presented in this paper.

Designing roofs and embankments proves to be a good topic for a term paper for students of Descriptive Geometry. It is an excellent opportunity for actual application of the Monge method (2D structures) in 3D modelling using CAD software and also physical creation of a model of a roof (using paper) and embankment (using powders). The present paper includes an interesting proposal of conducting a project which could verify the theorem in practice as early as at the beginning of one’s technical course at university.
Kształtowanie dachów oraz nasypów okazuje się być dobrym tematem na prace semestralne dla studentów w ramach przedmiotu geometria wykreślna. Opis:
The impact of pregnancy on the anterior-posterior sacral orientation and its relation to lumbopelvic pain and weight gain has not been fully recognized. This longitudinal study aimed to compare the sacral inclination angle in women between their early and advanced pregnancy and at 6 months postpartum. The authors also searched for a correlation between the sacral inclination and lumbopelvic pain, BMI and change in body mass. Methods: Thirteen healthy women participated in the study. Data were collected at 8–16 and 35–38 weeks of gestation, and at 27–31.5 postpartum weeks. At each session, the women’s sacral inclination angles were measured using the Saunders digital inclinometer. Data were also collected on lumbopelvic pain, BMI and body mass gain/loss. Results: There was no effect of the evaluation period on the sacral inclination ( p > 0.05); however, various individual values of the sacral inclination in pregnancy and postpartum were noted. In advanced pregnancy, 61.5% of the women had recurrent pain in the lumbopelvic region. The sacral inclination did not correlate with the lumbopelvic pain, BMI and body mass change ( p > 0.05) in the pregnancy and postpartum periods. Conclusions: Advanced pregnancy did not influence sacral inclination. However, individuals varied in their responses. Therefore, we suggest that an individually-based physical therapy approach concerning proper posture during and after pregnancy should be emphasized. The sacral inclination had no impact on the occurrence of recurrent lumbopelvic pain. BMI and changes in body mass did not influence the sacral inclination in advanced pregnancy and at 6 months postpartum.

According to some authors it is estimated that around 80% of accidents at sea are caused by human and organizational errors (HOE). In order to gain knowledge of phenomena that occur during ship operations, a decision was made to design and build a test site for carrying out model-based investigations of ships, including in situations of hazard to buoyancy. The model-based investigations are used as the basic and universal method for forecasting ship dynamic properties. The results of initial research on the dynamic impact of air flow on an 888 project type ship model are presented in the elaboration. The research has been executed at a test stand located in the Polish Naval Academy. The experimental results have been compared with theoretical calculations for angle of dynamic heel. Input parameters for the tests and calculations have been defined in accordance with recommendations of the Polish Register of Shipping (PRS) and International Maritime Organization (IMO) (IMO Instruments).

The conditions of the screening process in a fixed string sieve designed by the author have been formulated. The string sieve was designed for separating seeds of 5 cereal species (wheat, rye, barley, oats and triticale). The width of the separating groove was set at 1 mm at the beginning of the screen and 5 mm at the end of the screen. It has been assumed that seeds have a spheroidal shape and that their motion is initiated by positioning the string sieve at an appropriate angle. The results of a theoretical analysis revealed that at the given parameters of a string sieve, the above angle is determined only by the thickness and width of separated seeds. The sieve’s angle of inclination should be set at 45° to propel seeds into motion and at 50° to ensure the continuity of the screening process. Such a large setting angle is not recommended because it increases the sieve’s height and deteriorates the quality of the separation process. The problem can be solved by setting the separator bucket into motion and separating seeds at a small inclination angle of the string sieve.
