Opis:: Machining accuracy can be considerably affected by deflections of machine tool components and the workpiece. This work presents a new approach for real-time deflection compensation, based on control integrated models. A real-time material removal rate (MRR) simulation determines the depth of cut which is used for process force calculation by Kienzle-Equations. Machine tool and workpiece deflections are then derived from a mechanical model using the calculated process forces. For this purpose, control based signals are used as model inputs. The total deviation is sent to the position controller as a setpoint offset. A dynamometer was applied to validate the simulated process forces. The presented approach was validated for cylindrical turning operations on chucked steel shafts. The experiments were carried out on a high-precision slant bed lathe. The results show, that geometrical errors could be reduced by more than 70% on average.

Opis:: Health care workers (HCW) worldwide are especially exposed to injury by sharp instruments in the course of their duty. The most often executed procedures with injury risk are: intramuscular or subcutaneous injection (22%), taking blood samples, or during intravenous cannulation (20%), and repeatedly replacing the cap on an already used needle (30%). Even a minor sharp injury with only a small loss of blood carries the risk of transfer of over 20 pathogens: Hepatitis B Virus (HBV), Hepatitis C Virus (HCV), HIV/AIDS virus, malaria, syphilis, tuberculosis, brucellosis, herpes virus and diphtheria. The World Health Organization (WHO) estimates that more than two million health care workers experience the stressful event of a percutaneous injury with a contaminated sharp object each year (25-90% of them, however, remain unreported). These exposures result in about 16,000 infections with HCV, 66,000 with HBV and about 1,000 (200-5000) with HIV, which lead to about 1,100 deaths or significant disability. Exposures to sharp injuries and their consequences are highly preventable through simple interventions, such as HBV vaccination, education and providing containers for sharp instruments. Specific guidelines, similar to the American Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) regulations that have lowered by up to 88% of needle stabbing incidents, should be introduced by the European Union (EU) and other countries. The results of a review of reports leads to the following conclusions: 1) elaboration and implementation of new State regulations, especially in EU countries and in countries where such regulations do not exist; 2) the training of health care personnel should always be undertaken for new employees, and periodically for those already employed; 3) periodical control by appointed inspectors of knowledge of procedures for the prevention of injuries by sharp instruments among health care workers; 4) introducing and training in the use of equipment, which can prevent the sharp injuries; 5) an advanced monitoring system of sharp injuries sustained by worker should also be introduced. Successful implementation of these prevention measures will result in progress for public health and HCW’s health and safety.

Opis:: In order to advance modern information technologies, progress in both the fabrication of magnetic nanostructures and of complex materials, from which small magnetic entities - like the skyrmions present in MnSi - emerge and in developing measurement techniques are desired. Here the sensor-based stray field detection using tailor-made micro-Hall magnetometers has proven to be a versatile tool for studying the magnetization reversal of individual magnetic nanostructures, domain wall motion in thin films, as well as the local stray field close to macroscopic samples. In this article we demonstrate that the local stray field can be used to accurately map out the B-T phase diagram of MnSi and serve as a guidance for simultaneously-performed electronic transport measurements. The presented study also serves as a proof-of-principle experiment for future combined investigations of electronic transport and magnetization focusing on electrically-contacted magnetic nanostructures.

Opis:: This article presents the results of the organoleptic evaluation of the hen eggs obtained from organic and conventional farms located in Pomeranian Province. The eggs were bought in the stores located in Gdynia. An organoleptic analysis of raw and boiled eggs from two kinds of egg farming, organic and conventional one, was performed. The eggs were assessed by 36 consumers. The analysis was carried out by means of double blind pick and organoleptic evaluation was done with five point rating scale. The final result was calculated assuming the determined significance coefficients for the defined quality parameters. The carried out studies confirmed the increasing interest in organic food, including organic hen eggs, however, the high price is a factor limiting the consumption of organic eggs. The organoleptic quality of the organic eggs was rated very high, whereas their tastiness (palatability) is highest value of the organic eggs. The low rating of conventional eggs could be caused by the long storing time and inappropriate storage conditions.
Artykuł prezentuje wyniki konsumenckiej oceny organoleptycznej jaj kurzych pochodzących z hodowli ekologicznej i konwencjonalnej prowadzonych w województwie pomorskim. Jaja zostały zakupione w placówkach handlowych na terenie miasta Gdyni. Ocena organoleptyczna została przeprowadzona dla jaj kurzych surowych i gotowanych z dwóch sposobów chowu ekologicznego i konwencjonalnego. Oceny dokonała grupa 36 konsumentów. Badanie przeprowadzono metodą podwójnie ślepej próby, a oceny organoleptycznej jaj kurzych surowych i po ugotowaniu dokonano wykorzystując skalę pięciopunktową. Wynik końcowy obliczono przyjmując zamieszczone współczynniki ważkości dla oznaczanych parametrów jakościowych. Przeprowadzone badania wykazały, że wzrasta zainteresowanie żywnością ekologiczną, w tym ekologicznymi jajami kurzymi, a czynnikiem znacznie ograniczającym konsumpcję jaj ekologicznych jest wysoka cena. Jakość organoleptyczna jaj ekologicznych została oceniana bardzo wysoko, przy czym największą wartoscią jaj ekologicznych jest ich smakowitość wynikająca z przyjętego sposobu żywienia dla ekologicznego chowu zwierząt. Na niską ocenę sensoryczną jaj konwencjonalnych mógł wpłynąć sposób chowu kur oraz ich żywienia. Niska ocena jaj konwencjonalnych prawdopodobnie wynikała także ze stwierdzonego ich długiego okresu przechowywania i niewłaściwych warunków przechowywania.

Opis:: Sauerkraut is a popular food product in Poland. The consumption of sauerkraut, according to different sources, ranges from 4 to 5 kg/person/year. The objective of this study was to provide information on the nutritional and health properties of sauerkraut and to assess some selected distinctive features of sensory quality of sauerkraut from organic and conventional farming. The hypothesis of the study assuming that organic sauerkraut has a better tastiness, has been verified positively. The assessed types of sauerkraut have significantly different taste and aroma, the consumers have valued the organic sauerkraut significantly higher than the sauerkraut from conventional farming. No statistically significant difference was indicated in the assessment of sauerkraut from organic farming and conventional, only the aroma was statistically significant difference.
Kapusta kiszona jest bardzo popularnym produktem żywnościowym w Polsce. Spożycie to kształtuje się według różnych źró- deł od 4 do 5 kg/osobę/rok. Celem pracy było przybliżenie wiedzy na temat właściwości odżywczych i zdrowotnych kapusty kiszonej oraz ocena wybranych wyróżników jakości sensorycznej kapusty kiszonej otrzymanej z kapusty uprawianej w sposób ekologiczny i konwencjonalny. Postawiona w pracy hipoteza o wyższej smakowitości ekologicznej kapusty kiszonej została częściowo zweryfikowana pozytywnie. Oceniane kapusty kiszone znacznie różniły się smakiem i aromatem, zdecydowanie wyżej konsumenci ocenili kapustę z produkcji ekologicznej. Nie stwierdzono statystycznie istotnej różnicy w ogólnej ocenie kapusty kiszonej ekologicznej i konwencjonalnej, jedynie aromat był cechą statystycznie różnicującą.

Opis:: The investigation of strong automorphisms of Witt rings is a difficult task because of variety of their structures. Cordes Theorem, known in literature as Harrison-Cordes criterion (cf. [1, Proposition 2.2], [3, Harrison's Criterion]), makes the task of describing all the strong automorphisms of a given (abstract) Witt ring W = (G, R) easier. By this theorem, it suffices to find all such automorphisms ơ of the group G that map the distiguished element -1 of the group G into itself (i.e. ơ(-1) = -1) in which the value sets of 1-fold Pfister forms are preserved in the following sense: ơ(D(1, α)) = D(1, ơ(α)) for all α ∈ G. We use the above criterion and the well-known structure of the group G as a vector space over two-element field F2 for searching all automorphisms of this group. Then we check Harrison-Cordes criterion for found automorpisms and obtain all the automorpisms of a Witt ring W. The task is easy for small rings (with small groups G). For searching of all strong automorpisms of bigger Witt rings we use a computer which automatizes the procedure described above. We present the algorithm for finding strong automorphisms of a Witt rings with finite group G and show how this algorithm can be optimized.

Opis:: Two Witt rings that are not strongly isomorphic (i.e., two Witt rings over two fields that are not Witt equivalent) have different groups of strong automorphisms. Therefore, the description of a group of strong automorphisms is different for almost every Witt ring, which requires the use various tools in proofs. It is natural idea to use computers to generate strong automorphisms of the Witt rings, which is especially effective in the case of the finitely generated Witt rings, where a complete list of strong automorphisms can be created. In this paper we present the algorithm that was used to generate strong automorphisms from the infinite group of strong automorphisms of the Witt ring of rational numbers W(Q).

Opis:: In [5] it was shown that two number fields have isomorphic Witt rings of quadratic forms if and only if there is a Hilbert symbol equivalence between them. A Hilbert symbol equivalence between two number fields K and L is a pair of maps(t,T), where t: K ^∗/K^∗2→L^∗/L^∗2 is a group isomorpism and T: Ω_K→Ω _L is a bijection between the sets of finite and infinite primes of K and L, respectively, such that the Hilbert symbols are preserved: for any a; b∈K^∗=K^∗2and for any P∈Ω_K,(a; b)_P= (t(a), t(b))_T(P) A Hilbert symbol equivalence between the field Q and itself is called rational self-equivalence. In [5] the authors present a construction of equivalence of two fields starting from the so called Hilbert small equivalence of two fields. We use this idea for constructing infinite set of rational self-equivalences.
