Opisano rozwój ówczesnej Stoczni Szczecińskiej Vulcan w Szczecinie oraz wpływ na rozwój dyrektora Roberta Zimmermanna. Przedstawiono genezę złożenia przez armatora HAPAG z Hamburga zamówienia w Szczecinie oraz dane techniczne nowo zbudowanego statku. Na koniec opisano sukcesy statku pasażerskiego s.s. „Deutschland” oraz ośmiokrotne zdobycie przez niego trofeum „Błękitnej Wstęgi Atlantyku”.
The history of passenger vessel s.s. „Deutschland”, built on the beginning of XX Century in Szczecin Shipyard Vulkan in Szczecin has been presented in the paper. The development of Szczecin Shipyard Vulcan was described. Genezis of HAPAG from Hamburg Order for building in Szczecin and technical data of new passenger vessel was presented. On the end of paper, successes of passenger vessel s.s. „Deutschland” and eight-time vinning in “Blue Riband of Atlantic” trophy competitions were described.

Encrypted in Derrida’s contribution to the Capri Seminar on Religion in 1994 are three retrievals: of his discussions of speech and of systems of inscription; of a concealment of splittings in the supposed continuities of traditions; and of a complicity between the operations of religion and those of a dissipation of the unities of science, Enlightenment, and knowledge, into proliferating autotelic tele-technologies. These retrievals take place between the lines of this discussion of faith, knowledge and religion, which arrives in two halves, each in twenty-six sections. The first half arrives in italics, as spoken on the day, and ends by invoking Voltaire on toleration and a contrast between Christianity as Institution and Christianity as the legacy of Jesus and the Apostles. The second half, appended as a written supplement, with footnotes, is signed and dated April 26, 1995. Husserl’s epoche arrives as recurrent performance, challenging the unity of Heidegger’s Ereignis; contrasting modes for the arrival of futurity are invoked in a juxtaposition of the names: Kant, Hegel, Husserl, Heidegger, and Bergson, thus providing more than two sources for Derrida’s meditations on religion.

For a long time André Gide had been considered as one of the loyal "friends of the U.S.S.R.". However, after his trip to the Soviet Union in 1936, he published essays in which he expressed his strong disappointment. In this article main lan-guage features that are used for the transmission of the author’s impressions from the journey are analyzed, in particular the degree of interference of the to-talitarian state in the citizens’ life and the consequences of this interference.

The aim of the present work was to evaluate the topography of spirochetes’ cells Borrelia burgdorferi s.s. B31 in atomic force microscope (AFM). Results: The length of spirochetes B. burgdorferi has ranged between 15.38-22.68μm. The cells of spirochetes do not constitute structures of a fixed diameter and height. Thus, in order to identify real parameters of cells, the horizontal distance and vertical distance have been used in the measurements. The average value of a spirochetes’ diameter has been estimated by taking series of measures and it is 0.40 μm. The average value of a spirochetes’ height has been estimated by taking series of measures and it is 70.14 nm. The analysis of a relation between measured parameters of spirochetes: diameter and height revealed that along with the growth of diameter of a bacteria cell, its height also grows. The average value of a fibers’ diameter has been estimated by taking series of measurements and it is 0.09 μm and the average height of fibers was 7.91 nm. Conclusions: The atomic force microscope (AFM) is a modern tool with a broad spectrum of observatory and measure abilities and is a technique which has been used in biology and microbiology to investigate the topography of surface and in the evaluation properties of cells.

Polskie śpiewy na Boże Ciało, zawarte w kancjonale Jagodyńskiego (wyd. 1638, 1695), liczą 13 utworów, w tym 7 to tłumaczenia łacińskiej poezji powstałe najprawdopodobniej pod koniec XVI i na początku XVII w., zaś 6 jest owocem twórczości ówczesnych poetów i kompozytorów. Tłumaczenia były zasadniczo wzorowane na strukturze poetyckiej łacińskich tekstów, natomiast pieśni o proweniencji polskiej zostały ujęte przez twórców w sposób wpisujący się w ogólne tendencje struktury poetyki tego okresu. Przeważają pieśni o strofach 4-wersowych oraz 7-, 6- i 2-wersowych. Czynnikiem wiążącym strofy jest rym paroksytoniczny, dokładny, parzysty, a sporadycznie naprzemienny.
Polish singing for the Feast of Corpus Christi contained in the cantional of Jagodyński (edition 1638, 1695) count 13 works, including 7 which are translations of Latin poetry, formed most probably at the end of the sixteenth and early seventeenth centuries; and 6 is the fruit of the work of contemporary poets and composers. The translations were modeled on the poetic structure of Latin texts, although not always fully; while the songs of Polish provenance were included by the authors in a way that fits in the general tendencies of the poetics structure of this period. We notice here mostly the songs with 4-verse stanzas and 7-, 6- and 2-verses. The stanzas binding factor is even rhyme, paroxytonic, perfect rhyme, and occasionally alternating rhyme.

Opis:
A production inventory problem with limited backlogging and with stockouts is described in a discrete time, stochastic optimal control framework with finite horizon. It is proved by dynamic programming methods that an optimal policy is of (s,S)-type. This means that in every period the policy is completely determined by two fixed levels of the stochastic inventory process considered.

Intensyfikacja upraw doprowadziła do zubożenie gleb w mikroelementy oraz substancje odżywcze. Istotnym komponentem w produkcji nawozów płynnych są chelaty. Chelaty to kompleksy kleszczowe, które cechują się dużą trwałością. Substancją chelatującą jest związek mineralno-organiczny zawierający co najmniej dwa miejsca koordynacyjne. Połączenia takie charakteryzują się swoistą inertnością wobec wodorotlenków, fosforanów, węglanów oraz tlenków. Stosowanie mikroelementów w takiej postaci pozwala na ich stopniowe uwalnianie, tym samym zapewniając optymalną przyswajalność. Jako dodatki do nawozów stosuje się chelaty mikroelementów z substancjami syntetycznymi, które w krajach Unii Europejskiej określone są w Rozporządzeniu Parlamentu Europejskiego i Rady WE nr 2003/2003 z dnia 13 października 2003 roku. Wymagania środowiskowe stawiane produkcji i stosowaniu nawozów, związane z ochroną gleby oraz produkcją tzw. zdrowej żywności, określają ocenę biodegradowalności jako jeden z czynników mających znaczenie przy doborze substancji kompleksującej. Stopień skompleksowania mikroelementu (Cu, Fe, Mn, Zn), zgodnie z wymogami formalnymi, powinien wynosić przynajmniej 80% deklarowanej, rozpuszczalnej w wodzie, całkowitej zawartości metalu. Czas pobierania mikroelementu przez roślinę w środowisku glebowym powinien odpowiadać okresowi degradowalności użytego związku, co stanowi istotny problem w przypadku substancji syntetycznych. Rozwiązaniem może być stosowanie, jako czynnika kompleksującego, substancji pochodzenia naturalnego. W Rozporządzeniu Nawozowym znajduje się tylko jedna taka substancja: ligninosulfoniany. Wydaje się, że użycie aminokwasów pochodzących z hydrolizy białek może być alternatywą dla stosowanych syntetycznych pochodnych związków aminopolikarboksylowych ze względu na ich działanie stymulujące i antystresowe. Celem badań było określenie stopnia skompleksowania cynku oraz stosunku metal:ligand dwóch substancji chelatujących: aminokwasu oraz syntetycznej pochodnej aminopolikarboksylowej. Pomiary prowadzono z wykorzystaniem woltamperometrii pulsowo różnicowej w pH obojętnym w środowisku wodnym. Zastosowanym aminokwasem była L-lizynę, natomiast substancją syntetyczną, znajdująca się w Rozporządzeniu Nawozowym, była sól trisodowa kwasu S,S-etylenodiaminodibursztynowego.
Intensification of crop led to the impoverishment of the soil with trace elements and nutrients. Important components in the production of liquid fertilizers are chelates. Chelate complexes forceps, which are characterized by high durability. Chelating substance is a mineral-organic compound containing at least two coordination sites. These connections are characterized by a specific indifferent to hydroxides, phosphates, carbonates and oxides. The use of trace elements in a form allows for a gradual release thereof, thereby ensuring optimal availability. As an additive to fertilizers used chelated micronutrients with synthetic chemicals that in the European Union are set out in the Regulation of the European Parliament and Council Regulation EC No 2003/2003 of 13th October 2003. Environmental requirements placed on the production and use of fertilizers, associated with soil conservation and production of so-called. Healthy food determine the biodegradability assessment as one of the relevant factors in the selection of complexing substances. The degree of complexation trace element (Cu, Fe, Mn, Zn) in accordance with the formal requirements should be at least 80% of the declared, soluble in water, the total metal content. Download time micronutrient in the plant in the soil environment should correspond to what degradable compound used as an important problem in the case of synthetic substances. The solution may be the use of substances of natural origin as a complexing agent. The Regulation of Fertilizers is only one such substance: ligninosulfonates. It appears that the use of amino acids derived from the hydrolysis of proteins, can be an alternative to use, synthetic derivatives of aminopolycarboxylic, due to their stimulating effect and stress. The aim of this study was to determine the degree of complexation of zinc and the ratio of metal: ligand two chelating agents: an amino acid and a synthetic derivative of aminopolycarboxylic. Measurements performed using differential pulse voltammetry at neutral pH in aqueous medium. Used the amino acid L-lysine was but a synthetic substance, which is located in the Regulation of fertilizer was trisodium salt of acid S,S-ethylenodiaminodisuccinic.

The results of laboratory studies into the oxygen biodegradation of chelating substances in aqueous medium under kinetic and static test conditions with added glucose as an additional source of carbon, are presented. It has been found that S,S-ethylenediaminedisuccinic acid (S.S-EDDS) and methylglycinediacetic acid (MGDA) are more readily degradable than ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid (EDTA), most commonly used in the production of microelement fertilizers. It has also been found that the presence of additional carbon sources accelerates biodegradation.

Opis:
The seabed in the ports needs to be regularly cleaned from the marine sediments for safe navigation. Sediments contaminated by tributyltin (TBT) are environmentally harmful and require treatment before recycling. Treatment methods include leaching, stabilisation and solidification to remove toxic chemicals from the sediments and improve their strength for reuse in the construction works. This study evaluated the effects of adding three different binder components (cement, cement kiln dust (CKD) and slag) to treat sediment samples collected in the port of Gothenburg. The goal of this study is to assess the leaching of TBT from the dredged marine sediments contaminated by TBT. The various methods employed for the treatment of sediments include the application of varied ratios of binders. The project has been performed by the Swedish Geotechnical Institute (SGI) on behalf of the Cementa (HeidelbergCement Group) and Cowi Consulting Group, within the framework of the Arendal project. An experiment has been designed to evaluate the effects of adding CKD while reducing cement and slag for sediment treatment. Methods that have been adopted include laboratory processing of samples for leaching using different binder combinations, followed by statistical data processing and graphical plotting. The results of the experiment on leaching of TBT for all samples are tested with a varied ratio of cement, slag, CKD and water. Specimens with added binders 'cement/CKD' have demonstrated higher leaching compared to the ratio 'cement/slag/CKD' and 'cement/slag'. The 'CKD/slag' ratio has presented the best results followed by the ‘cement/slag/CKD’, and can be used as an effective method of s/s treatment of the sediments. The results have shown that the replacement of cement and slag by CKD is effective at TBT leaching for the treatment of toxic marine sediments contaminated by TBT.

Opis:
Jalu Kurek, a prominent member of the Cracow avant-garde, is the author of several novels. This article discusses the undeservedly neglected S.O.S., published in 1927, and suggests that its weird plotting and literary mockery is in fact an apocalyptic narrative. It has a place, it is argued, in the 'catastrophist' trends which were on the rise in the Polish literature of the late 1920s and 1930s. It should be read in the context of a growing sense of decline and crisis of European society, which, on the one hand, drew on the cultural pessimism of the turn of the 19th century, and, on the other hand, was a reaction against the wave of modernization that was sweeping the world. As this analysis shows, Jalu Kurek's S.O.S. is deeply ambivalent about the onslaught of modernity.

The paper deals with monitoring of pollution arising due to dyeing industries located along the Dombivali industrial belt of Mumbai, India. The study was carried for the period of one year from June, 2012 to May, 2013 to study the level of toxic heavy metals and the physico-chemical properties of waste water effluents discharged from the above industries. The concentrations of Cu, Ni, Cr, Pb, Fe and Zn were found to be maximum of 44.78, 2.50, 1.75, 1.45, 64.22 and 13.22 ppm respectively in the industrial waste water effluent.It was observed that the pH value was maximum of 12.30 in the month of June while the conductivity was found to be maximum of 48000 μmhos/cm in the month of February. The majority of physco-chemical parameters like alkalinity, salinity and total solid content (TS) were observed to be maximum in the month of February having values of 3578, 44.08 and 40450 ppm respectively. The high cyanide (0.18 ppm) and phosphate (112.90 ppm) levels were reported in the effluents released during the month of March. The industrial effluent released in the month of June was reported to have high hardness, chloride and COD content having the values of 743, 2381, 8957 ppm respectively; while the DO content was found to be very low of 2.77 ppm. The BOD content in the effluents was found to be maximum of 603 ppm in the month of October. The results of present study indicates that the existing situation if mishandled can cause irreparable ecological harm in the long term well masked by short term economic prosperity due to extensive industrial growth.

This article deals with a Markovian queuing-inventory system (MQIS) under the stochastic modeling technique. The arrival stream of this system is dependent on the present stock level at an instant. Meanwhile, the system focuses on reducing the waiting time of a unit by assuming a queue-dependent service policy (QDSP). The system consists of an infinite waiting hall to receive an arriving unit. The MQIS assumes that no unit of arrival is allowed when the stock level of the system is empty. The discussion of this MQIS runs over the two types of ordering principles named 1) (s, Q) 2) (s, S). According to both ordering principles, the assumed arrival and service patterns have been considered separately and classified as Model-I (M-I) and Model-II (M-II) respectively. The steady state of the system for both M-I and M-II is analysed and resolved under the Neuts matrix-geometric technique. The system performance measures of the system are also computed. The expected cost function of both M-I and M-II are constructed as well. Further, the necessary numerical illustrations are provided and distinguished for M-I and M-II to explore the proposed model. This paper finds the optimum ordering policy to execute the stock-dependent arrival and queue-dependent service strategies.

This article is an attempt of showing the presence of the word – the living word – as a linguistic/speech means in human being’s relation with the Other – with somebody closer than somebody else, who testifies with his/her presence to the presence of the person speaking to him/her. The presence of the word can be perceived as “non-relative” presence – in line with thinking about language/speech through the prism of their conventionally understood functions. Accepting after H.-G. Gadamer that our experience is linguistic in nature, I write about immersion in language in which, by assimilating its meanings, we can think and communicate our thoughts to others and communicate with them – we are able to talk. The presence of words as the foundation, opportunity and quality of relations with the Other is also relative in its nature. I present, following the ideas of E. Lévinas, the pre-linguistic way of being with the Other and I discuss silence as seemingly non-verbal contact with oneself and the Other. Since I focus on the relation with the Other, I also develop the theme of who is talking to whom, pointing out, at the same time, that talking to somebody fits in the “existential project” of the speaker. The considerations concentrated on the above problems became also a pretext to reflect on the selected aspects of verbal and non-verbal relation between an adult and a young child. The reflections undertaken in the article are mostly placed within the phenomenological perspective.
W artykule podejmuję próbę ukazania obecności słowa – żywego słowa – jako środka języka/mowy w relacji jednego człowieka z Drugim – z kimś bliższym niż ktoś inny, kto swoją obecnością poświadcza obecność tego, który do niego mówi. O obecności słowa można mówić jako o obecności bezwzględnej – zgodnie z myśleniem o języku/mowie przez pryzmat ich konwencjonalnie rozumianych funkcji. Przyjmując za H.-G. Gadamerem, że nasze doświadczenie ma postać językową, piszę o zanurzeniu w języku, w którym, poprzez przyswojenie sobie jego znaczeń, możemy myśleć i komunikować swoje myśli innym oraz komunikować się z nimi – rozmawiać. Obecność słów jako podstawy, możliwości i jakości relacji jednego człowieka z Drugim ma także względny charakter. Za E. Lévinasem przedstawiam prelingwistyczny sposób bycia jednego człowieka z Drugim oraz omawiam milczenie jako pozornie nie-słowny kontakt z sobą samym i z Drugim. Ponieważ koncentruję się na relacji z Drugim, rozwijam także wątek tego, kto mówi do kogo, tym samym wskazując, że mówienie do kogoś mieści się w „projekcie egzystencjalnym” mówiącego. Rozważania skoncentrowane wokół powyższej problematyki stały się także pretekstem do podjęcia refleksji nad wybranymi aspektami słownej i niesłownej relacji między dorosłym a małym dzieckiem. Podjęte w artykule rozważania sytuuję przede wszystkim w perspektywie fenomenologicznej.
