The article examines the relationship between the lyrics and prose of Mieczysław Romanowski, the most talented poet of the last generation of the Romantics, and the work of other contributors of the weekly magazine Dziennik Literacki, published in Lwów between 1852 and 1870. Although their concerns and poetics have a lot in common, the high tone of Romanowski’s patriotic art is distinctly his own. In this article the analysis of his poetry is complemented by an examination of his essays and other writings which contain his views on contemporary social issues.

The paper is an analysis of a 1958 memorial essay on Bruno Schulz by Hanna Mortkowicz-Olczakowa, focused on its two aspects. One is Schulz’s relationship with the writer Maria Kuncewiczowa, rarely addressed by scholars but important since her novel Cudzoziemka played a significant role in Schulz’s literary criticism. The other is Mortkowicz-Olczakowa’s memorial narration itself and her role in promoting the Drogobych writer’s myth. The memorial essay shows clear ambivalences as regards the myth of Schulz, most likely representing a mourning bias in the postwar reception of his writing.

The article is a biographical outline of Rear Admiral Gereon Grzenia-Romanowski (1916- -1983), who was born in a Kashubian merchant family in Chojnice. He began his military education at the Cadet Corps in Chełmno, and then continued it in Rawicz. Then he was admitted to the Infantry Officer Cadet School in Komorów near Ostrów Mazowiecka. During the September campaign 1939 he fought in the Warsaw Tank-Motor Brigade. In the years of occupation he joined the Union of Armed Struggle (ZWZ), and from 1943 he was active in the communist People’s Guard (GL). After 1945, he held many responsible positions in the Polish Army. He was, among others Deputy Commander for Political Affairs of the 12th Infantry Division (12th Infantry Division) and the 16th Kashubian Infantry Division (16th KDP). In 1956, he became the deputy commander of the Navy (MW) for political affairs. He remained in this office until 1965. In 1956, he was one of the co-founders of the Kashubian Association (later the Kashubian-Pomeranian Association). After retiring, he worked as a representative of the Polish Ocean Lines (PLO) in China. He died on January 18, 1983.

We investigated ladybirds overwintering in agricultural landscape near Brzozówka in Kampinos Forest (Central Poland). Altogether, 180 samples of litter were collected in six habitats: on psammophilous grassland, under Scots pines Pinus sylvestris on fallow, in patches of mixed pine and alder forests, and under freestanding oaks. In total, we recorded 141 ladybird individuals representing seven species: Anatis ocellata, Coccinella septempunctata, Coccinula quatuordecimpustulata, Exochomus quadripustulatus Hippodamia tredecimpunctata, Propylea quatuordecimpunctata, Psyllobora vigintiduopunctata, and Tytthaspis sedecimpunctata. The dominant species was C. septempunctata (111 individuals), followed by H. tredecimpunctata (15 ind.). The relatively high numbers of H. tredecimpunctata hibernating in the litter under pines is interesting. This species is associated with humid habitats in the growing season and was recorded in very low numbers in previous studies on the hibernation of ladybirds in Kampinoski National Park.
Badano zimowanie biedronek w ściółce różnych zbiorowisk roślinnych w krajobrazie rolniczym w okolicy miejscowości Brzozówka (gmina Czosnów) w Kampinoskim Parku Narodowym. Łącznie zebrano 180 prób ściółki z charakterystycznych dla badanego terenu środowisk: murawy napiaskowej, samosiewu sosny Pinus sylvestris na ugorze, oraz zadrzewień śródpolnych: lasu mieszanego, boru sosnowego i olesu. W próbach tych stwierdzono łącznie 141 osobników biedronek należących do siedmiu gatunków: oczatka Anatis ocellata, siedmiokropka Coccinella septempunctata, biedroneczka łąkowa Coccinula quatuordecimpustulata, gałecznik czteroplamek Exochomus quadripustulatus czerwonka trzynastokropka Hippodamia tredecimpunctata, wrzeciążka Propylea quatuordecimpunctata, biedronka mączniakówka Psyllobora vigintiduopunctata i Tytthaspis sedecimpunctata. Dominującym gatunkiem wśród odłowionych biedronek była siedmiokropka (111 os.), a kolejnym pod względem liczebności była czerwonka trzynastokropka (15 os.). Interesujące jest stwierdzenie relatywnie wysokiej liczby czerwonek trzynastokropek, zimujących w ściółce pod sosnami na odłogowanym polu uprawnym. Gatunek ten w okresie wegetacyjnym związany jest z środowiskami wilgotnymi. W dotychczasowych badaniach nad zimowaniem biedronek w Kampinoskim Parku Narodowym był bardzo nielicznie rejestrowany.

Przedmiotem pracy jest analiza rozwiązań dotyczących kwestii majątkowej w procesie rozliczeń z komunistyczną przeszłością w Polsce na tle zrekonstruowanego teoretycznego modelu rozwiązywania tzw. otwartych kwestii majątkowych w Niemczech. Autorzy zwracają uwagę na fakt, iż skutki wywłaszczeń dokonywanych przez komunistyczne państwo bezprawia trwają nadal, mimo upływu ponad dwudziestu pięciu lat od transformacji ustrojowej. Rozliczenia z przeszłością w sferze majątkowej stanowią jedno z poważniejszych zaniedbań pozytywnego ustawodawcy po 1989 roku. W ocenie autorów konieczna jest kompleksowa regulacja o charakterze reprywatyzacyjnym, wpisująca się dodatkowo w cały zespół rozwiązań z zakresu rozliczeń w sferze majątkowej. Zaniechania legislacyjne w obrębie reprywatyzacji stanowią egzemplifikację ogólniejszego, współczesnego zjawiska, które identyfikuje współczesna filozofia prawa. Polega ono na tym, że podmioty odpowiedzialne za legislację nie nadążają za dynamiką przemian społecznych. Może to prowadzić do sytuacji, w których „skomplikowany charakter stanowionych norm prawnych i ich stosowanie stają się niekiedy «pułapką» dla obywateli, niemogących nie tylko poprawnie zidentyfikować własnej sytuacji prawnej, ale także przewidzieć decyzji organów stosujących prawo”.

The paper presents an analysis of the “Schulzoid” novel by Dominika Słowik, Atlas: Döppelganger, which addressed the topic of passing from adolescence to adulthood during the Polish systemic transformation. The author’s starting point is the famous interpretation of Schulz’s fiction by Artur Sandauer in his essay “The Degraded Reality” [Rzeczywistość zdegradowana], based on a claim that Schulz represented in his own way the experience of the decomposition of the known world as a result of the capitalist expansion in the early 20th century. The analysis focuses on the figure of the grandfather and the transformation itself. The former is the central character in the narrator’s mythology of childhood: he keeps telling fascinating stories about life at sea, on the other hand being a fantasist who tries to alleviate his sense of exclusion from the new reality. The systemic transformation has been represented in Słowik’s novel by a series of antinomies as well. The nostalgic and sublime descriptions of the material conditions at the turning point have been combined with the pictures of degradation and trash. Then the novel is placed against the background of the literature of the 1990s, summed up by Olga Drenda’s essay, Duchologia polska. Słowik remembers the material conditions of the period of the systemic transformation and the trashy, though also sentimental, aesthetics of the historical moment when she and other authors of her generation were children. This makes the author of the paper compare their writing with Schulz’s postulate of the return to childhood. Yet in Schulz’s fiction childhood is the source of a private mythology – the images that constitute the writer’s imagination. The writers of the 1990s make a turn toward the reminiscences of childhood to revise critically the myths of the historical turning moment and to articulate their own and their generation’s experience of the transformation.

Samples of the invasive alien ladybird, Harmonia axyridis, were collected between 27 July and 8 August 2013 at four localities on the Pelješac Peninsula in southern Croatia. Altogether, 209 individuals were collected, of which 114 (54.5%) were males and 95 (45.5%) females. Three colour forms were present in the samples: the non-melanic form succinea and the melanic forms spectabilis and conspicua. The form succinea clearly predominated (90.5% of collected individuals) followed by spectabilis (8.1%) and conspicua (1.4%). The ectoparasitic fungus Hesperomyces virescens, not previously reported from Croatia, was found on the elytron of one H. axyridis individual. The localities in Pelješac Peninsula mentioned in this paper are the southernmost of all Croatian localities so far reported to be colonized by H. axyridis.

The author examines Jerzy Ficowski’s approach to Schulzian masochism. Examining few traces of Schulz’s sexuality in Ficowski’s study Regions of the Great Heresy, he argues that his biographical portrait presents the writer as an eternal child, innocent and unspoiled by the dirty universe of sex. In Ficowski’s later studies dealing with Schulz’s masochism, the key issue is a connection of art and sexuality since the biographer claims that masochism is the deep, dark root of Schulz’s creative power.

Some interest has been directed recently to neodymium doped crystals with strong inhomogeneous broadening of absorption bands which are believed to be better suited for diode pumping than the crystals with ordered lattice. The disordered Nd-doped crystals may be obtained in two ways. The first one is to introduce a structural disorder in ordered lattice by substituting partially one or more cations by cations with different charges. Alternatively, the compounds with inherently disordered structure are synthesized and doped with Nd. We consider two wide families of compounds of general formulae ABC$\text{}_{3}$O$\text{}_{7}$ and ABCO$\text{}_{4}$ where A stands for Ca, Sr, Ba, B is Y or rare earth and C stands for Ga or Al. Both the families form the crystals with inherently disordered structure and can accept an appreciable amount of Nd. Results of structural and spectroscopic investigations are used to determine material's parameters relevant to laser performance. Comparison of several disordered crystals is made and their suitability for diode pumping is discussed.

Alongside the globalisation phenomenon, many European countries have already situated their educational practice in existing multilingual contexts. The multilingualism policies of the European Union provided an ideal backdrop to the development of integrative approaches such as Content and Language Integrated Learning (CLIL) and, as a result, the term CLIL was coined in 1996 through sustained interest and pedagogical activity in the field of bilingual education across Europe. CLIL environments can also facilitate the promotion of intercultural communicative competence as described in the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages. In addition, as culture seems to be one of the five dimensions of CLIL provision, it is essential to discuss and consider the incorporation of an intercultural perspective in CLIL. The integrative nature of CLIL gives an opportunity for a simultaneous combination of foreign language learning, content subject learning and intercultural learning

Opis:
Short overview of optical methods which proved to be useful in the characterization of HTSC thin film substrates is presented. Preliminary tests in polariscopic arrangements, interferometric measurements, optical absorption and emission spectroscopy reveal macroscopic deficiencies of the crystal. Intentionally introduced impurity ions serve as probes of a local strength and symmetry of the crystal field. Results of optical study of SrLaGaO$\text{}_{4}$ and SrLaAlO$\text{}_{4}$ crystals are presented and discussed.

Artykuł przedstawia krytyczną analizę biografii Bolesława Prusa Prus. Śledztwo biograficzne autorstwa Moniki Piątkowskiej. Autor artykułu omawia założenia biograficznej metody Piątkowskiej oparte na uznaniu twórczości prozatorskiej Prusa za niepodważalne źródło wiedzy o jego życiu. Demaskuje również postulaty autorki na temat tego, czym powinna być literatura (ekspresywistyczna teoria dzieła literackiego). Demitologizacyjna biografia Piątkowskiej odsłaniająca codzienność Prusa nie oddaje bohaterowi sprawiedliwości, lecz usiłuje nawiązać więź z czytelnikiem poprzez dostarczenie plotki i ekscesu.
Article presents critical analysis of Bolesław Prus’s biography Prus. Śledztwo biograficzne (biographical investigation) by Monika Piątkowska. Author of the article discuss asumptions of Piątkowska’s biographical method based on arbitrary recognition that fictional works by Prus are undisputable, absolutely reliable source of knowledge about his life as well as disclose biographer’s attitude on what real literature is supposed to be (expressivistic theory of literary work). Demitologising biography by Piątkowska does not do justice to its subject, but attempt to meet readers desire for gossip and excess.

The article presents the review of mostly used methods of graphical analysis of production processes. In the text were briefly characterised all main type of methods of analysis of production processes including: traditional methods (time research and traffic research), comprehensive research, modelling and simulation-based methods and graphical methods. Graphical analysis methods such as: process mapping, value stream mapping, Ishikawa diagrams, schedules, Gantt's charts, Pareto-Lorenz’s diagrams, spaghetti diagrams, production variety funnels, analysis of the decision-making point, and examples of their application were described.

Author of the article explores the phenomenon of reportage biography in context of Pierre Nora's notion of „age of commemoration”. The crucial feature of this new genre of biographical writing is that the biographers focus on testimonies of people who personally knew the biographical subject instead of reading and re-reading documents gathered in the archives. Such an attitude has several consequences for the poetics of the biography. Biography becomes polyphonic as a scene of dialogue or confrontation of many different voices, different approaches on the subject. Biography becomes also ex-centric which means that biographical narrative concerns not on the subject as a central figure of biographical discourse, but delivers space for the witnesses to express their historical experience, to tell their life stories. Author of the article presents these matters by analyzing Bruno Schulz's biography Schulz pod kluczem and showing how this poliphony of accounts typical for reportage biography works in nostalgic frame of Budzyński's approach.

Opis:
A simple and short derivation of von Weizsäcker equation for kinetic energy functional is presented. The derivation is based on the Green-Gauss theorem and is valid for one-electron systems. In the proof the asymptotic behavior of wave function for the finite systems was used. Two results important for kinetic energy functional evaluation are also derived as consequences of the Green-Gauss theorem.

The article explores the complex relations between Mieczysław Romanowski's poetry and Wincenty Pol's most outstanding work. This allows for a new, more favorable look at the author's writings and it shows how diverse the sources of his inspiration could be.Chart watażki was created because the poet was greatly influenced by the reading of Mohort. However, the piece is not a passive imitation. Romanowski drew from Pol’s poem what had already previously stimulated the imagination of national artists: the myth of the Borderlands, which was a reminder of the times when Poland was magnificent and mighty and a return to the idealized noble past, which resulted in the popularity of prose and poetry tale in the nineteenth century. In Chart watażki Romanowski is closer to the established model of the tale than Pol, who – by putting  in his work heroization – created a knight rhapsody. By using the tools of postcolonial methodology we can see that the image of the Borderlands, that we can find in his poems, is not the result of only Mohort's inspiration, but rather a part of the nineteenth century discourse.
Artykuł bada skomplikowane związki między gawędą Mieczysława Romanowskiego a najwybitniejszym dziełem Wincentego Pola. Pozwala to na nowe, bardziej przychylne, spojrzenie na twórczość gawędową autora Łużeckich i zwrócenie uwagi na to, jak różnorodne potrafiły być źródła jego natchnienia.Bezpośrednią inspiracją do napisania Charta watażki z pewnością była dla poety lektura Mohorta. Utwór nie jest jednak biernym naśladownictwem, Romanowski zaczerpnął bowiem z rapsodu rycerskiego Pola to, co już wcześniej pobudzało wyobraźnię twórców krajowych: przypominający o czasach wielkości Rzeczpospolitej mit Kresów oraz zwrot ku wyidealizowanej szlacheckiej przeszłości, który zaowocował w XIX wieku popularnością gatunku gawędy prozatorskiej i wierszowanej. W Charcie watażki Romanowski jest bliższy utrwalonemu modelowi gawędy niż Pol, który z kolei wpisując w swój utwór heroizację, stworzył gawędowy rapsod rycerski. Wykorzystanie narzędzi metodologii postkolonialnej do przyjrzenia się nie tylko temu, ale i innym utworom poety pozwala dostrzec, że obraz Kresów, jaki odnajdziemy w jego dziełach, nie jest wynikiem jedynie inspiracji Mohortem, a raczej częścią XIX-wiecznego dyskursu..

The article offers a critical discussion of Anna Kaszuba-Dębska’s book Bruno. Epoka genialna [Bruno. The Age of Genius]. The reviewer argues that the main feature of Kaszuba-Dębska narrative is its heterogeneity; it manifests itself through the renouncement of the authorial voice, which it replaced by a dense tissue of quotations, as well as through the extensive discussion of cultural contexts and the lack of a consistently outlined dominant theme organizing the course of the protagonist’s life. For this reason, the reviewer regards Kaszuba-Dębska’s publication as a text reminiscent of a silva rerum (cf. commonplace book), whose heterogeneity, however, seems to stem from the author’s lack of control over her material, rather than from an attempt to cross the borders of the biographical genre.
