The article analyses the contemporary image of a Ukrainian in the linguistic picture of the world as perceived by students from Poznan and Lublin. Based on the results of the questionnaire with the geographical factor, the article distinguishes the “naive” cognitive definitions, methods of categorisation, traits of a typical Ukrainian and their aspect, which all differ depending on the geographical location of the two cities. The article analyses which subjects, according to students from different regions of Poland, are characteristic of a Ukrainian and how the geographical factor influences their dominance in the light of different aspects.

In this paper, economic rationality is measured using the tools of behavioral economics, and the extent to which factors such as field of study, place of origin, gender, interest in economics and economic situation affect this rationality is determined. The authors hypothesize that among these factors, place of origin may be of particular importance due to, among other things, differences in the quality of education between urban and rural areas. In order to verify this hypothesis, Poisson regression and data from a survey conducted on a sample of 232 students of universities in Poznań were used. The developed model proved that the influence of both field of study and interest in economics was statistically significant. Moreover, in some cases place of origin and economic situation (if one’s situation is classified as the worst) were also significant factors. The findings from the survey allowed us to identify the profile of the least economically rational student: a person from a town of up to 250,000 inhabitants, in a field of study within the humanities, in the worst financial situation.

Artykuł podejmuje zagadnienie studiów 48 synów mieszczan poznańskich immatrykulowanych na różnych uniwersytetach w latach 1490-1505. Analizowane jest pochodzenie społeczne tej grupy – stratyfikacja przeprowadzona jest podług zawodu i zamożności ojców oraz ich udziału w sprawowaniu władzy w mieście. Potem następuje próba analizy roli wykształcenia uniwersyteckiego w zabiegach o awans do elit rządzących miastem. Załączony katalog zawiera biogramy 48 studentów z dokładnymi informacjami o ich rodzinach i biegu życia.
The paper discusses the studies of 48 sons of burghers from Poznań, matriculated at various universities during the years 1490-1505. The analyses cover their social standing – the stratification is based on the professions and wealth of their fathers and their participation in the municipal governing bodies. Next comes the analysis of the role of university education in advancing to the elites ruling the city. The attached catalogue contains biographic sketches of 48 students with details of their families and further careers.

The aim of the study was to examine the attitudes of students at the Poznań University of Economics and Business towards limiting meat consumption, in the context of global trends related to sustainable development. The two main identified areas of consideration are related to the impact of excessive meat production and consumption on human health and the state of the environment. The survey involved 296 respondents (61.8% women, 37.8% men, 0.4% other). Throughout the study, it was found out that more than half (51.4%) of the respondents limit their meat consumption. The gender of the respondents was important in this regard (63.4% of women and 31.3% of men limit their meat consumption). The most frequently cited reasons for limiting meat consumption include concerns for the environment (42.6% of respondents) and the desire to improve health and well-being (41.9% of respondents). Meat consumption decisions among 30.7% of respondents are not influenced by any arguments.

The political destabilization in the Middle East has caused such a significant wave of migration to European countries, that the situation has evolved into a migration crisis. Research on the awareness and opinions on mass migration conducted among a selected group of Polish youth show how differentiated attitudes are – from moderately positive to extremely negative. At the same time, almost everyone signaled that schools’ engagement in providing students with solid knowledge on migration was insufficient. In this context, this paper discusses the importance of taking account of students’ opinions in the planning of educational processes. If schools are to influence the attitudes of the young, they should create a space for dialogue and for students to express their opinions and values. Such activities, together with solid knowledge, will allow educational and pedagogical objectives to be reached.

The aim of this paper was to present the preferences of apple consumers (students) concerned on the functional and sensory apples’ quality features: the apple cultivar and taste, skin colour, fruit size and fruit firmness. The survey data were collected in the years 2009 and 2011 among 265 and 208 students of the Poznan University of Life Sciences. The respondents completed the survey questionnaires in presence of the researcher. The respondents could choose no more than three of the listed apple cultivars. Further- more the respondents could choose one answer from each list of the preferable apples quality features (taste, skin colour, fruit size and firmness of flesh). The most preferred apple cultivars were: Lobo, Jonagold, Szampion, Golden Delicious and Cortland. The percentage of students whose did not know the name of the apple cultivar they consumed was high and it amounted to 17% in 2009 and 24% in 2011. Students preferred sweet-winy taste of apples, the red colour of fruit skin, with blush, the fruits of medium size and tough. The colour of apple skin was the least important quality feature - it did not matter for more than 1/3 of respondents, mainly males. The differences between males and females students appeared in taste of apple fruits and firmness of flesh. The sour taste of apples was preferred by relatively more males than females and for bigger percentage of males the taste of fruits was not important. More females preferred sweet and very sweet apples and tough.
Celem pracy było przedstawienie preferencji konsumentów jabłek (studentów) w zakresie funkcjonalnych oraz sensorycznych cech jakościowych jabłek, takich jak: odmiana oraz smak, kolor skórki, wielkość owocu i twardość miąższu. Podstawą analizy były wyniki badań ankietowych przeprowadzonych wśród studentów Uniwersytetu Przyrodniczego w Poznaniu w dwóch okresach: w 2009 roku (265 ankiet) oraz w 2011 roku (208 ankiet). Respondenci wypełniali ankietę w obecności osoby przeprowadzającej badanie. Studenci mogli wybrać maksymalnie trzy spośród wymienionych odmian jabłek lub jedną z odpowiedzi: „Nie wiem”, „Nie ma znaczenia”, „Nie jadam jabłek”, „Inne” i wpisać swoją propozycję. Ponadto respondenci mogli wybrać jedną odpowiedź z każdej listy dotyczącej preferencji w zakresie cech jakościowych jabłek (smaku, koloru skórki, wielkości owocu i twardości miąższu). Ulubionymi odmianami jabłek były: Lobo, Jona-gold, Szampion, Golden Delicious i Cortland. Odsetek studentów, którzy nie znali nazwy ulubionych odmian jabłek był wysoki i wynosił 17% w 2009 roku oraz 24% w 2011 roku. Większość studentów preferowała słodko-winny smak jabłek, owoce koloru czerwonego, z rumieńcem, średniej wielkości oraz twarde. Cechą, która nie miała znaczenia dla relatywnie największego odsetka ankietowanych (ponad 1/3 ankietowanych), był kolor skórki. Różnice w preferencjach pomiędzy mężczyznami a kobietami pojawiły się w przypadku smaku jabłek oraz twardości miąższu. Kwaśny smak jabłek preferowało relatywnie więcej badanych mężczyzn, a dla większości z nich smak nie miał znaczenia. Więcej kobiet lubiło jabłka słodkie, bardzo słodkie oraz twarde.

The authors outline the history of state examinations for certification in Polish as a foreign language, focusing on their organization and structure in Poznań. In particular, the results of the Poznań-based examinations are compared with the average results of all exams carried out in Poland and abroad, proving that, basically, they do not differ much from one another. A detailed analysis of the results makes it also possible to formulate certain postulates related to the preparation for the examination with certification for the School of Polish Language and Culture for Foreign Students at Adam Mickiewicz University that may be taken into consideration in the future.

Zaprezentowano wyniki badań nad wpływem wybranych czynników na postrzeganie agrobiznesu jako miejsca pracy i realizacji kariery zawodowej. Przyjęto, że wpływ taki mają wykształcenie (ukończony poziom studiów) oraz płeć. Zgromadzone z użyciem ankiety audytoryjnej dane faktograficzne poddano analizie statystycznej. Na podstawie przeprowadzonych badań stwierdzono, że w opinii studentów idealna praca powinna być zgodna z ich zainteresowaniami, oferować stabilne warunki zatrudnienia, dawać poczucie dumy z jej wykonywania, a także gwarantować wysokie zarobki i jednocześnie odbywać się w przyjaznej atmosferze. Natomiast za niepożądane cechy pracy studenci uznali: nieregularność czasu pracy, wymóg mobilności, tj. cechy związane z dużą liczbą i wysokim tempem wykonywania obowiązków. Na podstawie badań stwierdzono także, że praca na stanowisku przedstawiciela handlowego w agrobiznesie, chociaż daje możliwości rozwoju, nie stanowi atrakcyjnej oferty zatrudnienia dla większości badanych.
This paper includes the results of examination on the impact of selected factors on the perception of agribusiness as a place of work and career achievement of graduates. It was assumed that such influence have: education (level of completed studies) and sex. Collected data were obtained using an audit questionnaire which were analyzed statistically. Based on the research, it has been found that, in the opinion of the students, the ideal work should be in line with their interests, offer stable employment conditions, give pride to its performance, and guarantee high earnings and at the same time be in a friendly atmosphere. For the undesirable features of this work, the students considered: irregularity of working time, mobility requirement, it means features connected with high number and high pace of performance of duties. Based on the research, it was also found that working as a sales representative in agribusiness, while giving development opportunities, is not an attractive job offer for most of the respondents.

Tematem artykułu jest religijność młodzieży z Archidiecezji Poznańskiej. Wykorzystano w nim badania sondażowe, przeprowadzone w ósmych klasach społecznej szkoły podstawowej oraz pośród członków grupy młodzieżowej działającej przy parafii św. Jana XXIII w Komornikach. Młodzież, głównie dziewczęta, została przebadana trzema testami mierzącymi religijność w aspektach: emocji wobec Boga, personalnej relacji do Boga oraz spójności przekonań religijnych adolescentów. W części teoretycznej artykułu omówione zostały zagadnienia specyfiki adolescencji, w tym rozwoju religijności na tym etapie rozwojowym.
The topic of this article is religiousness of adolescents from Poznan (Poznań) archdiocese. It is based on a survey research, carried out in elementary community school and in St. John XXIII parish in Komorniki near Poznan (Poznań). Students of the facility, mainly girls, were examined with three tests measuring religiousness in the following aspects: emotions towards God, personal relationship with God and the consistency of religious beliefs of the adolescents. The theoretical part of the article discusses the issues of the specificity of adolescence, including the development of religiosity at this stage of development.
Dieser Artikel befasst sich mit der Religiosität junger Menschen in der Erzdiözese Poznań. Er stützt sich auf eine Umfrage, die in den achten Klassen einer Gemeinschaftsgrundschule und unter den Mitgliedern einer Jugendgruppe in der Pfarrei St. Johannes XXIII. in Komorniki durchgeführt wurde. Die Jugendlichen, hauptsächlich Mädchen, wurden mit drei Tests befragt, die die Religiosität in folgenden Bereichen messen: Gefühle gegenüber Gott, persönliche Beziehung zu Gott und Konsistenz der religiösen Überzeugungen der Jugendlichen. Im theoretischen Teil des Artikels werden Fragen zur Besonderheit der Adoleszenz erörtert, einschließlich der Entwicklung der Religiosität in diesem Entwicklungsstadium.

W sytuacji wciąż rosnącej konkurencji na rynku bankowym, ważniejsze od pozyskiwania stale nowych klientów jest utrzymanie dobrych relacji z już posiadanymi. Z tego względu, segment produktów i usług skierowanych do studentów daje bankom możliwość nawiązania długoletniej i stałej współpracy z odbiorcami usług bankowych. Praca powstała w wyniku zestawienia wybranych zagadnień z przeprowadzonych badań, związanych z zainteresowaniem produktami bankowymi wśród studentów Uniwersytetu Przyrodniczego w Poznaniu. Zawarto w niej nie tylko oczekiwania w stosunku do potencjalnych usługodawców na rynku finansowych usług detalicznych, lecz także najważniejsze braki i mankamenty ofert z punktu widzenia klienta, a także możliwości lepszego zaspokajania potrzeb i bardziej trafnego konstruowania instrumentów finansowych dla omawianego segmentu w przyszłości. Poza tym praca stanowi raport z kontynuacji badań przeprowadzonych na ten temat w 2007 roku.
There is a huge competition in the banking market. In that situation most important is good relation and satisfaction among possessing clients than still finding new ones. This activity is possible in segment of banking products for students. The paper presents aspects connected with research on the interest in bank products among students of Poznań University of Life Sciences. It describes not only expectations towards potential providers of services on retail financial services market but also main drawbacks and deficiency of offers from the customer’s point of view. Finally, the paper considers possibilities how to satisfy demands in the future and create more appropriate financial measures for the discussed sector. The paper is also a continuation of the research carried out in 2007 and devoted to the same issue.

In the interwar period Kazimiera Iłłakowiczówna had two meetings with her audience at the invitation of the Club of Polish Literature Students and Scholars of the Poznań University - on 25 February 1930 and 9 May 1933. On 23 February 1939 she took part in the 126th Literary Thursday. She read her works, alongside Emil Zegadłowicz, on 11 April 1931 at a special literary-artistic evening organized to mark the 10th anniversary of the Trade Union of Polish Writers in Poznań. In the discussed period Iłłakowiczówna's poems and critical studies pertaining to her artistic output appeared among others in „Dziennik Poznański", „Kurier Poznański" and „Tęcza". In the years 1919-1939 Iłłakowiczówna also paid private visits to Poznań and places in its vicinity, e.g. to Wierzenica, Kwilicz, Jurkowo.

This article concerns distinct contexts of schooling for migrant children who are enrolled in private and public educational institutions in Poznań, Poland. In my study, I recognized that although the schools have different methodologies and languages of instruction, teachers expect the same obvious and predictable patterns of migration – either the children will stay in a country permanently or the children will immigrate somewhere else. This factor – educator expectations – can have more consequences on migrant children’s experiences than the differences between type of school – public or private. The exploratory fieldwork was conducted twice, once in 2010 and once 2013, in the same schools with the same group of students and teachers. In the article, I tried to address some obvious and unobvious practices of schools concerning migrant children, such as the myth of the language barrier as a main obstacle to learning, the lack of basic knowledge about countries of origin, the ignorance of multiculturalism as well as the phenomenon of individual treatment in both types of schools. In the recommendations, I give suggestions on how to perceive a migrant child as a strong and influential personality and how schools could conform to liquid migrations.

Poznań lat dwudziestych i trzydziestych XX wieku jako przestrzeń działania członk.w Koła Polonist.w  [The City. The University. The Literary Studies. Poznań in 20. and 30. of XX Century as a Space for Activities of Polish Language and Literature Student’s Associaition]. Questions asked for the author and polemics against some thesis of her discourse are centered around both historical and methodological problems (the last one may be named geopoetics of intelectual movements). The article is also an attempt to confront the inside and outside view of Polish Studies at Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań.

Przedstawiono preferencje w konsumpcji owoców i warzyw, określając ulubione warzywa, owoce całoroczne i sezonowe, a także wskazując ważność określonych cech przy wyborze owoców i warzyw do spożycia. Do analizy wykorzystano 265 ankiet, spośród których 139 ankietowanych studiowało na kierunku Ekonomia, a 126. Ogrodnictwo.
The aim of this paper was to present and analyze the preferences in the fruits and vegetables consumption by indicating at maximum 5 the most favorable fruits (available all year round and seasonal) and vegetables. Furthermore there were pointed out the importance of the specified factors for selection the fruits and vegetables. The data come from 256 questionnaires collected among Life Science University.s students of two departments: Economics (139 persons) and Horticultural (126). The most preferred fruits available all year round were: bananas (83% indications), apples (80%), grapes (63%), oranges (60%) and mandarins (53%). The most favorable seasonal fruits were: strawberries (90%), sweet cherries (77%), raspberries (70%), pears (55%) and plums (49%). The most preferred vegetables were: tomatoes (82%), potatoes (54%), carrots (49%) and cucumbers (47%). The most important factors for fruits were taste and then the freshness and health value, but for vegetables the most important were freshness and then taste and health value. Unimportant factor for selection both the fruits and vegetables was fashion.

W artykule przedstawione są wybrane wyniki badania dotyczącego planów edukacyjno-zawodowych uczniów z ostatnich klas liceów ogólnokształcących, techników oraz branżowych szkół I stopnia, zrealizowanego w 2022 r. przez zespół analityków i doradców zawodowych z Centrum Doradztwa Zawodowego dla Młodzieży w Poznaniu. W badaniu wzięło udział 17% uczniów (1342 osoby) szkół ponadpodstawowych z obszaru miasta Poznania i 17 gmin powiatu poznańskiego. Zastosowano technikę ankiety audytoryjnej, a dane były zbierane za pomocą papierowych kwestionariuszy ankiet oraz arkuszy obserwacji. Celem artykułu jest udzielenie odpowiedzi na pytania o to, co młodzież zamierzała robić po ukończeniu szkoły oraz jak pandemia COVID-19 i wojna w Ukrainie oddziaływały na jej plany w momencie realizacji badania. Z przeprowadzonych analiz wynika przede wszystkim to, że większość badanych uczniów planowała kontynuowanie edukacji po ukończeniu szkoły ponadpodstawowej. Za przeszkody zagrażające realizacji swoich planów badane osoby uznały, czynniki osobiste, takie jak obawa o własne powodzenie w zdawaniu egzaminów czy w odnalezieniu się na rynku pracy, rzadziej wskazując kryzysy o zasięgu światowym.
The article presents selected results of research into educational and career plans of last-grade students of general high schools, technical high schools and Level 1 vocational schools. Carried out by a team of analysts and vocational counsellors from the Career Counselling Centre for the Youth in Poznań in 2022, the survey included 17% of high-school students (1,342 people) from the city of Poznań and seventeen municipalities of the Poznań powiat. An auditorium survey technique was used, and data were collected using paper survey questionnaires and observation sheets. The article aims to establish what the young people intended to do after finishing school and how the COVID-19 pandemic and the war in Ukraine affected their plans at the time of the research. The main finding of the study is that most of the respondents planned to continue their education after completing high school. Significantly, it was not the two global crises. but personal factors, such as the fear of not doing well enough at examinations or failing to find one’s way on the labour market, that the respondents regarded as obstacles that threatened the realisation of their plans.

This text is a report on a survey conducted on a group of students of the Faculty of Law and Administration of Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznan in December 2022. The authors wanted to obtain answers to questions concerning attitudes towards the law and political views of students of the Faculty of Law and Administration of Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań. The research used an anonymous, single-choice, audiotaped, supervised survey questionnaire with closed questions.

Opis:
Several experiments combining analog design with digital parametric design have been presented, where the relationship between material properties and the designed shape of an architectural element play an important role. This approach allows to create digital material formations or to structure freeform surfaces, control their tectonics, through parametric modulation. Similar research tasks were initiated in the years 2003-2004 during the classes conducted at the Architectural Associations School of Architecture in London. In Poland, for the first time, making use of that experience, a number of similar teaching experiments were carried out in 2013 under the academic supervision of Krystyna Januszkiewicz and Mateusz Zwierzycki, at the newly established Research Laboratory of the students of the Faculty of Architecture of Poznan University of Technology.

Prezentowany artykuł jest raportem z empirycznych studiów dotyczących religijności słuchaczy studiów podyplomowych teologii, którzy przygotowują się do nauczania religii w szkołach i przedszkolach. Sformułowano następujący problem badawczy: czy słuchacze studiów podyplomowych teologii są osobami posiadającym kompetencje duchowe w aspekcie ich rozwoju religijnego i rozwoju wiary, tak aby mogli w przyszłości umiejętnie wspierać duchowo swoich uczniów? Czy są religijni i czy ich religijność posiada cechy dojrzałości? W celu weryfi kacji hipotezy badawczej wykorzystano następujące narzędzia diagnostyczne: ankietę do badania wymiarów religijności, Skalę Praktyk Religijnych (Chaim 1991), Skalę Tożsamości Religijnej A. Wieradzkiej-Pilarczyk (2015), Skalę Religijności Personalnej R. Jaworskiego (1989). Badania przeprowadzono w latach 2017-2019 wśród słuchaczy (N=62) Studiów Podyplomowych Teologiczno-Katechetycznych oraz Studiów Podyplomowych Katechezy Przedszkolnej na WT UAM w Poznaniu. Grupę porównawczą stanowili posiadający wyższe wykształcenie rodzice dzieci pierwszokomunijnych (N=145). Wszyscy badani byli wyznania rzymskokatolickiego. Uzyskane wyniki potwierdzają zasadność oczekiwania, że słuchaczy studiów podyplomowych teologii powinien charakteryzować wyższy poziom religijności. Zmienna niezależna, jaką jest podjęcie studiów podyplomowych teologii, łączy się w sposób istotny z wyższym niż u innych dorosłych katolików poziomem intensywności wyróżnionych zmiennych psychologicznych,takich jak: autodeklaracja wiary, obraz Boga, praktyki sakramentalne i religijne, zaangażowanie w życie wspólnoty kościelnej, tożsamość religijna oraz religijność personalna.

The study described in the present paper aimed to account for all the three dimensions of learners’ strategic self-regulation, i.e. cognitive, affective, and sociocultural-interactive language learning strategies (LLS) (Oxford 2011), and attempted to explore their relationships with learners’ personality and other individual variables, such as gender, type of university and area of studies, or the level of proficiency in English. The participants of the study, who formed a representative sample of BA/BS students of AMU and WSB University (722 students in total), completed two questionnaires, a Polish adaptation of SILL ver. 7.0 (Oxford 1990), and the adaptation of NEO-FFI recommended by the Polish Association of Psychology (Zawadzki et al. 2010) for research. The goodness criteria for psychometric research tools (Hornowska 2007) were analysed for both questionnaires. The obtained results confirm the role of most of the above-mentioned individual characteristics in strategy choice, validate the importance of learners’ personality in language learning, and provide evidence of the significance of openness to experience in learning a foreign language.

Physical activity should be a priority for students with disabilities and health problems because it is an important part of healthy living, disease prevention and coping with stress. The awareness of the needs of movement as a therapeutic agent, affects the motivation of students participating in classes tailored to their capabilities, in activities of rehabilitation, physiotherapy and yoga. An analysis of research shows that students taking part in medical physical activities are mainly focused on health and disease prevention; another important motive is course completion.
