Na przykładzie norm w zakresie ochrony macierzyństwa wskazano rozwój standardów Międzynarodowej Organizacji Pracy w tym obszarze. Informacje te uzupełniono również o przepisy zawarte w tych dokumentach MOP, które jedynie pośrednio dotyczą kwestii ochrony macierzyństwa.
The article is related to the centenary of International Labour Organization (ILO). Author presents legal standards of maternity protection stipulated in conventions and recommendations which were adopted during the past 100 years. Though ILO has a separate catalogue of documents directly related to maternity protection, some other legal acts can be viewed as extending the protection. The article analyses the evolution of the maternity protection regulations through all the most important conventions and recommendations.

Persons who provide care for women during labour and immediately after should, apart from clearly medical care, provide comfort and satisfaction to future mothers. In response to the expectations of the medical environment, non-governmental organisations and patients, the Minister of Health has issued a regulation on maternity care standards which determines individual elements of medical care aimed at welfare of the mothers and newborns. NIK’s audit reveals how the standards are complied with in hospitals during labour, and whether the conditions required by the regulations are ensured.

This essay analyzes the argumentative basis of the maternity debate on the main social network sites, in relation to the debate on the draft of Cirinnà bill on gay and lesbian civil partnerships in the Italian Parliament, to evaluate its congruence. The study of suasion (Eco, 1986), defi ned as a technique of covert persuasion, i.e., concealed and hidden (Mortara Garavelli, 2001), in relation to new media, represents “a new area of rhetoric, which deals almost exclusively with words and the act of writing in largely predetermined contexts” (Marazzini, 2001).

Aim. This article’s goal is to present the discourse concerning paid maternity leaves in the USA in major American media outlets between the years 2014 and 2018. It is an attempt to answer the question whether maternity, caregiving work or family values are contradictory to American work ethic and regulations of the labour market. Methodology. The work is devoted to content analysis of the four most popular American online media, both liberal and conservative. Their content search engines are used to find information and articles on paid maternity leaves and to group them into different categories. Results. Three main categories are distinguished in terms of the content of 302 articles, namely articles with a positive attitude towards paid maternity leaves (248 articles – 82.10%), articles with a negative attitude (20 articles – 6.60%), and neutral articles (34 – 11.30%). In general, Americans see the long-term benefits of paid maternity leaves, but they differ when it comes to the methods of their introduction. Conclusions. There is a conflict between maternity, family values, American work culture, and regulations of the labour market. In American society, individualism, competition, and masculinity of the business culture do not support the values of nurturing and caregiving. Originality. Except for the USA, there is no other country among OECD states which does not provide paid parental leaves for working mothers. Because of the fact that the United States is known to be one of the most developed countries in the world, this information may be considered worth-studying.

The aim of the study is to present the subjective and objective aspects of sickness, accident, and maternity insurance for farmers. The study deals with the income and expenses of the Contribution Fund and their correlation with the amount of benefits paid. The study uses financial analysis methods, descriptive analysis methods, and logical inference. Results are presented in tabular form. Between 2009 and 2019, there was a decrease in the number of insured persons. The Contribution Fund has been increasingly financing tasks indirectly related to sickness, accident, and maternity insurance. The conducted assessment shows that the currently existing legal regulations concerning the first pillar of insurance risks by the Agricultural Social Insurance Fund (KRUS), i.e., sickness, accident, and maternity risks, specified in the Farmers’ Social Insurance Act, have become obsolete and require changes. The definition of an accident at work in agriculture requires a new regulation. It is about extending the scope of agricultural activity to include activities related to the processing of agricultural raw materials, provision of services, supervision and protection of property, and conducting non-agricultural business activities.
Celem opracowania jest przedstawienie zakresu podmiotowego i przedmiotowego ubezpieczenia chorobowego, wypadkowego i macierzyńskiego rolników. Opracowanie odnosi się do dochodów i wydatków Funduszu Składkowego i ich korelacji z wysokością wypłacanych świadczeń. W opracowaniu wykorzystano metody analizy finansowej, metody analizy opisowej i logicznego wnioskowania. Wyniki badań przedstawiono w formie tabelarycznej. Na przestrzeni lat 2009-2019 nastąpił spadek liczby osób ubezpieczonych. Fundusz Składkowy, w miarę upływu lat, w coraz większym stopniu finansuje zadania pośrednio związane z ubezpieczeniem chorobowym, wypadkowym i macierzyńskim. Z przeprowadzonej oceny wynika, że aktualnie istniejące regulacje prawne dotyczące I filara ryzyk ubezpieczeniowych KRUS, tj. chorobowych, wypadkowych i macierzyńskich, zawarte w ustawie o ubezpieczeniu społecznym rolników uległy dezaktualizacji i wymagają zmian. Nowego regulowania wymaga definicja wypadku przy pracy rolniczej. Chodzi tu o rozszerzenie zakresu działalności rolniczej o czynności związane z przetwórstwem surowców rolniczych, świadczeniem usług, dozorem i ochroną mienia oraz z prowadzeniem pozarolniczej działalności gospodarczej.

Niniejszy artykuł mieści się na granicy pedagogiki rodziny i medioznawstwa. Pedagogice dostarcza wiedzy z obszaru historii mediów, w tym treści interesujących dla badaczy rodziny czasów powojennych. Celem przedstawionych wywodów jest ukazanie powojennego kontekstu funkcjonowania rodziny oraz obrazu kobiety i modelu macierzyństwa. Źródłem wiedzy dla autorki jest czasopismo dla kobiet Moda i Życie z lat 1946-1950 (z którego wyłoniła się późniejsza popularna Kobieta i Życie).

Research background: Social security systems combine several subsystems aimed at addressing the risks of temporary or permanent loss of an individual's income. The subject of the research are parametric changes of alternative public policy aimed at addressing the temporary loss of income caused by the dropout from the labour market due to childcare. The effects of public policies may be fiscally neutral from the entire system, but not from the point of view of the individual. Purpose of the article: The purpose of this study is to examine the fiscal and redistributive effects of parametric changes in social insurance subsystem with an accent on maternity benefits in the conditions of the Slovak Republic by using a modified microsimulation model. Methods: Using a microsimulation model, we investigate the impacts of the alternative policy setting. Microsimulation model contains four basic modules (i) macroeconomic module, (ii) demographic module simulating future population structure from 2017 to 2080 (iii) status module modelling particular attributes (characteristics), (iv) social policy module. The model is applied to maternity benefits in two scenarios in the Slovak Republic: scenario 1 ? the current legislative setting of maternity benefit policy parameters and scenario 2 ? dynamic maternity benefit. Findings & value added: Results in the area of redistributive impacts in social insurance focused on maternity benefits show that dynamic policy parameters can positively affect work-life balance, especially for individuals with higher education. The results in the area of fiscal impacts show that the dynamic model of maternity benefits increases the efficiency of public spending and stimulates the faster return on the labour market. The results indicate the direction of possible government interventions and provide valuable information for policy makers in areas public policies that are associated with temporary labour market dropouts in the case of maternity.

The attitude of responsible parenthood requires to take appriopriate preparations not only before a child is born, but also before its conception. The research findings concerning Fiancees and Pregnant Fiancees (F, PF) who prepare themselves for marriage in the Catholic Counselling on Family Life, and particularly lack of any talks with the would-be husbands about the number of children (23%), admitting permissibility of abortion (40% − F, 30% − PF) as well as less possitive significance of the concepts connected with motherhood in PF in relation with F are an indication to take up new encouragement which makes it possible for young people to assume parental roles.

The issue of the presence of women on the labor market is becoming increasingly important. The most interesting problem for the authors of the article and at the same time the main aim of it, was to analyze how the annual period of the maternity leave influenced the situation of women in their workplaces and their career model. To answer the mentioned above question a pilot study has been done. A lot of valuable conclusions are presented in this article. One of the most important is that changes in the labor law did not influence significantly the situation of women on the labor market in Poland.
