W artykule opisano pokazy lotnicze, które odbyły się w dniach 18-19 czerwca 2021 roku na lotnisku w Lesznie, pod nazwą Antidotum Airshow. Impreza ta została zapoczątkowana rok wcześniej, najbardziej atrakcyjne są wieczorno-nocne pokazy z elementami pirtechnicznymi. Pojawiły się także wojskowe śmigłowce Mi-2 oraz Mi-17. W wydarzeniu brali udział polscy i zagraniczni piloci, m.in. z Wielkiej Brytanii czy Słowacji, autor przedstawił także poszczególne grupy akrobatyczne (np. Zespół Akrobacyjny Orlik i Grupa Akrobacyjna Żelazny) i użyte w pokazach maszyny, a także program imprezy.

Apart from the Czech Brethren, the Lutherans were another large religious group in the Uxth-century Leszno. They came to Leszno in 1628 from nearby Silesia, mainly from Góra. They formed an organized community using the German language, with a strong identity. From the beginning of their stay in Leszno, they applied for their own school. Initially, they sent their children to the school of the Czech Brethren. In 1638 they were granted the privilege to found elementary school and school for girls. There were also small private schools. In 1659 a Latin school was established, which was to be an alternative – for religious reasons – to the gymnasium of the Brethren. Lutherans were interested in practical education: theology, law and medicine. The level of education in Lutheran schools in Leszno is confirmed by the number of students studying at German universities, including in Frankfurt (Oder), Leipzig, Jena.
Obok braci czeskich drugą wielką grupą wyznaniową w XVII-wiecznym Lesznie byli luteranie. Przybyli oni do Leszna w 1628 roku z pobliskiego Śląska, głównie z miasta Góra. Tworzyli zorganizowaną wspólnotę posługującą się językiem niemieckim, o silnie ukształtowanej tożsamości. Od początku pobytu w Lesznie starali się o własną szkołę. Początkowo posyłali swoje dzieci do szkoły braci czeskich. W 1638 roku otrzymali przywilej na założenie szkoły elementarnej oraz szkoły dla dziewczynek. Istniały też małe placówki prywatne. W 1659 roku powstała szkoła łacińska, która – z powodów wyznaniowych – miała być alternatywą dla gimnazjum braci czeskich. Luteranie zainteresowani byli wykształceniem praktycznym: teologicznym, prawniczym i medycznym. O poziomie nauczania w szkole luterańskiej świadczy liczba młodzieży studiującej na uniwersytetach niemieckich, m.in. we Frankfurcie nad Odrą, w Lipsku, Jenie.

In the mid-19th century archaeology on the teritory of the Prussian partition had more convenient development conditions than on the territories of other partitions. The past, which was often referred to, was to compensate for military failures. It seems that archaeology of those days became one of the instruments of the fight for independence. In a process of antiquity interest development a weekly magazine „Przyjaciel Ludu” („The Friend of the People”) played a significant role. It was issued in 1834-1849 in Leszno. The periodical, displayed close connections with a postulate of organic work, presented its readers a wide thematic extent. Most of the articles published in the paper were devoted to history; articles within the scope of ethnography and literature constituted next considerable part. „Przyjaciel Ludu” also contained quite a lot of pieces of information on archaeological excavations and numerous notes or articles were sent to the editor by members of Towarzystwo Zbieraczów Starożytności Krajowych (the National Antiquities Collectors Society). „Przyjaciel Ludu" as one of the first Polish papers raised archaeological problems to a large extent and, at the same time, it played a considerable role in the development of Polish modern archaeology.

After Poland regained independence, only a small part of the then Wschowa Poviat (currently the Commune of Wijewo and Włoszakowice) was incorporated into Poland, to the Leszno Poviat, which was then within the borders of Poland. The remaining part of the Wschowa Poviat was left in Germany. In this way Wschowa (then Fraustadt) and Leszno became the towns of the Polish and German borderlands. In the direction to Leszno the last village on German’s side was Dębowa Łęka (Geyersdorf) and the first one on Poland’s side Długie Nowe. The Germans felt aggrieved by the resolution of the Versailles Treaty of June 1919. They could not accept, among other things, the fact that some of their territories were incorporated into reborn Poland. In January 1933, Adolf Hitler took the office of the German Chancellor. In subsequent years the Germans systematically violated the provisions of the Versailles Treaty and prepared for war. However, Polish-German relations were correct during the first few years of Hitler’s rule in Germany. On 26 January 1934, both countries signed the German-Polish Non-Aggression Pact. The situation changed drastically in autumn of 1938. The Germans proposed a new agreement to Poland. Gdańsk was to be annexed to the Reich, and an exterritorial motorway and railway connecting the Reich with East Prussia was to run through Polish Pomerania. In return, the Germans offered to prolong the validity of the pact of January 1934 up to 25 years. Poland rejected the German proposal. Polish-German relations quickly became increasingly tense and the outbreak of armed conflict was more probable. In March 1939 the Abwehr (German intelligence and counterintelligence services) began establishing battle and sabotage groups in Poland. They recruited the local Germans who were familiar with life in Poland. The Wrocław Abwehr also created such groups in the Province of Poznań. In July 1939 these groups consisted of 2324 people in Poznań. The same was in the borderland Poviat of Leszno. In summer of 1939, a spying group led by Arthur Krämer (40 people) operated in Leszno and Kurt Schlecht’s group (10 people) in the nearby Gronówek. In 1939 German youth more often escaped to the Reich. According to the Provincial Office in Poznań, from January to June 1939, 2 628 people escaped from the Province of Poznań, including 189 from the Poviat of Leszno. In July and August 1939, the number of escapes from the Province of Poznań to Germany increased even more. The reports of the Leszno starost of June and July 1939 mention German fortification works near Wschowa. On 1 September 1939 Germany attacked Poland. The Second World War broke out; it lasted a few years and claimed many millions of lives. On the night of 31 August and 1 September 1939, a few hours before the attack on Poland, the Germans committed acts of sabotage near the boundary between Leszno and Wschowa Poviats. Walther Starke (an officer of the Wrocław Abwehr), who resided in Wschowa, was responsible, among other things, for supervising sabotage groups in the Leszno Poviat. Arthur Krämer mentioned above escaped to Wschowa on 20 August 1939 and then prepared, under Starke’s supervision, a sabotage act whose aim was to support German riots against Poland in Święciechów and Leszno. The operation began on the night of 31 August and 1 September 1939 around 1.00, so a few hours before the war broke out. The group of 25 people under the command of Arthur Krämer and Wilhelm Hirte set off from Wschowa. They attacked the Border Guards post in Długie Nowe but Polish soldiers repelled them. 1 September 1939 was marked by skirmishes with the Grenzschutz units and saboteurs who particularly made themselves felt in Leszno and Święciechów. The Poles, however, managed to repel Germans. Leszno was also shelled by German artillery. One of the best-known events of the second day of the war (Saturday, 2 September 1939) on the Polish-German border in Major Poland (Wielkopolska) was a sortie made by Polish army from Leszno to Wschowa. The sortie was made primarily by the 55th Poznań Infantry Regiment under the command (from November 1935) of Col. Władysław Wiecierzyński. The first sortie unit included the 2nd company of the 1st battalion of the 55th Poznań Infantry Regiment under the command of Captain Edmund Lesisz, a tank platoon, a platoon of heavy machine guns and a platoon of artillery under the command of Captain Ludwik Snitko. The second sortie group included a squadron of TKS light reconnaissance tanks (11 units) under the command of Lieutenant Wacław Chłopik and a squadron of cyclists commanded by Lieutenant Zbigniew Barański. At the same time, a platoon of uhlans commanded by Second Lieutenant Tadeusz Stryja from the 17th King Bolesław Chrobry Uhlan Regiment was in the forest near Wschowa, observing the area and transmitting information via radio. The sortie towards the border with Germany began around 4 p.m. on 2 September 1939. The infantry was transported to the village of Stare Długie. There they prepared to attack and cross the Polish-German border. The attack itself was carried out around 5.30 p.m. The 1st platoon of the 2nd company under the command of Second Lieutenant Stanisław Rybczyński attacked the border crossing; and the 2nd platoon, commanded by Second Lieutenant Władysław Konwiński, captured the German customs office, seizing weapons and ammunition. The 3rd platoon, commanded by Second Lieutenant Stefan Perkiewicz, led an attack in the area between Stare Długie and Geyersdorf. Around 6 p.m. the Polish army captured Dębowa Łęka, which was left in a hurry by its inhabitants. Captain Ludwik Snitko shelled Wschowa with cannons on the orders of General Roman Abraham. A total of thirty-six shells were launched towards the town. It is probable that several German soldiers were killed and a dozen or so wounded. This action caused a lot of commotion. The authority of Wschowa even thought of evacuating civilians to Głogów. The leading unit of this sortie, namely the 3rd platoon commanded by Second Lieutenant Stefan Perkiewicz reached as far as town’s outskirts. The sortie of the Polish army to Wschowa on 2 September 1939 did not have any strategic significance, but it was not its purpose. Thanks to this attack, the morale of the soldiers who crossed the border of the enemy was raised since they captured one of the German villages and shelled the town of Wschowa. In September 1961 the monument commemorating this event was unveiled at the entrance to Wschowa. It is a boulder with a plaque informing about the events of 2 September 1939.

Praca przedstawia bilans fosforu i potasu w 91 wybranych gospodarstwach rolnych trzech gmin regionu leszczyńskiego. W przeprowadzonych badaniach stwierdzono dodatni bilans fosforu w 65gospodarstwach, co stanowiło 71,4% ogółu gospodarstw. W 20 gospodarstwach (22,2% ogółu) dodatnie saldo bilansowe składnika przekraczało 50 kg P2O5/ha UR. W przypadku potasu dodatnia różnica bilansowa miała miejsce w 48 badanych gospodarstwach (52,7% ogółu gospodarstw). W 12 gospodarstwach (13,2%) była ona większa niż 50 kg K20 /ha UR. Spośród uprawianych roślin największą dodatnią różnicę bilansową fosforu stwierdzono w uprawie buraków pastewnych i cukrowych, ziemniaków oraz rzepaku ozimego. W uprawie większości gatunków roślin wykazano ujemny bilans potasu.
In this paper the balance of phosphorus and potassium in 91 selected farms of three communities of Leszno Region is presented. It was stated in carried out research the surplus balance of phosphorus in 65 farms (71.4% of the total number of farms). In 20 farms (22.2% of the total number) the surplus value of balance of this component was larger than 50 kg P2O5 per 1 ha of agriculturally utilized area. In case of potassium, the surplus balance occurred in 48 examined farms (52,7% of total number). In 12 farms (13,2%) it was larger than 50 kg K20/ha of AUA. Among cultivated plants the highest surplus balance value of phosphorus was stated in fodder as well as sugar beet, potato and winter rape cultivation. In cultivation of the most plants it was showed the negative balance of potassium.

W trakcie pokazów można było obejrzeć prawie wszystkie rodzaje statków powietrznych. W pokazach wziął udział m.in. Zespół Akrobacyjny Orlik i Grupa Akrobacyjna Żelazny. Licznie reprezentowana była grupa Red Bull ze swoimi historycznymi samolotami. W niektórych pokazach wykorzystano efektowne pokazy pirotechniczne.

W artykule poruszono problem udostępniania zbiorów archiwum i biblioteki kościoła św. Jana w Lesznie. Zbiory te – o historycznym znaczeniu dla dziejów Leszna, Jednoty Braci Czeskich i historii protestantyzmu w Polsce i Europie – od XVIII wieku budziły zainteresowanie badaczy. W XIX wieku, na fali rozwoju badań nad życiem i dorobkiem Jana Amosa Komeńskiego oraz braćmi czeskimi, wzrosła potrzeba dostępu do tych materiałów. Na podstawie dostępnych źródeł archiwalnych z XIX–XX wieku przedstawiono, kto i w jakim celu korzystał z archiwum i biblioteki ulokowanych na terenie dawnego kościoła braci czeskich w Lesznie.
The article discusses problems surrounding access to the collections of the library and the archives of St. John Church in Leszno. These resources, historically important for the history of the town, the Unity of the Bohemian Brethren as well as the history of the protestant movement in Poland and Europe, have been a significant source on the relevant topics for researchers since the eighteenth century. In the nineteenth century, following the development of the research into the life and the output of Jan Amos Komensky and the Bohemian Brethren, the need for better access to these materials became more apparent. On the basis of available archival sources from the 19th–20th centuries, the author shows who and for what purpose used the archives and the library collections from the former church of the Bohemian Brethren  church in Leszno.

Artykuł przedstawia postać diakona parafii luterańskiej w Lesznie Jeremiasa Hentschela (1662–1709), jego piśmienniczą aktywność oraz zbiór książek, które przekazał ufundowanej przez siebie bibliotece parafialnej. Przedmiotem daru była kwota 940 guldenów na budowę pomieszczenia biblioteki oraz 144 dzieła w 25 tomach, które nabył w latach 1682–1687. Woluminy te mają charakterystyczną proweniencję: wytłoczony na pergaminowych okładkach akronim JHLP – Jeremias Hentschel Lesna Polonus. Omawiany zbiór obejmuje liczne dysertacje akademickie wydane w czołowych ośrodkach ortodoksji luterańskiej, głównie w Jenie i Wittenberdze, teksty z zakresu filozofii, historii Kościoła, polemiki z innymi wyznaniami chrześcijańskimi. Teksty niereligijne stanowią margines.
The article presents Jeremias Hentschel (1662–1709), the deacon of the Lutheran parish in Leszno, his own writings and the collection of books that he handed over to the parish library, also endowed by him. The deacon endowed the sum of 940 guilders for the construction of the building of the library as well as 144 works in 25 volumes that had been purchased by him between 1682–1687. The volumes have distinctive provenance marks: the acronym JHLP, standing for Jeremias Hentschel Lesna Polonus, embossed on parchment bindings of the books. The collection includes numerous academic treatises and dissertations published in Orthodox Lutheran centers, notably in Jena and Wittenberg, as well as philosophical texts, materials on the history of the Church and polemics with other Christian denominations. Non-religious texts are scarce.

Contemporary demographic changes in the labour market pose many challenges. One of them is the need to reconcile the needs of employees from different generations. The youngest generation on the labour market – Generation Z – has very specific expectations, which are discussed in the paper. At the same time, the article describes the labour market in a poviat town on the example of Leszno. As it turned out, contrary to popular opinion, despite the low level of unemployment and the difficulty in finding employees in many industries, there is no employee market in Leszno. Employers do not respond to the expectations of job candidates, especially the youngest ones, which in turn leads to their travelling to other, larger cities. In this way Leszno is depopulating. A similar situation occurs in other small poviat towns. The article proposes one solution to this problem, which is one of the research purposes. The second purpose is recognision of Generation Z’s expectations towards their future employers. The outcomes are described in the article.

The aim of this study is to determine the current role of trade as a town developing factor. The analysis was made on the example of a middle-size town - Leszno. During only the last few years a lot of have taken place in Leszno concerning the quality and quantity of trade as well as location of it in the town space. This study contains the analysis and assessment of changes in Leszno retail trade in the years 2010-2012. The survey was the basis for the assessment of the town prestige as a subregional trade centre, appraisal of the trade system, the arrangement of trade points in the town, the appeal of the town and its centre as a result of building new shopping malls.

Trzebiny, a village of mediaeval origin (mentioned in 1360) and Polish-German lineage, is located in south-western Greater Poland, in the commune of Święciechowa, 9 kilometres to the west of Leszno. From the 1920s to 1945 Trzebiny lay in the western borderlands of the Republic, and during the inter-war period it adjoined the German state frontier. The owners of the landed estates, the von Lessen family, left Trzebiny for the Reich, fearing the approaching front. The post-1945 influx of a new population became one the reasons for the rapid devastation of the abandoned palace and park. The reconstruction of the historical complex, initiated in 1982, was completed in 1987 – a period which we describe as stage I. It also encompasses the garden premises featured in the regular part of the park and the park sculptures, damaged during the post-war period and reconstructed in 1993. Stage II, which took place in 1996-1999 and 2001-2003, supplemented the plants and formed and enlarged the rows of trees. A reconstructed fountain, a copy of Bernini’s Triton Drinking from a Corncupia, was placed in the southern part of the regular section of the park. In the landscape part of the park the tree crowns were pruned, dry branches and boughs were removed, and the tension lines were repaired. At the same time, an archeological reconnaissance of the terrain discovered relics of prehistorical settlements (the Lusatian culture) as well as settlements from the Late Middle Ages and the modern era. A mediaeval tower-manor house was found on the spot of the present-day “Four seasons” bower. Relics of a seventeenth - eighteenth-century residential development were registered to the south of the palace, near the historical complex of ponds. Flagstones, visible in the Duncker lithograph, were disclosed during plantings carried out in the 1990s in the south-western part of the park. The palace-park complex is located in the valley of the Krzycki Rift. One of the fragments of the old river-valley was transformed into a pond. Melchior Gurowski, who commissioned the construction of the “old manor” completed in 1680-1690, is considered to have been the builder of the object (mentioned in 1709), while the project is ascribed to an architect from the circle of Jan Catenazzi. The park surrounding the manor house was described as an Italian garden. The successive owners, members of the Nieżychowski family, rebuilt the park in about the middle of the eighteenth century. This is the period of the origin of the stone sculptures whose fragments were discovered in the park. After 1860, axial elements of the classical Italian garden became obliterated in the course of work conducted by the Von Leesens. As a result, the garden assumed the shape of a landscape park embellished with sculptures and flower beds. The park, whose area totals 6,1 hectars, contains trees of assorted ages, the most ancient being about 200 years-old. The varied species in the ground cover include lilies of the valley, goldilock and periwinkle. Squirrels are among the permanent residents of the park, and tree crowns offer nesting to black woodpeckers, nightingales, wood pigeons and the tawny owl. The regular layout of the park was recreated in the area of the presumed Italian garden, and nineteenth- century stone statues were situated in place of the Baroque originals, with an obelisk featuring the von Leesen coat of arms in the centre. The borderlines of the regular part of the park were enclosed by a row of hornbeam and stone pedestals scattered symmetrically on both sides. The reconstruction of the park is being continued up to this day. At present, chief tasks include cleaning the pond, rendering the culverts patent, and the construction of a river bar in the Krzycki Rift. The park in Trzebiany attracts numerous visitors and is a special favourite of young couples who take souvenir photographs against its background. Once a year, at the beginning of December, a cross country race is arranged for children under the motto: “running amidst historical monuments”.

25 września 2020 roku został odsłonięty w Lesznie pomnik Armii Krajowej. Uroczystości rozpoczęła msza święta w Bazylice pod wezwaniem Świętego Mikołaja, którą odprawił biskup poznański Zdzisław Fortuniak. Pomnik powstał z inicjatywy Oddziału Leszczyńskiego Światowego Związku Żołnierzy Armii Krajowej. Data odsłonięcia pomnika upamiętnia rocznicę powstania Polskiego Państwa Podziemnego. Autor artykułu szczegółowo opisał przebieg uroczystości.

Na přelomu 19. a 20. století stoupal zájem o odkaz Jana Amose Komenského. Byly publikovány základní monografie a studie, ale v jeho biografii zůstávalo mnohé neobjasněno, ani soupis jeho děl nebyl úplný. Hledáním nových faktů, které by přispěly k rozřešení některých sporných otázek, se zabývali kromě historiků také někteří učitelé, pro které byl Komenský vel-kým vzorem. K nim patřil i František Slaměník, zakladatel nejstaršího Muzea Komenského. Tento příspěvek podrobně pojednává o jeho zprávách ze soukromých zahraničních cest do míst spojených se životem Komenského. Slaměníkovy texty jsou zajímavým dokladem dobového komeniologického diskurzu poslední čtvrtiny 19. století s přesahem do počátku 20. století.

The school theatre in a Protestant gymnasium in Leszno bloomed between 1639 and 1656 thanks to, amongst others, Jan Amos Komenski. One of the plays staged there was a drama Susanna, ex Danielis 13, tragoedia (1646) probably written by Jan Jerzy Szlichtyng who used the virtuous Susanna’s theme from the Bible in an original and yet utilitarian way. The author reduced theological and moral content, present in other adaptations of this theme, in order to focus on showing the stages of court proceedings in Poland, so the young actors – Lesnaeum students – had a chance of gaining some valuable knowledge about the law and practice useful in the court rhetoric in Latin. The first act of the play, being an introduction to the main theme of the play (law and rhetoric in court) was taken by Szlichtyng (?) from a neolatin drama of Nikodem Frischlin, namely Susanna comoedia nova (1577). The comparative analysis of the original and the 17th century’s adaptation leads to a conclusion about the decorum of manners in the Protestant gymnasium. The Polish author removed not only the sexual abuse thread – Susanna strongly molested by the elders and forced to prostitution – but also passages from Frischlin regarding the use of rhetoric in ars amandi, as well as the heroine’s tirades proving her intelligence and scriptural erudition. As a result, the elders’ image has been a little whitewashed and Susanna appears solely as a chaste and noble wife. Such a representation of the heroine – honest but not too sophisticated – and elders – cunning but not too lecherous – was in a harmony with the 17th century’s cultural conventionalities unfamiliar with mulier docta and demanding that youth respects the elderly.
Teatr szkolny w protestanckim gimnazjum w Lesznie przeżywał, m. in. za sprawą Jana Amosa Komeńskiego, okres rozkwitu w latach 1639-1656. Jedną ze sztuk wystawianych na tej scenie był dramat Susanna, ex Danielis 13, tragoedia (1646), autorstwa prawdopodobnie Jana Jerzego Szlichtynga, który biblijny motyw cnotliwej Zuzanny opracował w sposób oryginalny a zarazem utylitarny. Autor zredukował treści teologiczne i moralne obecne w innych adaptacjach tego motywu, by odwzorować na scenie etapy rozprawy sądowej w dawnej Polsce, młodzi aktorzy – studenci Lesnaeum – mieli dzięki temu uzyskać wiedzę prawniczą i wyćwiczyć się w wymowie sądowej po łacinie. Pierwszy akt sztuki, będący przedakcją właściwego tematu sztuki (prawo i retoryka w sądzie) przejął Szlichtyng (?) z nowołacińskiego dramatu Nikodema Frischlina Susanna, comoedia nova (1577). Analiza porównawcza oryginału z XVII-wieczną adaptacją prowadzi do wniosków na temat obyczajowego decorum w protestanckim gimnazjum. Polski autor usunął ze swego dramatu nie tylko drastyczne sceny molestowania Zuzanny przez starców i ich propozycje płatnej miłości, lecz także passusy z Frischlina dotyczące zastosowania retoryki w ars amandi oraz tyrady bohaterki, w których wykazuje się ona inteligencją i erudycją biblijną. W efekcie wizerunek starców został nieco „wybielony”, zaś Zuzanna jawi się tylko jako cnotliwa i uczciwa małżonka. Taki obraz bohaterki – prawej, ale nie zanadto uczonej – i starców – podstępnych, lecz nie wyrafinowanych lubieżników – był zgodny z XVII-wiecznymi konwencjami kulturowymi nie respektującymi mulier docta i nakazującymi młodzieży szacunek dla starości.

Due to the growing importance of local pro-development attitudes and non-governmental organizations for development, it is important to look at their activities in different subregions. In this work the author presents the results of research carried out in the Leszno subregion on the presence of elements of social capital, the organizational and financial sustainability of NGOs, and their cooperation with public administration in the context of their impact on local development. In addition, through a comparative analysis of selected issues, it recalls the good practices of NGOs in Switzerland which, because of the long tradition of their operation and the experience gained, can also be used in Polish settings.

The author concentrates on the research performed by A. KaweckaGryczowa on the life and activities of Daniel Vetter (1592 – c. 1669), who earned fame by travelling to Iceland (1613) and publishing a report from the journey (first published in Polish in Leszno in 1638). Professor Kawecka-Gryczowa’s findings were published in her article ‘Leszno – ośrodek wydawniczy Jednoty’ (Leszno: A Printing Centre of the Jednota), which appeared in the periodical „Odrodzenie i Reformacja” in 1964; the same article was reprinted in her collected papers: Z dziejów polskiej książki w okresie Renesansu. Studia i materiały (Studies and Materials on the History of the Polish Book during the Renaissance). This article was the first attempt at a monographic approach towards the activities of the Leszno printing shop by a Polish scholar, moreover it encompassed a list of the printed materialsstemming from Leszno. Kawecka-Gryczowa devoted a lot of attention to the person of Daniel Vetter, who directed the aforementioned printing house during the years 1632–1656, basing on his biography and typographical achievements. At the turn of the 20th century, the interest in John Amos Comenius’ legacy was on the rise. While various basic monographs and studies were published at the time, his biography still contained a lot of uncertainties and the list of his works was incomplete. In addition to historians, some teachers who admired Comenius engaged in searching for new facts that would con-tribute to answering some issuable questions. One of them was František Slaměník, the founder of the oldest Comenius Museum. This paper focuses in detail on Slaměník’s reports from his private travels abroad to places linked to Comenius’ life. Slaměník’s texts are interesting evi-dence of comeniological discourse in the Czech lands at the last quater of 19th century with overlap to the beginning of 20th century.

Invasions of alien species are a serious problem worldwide. In Poland, among of 30 alien species recorded in aquatic environment Prussian carp (Carassius gibelio) draw increasing attention due to its exceptionally successful colonization. Therefore the aim of the work was to perform study on Prussian carp populations, including genetic testing, which may answer questions regarding the degree of variation and the reasons for success in new locations. The material for the study consisted of fin clips from 120 specimens of the species Prussian carp collected from five lakes in the Leszno Lakeland. Genetic variation within and between groups was analysed based on sequence analysis of control region (D-loop, mtDNA). Genetic analyses revealed variability in sequence length (Indel 353A), where in the group of sequences from Lakes Wonieść and Łoniewskie there was one sequence variant, with 555 base pairs, but from Lakes Osłonińsko-Górskie, Dominickie and Wielkie, consisted of variants of 554 (30%)and 555 (70%) base pairs. Presented work indicate that presence and spread of alien species may be used as an indicator of worsening environmental conditions, therefore analysed areas should be given special attention in the process of restoration to their original state.
Inwazje gatunków obcych są ważnym problemem globalnym. Przykładowo oprócz 30 obcych gatunków ryb odnotowanych w polskich wodach, szczególną uwagę przyciąga karaś srebrzysty (Carassius gibelio) w związku z jego wyjątkowo ekspansywną strategią rozprzestrzeniania. Z tego też powodu celem niniejszego artykułu jest analiza populacji karasia srebrzystego, w tym testów genetycznych, które mogą udzielić odpowiedzi na pytanie o stopniu zróżnicowania i przyczynach sukcesu obserwowanych w kolejnych lokalizacjach. Materiał do badań stanowiły skrawki płetw 120 osobników karasia srebrzystego, które odłowiono w latach 2009i 2010 z pięciu jezior należących do obszaru Pojezierza Leszczyńskiego. Analizy genetyczne w obrębie jak i pomiędzy grupami przeprowadzono na podstawie amplifikacji oraz analizy odczytanej sekwencji regionu kontrolnego (D-loop, mtDNA). Analiza uzyskanych sekwencji ujawniła, że różnią się one długością (Indel 353A). W grupie sekwencji z jezior Wonieść oraz Łoniewskie występował jedynie jeden wariant sekwencji, 555 par zasad. Pozostałe sekwencje uzyskane na bazie prób pozyskanych z jezior Osłonińsko-Górskie, Dominickie oraz Wielkie składały się z wariantów o długości 554 (30%) i 555 (70%) par zasad. Wyniki badań dowodzą, że obecność oraz rozprzestrzenianie się obcych gatunków może wskazywać na pogarszający się stan środowiska wodnego, dlatego rozpatrywane akweny należy traktować indywidualnie podczas prób przywracania ich do stanu pierwotnego.

The analysis of the content of Wielkopolska periodicals in the period from 1989 to 2011 indicates that female issues comprised two currents. One presented the historical and modern image of women, while the other discussed female issues in the context of political, economic and social events. In the first decade following the transformation the regional and local press confirmed the presence of the stereotype of female roles, but studies carried out in 2011 indicated that male and female roles were unified in numerous aspects of everyday life. This paper aims to deepen the issue previously discussed by the author, but only in the context of the qualitative changes that have occurred in the presentation of sports releases, focusing on sports events involving women in particular. To this end Wielkopolska local and regional newspapers, and local newspapers from the Leszno region (south-western part of Wielkopolska, the northern part of Lower Silesia and the south-eastern part of Lubuskie) in 1989–2012 were analyzed.

Formułowanie strategii rozwoju gminy stanowi wieloetapowy proces, w który zaangażowane są różne podmioty i jednostki, w większości zlokalizowane na terenie danej gminy. Jeszcze większym wyzwaniem w zakresie organizacji i zarządzania jest formułowanie strategii rozwoju dla obszaru obejmującego gminy, które charakteryzują się wspólnymi uwarunkowaniami geograficznymi, społeczno-gospodarczymi, systemem powiązań funkcjonalnych. Wówczas następuje konieczność podjęcia dialogu między interesariuszami tych gmin. Głównym celem artykułu była identyfikacja interesariuszy zaangażowanych w proces wyboru celów strategicznych zawartych w Strategii Rozwoju Społeczno- Gospodarczego Obszaru Funkcjonalnego Aglomeracji Leszczyńskiej do 2030 roku. Wskazane zostały mechanizmy współdziałania oraz stosowane narzędzia mające na celu rozpoznanie potrzeb i oczekiwań interesariuszy gmin. W artykule wykorzystano informacje pozyskane w trakcie wywiadu pogłębionego oraz dokonano analizy literatury i materiałów źródłowych.
The commune’s strategy formulation process is a multi-stage process in which various entities and individuals are involved. An even greater challenge in terms of organization and management is the formulation of development strategies for the area including communes that are characterized by common geographical and socio-economic determinants as well as a system of functional links. Then, there is a need for a dialogue between the municipalities’ stakeholders of these communes. The main aim of the article was to identify stakeholders involved in the process of setting strategic goals included in the Strategy for Socio-Economic Development of the Functional Area of Leszno Agglomeration until 2030. Co-operation mechanisms and tools used to identify the needs and expectations of local stakeholders were indicated. An in-depth interview was conducted as well as the literature and source materials were analyzed.

Artykuł przedstawia analizę stosowanych w  latach 2000–2009 regulacji planistycznych odnoszących sie do użytków rolnych i  leśnych na przykładzie Leszna – byłego ośrodka wojewódzkiego położonego w południowo-zachodniej części Wielkopolski. Wybór tej jednostki badawczej uzasadnia nie tylko wysoka wydajność produkcji roślinnej i zwierzęcej w regionie, ale również konieczność utrzymania we właściwym stanie cennych walorów krajobrazowo-przyrodniczych miasta, w tym znacznej powierzchni lasów ochronnych. Oceny wdrożonych rozwiązań urbanistycznych dokonano dwutorowo, opierając się na ogólnych wartościach biotycznych gleb i drzewostanu oraz posługując się w stosunku do nowo projektowanej zabudowy pojęciem ładu przestrzennego.
The article presents an analysis of the planning regulations applied between the years of 2000–2009 for agriculture and forestry purposes on the example of Leszno – the former provincial centre located in the south-western part of the Wielkopolska Province. The selection of this particular research unit is justified by the high capacity of plant and animal production within the region as well as the necessity of maintaining the precious land and natural values of the town in good condition including the large area of protected forests. The evaluation of the implemented urban solutions was completed in two phases basing on the general biotic values of soil and trees as well as by using the term of spatial order with regards to the newly-designed buildings.

Zabytkowe młyny wietrzne są zabytkami zarówno architektury, jak i techniki. Pełnią funkcję „znaków” w krajobrazie, ich konstrukcja stanowi świadectwo kunsztu rodzimej ciesiołki, a w swoim wnętrzu kryją skomplikowane wyposażenie techniczne będące świadectwem inwencji dawnych młynarzy. Ochrona konserwatorska zabytkowych wiatraków powinna zatem obejmować wszystkie wymienione aspekty. Artykuł w syntetyczny sposób przedstawia przykład translokacji oraz remontu młyna wietrznego z ul. Strumykowej w Lesznie, który w 2018 r. został przeniesiony na teren gospodarstwa pomocniczego Zespołu Szkół Rolniczo-Budowlanych w Lesznie. Obiekt jest interesującym przykładem transformacji wiatraka na młyn elektryczny, ale z poszanowaniem i zachowaniem wszystkich atrybutów charakterystycznych dla młyna wietrznego. Artykuł wskazuje, że pełna restauracja oraz przywrócenie sprawności technicznej zabytku były możliwe dzięki współpracy architekta wykonującego dokumentację, wykonawcy prac budowlanych, w tym ciesielskich, i technologa specjalizującego się w młynarstwie tradycyjnym.
The historic windmills are monuments of both architecture and technology. They play the role of „signs” in the landscape, their construction is a heritage of native carpentry, and inside they hide complicated technical equipment that is a testimony to the inventiveness of old millers. Protection of historic windmills should therefore cover all of the above aspects. The article presents in a synthetic way an example of translocation and renovation of the windmill previously located on Strumykowa street in Leszno, in 2018 moved to the farm of the Agricultural and Construction School Complex in Leszno. The mill is an interesting example of transforming a windmill into an electric mill, but respecting and maintaining all the attributes that are characteristic for windmills. The article indicates that full restoration and restoration of technical efficiency were possible thanks to the cooperation of the architect who prepared the documentation, the contractor of construction works, including carpentry, and a technologist specializing in traditional milling.
