The appearance of insensitive main charges has created new requirements in the booster pellets of the detonation train, specifically, the output of the booster pellet must be strong enough to initiate the insensitive main charge. Traditional cylindrical booster pellets have great difficulty in meeting the demands of the insensitive main charge for reliable detonation. A four-point-synchronous explosive circuit and an eight-point-synchronous explosive circuit were designed to initiate two booster pellets, designed on the basis of shock initiation theory and effective charge theory, as well as the shaped charge effect theory. The results show that booster pellet 1 and booster pellet 2, under multi-point-synchronous explosive circuits, can initiate standard main charge pellets with less explosive mass than an ordinary cylindrical booster pellet. The initiation capacity of booster pellet 2 is better than that of booster pellet 1.

Opis:
The complexity of modern system structures and failure mechanisms makes it very difficult to locate the system fault. It has characteristics of dynamics of failure, diversity of distribution and epistemic uncertainties, which increase the challenges in the fault diagnosis significantly. This paper presents a fault diagnosis framework for complex systems within which the failure rates of components are expressed in interval numbers. Specifically, it uses a dynamic fault tree (DFT) to model the dynamic fault behaviors and deals with the epistemic uncertainties using Dempster-Shafer (D-S) theory and interval numbers. Furthermore, a solution is proposed to map a DFT into a dynamic evidential network (DEN) to calculate the reliability parameters. Additionally, diagnostic importance factor (DIF), Birnbaum importance measure (BIM) and heuristic information values (HIV) are taken into account comprehensively in order to obtain the best fault search scheme using an improved VIKOR algorithm. Finally, an illustrative example is given to demonstrate the efficiency of this method.
Złożoność nowoczesnych struktur systemowych oraz mechanizmów uszkodzeń powoduje trudności w lokalizacji uszkodzeń systemu. Systemy złożone charakteryzują się cechami, takimi jak dynamika uszkodzeń, różnorodność rozkładów oraz niepewność epistemiczna, które czynią wyzwania dotyczące diagnostyki uszkodzeń znacznie trudniejszymi. W niniejszym artykule przedstawiono metodę diagnozowania uszkodzeń systemów złożonych, w której intensywność uszkodzeń poszczególnych składników wyraża się za pomocą liczb przedziałowych. W szczególności, podejście to wykorzystuje dynamiczne drzewo błędów (DFT) do modelowania dynamicznych zachowań związanych z uszkodzeniami oraz rozwiązuje problem niepewności epistemicznej przy użyciu teorii Dempstera-Shafera (DS) oraz liczb przedziałowych. W celu obliczenia parametrów niezawodności, zaproponowano rozwiązanie polegające na odwzorowaniu DFT w dynamiczną sieć dowodową (DEN). Dodatkowo, w sposób kompleksowy wykorzystano czynnik ważności diagnostycznej (DIF), miarę ważności Birnbauma (BIM) oraz wartości informacji heurystycznej (HIV), aby przy użyciu udoskonalonego algorytmu VIKOR uzyskać najlepszy system wyszukiwania błędów. Skuteczność omawianej metody zilustrowano na podstawie przykładu.

The insensitive main charge explosive is becoming an important part of modern weapon development. Insensitive main charge explosives generally have a high critical initiation pressure. The detonation pressure of a traditional cylindrical booster pellet is constant at a specific density and consequently has insufficient energy output to reliably initiate an insensitive main charge explosive. To ensure that this requirement could be achieved, the conical ring booster pellet was designed and optimized. Eight-point-synchronous explosive circuits were designed as appropriate to the sizes of the four booster pellets. The initiation processes of the four conical booster pellets equipped with the eight-point circuit were simulated using ANSYS/LY-DYNA software. The experimental measurements were performed in order to test the initiation capacities of these conical booster pellets. The results demonstrated that their initiation capacities are much better than the initiation capacity of a cylindrical booster pellet. The optimum size of the conical ring booster pellet is when the ratio of the inner to the upper diameter is 0.52, the ratio of the inner to the lower diameter is 0.44, and the ratio of the height to the lower diameter is 0.50.

In this study, palm oil was the first time to convert into a novel polyester plasticizer for polyvinyl chloride (PVC). In the first stage, palm oil was converted into palm oil monoglyceride (POM) by alcoholysis with glycerol. Next, a novel palm oil monoglycerides based polyester plasticizer (POMP) was synthesized from POM and maleic anhydride through esterification and condensation reaction. The structure of POMP was characterized with FTIR, 1H NMR and GPC. Then PVC blends were prepared using POMP as a plasticizer, melting behavior, thermal property, compatibility, mechanical properties and mechanism of plasticization of PVC blends were systematically studied. Melting behavior indicated that POMP could decrease the torque and the melt viscosity of PVC blends that was conducive to process. With the content of POMP increasing from 5 g to 15 g in PVC blends, the plasticized PVC blends demonstrated better compatibility, the degradation temperature (Td) increased from 252.6°C to 257.0°C, the glass transition temperature (Tg) decreased from 55°C to 49.5°C. Plasticization was put into effect by interaction of the electron cloud between the PVC chain and POMP molecule. This study may lead to the development of new type of PVC plasticizer based on vegetable oil.

W niniejszej pracy badano metodę oceny dynamicznej, rozmytej gotowości eksploatacyjnej (dostępności) dyskretnego w czasie systemu wielostanowego pracującego w trybie drobnych uszkodzeń i napraw. Tradycyjnie zwykło się zakładać, że analiza niezawodności dostarcza dokładnych danych niezawodnościowych na temat danego dyskretnego w czasie komponentu/systemu. W praktyce inżynieryjnej jednak trudno jest uzyskać dokładne dane do oceny właściwości komponentu/systemu. W niniejszej pracy zaproponowano jak problem ten można rozwiązać wykorzystując do oceny dynamicznej gotowości dyskretnego w czasie systemu wielostanowego, teorię zbiorów rozmytych. Rozmyty model Markowa z dyskretnym czasem i rozmytą macierzą prawdopodobieństw przejść zastosowano do analizy rozmytego prawdopodobieństwa stanu każdego elementu w dowolnym czasie dyskretnym. Opracowano rozmytą transformatę Lz rozmytego, dyskretnego w stanach i czasie łańcucha Markowa, która pozwala poszerzyć transformatę Lz modelu Markowa dyskretnego w stanach i ciągłego w czasie o zbiory ostre. W oparciu o metodę alfa przekrojów oraz rozmytą transformatę Lz, obliczono dynamiczną rozmytą gotowość eksploatacyjną systemu, wykorzystując do tego celu technikę programowania parametrycznego. Zastosowanie proponowanej metody zilustrowano na przykładzie liczbowym analizując układ przesyłu.
This paper studies assessment approach of dynamic fuzzy availability for a discrete time multi-state system under minor failures and repairs. Traditionally, it was assumed that the exact reliability data of a component/system with discrete time are given in reliability analysis. In practical engineering, it is difficult to obtain precise data to evaluate the characteristics of a component/system. To overcome the problem, fuzzy set theory is employed to deal with dynamic availability assessment for a discrete time multi-state system in this paper. A fuzzy discrete time Markov model with fuzzy transition probability matrix is proposed to analyze the fuzzy state probability of each component at any discrete time. The fuzzy Lz-transform of the discrete-state discrete-time fuzzy Markov chain is developed to extend the Lz-transform of the discrete-state continuous-time Markov model with crisp sets. Based on the α-cut approach and the fuzzy Lz-transform, the dynamic fuzzy availability of the system is computed by using parametric programming technique. To illustrate the proposed method, a flow transmission system is analyzed as a numerical example.

Opis:
Width design of the urban rail transit stations circulation facilities is a vital issue. The existing width design approach failed in fully considering the essential factors such as fluctuation in passengers’ arrival process, fluctuation and state-dependence in passengers walking speed and the blocking when passengers’ demand exceeds the capacity of facilities. For this purpose, a PH-based simulation-optimization approach is proposed that fully considers the fluctuation, the state-dependence, Level of Service (LOS) and blocking effect. This novel approach provides automatic reconfiguration of the widths of circulation facilities by a concurrent implementation of a PH-based Discrete-Event Simulation (DES) model and the Genetic Algorithm (GA). The proposed PH-based simulation-optimization approach and the existing design approaches based on the exponential and deterministic models are applied to design the widths of circulation facilities. The results reveal that the circulation facilities designed by the proposed approach have larger widths. Similarly, increase in the SCV of arrival interval results in increasing the widths designed by the proposed approach increase while the widths of the other two approaches stay the same. The width designed of the proposed approach increase at faster rate than that of the other two approach when the passengers’ arrival rate increases.

Modified PVC (M-PVC) material with suppressed migration and low glass transition temperature was prepared via click reaction of a monooctyl phthalate derivative. Chemical structure and composition of M-PVC were characterized by FT-IR, 1H NMR and element analysis. Thermal stability, glass transition temperature and migration stability of M-PVC were studied with TGA, DSC and migration tests, respectively. The study showed that M-PVC exhibited poor thermal stability, and low glass transition temperature of 66.0°C. No migration was found in distilled water, 10% (v/v) ethanol, 30% (w/v)acetic acid and petroleum ether. The PVC material is expected to preparing PVC products in the areas with high migration resistance requirement.

Poly(vinyl alcohol) films were prepared with manganous chloride (MnCl2 · 4H2O) and glycerin as complex plasticizer. The micro morphology of pure PVA film and complex plasticizer plasticized PVA films was observed by scanning electron microscope (SEM). The interaction between complex plasticizer and PVA molecules was investigated by Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR). The influence of complex plasticizer on crystalline, thermal and mechanical properties of PVA films was studied by X-ray diffraction (XRD), differential scanning calorimetry (DSC), thermogravimetric analysis (TG), and tensile testing, respectively. The results showed that the complex plasticizer of MnCl2 · 4H2O/glycerin could interacted with PVA molecular and then effectively destroy the crystals of PVA. PVA films plasticized with complex plasticizer of MnCl2 · 4H2O/glycerin became soft and ductile, with lower tensile strength and higher elongation at break compared with PVA films. This is an important cause of plasticization of the complex plasticizer of MnCl2 · 4H2O/glycerin on PVA films.

An experimental apparatus is devised to measure the interaction between two spheres separated by a small gap in a uniform electric field. The results show that the interaction between two conducting spheres is near that between two dielectric spheres with high permittivity. Accordingly, the calculation can be simplified by mirror image method, for it is only available for conducting system. A method using multiple mirror images of point charges is put forward to analyze the induction of two identical conducting spheres in a uniform electric field. The key operation on how to add compensative charges is emphasized and given out in detail. The results from experiment and calculation are compared, and they agree with each other very well.

Assessing the risks of steering system faults in underwater vehicles is a human-machine-environment (HME) systematic safety field that studies faults in the steering system itself, the driver’s human reliability (HR) and various environmental conditions. This paper proposed a fault risk assessment method for an underwater vehicle steering system based on virtual prototyping and Monte Carlo simulation. A virtual steering system prototype was established and validated to rectify a lack of historic fault data. Fault injection and simulation were conducted to acquire fault simulation data. A Monte Carlo simulation was adopted that integrated randomness due to the human operator and environment. Randomness and uncertainty of the human, machine and environment were integrated in the method to obtain a probabilistic risk indicator. To verify the proposed method, a case of stuck rudder fault (SRF) risk assessment was studied. This method may provide a novel solution for fault risk assessment of a vehicle or other general HME system.

In this work, an environmentally friendly type plasticizer was introduced. The synthesis consisted of two steps. In the first step, castor oil (CO) was acrylated and then the acrylated castor oil (ACO) was epoxidized with the presence of formic acid and hydrogen peroxide in the second step. The epoxidized acrylated castor oil (EACO) was characterized by FTIR and  1H-NMR techniques. The EACO was used as a main plasticizer to obtain plasticized PVC materials and compared with DOP. The results showed that EACO improved polyvinyl-chloride (PVC) plasticization performance and reduced Tg from 81.06°C to 1.40°C. Plasticized PVC materials with EACO showed similar mechanical properties and better thermal stability than DOP. EACO had better volatility stabilities, migration and solvent extraction in PVC than DOP. EACO can be used to replace DOP to prepare soft films.

African swine fever is an acute, febrile and highly virulent porcine disease causing serious economic losses worldwide. The pK205R protein of the African swine fever virus (ASFV) is largely expressed in the early stages of infection, which has given the K205R gene extensive attention. In this study, the ASFV K205R was cloned and expressed in Escherichia coli BL21 (DE3). Expression of histidine-tagged pK205R with a molecular mass of 44 kDa was determined by 12% sodium dodecyl sulfate-polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis (SDS-PAGE) and Western blot analysis. Optimisation of culture conditions allowed induction of the recombinant protein with 0.4 mM Isopropyl β-D-thiogalactoside (IPTG) at 37oC for 2 h. The protein existed in cellular supernatant and was purified using a Ni-NTA resin column. The purified protein was used to immunize rabbits four times to enable the production of polyclonal antibodies, and the antiserum titre was detected by ELISA. The results showed that the purified pK205R can react with ASFV positive serum specifically by Western blotting. The pK205R had high antigenicity, which indicated that pK205R could be used as an antigen for detection of ASFV-specific antibodies in ELISA testing, and the recombinant protein could contribute to further research of the action and structure of pK205R.

In this assay, we developed and evaluated a multiplex PCR (mPCR) for its ability in detecting multiple infections of swine simultaneously. Four pairs of primers were used to detect five viruses. Specific primers were designed for classical swine fever virus (CSFV), African swine fever virus (ASFV) and pseudorabies (PRV). A pair of primers was designed prudently for two different types of porcine reproductive and respiratory syndrome virus that respectively were porcine reproductive and respiratory syndrome virus (PRRSV), highly pathogenic porcine reproductive and respiratory syndrome virus (HP-PRRSV). The detection limits of the mPCR were 1.09×10⁴, 1.50×10³, 2.10×10³, 1.30×10³ and 8.97×10² copies/reaction for CSFV, ASFV, HP-PRRSV, PRRSV and PRV, respectively. A total of 49 clinical specimens were tested by the mPCR, and the result showed that co-infection by two or three viruses was 51%. In conclusion, the PCR is a useful tool for clinical diagnosis of not only single infections but also mixed infections in swines.

The objective of this study was to investigate the effect of exogenous selenium (Se) supply (0, 2, 4, 8, 16 μM) on the growth, lipid peroxidation and antioxidative enzyme activity of 100 mM NaCl-stressed melon (Cucumis melo L.) seedlings. Salt stress significantly reduced the growth attributes including stem length, stem diameter, dry weight and increased antioxidative enzyme activity [superoxide dismutase (SOD), peroxidase (POD), catalase (CAT)]. Moreover, the plant exhibited a significant increase in electrolyte leakage and malondialdehyde (MDA) content under NaCl stress. Se supplementation not only improved the growth parameters but also successfully ameliorated the adverse effect caused by salt stress in melon seedlings. However, the mitigation of NaCl-stressed seedlings was different depending on the Se concentration. At lower concentrations (2–8 μM), Se improved growth and acted as antioxidant by inhibiting lipid peroxidation and increasing in SOD and POD enzymes activity under salt stress. At higher concentrations (16 μM), Se exerted diminished beneficial effects on growth. Whereas CAT activity was enhanced. The result indicated that Se supplementation had a positive physiological effect on the growth and development of salt-stressed melon seedlings.

The aim of this study was to analyze the influence of various luting materials and surface treatments on adhesive strength for zirconia ceramics and luting cements. The zirconia framework specimens were made into cylinders. Prior to cement, zirconia framework specimens underwent various surface treatments (sandblasting with 110 μm $Al_2O_3$ particles, milling with 240-grift silicon sand paper and silanization). Resin luting cement and glass ionomer luting cement were then applied on the surface of zirconia specimens. The specimens were then subjected to a shear force. The fractured surfaces were visually analyzed by scanning electron microscopy. The shear bond strength values of resin luting cement bonded to zirconia specimens were significantly higher than glass ionomer luting cement bonded to zirconia specimens (P < 0.05). The shear bond strength values of zirconia specimens sandblasted with 110 μm $Al_2O_3$ particles were significantly higher than those milled with silicon carbide papers and underwent silanization (P < 0.05). The shear bond strength values of zirconia specimens milled with silicon carbide papers and underwent silanization were not significantly different (P < 0.05). The highest shear bond strength values were achieved when the zirconia specimens were sandblasted and bonded to resin luting cement. Airborne-particle abrasion was an effective method which could enhance the bond strength of zirconia ceramics and cements. The resin luting cement exhibited a higher bond to zirconia than glass ionomer luting cement.

Opis:
Insensitive munitions improve the survivability of both weapons and their associated platforms. All weapon systems contain an explosive train which needs to meet the insensitive munitions criteria but also to reliably initiate the main charge explosive. The traditional cylindrical booster pellet has insufficient energy output to reliably initiate an insensitive main charge explosive. To ensure that this requirement can be achieved, a new highly effective booster charge structure was designed. New booster pellets of four different sizes were investigated by numerical simulation and the one with the most powerful output was selected for experimental study. The results show that the new booster pellet has more initiation capacity than a cylindrical booster pellet with the same mass and pressed density. The convergence pressure of the new booster pellet is much higher than that of a cylindrical booster pellet with the same density.

In this study, a methodology was presented to predict density stratified flows in the near-field of submerged bodies. The energy equation in temperature form was solved coupled with momentum and mass conservation equations. Linear stratification was achieved by the definition of the density as a function of temperature. At first, verifications were performed for the stratified flows passing a submerged horizontal circular cylinder, showing excellent agreement with available experimental data. The ability of the method to cope with variable density was demonstrated. Different turbulence models were used for different Re numbers and flow states. Based on the numerical methods proposed in this paper, the stratified flow was studied for the real scale benchmark DAPRA Suboff submarine. The approach used the VOF method for tracing the free surface. Turbulence was implemented with a k − ω based Detached Eddy Simulation (DES) approach. The effects of submarine speed, depth and density gradient on the free surface wave pattern were quantitatively analyzed. It was shown that, with the increasing of the speed of the submarine, the wavelength and wave height of the free surface wave were gradually increasing. The wave height of the free surface wave was gradually reduced as the submarine’s depth increased. Relative to the speed and submarine depth, the changes of the gradient density gradient have negligible effects on the free surface wave field.

Opis:
Long-distance safety of Marine search and rescue using drones can improve the searching speed. The current method is based on the long distance security classification of UAV.The degree of accuracy is low. A long-distance security modeling approach based on ArduinoMiniPro’s Marine search-and-rescue applying UAV is proposed. The method puts the fault tree analysis and relevant calculation for risk identification into use. The main factors affecting the safety of unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) are long-distance searching and rescuing. The experimental results show that the proposed method can effectively build modeling for the long-distance safety of the Marine search and rescue UAV.

In this paper, we propose a new method of measuring the target velocity by estimating the scaling parameter of a chaos-generating system. First, we derive the relation between the target velocity and the scaling parameter of the chaos-generating system. Then a new method for scaling parameter estimation of the chaotic system is proposed by exploiting the chaotic synchronization property. Finally, numerical simulations show the effectiveness of the proposed method in target velocity measurement.

The quantitative description of adhesion force dependence on the probe shapes are of importance in many scientific and industrial fields. In order to elucidate how the adhesion force varied with the probe shape in atomic force microscope manipulation experiment, we performed a theoretical study of the influences of the probe shape (the sphere and parabolic probe) on the adhesion force at different humidity. We found that the combined action of the triple point and the Kelvin radius guiding the trend of the adhesion force, and these two fundamental parameters are closely related to the probe shape. Whilst, the theoretical results demonstrate that the adhesion force is in good agreement with the experiment data if the van der Waals force is taken into account.

The primary condensed-phase combustion products of a boron-based fuel-rich propellant were ignited using a high-power CO2 laser in a pressurized and windowed combustion chamber under variable pressure. The ignition and combustion performances were characterized using an ultraviolet-visible spectrometer and a high-speed camera. The experimental results showed that the combustion of the condensed-phase combustion products originate from the combustion of carbon, and boron may not take any part in the combustion process because of the formation of a thick boron oxide coating and agglomeration after the primary combustion process. Both particle size and the ingredients play an important role in the combustion reaction of the condensed-phase products. It was observed that a lower particle size and a higher boron carbide content are beneficial for the combustion reaction of the products; higher primary and secondary combustion pressures clearly improved the secondary combustion efficiency of the propellant in the combustion reaction.

For a metal ceramic functionally graded (FGM) ring plate, considering variations in physical properties with temperature and a power-law distribution of material components along the thickness direction, thermoelastic coupled nonlinear vibration equation in thermal environment is derived by means of Kirchhoff’s thin plate theory and the Hamiltonian principle. The transverse nonlinear vibration differential equation of the inner and outside-clamped ring plate under static load is obtained by using the Galerkin method; moreover, perturbation solution of static deflection is carried out. An improved L-P method is employed to solve the strongly nonlinear vibration equation. The vibration response and nonlinear natural frequency expression are developed. Through numerical examples, natural frequency characteristic curves of the rotating FGM ring plate are plotted. The Runge Kutta method is applied to obtain vibration response, phase and power spectrum diagrams. The influence of different parameters on natural vibration characteristics is analyzed. The results show that analytical solutions are consistent with numerical solutions, and the natural frequency decreases with an increase in the metal content and surface temperature, but grows with an increase in the rotational speed.

The diffusion mechanisms of lithium ions in tetragonal phase as well as in Al and Nb stabilized cubic Li7La3Zr2O12 compounds were investigated by low-frequency internal friction technique. In the cubic Li7La3Zr2O12 phase, a remarkable relaxation-type internal friction peak PC with a peak height up to 0.12 was observed in the temperature range from 15°C to 60°C. In the tetragonal phase however, the height of the PT peak dropped to 0.01. The obvious difference of the relaxation strength between the cubic and tetragonal phases is due to the different distribution of lithium ions in lattice, ordered in the tetragonal phase and disordered in the cubic phase. Based on the crystalline structure of the cubic garnet-type Li7La3Zr2O12 compound, it is suggested that the high internal friction peak in the cubic phase may be attributed to two diffusion processes of lithium ions: 96h↔96h and 96h↔24d.
