The aim of the article is to show that some motifs and concepts which can be found in the expressionist dramas – emerged in the early part of the XXth century – have already been explored by Gérard de Nerval (1808‐ 1855) during the last years of his life. The paper analyses in particular the last – and unfinished – Nerval’s récit entitled Aurélia in which analogies with some techniques used by expressionist authors such as the exploration of the universe of dreams and soul or the research of the true identity of man are more than surprising.

System philosophy of Romuald Balawelder assumes that reality is a unity and multiplicity. The unity expresses the spirituality and multiplicity – phenomenality, which is subject to constant variation and therefore does not have its own identity, spirituality is invariability, and therefore is a full (real) existence. The purpose of conscious beings in the entire universe, due to their dual nature, is a transformation of consciousness by gradual rejection the multiplicity (phenomenality). The rejection of multiplicity is a desire to unity. Achieving unity is identical to the achievement of a pure life, which is identical with spirituality. The process of reaching spirituality occurs in cyclical transformation of reality in a natural and spontaneous way. All rights of spiritual evolution boils down to one basic law of universal creation.
Systemowa filozofia Romualda Balaweldera przyjmuje, że rzeczywistość jest jednością i zarazem wielością. Jedność wyraża duchowość, zaś wielość – zjawiskowość, która podlega ciągłej zmienności, a zatem nie ma własnej tożsamości. Duchowość jest niezmiennością, a zatem jest pełnym (prawdziwym) istnieniem. Celem istot świadomych w skali całego wszechświata, ze względu na podwójną ich naturę, jest przemiana świadomości przez stopniowe odrzucanie wielości (zjawiskowości). Odrzucenie wielości jest dążeniem do jedności. Uzyskanie jedności jest tożsame z osiągnięciem czystego życia, które jest identyczne z duchowością. Proces dochodzenia do duchowości występuje w cyklicznej przemianie rzeczywistości w sposób naturalny i spontaniczny. Wszystkie prawa duchowej ewolucji sprowadzają się do jednego podstawowego prawa powszechnego tworzenia.

Gerard Merkator (Kremer) (1512-1594), flamandzki kartograf, matematyk i geograf urodził sie w Rupelmonde we Flandrii 5 marca 1512. Podczas studiów w Bois-le-Duc i Lowanium poznał Georgiusa Macropediusa i Gemmę Frisiusa dzięki którym zainteresował się kartografią i naukową geografią. W roku 1534 założył pracownię geograficzną w Lowanium, a w latach 1537-1538 wydał swoją pierwszą mapę Palestyny i małą mapę świata w odwzorowaniu sercowym. W roku 1541 stworzył swój słynny globus ziemi, który otrzymał w prezencie król Karol V. W roku 1551 powstał kolejny globus, tym razem nieba. W 1544 Merkator został na krótko aresztowany i oskarżony o herezję. Wkrótce przyjął zaproszenie Uniwersytetu w Duisburgu, gdzie uczył matematyki w szkole przygotowującej kandydatów na studia. Następnie został kosmografem i osiadł na stałe w Niemczech. W roku 1554 w Duisburgu Merkator zakończył swój projekt nowej mapy Europy. "Odwzorowanie Merkatora" miało taka cechę, że południki, równoleżniki i boki rombów miały na mapie formę linii prostych. W 1569 Merkator przedstawił swoją mapę świata dla celów nawigacji. Była to ostatnia mapa wielkoformatowa w której zastosował odwzorowanie walcowe równokątne znane pod jego imieniem. Jako pierwszy użył słowa "atlas" w odniesieniu do zestawu map. W 1585 Merkator opublikował pierwszy tom swojego atlasu w formie książkowej. Po jego śmierci w 1594 roku jego syn Romuld Merkator i wydawca Henrik Hondius dokończyli Atlas i wydali go w dwóch częściach. Idee Gerarda Merkatora wywierają wielki wpływ na nowoczesną kartografię. Pozostawiły ślad w teorii i wzbogaciły kartografię matematyczną. Odwzorowanie Merkatora jest zawsze używane we wszelkiego rodzaju mapach nawigacyjnych (morskich, lotniczych i drogowych). Merkator przyczynił się także do powstania globusa i wniósł znaczący wkład w kartograficzną metodykę badań - nalegał, aby każdy produkt kartograficzny (mapa, globus) zawierał instrukcję użycia i metodę pomiarów kartometrycznych. Największym osiągnięciem naukowca jest ustalenie zasad tworzenia atlasów i samo słowo "atlas", któremu współczesne znaczenie nadał Merkator.
Gerard Mercator (Kremer) (1512-1594) - was a Flemish cartographer, mathematician and geographer, born at Rupelmonde, in Flanders, on the 5th of March 1512. While studding at Bois-le-Duc and Louvain (where he became licentiate), he met Georgius Macropedius and Gemma Frisius, from them he derived much of his inclination to cartography and scientific geography. In 1534 he founded his geographical establishment at Louvain and in 1537-1538 he published his earliest known map of Palestine and a small map of the world in double hart-shaped projection. In 1541 he issued the famous terrestrial globe which has been presented to King Charles V. In 1551 a celestial globe followed. In 1544 Mercator was arrested for short time and prosecuted for heresy and then he accepted the invitation from University of Duisburg. He taught mathematics in a school designed to prepare students for University. Then he became a cosmographer permanently settled in Germany. In 1554 in Duisburg Mercator completed his project to produce a new map of Europe. The 'Mercator projection' had the property that lines of longitude, latitude and rhomb lines appear as straight lines on the map. In 1569 Mercator presented his world map to be used in navigation. It was Mercator's last map in large format where he used the angle perspective cylindrical projection bearing his name. He was also the first to use the term 'atlas' for a collection of maps. In 1585 Mercator published the first volume of his own world atlas in a book form. After his death in 1594 his son Romuld Mercator together with map publisher Henrik Hondius completed the Atlas and published it in 1589 in 2 parts which included 80 maps. Ideas of Gerard Mercator have a great influence on modern cartography. They left the trace in its theory, enriched mathematical cartography. Mercator's projection is always used for all types of navigation maps (marine, aviation and auto). Mercator made the significant contribution in globes creation as well as in the cartographic method of research since he was the one who insisted that every cartographic product (map, globe) should be accompanied by the instructions for its use and the techniques on how to make cartometric measurements on the maps. The biggest contribution of the great scientist are the principles of atlas mapping and the word 'atlas' itself was started to be used by Mercator.

The article discusses the Gérard de Nerval’s voice in the debate on the sources and origins of French national literature. The main subjects of analysis are two of his articles from 1830, the prefaces to choice of poems of Ronsard, Du Bellay, Baïf, Belleau, Du Bartas, Chassignet, Desportes, and Régnier, as well as to selection from German poetry. In the light of the dispute in the second half of the eighteenth and the beginning of the nineteenth century over the greater importance of trouvères or troubadours as the fathers of national literature, Nerval’s position is less rigid and lacking pathos. He recalls the medieval noble and folk literature, one which is the product of chivalric culture unifying many groups and the other, “Gallic” which does not include a large part of the nation but which goes deeper into it and is more emotional in its expression. In the second type he mentions less popular occasional genres, for instance farces, fabliaux, facetiae and puts them as the examples of literature “from the heart of France”, “capable to inspire” and “to supply great ideas”. This type encompasses the sacred and profane, the multilingual, the seriousness of spiritual themes along with pure comedy. All these qualities according to Nerval reflect the French spirit and may be the sources of revival for true French romantic poetry.
Artykuł przedstawia głos Gérarda de Nervala w dyskusji o źródłach i początkach francuskiej literatury narodowej. Przedmiotem analizy są dwa artykuły z 1830 r., wstępy do Choix des poésies de Ronsard, Du Bellay, Baïf, Belleau, Du Bartas, Chassignet, Desportes, Régnier oraz Poésies allemandes. W kontekście sporu o wyższość truwerów lub trubadurów jako „ojców współczesnej literatury” i „wychowawców narodu”, który toczył się ostatnich dziesięcioleciach XVIII i na początku XIX wieku, stanowisko Nervala jawi się jako budujące mosty między zwaśnionymi stronami, oryginalne i wyzbyte niepotrzebnego patosu. Nerval przypomina, że w średniowiecznej literaturze francuskiej można dostrzec dwa prądy: „rycerski”, na który składają się m.in. powieści, poematy alegoryczne, ballady, oraz „galijski”, który przejawia się np. w misteriach, moralitetach, farsach i facecjach. Taka literatura, łącząca sacrum i profanum, różne języki, śmiech z nauką, oddaje zdaniem Nervala ducha narodu i w niej tkwią źródła odrodzenia francuskiej poezji.

Gdy język staje się obrazem: Konkretne metamorfozy we współczesnej liryce katolickiej – Konrad Weiß i Gerard Manley Hopkins Dlaczego obrazowość poezji jest bliższa religii lub religijnemu doświadczeniu niż podporządkowany zinstrumentalizowanemu rozumowi język dyskursu? Być może dlatego, że jest on zbyt nastawiony na dialogiczność. Alternatywa opiera się na swoistości religijnego i estetycznego doświadczenia poza przyczynowo-praktyczną łącznością. W jaki sposób można to ukazać? W jaki sposób za pomocą języka i poprzez język zostaje przerwana komunikacja i jak przemawia język, gdy stara się on połączyć religię z poezją. Poglądowość oferuje swego rodzaju konkretyzację. Literatura stosuje zatem tropy, aby uniknąć rozległych i wieloznacznych opisów. Obraz wyostrza każde zjawisko i nadaje mu przedmiotowość lub symuluje formę dającej się uchwycić obecności, równocześnie nie sugeruje jednoznacznego odczytania. Ta jego właściwość jest szczególnie ważna w obrębie sztuki sakralnej i ikonografii. Przedstawiciele współczesnej liryki katolickiej Konrad Weiß i Gerard Manley Hopkins sięgają po nią i łączą ją z oryginalnymi koncepcjami poetologicznymi. Redukcja aspektu znaczeniowego języka i obecność obrazu w słowie poetyckim prowadzi do celowego i jednocześnie kontemplacyjnego doświadczenia lub też rozważania/recepcji dzieła zbawienia i stworzenia oraz determinuje ukrytą funkcjonalność tego rodzaju poezji, która jest silnie związana z wyznaniem.     Warum kann sich eher die Dichtung mit ihrer Bildhaftigkeit an die Religion oder an religiöse Erfahrungen annähern als die einer instrumentellen Vernunft gehorchende Sprache des Diskurses? Vielleicht, weil letztere zu sehr auf Kommunikabilität und damit auf Dialogizität ausgerichtet ist. Die Alternative beharrt auf der Eigenart religiöser und ästhetischer Erfahrung, jenseits kausalpraktischer Vernetzbarkeit. Woran könnte das festgemacht werden? Wie wird mit und durch die Sprache Kommunikation unterbrochen und wie spricht wiederum diese Sprache, wenn sie Religion und Dichtung miteinander zu fusionieren trachtet? Anschaulichkeit bietet so etwas wie Konkretisation. Deshalb benutzt die Literatur den Apparat der Tropen, um langatmige und vieldeutige Umschreibungen zu vermeiden. Das Bild verdeutlicht einen Sachverhalt und macht ihn quasi gegenständlich bzw. simuliert eine Form von fassbarer Anwesenheit, ohne auf eine direkte Verständlichkeit hin ausgerichtet zu sein. Im Bereich der sakralen Kunst und Ikonographie ist derlei von großer Bedeutung und wird von Lyrikern einer modernen katholischen Literatur wie Konrad Weiß und Gerard Manley Hopkins aufgegriffen und mit einem eigenständigen poetologischen Konzept verbunden: Zu Ungunsten einer semantisierenden Sprache wird über die Anwesenheit des Bildes im lyrischen Wort eine gezieltere und zugleich kontemplativere Begegnung oder auch Betrachtung/Rezeption des Heils- und auch Schöpfungsgeschehens evoziert, worin die verborgene Funktionalität dieser stark konfessionsgebundenen Dichtung liegt.
Why is it easier to link poetry and its imagery to religion than to the language of discourse that obeys an instrumental reason? Perhaps it refers too much to communicational configurations and thus to dialogicity. The alternative deals with a special evidence of aesthetic und religious experiences, without causal-practical connectivity. How can it be expressed? How is communication heard with and through language and how does this language speak when it merges religion and poetry? Visuality und pictoriality needs something like concretization. Poetry uses the ways of tropism to avoid paraphrases. The picture clarifies a situation and makes it more concrete, simulates a form of presence, without being towards a direct comprehensibility or reference. In the field of sacred art and iconography, this is of great importance and is taken up by poets of modern literary Catholicism like Konrad Weiß and Gerard Manley Hopkins and it is associated with a certain poetological concept: To the detriment of a semantizing language, the management of the image in the lyrical word creates a presence and at the same time more contemplative encounter or contemplation/reception of the sacred events of salvation and creation, in which the hidden function of this strong denominational poetry lies.

The volume constitutes a summary of the First Congress of Polish Museologists (the Congress) which was held in Łódź on 23–25 April 2015. The Congress aimed at raising key issues for Polish museology, on one hand reflecting on its essence and functions, and on the other trying to indicate particular solutions in order to fix the museum system. The publication includes conference papers, minutes of plenary sessions, as well as resolutions adopted during the Congress. The whole was complemented with an index of persons and numerous photographs. While trying to focus on some of the main subjects in the programme of the Congress (and thus, of the book), it is impossible to forget that the change in the law regarding museums should be preceded by a comprehensive discussion on the professional identity of museum professionals, and on the condition of the institutions where they work. We should therefore devise an actual museum habitus, not avoiding key questions such as who should be considered as a museum professional and which unique features make an object become a museum exhibit. The need for discussion and to specify the terms we use was mentioned by many participants in the meeting in Łódź, including outside experts. Museums are specific institutions whose sense of existence, as well as an important feature of their activity, is social service understood as the dissemination of knowledge. The decisions jointly taken during the Congress will facilitate our reform of our institutions’ internal organisation. They will also enable us to build ties with organisers of museum institutions aiming at maintaining such museums’ autonomy, so they can fully achieve their mission.

This article will focus on different forms of hybridization in the contemporary Belgian fantasy novel. It demonstrates aesthetic communion by referring to four authors: Alain Dartevelle, Christopher Gérard, Thomas Gunzig and Bernard Quiriny. By analyzing the syncretism at once generic, poetic and stylistic of their novels, it traces the contours of their mixed writing. It also reflects on the place that these novelists reserve for the supernatural, an ingredient inherent in fantastic alchemy, as well as on the national, even Belgian, character of their writing.
Niniejszy artykuł poświęcony jest różnorodnym formom hybrydyzacji w belgijskiej powieści fantastycznej z początku XXI wieku, w odwołaniu do twórczości czterech autorów: Alaina Dartevelle’a, Christophera Gérarda, Thomasa Gunziga i Bernarda Quiriny’ego. Analizując synkretyzm gatunkowy, poetycki (postacie, wymiar czasoprzestrzenny) i stylistyczny ich powieści autorka ukazuje ich wspólne cechy, które wpisują je w estetykę postmodernistyczną. Pochyla się także nad miejscem, jakie zajmuje w nich zjawisko nadprzyrodzone, podstawowy składnik alchemii fantastycznej, a także nad belgijskimi wyznacznikami pisarstwa owych autorów.

This text is an analysis of the concept of paratext based on contemporary literature. In addition to the theoretical part concentrating on the idea of Gérard Genette, some information on the Chick-Lit genre appeared in the article. Among other things, genre characteristics, historical backgrounds and biographical notes of the authors of the analysed novels were described. Genette's theory clearly shows that an inseparable part of the book as a final product is its cover and what the reader finds on it. These are, among others, the title, abstract, of significance is also the colouring or even the location of the author's name. All these elements have been described in detail and analysed according to what Gérard Genette’s gives.
Niniejszy tekst stanowi analizę pojęcia paratekstualności opartą na literaturze współczesnej. Obok części teoretycznej, dotyczącej konceptu Gérarda Genette'a, w artykule przedstawione zostały informacje na temat omawianego gatunku Chick-lit. Opisane zostały między innymi cechy gatunkowe, tło historyczne oraz notki biograficzne o autorkach analizowanych powieści. Z teorii Génette'a wynika, iż nieodłączną częścią książki, jako produktu końcowego, jest jej okładka oraz to, co czytelnik na niej znajduje. Są to między innymi tytuł, streszczenie, nie bez znaczenia jest również kolorystyka, czy chociażby umiejscowienie nazwiska autora. Wszystkie te elementy zostały szczegółowo opisane i poddane analizie zgodnie z założeniami koncepcji Gérarda Genette'a.

In concordance with the scholarly profile of the Warsaw historiographical school of the time, Aleksander Gieysztor’s early research, which begun in the 1930s. was devoted to the Carolingian monarchy and the origins of the crusade movement. It was not until after the Second World War that Gieysztor turned his attention to the Slavic studies, conducted from the very beginning by the Poznań historiographical school, to which Gerard Labuda remained faithful throughout his research career. Labuda was primarily interested in Western Slavdom, the origins of Slavic states (Samo’s Empire) and the political and legal aspects of the functioning of early states in Central Europe. Aleksander Gieysztor’s studies on Slavic Europe focused mainly on early medieval Rus’ and on comparative research confronting the phenomena of the history of culture and the history of state and social institutions in Central and Eastern Europe with analogous phenomena and processes known from Carolingian and post-Carolingian Europe.

The Martinist ideas movement, perceived as a mystical-esoteric branch of Christianity, emerged in the 18th century. The three original founders (Martines de Pasqually, Louis-Claude de Saint-Martin, Jean-Baptiste Willermoz) brought different elements to it, moulding the final shape of the doctrine. Martinism owes its modern revival and popularity to another esotericist. Gerard Encausse (1865-1916) brought fresh spirit to the inheritance of his antecedents and gave it its final architecture. The present text describes the birth of this movement, with special attention to the role of Encausse in its formation.

The case study article aims to reconstruct the biography of Daniel Gödtke (1640/41 – after 1674), a doctor of philosophy and medicine from Gdansk and to analyse the specific nature and scope of his studies in the United Provinces of the Netherlands, so that it can be explained what impact study visits in academic centres had on students from the semiperipheral European countries. The article makes use of the inductive, philological, genealogical and comparative methods; evidential paradigm was also used. In the 1650s, 1660s and 1670s, the inhabitants of Royal Prussia willingly took up medical studies at Dutch universities and studied in academic gymnasia there. Leiden, Amsterdam and other places in the Northern Netherlands, which were home for famous anatomists, surgeons, lithotomists, chymiatrists, collectors and botanists, were also important stops en route of young students of ars medica from the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth, mainly Protestants, who later became graduates of French, Swiss or German universities. Daniel Gödtke, the half-brother of the painter Daniel Schultz the Younger, was one of the seventeenth-century doctors of philosophy and medicine from Gdansk who has been forgotten by contemporary history. He studied at the University of Leiden and the Athenaeum Illustre of Amsterdam, and in 1671 graduated from the University of Harderwijk; his inaugural dispute focused on practical medicine. His most influential teacher during his stay in the Northern Netherlands was Gerard Blaes, a famous anatomist and chymiatrist, who supervised Gödtke when he conducted his zootomy research. The cooperation between the student and the master resulted in two exercitii gratia disputes presented by Gödtke in Amsterdam in 1666, as well as two volumes of anatomical observations conducted by the collegium privatum Amstelodamense (1667 and 1674), where Gödtke was a member and a participant. The promising scientific career of Gödtke was interrupted before his return to his hometown, most probably due to his premature death.

Artykuł stanowi też interesujący głos w dyskusji na temat istoty recepcji nurtów i koncepcji filozoficznych.
Polish translation of an article by Gérard Chazal, devoted to the relationship of François Dagognet’s philosophy to the work of Gaston Bachelard. The author shows the complexity of this relationship, analyzing it in relation to the philosophy of science (here, among others, analyzes the issue of the historicity of the process of formation of the knowledge), the philosophy of technology and the philosophy of art. In many dimensions Chazal shows that Dagognet was inspired not so much by the letter of Bachelard’s texts as by their spirit, using his methods and concepts in areas that Bachelard was not or only marginally interested in (including in the biological and medical sciences, in the visual arts). The article is also an interesting voice in the discussion about the essence of the reception of philosophical concepts and currents. In this aspect author asks about the negation of the source theory in its continuations at the same time asking whether it is not this kind of negative inspiration that best testifies to the vitality of the theory — alive due to constant creative transformations.

Granice polityczne są przedmiotem badań geografii politycznej. Pomimo globalizacji i innych procesów nie tracą one na znaczeniu. Mają wpływ na wiele dziedzin życia, w tym i turystykę. Celem tego opracowania jest próba uporządkowania wiedzy na temat wzajemnych relacji pomiędzy turystyką a granicami politycznymi. Problematyka ta była podejmowana przez wielu autorów na świecie, jednak w Polsce nie spotkała się dotychczas z większym zainteresowaniem. Omawiane relacje można umownie uprościć do wpływu granic politycznych na turystykę i turystyki na granice polityczne. W każdym przypadku wpływ ten może mieć charakter pozytywny bądź negatywny. Wpływ granic politycznych na turystykę widoczny jest w tym, że stanowią one barierę w podróży, służą kontroli ruchu turystycznego, wpływają na koszty i zróżnicowanie środowiska geograficznego oraz przyczyniają się do likwidacji pewnych zjawisk. Granice budzą zainteresowanie turystów ze względu na to, że istnieją oraz z powodu formy swojego istnienia. Samo pokonywanie granicy jest intrygujące, tak samo jak materialne i niematerialne elementy związane z granicą, zarówno obecne, jak i historyczne. Ponadto granica przyczynia się do powstania innych zjawisk, które budzą zainteresowanie turystów. Turystyka również ma wpływ na granice polityczne, jednak wydaje się, że ma to mniejsze znaczenie. Turystyka może wpływać na uproszczenie procedur granicznych i zmiany w infrastrukturze na granicy. Przyczynia się do zmian w krajobrazie, najczęściej z pozytywnymi efektami, oraz rozwoju różnorodnych zjawisk na pograniczu, co może prowadzić do powstania swoistej atmosfery pogranicza.
Political boundaries are the subject of research in political geography till the beginning. They are still of vital importance, in spite of globalization and similar phenomena. A boundary affects various areas of life, including tourism. The aim of this paper/study is to considerate and highlight interactions between political boundaries and tourism. It attracts much of the attention of researchers in many countries, but in Poland there are very few scholars engaged in that field. Relationships between political boundaries and tourism one can simplify to the impact of boundaries on tourism and, on the contrary, tourism on political boundaries. In each case, the impact may be positive or negative in nature. Political boundaries are not only barriers to tourist movement, but they are also used to control travelling people, affect costs, and contribute to the diversity of geographical environment. Furthermore, borders can also block some investments or even cause social or physical phenomena (because of military and strategic reasons). They attract tourists on their own due to their forms, shapes and special features. Border crossing is intriguing in itself as well as because of material and immaterial, contemporary and historical items connected with a borderline. Moreover, a political boundary may lead to the emergence of a variety of other things, which can be tourist attractions. As it was stated above, political boundaries affect tourism, but tourism also has some impact on political boundaries, although its importance is probably minor. Tourism can influence the simplification of border procedures and the improvement of border infrastructure. Besides, tourism can contribute to the transformation of landscape in the borderland and the development of various phenomena, which may result in the creation of the peculiar borderland atmosphere.

Abstract. Let H be the Hecke algebra of the symmetric group. With each subset S ⊂ [1,n-1], we associate two idempotents $□_S$ and $∇_S$ which are q-deformations of the symmetrizer and antisymmetrizer relative to the Young subgroup ${\goth S}_{I_S}$ generated by the simple transpositions ${(i,i+1)}_{i ∈ S}$. We give here explicit bases for the intertwining space $□_{S_1}H ∇_{S_2}$, indexed by the double classes ${\goth S}_{I_{S_1}}\{\goth S}_n/{\goth S}_{I_{S_2}}$. We also compute bases and characters of the right ideals {\goth I}(I,J)= □_{S_1}H ∇_{S_2}H.

The 3-Opt procedure deals with interchanging three edges of a tour with three edges not on that tour. For n≥6, the 3-Interchange Graph is a graph on 1/2(n-1)! vertices, corresponding to the hamiltonian tours in K_n; two vertices are adjacent iff the corresponding hamiltonian tours differ in an interchange of 3 edges; i.e. the tours differ in a single 3-Opt step. It is shown that the 3-Interchange Graph is a hamiltonian subgraph of the Symmetric Traveling Salesman Polytope. Upper bounds are derived for the diameters of the 3-Interchange Graph and the union of the 2- and the 3-Interchange Graphs. Finally, some new adjacency properties for the Asymmetric Traveling Salesman Polytope and the Assignment Polytope are given.

Travel, Insanity and Writing. The Study of Nerval Voyage on Orient by Nerval corresponds with the trend of travel literature developed in France in the 19th century and was influenced by the works of François-René de Chateaubriand and Alphonse de Lamartine. It recounts the writer’s memories of his travels to Vienna and the Middle East. Nerval’s interest in Oriental culture is evidenced by the level of his preparation prior to departure. In order to be fully informed he familarised himself with a wealth of literature on the customs of Arabic countries. He sought to deepen his knowledge further during his travels through Egypt, Lebanon and Turkey. Diagnosed as insane, Nerval was forced to interrupt his travels. In order to demonstrate the improvement in his mental health, Nerval wrote an account of two of his travels. During his stay at the asylum under the care of doctor Blanche, Nerval developed an interest in the idea and origins of insanity and decided to seek answers from the oriental culture.

Das semantische Feld des Lebensweltbegriffs dehnt sich auf Ontologie („In-der-Welt- Sein“), Anthropologie, Biologie, Naturwissenschaften überhaupt, sowie auf Soziologie aus. Mittlerweile ist aber auch ein inflationärer journalistischer Gebrauch festzustellen, der gleichsam den umgangssprachlichen, „lebensweltlichen“ Charakter des Lebensweltbegriffes bestätigt. Dies macht zugleich seine Stärke und seine Schwäche aus. Dem originären Husserl’schen Lebensweltbegriff selbst hat man deshalb seine Verschwommenheit oder gar Widersprüchlichkeit vorgeworfen, bezeichnet er doch einen Horizont von Horizonten – und zudem einen jeweils persönlichen, den meinigen, der mich in meinem Hier-Sein mit den Horizonten anderer Menschen verbindet. Von der Beobachtung ausgehend, dass der Husserl’sche Begriff von Geburt an sowohl wissenschafts- als auch kulturkritisch beladen ist und dass der Schein unmittelbarer Selbstverständlichkeit, mit der auf die Lebenswelt verwiesen wird, sich rasch als Reaktion auf eine Krisensituation – nämlich auf einen Verlust der Übersichtlichkeit – entpuppt, wird im folgenden Aufsatz versucht, das Verhältnis des Lebensweltbegriffs zur Politik und seine analytische Brauchbarkeit zu hinterfragen.
Semantyczne pole pojęcia „świat życia” rozciąga się na ontologię („bycie-w-świecie”), antropologię, biologię, nauki przyrodnicze w ogóle, a także na socjologię. Ale też można skonstatować pewien inflacyjny, dziennikarski sposób używania tego terminu, który jakby potwierdza jego potoczny, „życiowy“ charakter. Stanowi to zarówno o jego sile, jak i słabości. Dlatego źródłowemu Husserlowskiemu pojęciu świata życia zarzucano, że jest mgliste czy wręcz sprzeczne. Oznacza ono przecież horyzont horyzontów, a ponadto za każdym razem horyzont osobisty, mój, który mnie, w moim byciu tutaj, łączy z horyzontami innych ludzi. Wychodząc od obserwacji, że Husserlowskie pojęcie już od początku jest narażone na krytyki ze strony nauki i kultury oraz że pozór bezpośredniej oczywistości, z którą wskazuje się na świat życia, szybko okazuje się reakcją na sytuację kryzysu – a mianowicie na utratę przejrzystości – próbuję w poniższym artykule przebadać stosunek pojęcia świata życia do polityki oraz sprawdzić jego analityczną przydatność.
The semantic field of the notion of the “lifeworld” extends onto ontology (“being-in theworld”), anthropology biology, life sciences in general, as well as sociology. Meanwhile, however, is another, journalistic and inflationary, usage of the term spread in everyday life, which in a way confirms its informal, “lifelike” character. This is both a strength and a weakness. That’s exactly why the Husserlian notion has been accused of being vague or downright contradictory. Indeed, it means a horizon of horizons, and in every instance a personal horizon, one of my own, which connects me, in my being-here, with the horizons of others. The present text departs from the observation that the Husserlian notion involves since the beginning a culture-critical as well as a science-critical potential, and that the appearance of direct obviousness that is so typical of the reference to the lifeworld quickly turns out a reaction to a crisis, and specifically a loss of transparency. It attempts to examine the relation between the notion of the lifeworld to politics and tests its analytical usefulness.

Starting from the idea of "stationism" formulated by the artist and the "art stations" he founded in Germany, the author recalls his first experiences from Elbląg (from the 1950s and 1960s) and his participation in a symposium in Opole Zdrój as part of the plein-air event Ziemia Zgorzelecka – 1971. She presents Kwiatkowski's culturally creative artistic activity, among others in connection with the EL Gallery, Zakłady Mechaniczne Zamech and the Biennial of Spatial Forms, as well as reveals its social context: the emphasis on shaping the awareness of ordinary people by involving them in co-creating art and entering with art into public space.

Celem artykułu jest ukazanie podstawowych treści dotyczących duchowości głosicieli Ewangelii zawartych w piątym rozdziale adhortacji apostolskiej papieża Franciszka Evangelii gaudium. W punkcie pierwszym, zatytułowanym „Pojęcie duchowości”, zauważono, że koncentruje się ona na chrześcijańskim jej rozumieniu, czyli związku z Duchem Świętym. W punkcie drugim, „Specyfika duchowości głosicieli Ewangelii”, starano się ukazać wymieniane przez papieża cechy charakteryzujące duchowość głosicieli Ewangelii, takie jak: prowadzenie przez Ducha Świętego, obcowanie ze słowem Boga, zjednoczenie z Chrystusem, umiłowanie ludu i modlitwa za niego oraz osobowość wędrowca. W trzecim punkcie, „Związek duchowości z głoszeniem Ewangelii”, poszukiwano przytaczanych przez Franciszka racji uzasadniających akcentowany związek duchowości ze skutecznością ewangelizacji. Okazało się, że sprowadzają się one do motywowania głoszenia Ewangelii, zapewniania mu mocy, obdarzanie pogodą ducha. W ostatnim punkcie zwrócono uwagę na przypomniane przez papieża, tym razem z punku widzenia ewangelizatorów, sposoby pogłębiania duchowości. Po zmobilizowania ewangelizatorów do troski o swoją duchowość, przez odwołanie się do związku między świętością ewangelizatora a skutecznością jego posługi, zalecenia papieża sprowadzają się do modlitwy jako źródła ich wszechstronnej formacji.
The aim of the paper is to present the basic content of the spirituality of evangelists contained in the fifth chapter of the Apostolic Exhortation of Pope Francis Evangelii gaudium. On the first point, “The concept of spirituality,” it was noted that it focuses on its Christian meaning or relationship with the Holy Spirit. The second point, “The specificity of the spirituality of evangelists,” sought to show characteristics of the spirituality of evangelists mentioned by Pope such as driving through the Holy Spirit, communion with the word of God, union with Christ, the love of the people and pray for him and the personality of the wanderer. In the third point, “The association of the spirituality with the proclamation of the Gospel” cited by Francis sought to justify stressed because of the relationship of spirituality to the efficacy of evangelization. It turned out that it boils down to: motivate the proclamation of the Gospel, providing power to him, bestowal of serenity. The last point highlights recalled by the Pope, this time from the point of view of evangelizers, ways of deepening spirituality. After mobilizing evangelizers to care for their spiritual, by reference to the relationship between the holiness of evangelist and the effectiveness of his ministry, Pope recommendations boil down to pray as part of their comprehensive formation.

It would appear that the whole Catholic educational project faces an important decision regarding its future development. Decades of support for the vulgarised Rahnerian anthropological vision is now serving as a conduit for the Re-contextualisation perspectives of Boeve and his collaborators, and a parallel effort to re-define the meaning of a successful Catholic educational enterprise. Despite the clear findings of contemporary educational research of eminent and respected theorists such as Hattie, Sweller, Kirschner, Clarke and Lillard (all of whom support a narrowing of the field of study of novice learners), determined efforts are still being made in the field of catechesis to emphasise the symbolic over concrete real; a disparagement of content in favour of process. This continues to find its most damaging application in the denigration of a permanently valid and divinely revealed Deposit of Faith (admittedly, one which continues to be subject to ever deepening understanding). Contemporary students are encouraged to exchange this patrimony for a brave new world of moral and intellectual autonomy, whereby they are encouraged to opt for their own inexpertly constructed, personally validated version of reality, made in their own image and according to their own taste. It can be argued, of course, that such a worldview is neither brave nor new. Students are merely being asked to situate themselves outside the hermeneutic circle of the Catholic faith, and told that they should make up their own minds regarding what they will accept – all based on their own independent inquiries. Catholic schools now face the choice of grounding themselves in an effective epistemology, supported now both by the traditions of the Church and the findings of modern educational research, which is capable of mediating the Christian message with clarity. Further work needs to be done to articulate the practical implications of such a desirable prospect. Alternatively, Catholic schools may choose to adopt a Recontexualising trajectory and widen the gulf between themselves and their traditional roots still further.

W roku 2017 przypadają 110. rocznica urodzin oraz 40. rocznica śmierci profesora Kazimierza Malinowskiego, z kolei w czerwcu 2016 r. minęło półwiecze od chwili ponownego objęcia przez niego stanowiska dyrektora Muzeum Narodowego w Poznaniu. Wszystkie te okoliczności domagają się przypomnienia wielce zasłużonej dla polskiego muzealnictwa, jak i poznańskiego Muzeum Narodowego postaci. Tytuł niniejszego tekstu stanowi parafrazę tytułu artykułu Kazimierza Malinowskiego Michał Walicki – muzeolog, zamieszczonego w czasopiśmie „Muzealnictwo”, a poświęconego postaci słynnego historyka sztuki i badacza plastyki gotyckiej w Polsce. Walicki mniej jest znany jako muzeolog, a jeszcze mniej jako mentor samego Malinowskiego, ale jeżeliby podjąć próbę określenia całego bogatego spektrum działalności tego ostatniego jednym tylko słowem, to właśnie nieco lekceważony dzisiaj termin „muzeolog” wydaje się być najbardziej pojemny i adekwatny. Pozwala bowiem przypomnieć postać K. Malinowskiego w kilku najważniejszych aspektach jego działalności, a mianowicie jako: 1/ muzeologa sensu stricto, teoretyka, ale i praktyka pracującego w muzeum i biorącego udział w najszerzej rozumianym życiu środowiska, 2/ propagatora społecznej roli muzeów jako instytucji otwartych na publiczność, 3/ wieloletniego dyrektora Muzeum Narodowego w Poznaniu, wizjonera i kuratora nowego programu merytorycznego instytucji. Malinowski należał do grona kilku najważniejszych postaci powojennego polskiego muzealnictwa, lecz jest dzisiaj prawie zupełnie zapomniany. Całkowita niemal nieobecność tego nazwiska w dzisiejszym życiu muzealnym determinuje także niezadawalający stan badań nad jego biografią zawodową, tymczasem działalność Malinowskiego, choćby tylko w dziedzinie muzealnictwa – bo drugim istotnym obszarem jego aktywności było konserwatorstwo – należy dopiero gruntownie przebadać. Wiele zatem sądów czy opinii zamieszczonych powyżej należy na obecnym etapie badań potraktować jako sugestie i hipotezy, które muszą jeszcze podlegać dalszej szczegółowej weryfikacji. Tym niemniej naszkicowane jedynie pobieżnie najważniejsze – jak się wydaje – tropy działalności poznańskiego muzeologa przedstawią jego postać jako propagatora społecznej roli muzeów – instytucji otwartych na publiczność, co z kolei ukaże aktualność postulatów Malinowskiego wobec dzisiejszego namysłu nad funkcjami muzeów.

Hasło stara się wyjaśnić, jakie mechanizmy rządzą znanym każdemu czytelnikowi utworów literackich doznaniem szczególnego wstrząsu estetycznego wywołanego przez mały fragment utworu lub nawet pojedyncze zdanie. Po przedstawieniu kilku najogólniejszych, możliwych sposobów rozumienia kategorii trafności, autor przechodzi do rozważań na temat odcieni znaczeniowych, jakich może ona nabierać, w zależności od tego, czy traktowana jest jako immanentna cecha danej wypowiedzi literackiej, czy też jako jakość kształtująca się dopiero w procesie jej odbioru.
This entry attempts to explain what the mechanisms that govern the experience, familiar to every reader of literary works, of a particular aesthetic frisson elicited by a small passage in a work or even a single sentence. After presenting a handful of very general ways of understanding the category of aptness, the author moves to consider the subject of the possible shades of meaning it can take on depending on whether we treat it as an immanent trait of a given literary utterance or as a quality that takes form only during the process of the work’s reception.

This paper explores reasons for the apparent ineffectiveness of religious education programmes in the Catholic schools of the West. It examines the impact of the anti-realist educational philosophy of Constructivism and the inadequacy of responses to these challenges, including those proposed by Recontextualisation theologians. The paper examines the work of the nineteenth century Eng-lish Cardinal, John Henry Newman, and recommends possible solutions to the crisis in religious education based on the work of his insights. It also argues the case for certitude as a necessary component of religious education.
