Opis:
The paper discusses a linear differential-difference equation of neutral type with linear coefficients, when at the initial time moment t = 0 the value of the desired function x(t) is known. The authors are not familiar with any results which would state the solvability conditions for the given problem in the class of analytical functions. A polynomial of some degree N is introduced into the investigation. Then the term "polynomial quasisolution" (PQ-solution) is understood in the sense of appearance of the residual Δ(t) = O(tN), when this polynomial is substituted into the initial problem. The paper is devoted to finding PQ-solutions for the initial-value problem under analysis.

Let ${\mathcal B} ={f:ℝ → ℝ: f is bounded}$, and ${\mathcal M} ={f:ℝ → ℝ: f is Lebesgue measurable}$. We show that there is a linear operator $Φ :{\mathcal B} → {\mathcal M}$ such that Φ(f)=f a.e. for every $f ∈ {\mathcal B} ∩ {\mathcal M}$, and Φ commutes with all translations. On the other hand, if $Φ : {\mathcal B} → {\mathcal M}$ is a linear operator such that Φ(f)=f for every $f ∈ {\mathcal B} ∩ {\mathcal M}$, then the group $G_Φ$ ={ a ∈ ℝ:Φ commutes with the translation by a} is of measure zero and, assuming Martin's axiom, is of cardinality less than continuum. Let Φ be a linear operator from $ℂ^ℝ$ into the space of complex-valued measurable functions. We show that if Φ(f) is non-zero for every $f(x)=e^{cx}$, then $G_Φ$ must be discrete. If Φ(f) is non-zero for a single polynomial-exponential f, then $G_Φ$ is countable, moreover, the elements of $G_Φ$ are commensurable. We construct a projection from $ℂ^ℝ$ onto the polynomials that commutes with rational translations. All these results are closely connected with the solvability of certain systems of difference equations.

In addition, we study the existence and uniqueness of positive equilibria, the attractivity and the global asymptotic stability of these equilibria of some related systems of difference equations.

$Δx_{n} = ∑_{i=0}^∞ a^{i}_{n} f(x_{n+i})$.
We show that this equation has a solution asymptotically equal to a.
As an application of our result we study the difference equation
$Δx_{n} = ∑_{i=0}^∞ a^i_{n}g(x_{n+i}) + ∑_{i=0}^∞ b^{i}_{n}h(x_{n+i}) + y_{n}$
and give conditions when this equation has solutions.
In this note we extend the results from [8,9]. For example, in [9] the function f is a real Lipschitz function. We suppose that f has values in a Banach space and satisfies some conditions with respect to the measure of noncompactness and measure of weak noncompactness.

Assume the eigenvalues and the weights are given for a difference boundary value problem and that the form of the boundary conditions at the endpoints is known. In particular, it is known whether the endpoints are fixed (i.e. Dirichlet or non-Dirichlet boundary conditions) or whether the endpoints are free to move (i.e. boundary conditions with affine dependence on the eigenparameter). This work illustrates how the potential as well as the exact boundary conditions can be uniquely reconstructed. The procedure is inductive on the number of unit intervals. This paper follows along the lines of S. Currie and A. Love, Inverse problems for difference equations with quadratic eigenparameter dependent boundary conditions, \emph{Quaestiones Mathematicae}, 40 (2017), no. 7, 861−877. Since the inverse problem considered in this paper contains more unknowns than the inverse problem considered in the above reference, an additional spectrum is required more often than was the case in the unique reconstruction of the potential alone.

This paper studies the solution space of systems of algebraic and difference equations, given as auto-regressive (AR) representations A(σ) β (k) = 0, where σ denotes the shift forward operator and A(σ) is a regular polynomial matrix. The solution space of such systems consists of forward and backward propagating solutions, over a finite time horizon. This solution space can be constructed from knowledge of the finite and infinite elementary divisor structure of A(σ) . This work deals with the inverse problem of constructing a family of polynomial matrices A(σ) such that the system A(σ) β (k) = 0 satisfies some given forward and backward behavior. Initially, the connection between the backward behavior of an AR representation and the forward behavior of its dual system is showcased. This result is used to construct a system satisfying a certain backward behavior. By combining this result with the method provided by Gohberg et al. (2009) for constructing a system with a forward behavior, an algorithm is proposed for computing a system satisfying the prescribed forward and backward behavior.

Opis:
This work concerns the oscillation and asymptotic properties of solutions to the non-linear difference equation with advanced arguments [formula]. We establish sufficient conditions for the existence of positive, and negative solutions. Then we obtain conditions for solutions to be bounded, convergent to positive infinity and to negative infinity and to zero. Also we obtain conditions for all solutions to be oscillatory.

Opis:
A class of fourth-order neutral type difference equations with quasidifferences and deviating arguments is considered. Our approach is based on studying the considered equation as a system of a four-dimensional difference system. The sufficient conditions under which the considered equation has no quickly oscillatory solutions are given. Finally, the sufficient conditions under which the equation is almost oscillatory are presented.

The aim of this note is to describe the continuation theorem of [39,40] directly in the context of Brouwer degree, providing in this way a simple frame for multiple applications to nonlinear difference equations, and to show how the corresponding reduction property can be seen as an extension of the well-known reduction formula of Leray and Schauder [24], which is fundamental for their construction of Leray-Schauder's degree in normed vector spaces.

Opis:
We extend results of Campbell, Meyer, Jr. and Rose of applications of the Drazine inverse to linear systems of differential equations with singular constant coefficients to solutions of linear systems of difference equations A x_(n+1)+B x_n= f_n ,n≥0 when A and B are m×m complex matrices and may both singular, under conditions that rank(A)=1 and trace of A is not equal zero. f_n is an arbitrary function in C^m, and x_n∈C^m. We give a new closed form for all solutions of those systems when they are tractable, using the theory of the Drazin inverse, and a matrix K∈C^(m×m).

Opis:
We extend results of Campbell of the linear systems of differential equations A x ̇+ Bx=f when A and B are rectangular, and results of Kanan of solution of a class of singular linear systems of difference equations A x_(n+1)+ Bx_n=f_n when A and B are square, to such systems of difference equations when A and B are rectangular. Explicit solutions of the last one are derived for several cases. One such is, when the matrix (λA+B) is one-to-one, another case is when such matrix is onto, for a scalar λ∈C. Also, explicit solutions are derived for the case that A is onto, and for the case that B is onto.

Opis:
In this paper, we study the nonoscillatory behavior of three classes of fractional difference equations. The investigations are presented in three different folds. Unlike most existing nonoscillation results which have been established by employing Riccati transfor mation technique, we employ herein an easily verifiable approach based on the fractional Taylor’s difference formula, some features of discrete fractional calculus and mathematical inequalities. The theoretical findings are demonstrated by examples. We end the paper by a concluding remark.

It is shown that any μ ∈ C is an infinite multiplicity eigenvalue of the Steklov smoothing operator Sh acting on the space [formula]. For μ ≠ 0 the eigenvalue-eigenfunction problem leads to studying a differential-difference equation of mixed type. An existence and uniqueness theorem is proved for this equation. Further a transformation group is defined on a countably normed space of initial functions and the spectrum of the generator of this group is studied. Some possible generalizations are pointed out.
