Opis:
A diverse elasmobranch fauna was collected from the early Danian Rødvig Formation and the early to middle Danian Stevns Klint Formation at Stevns Klint and from the middle Danian Faxe Formation at Faxe, Denmark. Teeth from 27 species of sharks are described including the earliest records of Chlamydoselachus and Heptranchias howelli from Europe. The fauna collected at the Faxe quarry is rich in large species of shark including Sphenodus lundgreni and Cretalamna appendiculata and includes no fewer than four species of Hexanchiformes. The species collected yield an interesting insight into shark diversity in the Boreal Sea during the earliest Paleogene. The early Danian fauna recorded from the Cerithium Limestone represents an impoverished Maastrichtian fauna, whereas the fauna found in the slightly younger bryozoan limestone is representative of a pronounced cold water fauna. Several species that hitherto have only been known from the Late Cretaceous have been identified, clearly indicating that the K–T boundary was not the end of the Cretaceous fauna; it lingered and survived into the early Danian.

Opis:
In this study, some physical and mechanical performances of artificial aggregated lightweight concretes were compared. Special empirical models were developed to estimate the elasticity modulus of lightweight aggregate concrete (LWAC). Five different natural aggregates and one artificial lightweight aggregate material were used throughout the research. Mixture proportions were kept as constant values in all concrete mixtures. All mixtures were cast into cubic, prismatic and cylindrical concrete standard moulds and they were cured at the same curing conditions. A series of physical and mechanical properties, such as density, compressive strength and elasticity modulus for LWAC were experimentally determined. According to the research findings a few empirical models were statistically developed for estimating the elasticity modulus and Poisson's ratio of LWAC and a new diagram practically to be used for estimating the Poisson's ratio of LWAC was also proposed.

We first introduce an alternative way to study the insensitive nuclei enhanced by polarization and distortionless enhancement by polarization transfer NMR experiments with the product operator descriptions for weakly coupled I (I=1/2, S=1/2) spin systems as a quantum controlled not gate and a not gate, respectively. In this framework we apply the density matrix operators obtained from the analytical descriptions of the mentioned pulse sequences by using product operator formalism step by step on the NMR spin product states represented in Dirac's notation.

Opis:
Artificial neural network is generally information processing system and a computer program that imitates human brain neural network system. By entering the information from outside, artificial neural network can be trained on examples related to a problem, so that modeling of the problem is provided. In this study, compressive strength, Poisson ratio of the lightweight concrete specimens, which have different natural lightweight aggregates, were modeled with artificial neural network. The data which were provided by artificial neural network model were compared with the data obtained from experimental study and a good agreement was determined between the results.

We theoretically study the polarization-induced band inversion phenomenon in c-plane In-rich InGaN/GaN quantum wells. Our calculations performed using the k·p method with the 8×8 Rashba-Sheka-Pikus Hamiltonian for the structures with the indium content between 90% and 100% show that the reordering of the conduction and valence bands occurs for the quantum well widths below the theoretical values of critical thickness for InGaN layers pseudomorphically grown on GaN substrates.

Opis:
A model is developed by extending the generalised form of exponential potential known as extended generalised exponential potential to account for: (a) a realistic realization of interactions in all separations in general and that of small separations in particular, (b) three-body and electronic effects into the interaction in an alternative and simpler form, (c) a model free from usual fitting procedure. The model is employed to compute the cohesive energy, phonon spectra and second- and third-order elastic constants for group VA bcc metals V and Nb. The computed results showing good agreement with the experimental findings lend reliability and credibility to the potential.

Opis:
Distortionless enhancement by polarization transfer including the detection of quaternary nuclei is a carbon-editing pulse NMR experiment. In this experiment multiplicity information for all carbons including quaternary carbons are obtained. In the present study, analytical descriptions of DEPTQ NMR experiment have been investigated for weakly coupled $IS_{n}$ (I = 1/2; S = 1; n = 0, 1, 2, 3) spin systems by using the product operator theory. Then, the theoretical discussion and the experimental suggestions for sub-spectral editing of C, CD, $CD_2$ and $CD_3$ groups have been presented. The comparison of the obtained results with those of the basic distortionless enhancement by polarization transfer NMR experiment has been also performed for $CD_{n}$ groups. It is shown that DEPTQ experiment can be also used for $CD_{n}$ groups.
