The purpose of this article is to examine the volatility and risk of structured products in the form of structured certificates based on WIG20 and to determine the cost-effectiveness of investments in structured certificates in the context of a direct investment in an index WIG20. As the purpose of the article was adopted also the answer to the question, what is more profitable investment in structured certificate of indicator based on WIG20 or invest directly in an index WIG20? Which investment is associated with a higher risk? And which of the more profitable?

This article discusses the translation of Chinese notarial certificates from the perspective of sworn translation. Given the challenges of legal translation in general and sworn translation in particular, the issue in question calls for clearly established translation criteria. The author decided to adopt the recommendations included in The Sworn Translator’s Code, issued by The Polish Society of Sworn and Specialized Translators, and Adequacy Conditions proposed by Roberto Mayoral (2000, 9-11). The analysis of Chinese notarial certificates focuses on the formal requirements of sworn translation, stylistic adequacy and the transliteration rules for Chinese personal names and addresses.
Tematem pracy jest tłumaczenie chińskich aktów i poświadczeń notarialnych z perspektywy tłumaczenia przysięgłego. Dla uściślenia kryteriów tłumaczenia, autorka zdecydowała się obrać jako punkt odniesienia zalecenia zawarte w Kodeksie Tłumacza Przysięgłego, wydanym przez Polskie Towarzystwo Tłumaczy Przysięgłych i Specjalistycznych, oraz warunki adekwatności zaproponowane przez Roberto Mayorala (2000, 9-11). Analiza chińskich aktów i poświadczeń notarialnych skupia się zasadniczo na formalnych wymogach tłumaczenia przysięgłego, odpowiedniości stylistycznej oraz zasadach transliteracji chińskich nazwisk i adresów.

The central part of the triptych is a sheet of parchment filled with German and Latin quotations from the Bible and self written autobiographic rhymes, made in 1584 by Thomas Schweicker (1540–1602), a calligrapher from Schwäbisch Hall. He achieved great fame because, as born without arms, he possessed perfect skills in artistic writing with his toes, which fact became the source of his income. The portrait of the calligrapher at work, painted according to Theodor de Bry’s copperplate, was placed in the triptych’s left wing. Its right part is dedicated to an ordering person and a donator of this art piece, a citizen of Wrocław, Hans Reichel (1537–1605), who gave it to St. Mary Magdalene library in his home town. Two extended certificates, confirmed with seals and issued by the citizens of Schwäbisch Hall: Wilhelm Thomas Sanwaldt and a city writer Johann Bock, guarantee the authenticity of the parchment with Schweicker’s calligraphy.

W celu uzyskania rzetelnych wyników pomiarów, wyposażenie pomiarowe każdej firmy, a przede wszystkim organizacji, w której został wdrożony system zarządzania jakością powinno być wzorcowane w kompetentnym laboratorium. Wyłącznie świadectwo wzorcowania, wystawione przez akredytowane laboratorium wzorcujące jest podstawą zapewnienia spójności pomiarowej wyposażenia. Wyniki wzorcowania przedstawione w tym dokumencie umożliwiają użytkownikowi zakwalifikowanie właściwego przyrządu pomiarowego do wykonywanych pomiarów. Z tego względu istotna jest prawidłowa interpretacja wyników wzorcowania (wraz z niepewnością pomiaru) zawartych w świadectwie wzorcowania oraz znajomość kryteriów oceny zgodności ze specyfikacją. Równocześnie, w celu zapewnienia właściwego nadzoru metrologicznego nad wyposażeniem, użytkownik powinien określić okresy czasu między wzorcowniami, biorąc pod uwagę wyniki wzorcowania zamieszczone w świadectwie wzorcowania.
In order to obtain reliable measuring results, the measuring equipment of each organization, particularly that where a quality management system was implemented, should be calibrated in a competent laboratory. Only a certificate issued by an accredited calibration laboratory is the basis to ensure measuring coherence of the equipment. The calibration results presented in this document enable the user to qualify a proper measuring device to the undertaken measurements. That is why it is important to properly interpret calibration results (including measurement uncertainty) included in a calibration certificate and to be familiar with the assessment criteria related to the compliance with the specification. At the same time, to ensure proper metrological supervision over the equipment, the user should determine time gaps between particular calibrations taking into account the calibration results included in the calibration certificate.

Poprawa efektywności energetycznej uważana jest za najbardziej ekonomiczny sposób zmniejszenia zużycia energii w gospodarce. W artykule poddano ocenie jeden z instrumentów polityki energetycznej „białe certyfikaty”, uznane jako innowacyjny instrument polityki na rzecz poprawy efektywności energetycznej. Ocenę tego instrumentu poddano w oparciu o wyniki przeprowadzonego przetargu na certyfikaty efektywności energetycznej.
Improving energy efficiency is considered to be the most economical way to reduce energy consumption in the economy. In this paper I analyze of one energy policy instrument, namely a White Certificates (WhC) scheme as an innovative policy instrument for energy efficiency improvement. The evaluation of this instrument were based on the results of the tender for energy efficiency certificates.

The process of Europeanisation in the legal field results in various conflicts between the Member States and European authorities. Cases concerning State aid are an example of such a conflict, where on one hand Member States want to preserve control over various supporting schemes and on the other the European Commission and the Court of Justice of the European Union through a set of judgements and decisions increase their supervisory power over the supporting schemes. The European jurisprudence tend to stretch the scope of State aid by expanding the definition of State resources, which is one of its prerequisites. Applying of such a broad definition of State resources to Polish green certificates scheme and the auction scheme shows negative results of this approach that not only decreases the efficiency of the Renewable Energy Sources supporting schemes but that has a negative reflection on the whole State aid system.

Celem niniejszego artykułu jest zaprezentowanie nowych zasad dotyczących wsparcia produkcji energii elektrycznej wytwarzanej w skojarzeniu z ciepłem, obowiązujących w Polsce od 1 lipca 2007 roku, jak też wskazanie potencjalnych kierunków dalszych zmian służących optymalizacji udzielonego wsparcia.
In the future, the development of electricity produced in Poland in cogeneration with heat will impact the reduction of greenhouse gases emissions. To accelerate this process, it is necessary to implement a requirement to ensure a share of red energy in the total energy volume sold to the final recipients. An opportunity to obtain red energy certificates and in consequence acquire additional income, is an economic incentive for potential investors. It should definitively be determined if energy producers have the right to obtain both the green and red energy certificates for the same energy volume. It should also be taken into account that growing support of green and red energy production may result in higher electricity prices to the final recipients. It is essential to provide investors with red energy production profitability because a higher return rate will be the key incentive to maintain UE regulations on the red energy share in the total volume of electricity.

This paper presents the macrostructure of Chinese, English and Polish school certificates and university diplomas (Hughes, Varó 2002) in the aspect of translation. The language and vocabulary used in Chinese, Polish and English certificates and diplomas are researched into. The conclusions are that the historically conditioned differences in legal realities in China, Taiwan, Poland (the impact of the partitions and the Communist regime) and the English-speaking countries affect the structure and contents of such certificates and diplomas. Thus, Polish certificates and diplomas are more similar to British and American ones. However, certificates and diplomas executed in China have different macrostructure (they are in a form of a book). As a consequence, some legal terms and expressions which appear in them do not occur in Polish and English.

Opis:
A certificate proving the holder’s proficiency in a foreign language for specific purposes (LSP) should guarantee that the person submitting such a document is able to perform specific professional tasks using the particular foreign language. Therefore, an examination measuring such competencies should meet certain requirements and have certain characteristics. What are the differences between testing languages for general and for specific purposes? Are these differences visible in existing certificate examinations? Do the language certificates issued on the basis of LSP examinations give employers a guarantee that the employee can handle professional tasks which demand the use of the foreign language in question? In an attempt to answer these queries, the article will outline the theoretical principles behind testing languages for specific purposes and try to compare the theory and practice through an analysis of several LSP exams available on the market. Reflecting on the observations, it will also try to determine why the reality is often so distant from the theoretical foundations.
