    The effect of hexachlorethane, 1, 4, 2, 3-chlormethylbenzene and hexachlorophene, given in therapeutic doses, on the vitamin B₂, B₁₂ and PP levels in the caecum content and liver of rats as well as on the serum vitamin B₁₂ level was studied. Histological and histochemical changes in internal organs of rats receiving the same compounds were also examined. Hexachlorethane produced significant changes in the level of vitamins B₂ and B₁₂. These changes were observed chiefly in the first stage of experiment. The remaining compounds, i. e., 1, 4, 2, 3-chloromethylbenzene and hexachlorophene inhibited slightly the synthesis of vitamins B₂ and B₁₂ in the caecum during the first 12 or 24 hours after application but, in general, they had no practical effect on the level of vitamins B₂, B₁₂ and PP in rats.

    Opis:
    Artykuł stanowi drugą część cyklu na temat wykorzystania tekstu publicystycznego w kształceniu kompetencji komunikacyjnej na poziomie C2 w zakresie odbioru komunikatów publicznych. W pierwszej części artykułu zaprezentowano teorię komunikowania publicznego, druga część zawiera praktyczne propozycje metodyczne: tekst i ćwiczenia wraz z rozwiązaniami. Podczas interpretowania tekstów medialnych zastosowano metodę analizy dyskursu. Zwrócono więc szczególną uwagę na sytuację, konteksty działań komunikacyjnych oraz normy, reguły i strategie stosowane przez uczestników komunikowania. Przyjęto założenie, że elementy systemu komunikowania publicznego znajdują odzwierciedlenie w makrostrukturze tekstów z tej sfery. Ustalono, że zastosowanie podczas analizy kategorii takich jak: role uczestników systemu, kontrola zawartości komunikatów przekazywanych w systemie, źródła i drogi dopływu informacji do systemu, charakter kontaktów i rodzaj styczności między członkami systemu, zadania, jakie mają do wykonania, reguły, wzory i normy rządzące ich zachowaniem – pozwala na adekwatną interpretację tekstów publicznych, a tym samym umożliwia ich trafny odbiór.
    The article is the second part of a cycle on the use of journalistic text in developing communication competence in receiving public messages at C2 level. The first part of the article presents the theory of public communication, the second part contains practical methodological proposals: text and exercises with answer keys. When interpreting media texts, the method of discourse analysis was used. Therefore, particular attention was paid to the situation, contexts of communication activities as well as norms, rules and strategies used by the participants. It was assumed that the elements of the public communication system are reflected in the macrostructure of texts from this sphere. It was established that an adequate interpretation of public texts and their accurate reception relies on the use of the following categories during the analysis: roles of system participants, control of the content of messages transmitted in the system, sources and paths of information inflow to the system, the nature of contacts and the type of contact between system members, tasks to be performed, rules, patterns and standards governing the participants’ behavior.

    Celem artykułu jest omówienie cech wybranego typu materiału dydaktycznego, jakim jest medialny mówiony dialogowy tekst publicystyczny (w skrócie: MMDTP). Zakładam, że proponowany typ tekstu spełnia takie programowe wymogi na poziomie C2, jak: autentyczność, aktualność, interakcyjność, mediacyjność, dyskursywność, a w sposób szczególny służy rozwijaniu sprawności rozumienia i mówienia. Potencjał wybranego rodzaju tekstów jest planowany jako temat cyklu artykułów. Pierwszy z nich jest poświęcony cechom medialnego dyskursu publicznego i politycznego. Niniejszy artykuł składa się z trzech części: w pierwszej omówiono sposób przygotowania materiału dydaktycznego, korzyści i problemy związane z jego wykorzystaniem; w drugiej przybliżono wybrane cechy dyskursu publicznego i politycznego, które pozwalają trafniej zinterpretować sens interakcji; w trzeciej zamieszczono zapis trwającego 10 minut publicystycznego tekstu dialogowego, pobranego jako podcast ze strony Radia TOK Fm wraz z ćwiczeniami. 
    The main purpose of this article is to discuss the features of a selected type of didactic material, which is a spoken dialogic journalistic text from the media (in short: SDJTM). I assume that the proposed text type fulfils such curricular requirements at the C2 level as authenticity, topicality, interactivity, mediality, and discursivity, and in a special way serves the development of comprehension and speaking skills. The potential of the selected type of text is planned as the topic of a series of articles. The first one is devoted to the features of public and political discourse in the media. This article is divided into three parts: the first discusses how to prepare the didactic material, the benefits and problems associated with its use; the second introduces selected features of public and political discourse that allow more accurate interpretation of the meaning of interaction; the third contains a transcript of a 10-minute long journalistic dialogic text downloaded as a podcast from TOK FM Radio with exercises.

    Opis:
    Purpose: Anterior cervical discectomy and fusion is a common surgical procedure performed to remove a degenerative or herniated disc in cervical spine. Unfortunately, clinical complications of anterior cervical plate (ACP) systems still occur, such as weak fixation stability and implant loosening. Previous researchers have attempted to ameliorate these complications by varying screw orientations, but the screw orientations are mainly determined according to the investigator’s experiences. Thus, the aim of this study was to discover the optimal screw orientations of ACP systems to achieve acceptable fixation stability using finite element simulations and engineering algorithms. Methods: Three-dimensional finite element models of C3-T2 multi-level segments with an ACP system were first developed to analyze the fixation stability using ANSYS Workbench 14.5. Then, artificial neural networks were applied to create one objective function, and the optimal screw orientations of an ACP system were discovered by genetic algorithms. Finally, the numerical models and the optimization study were validated using biomechanical tests. Results: The results showed that the optimal design of the ACP system had highest fixation stability compared with other ACP designs. The neuro-genetic algorithm has effectively reduced the time and effort required for discovering for the optimal screw orientations of an ACP system. Conclusions: The optimum screw orientation of the ACP system could be successfully discovered, and it revealed excellent fixation stability for the treatment of cervical degenerative disc disease. This study could directly provide the biomechanical rationale and surgical suggestion to orthopedic surgeons.

    Wskaźniki biegłości językowej (A1–C2) zawarte w Europejskim systemie opisu kształcenia językowego (wyd. w j. angielskim i francuskim: 2001, w j. polskim: 2003) to zasadnicza wartość i główna oś dokumentu Rady Europy. Zostały one bardzo szybko zaakceptowane przez odbiorców i zastosowane w dydaktyce językowej. Nierzadko jednak opis umiejętności na poszczególnych poziomach był przedmiotem niedomówień i błędnych interpretacji. Dotyczy to m.in. poziomu C2, który niejednokrotnie utożsamiany jest z kompetencjami wykształconego native speakera. Celem artykułu jest kompleksowa i zaktualizowana charakterystyka najwyższego poziomu biegłości językowej, opisanego w ESOKJ (2001; 2003), a doprecyzowanego i rozszerzonego w CEFR – Companion Volume (2020). Eksperci Rady Europy, zachowując filozofię i strukturę ESOKJ, zmodyfikowali i uzupełnili zawarte w nim skale deskryptorów oraz dostosowali je do współczesnego kontekstu posługiwania się językiem. Opis poziomu C2 w dokumencie z 2020 roku został znacznie rozszerzony w porównaniu z jego pierwotną wersją, zawiera bowiem charakterystykę nowych umiejętności i kompetencji użytkownika języka. Zaprezentowane w artykule wyniki ilościowych i jakościowych analiz deskryptorów dla najwyższego poziomu biegłości w skali Rady Europy mogą być pomocne w tworzeniu materiałów dydaktycznych oraz testów egzaminacyjnych.
    Language proficiency indicators (A1–C2) contained in The Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (published in English and French in 2001, in Polish in 2003) are the main value and the main axis of the Council of Europe document. They were soon accepted by the recipients and applied in language-teaching methodology. Often, however, the description of skills at individual levels have been the subject of understatements and misinterpretations. This is also the case with level C2, which is often identified with the competences of an educated native speaker of a language. Iwona Janowska’s aim in this article is to give a comprehensive and updated characterization of the highest level of language proficiency, described in the CEFR (2001; 2003), and clarified and extended in the CEFR – Companion Volume (2020). Experts of the Council of Europe, while maintaining the philosophy and structure of the CEFR, modified and supplemented the descriptor scales contained in it and adapted them to the contemporary context of language use. The description of level C2 in the 2020 document has been significantly expanded in comparinson to its original version, as it contains the characteristics of new skills and competences of the language user. The results of quantitative and qualitative analyses of descriptors for the highest level of proficiency on the scale of the Council of Europe presented in the article may be helpful in creating didactic materials and exam tests.

    In this paper we compare the following MERIS processors against sea-truthing data: the standard MERIS processor (MEGS 7.4.1), the Case 2 Regional processor (C2R) of the German Institute for Coastal Research (GKSS), and the Case 2Water Properties processor developed at the Freie Universit¨at Berlin (FUB). Furthermore, the Improved Contrast between Ocean and Land processor (ICOL), a prototype processor for the correction of adjacency effects from land, was tested on all three processors, and the retrieval of level 2 data was evaluated against sea-truthing data before and after ICOL processing. The results show that by using ICOL the retrieval of spectral reflectance in the open sea was improved for all processors. After ICOL processing, the FUB showed rather small errors in the blue, but underestimated in the red −34% Mean Normalised Bias (MNB) and 37% Root Mean Square (RMS). For MEGS the reflectance in the red was underestimated by about −20% MNB and 23% RMS, whereas the reflectance in the other channels was well predicted, even without any ICOL processing. The C2R underestimated the red with about −27% MNB and 29% RMS and at 412 nm it overestimated the reflectance with about 23% MNB and 29% RMS. At the outer open sea stations ICOL processing did not have a strong effect: the effect of the processor diminishes progressively up to 30 km from land. At the open sea stations the ICOL processor improved chlorophyll retrieval using MEGS from −74% to about 34% MNB, and TSM retrieval from −63% to about 22% MNB. Using FUB in combination with ICOL gave even better results for both chlorophyll (25% MNB and 45% RMS) and TSM (−4% MNB and 36% RMS) in the open Baltic Sea. All three processors predicted TSM rather well, but the standard processor gave the best results (−12% MNB and 17% RMS). The C2R had a very low MNB for TSM (1%), but a rather high RMS (54%). The FUB was intermediate with −16% MNB and 31% RMS. In coastal waters, the spectral diffuse attenuation coefficient Kd(490) was well predicted using FUB or MEGS in combination with ICOL (MNB about 12% for FUB and 0.4% for MEGS). Chlorophyll was rather well predicted in the open Baltic Sea using FUB with ICOL (MNB 25%) and even without ICOL processing (MNB about 15%). ICOL-processed MEGS data also gave rather good retrieval of chlorophyll in the coastal areas (MNB of 19% and RMS of 28%). In the open Baltic Sea chlorophyll retrieval gave a MNB of 34% and RMS of 70%, which may be due to the considerable patchiness caused by cyanobacterial blooms. The results presented here indicate that with the MERIS mission, ESA and co- workers are in the process of solving some of the main issues regarding the remote sensing of coastal waters: spatial resolution; land-water adjacency effects; improved level 2 product retrieval in the Baltic Sea, i.e. the retrieval of spectral reflectance and of the water quality products TSM and chlorophyll.

    The DNA content after Feulgen reaction in the guard cells and epidermis of Omithogalum umbellatum ovary was cytophotometrically measured in different phases of flower development. Only in bud of flowers guard cells DNA content was 2C while in full blown flowers it was higher, between 2C-4C. This observation was supported by autoradiographic studies with 3H-thymidine which was incorporated into guard cell nuclei in the ovary epidermis of newly developed flowers. Thus DNA level in O. umbellatum guard cells was higher than those in other plants described in literature. On the other hand, DNA content in the epidermis cells increased gradually with ovary growth reaching the maximum level of 8C in some cells.

    Opis:
    The amendment to the Polish Language Act in 2015 has resulted in significant changes in the system of the state certificate examinations in Polish as a foreign language. One of the changes is a revised format of the certificate examination at C2 level. The author begins by briefly presenting the recent revisions to the test. The Polish examination is then compared with its English equivalent: C2 Proficiency, a renowned British test which has undergone numerous changes since its first ad-ministration in 1913. The comparative analysis is focused on the struc-ture of both examinations and their parts, task types that are used and skills that are tested. Through showing similarities and differences between the analyzed language proficiency tests the author reflects on practical implications of various choices made by experts who are responsible for test design and development.

    Opis:
    Artykuł odnosi się do pojęcia e-biznes, omówione są w nim zagadnienia: e-commers, B2B oraz B2C. Głównym celem jego napisania było przedstawienie istotności prowadzenia działalności gospodarczej w Internecie, która została zbadana na podstawie analizy wyników badania ankietowego przeprowadzonego wśród studentów Państwowej Wyższej Szkole Zawodowej w Tarnowie. Badania ankietowe dostarczyły informacji na temat wiedzy studentów o biznesie internetowym. Wyniki badania ankietowego posłużyły do przygotowania konferencji pod nazwą „E-Biznes Camp”, utwierdzając organizatorów w słuszności przygotowania takiego przedsięwzięcia. Badanie umożliwiło również wytyczenie obszarów, w zakresie których studenci chcieliby poszerzyć swoją wiedzę.
    The article refers to the commonly used concept of e-business. Describes the following terms: e-commers, B2B and B2C. The main purpose of writing was to show the relevance of business enterprise on the web. To confirm this we used the results of a survey conducted among the students of PWSZ in Tarnów. The survey provided information about the student's knowledge of internet business. The results of the survey confirmed the validity of the preparation and organization of a conference under the title of "eBusiness Camp" and also we encountered topics on which students would like to expand their knowledge.
    Статья относится к повсеместно используемому понятию э- бизнес, обсуждены в ней вопросы: э- коммерция, В2В, а также В2С. Главной целью ее написания было представление насущности управления хозяйственной деятельностью в Интернете, которая была исследована на основании анализа результатов опросного исследования проведённого среди студентов Государственной высшей профессиональной школы в Тарнове. Опросные исследования представили информацию касающуюся знаний студентов об интернет-бизнесе. Результаты опросного исследования послужили основанием для подготовки конференции под названием „Э-Бизнес Камп”, утверждая организаторов в сущности подготовки такого мероприятия. Исследования позволили также выделить области исследуемой проблематики, в которых студенты хотели бы расширять свои знания.

    Opis:
    The continuous brown coal mining technology has been highly advancing by mechanical design within the last decades. The driving factor has been the demand for increasing productivity and total availability. Indurad - the industrial radar company - addresses both of these factors with its solutions in increasing the utilization of mining machinery. Indurads technological solutions are helping to optimize the brown coal flow chain from across the. Starting at the excavators working bench (cutting depth control) via the belt transfer units (positioning), on the conveyor belt (volumetric flow) and finally to the stockpile volume scan (stockpile inventory control). The key for its solutions is a highly robust unique two-dimensional radar technology which has been specially developed for the rough mining environment. Within the paper successful applications are shown for the German brown coal mining as well as other solutions realized with indurad's technology in the global mining industry.
    Wydobycie węgla brunatnego metodą ciągłą przy użyciu kombajnów rozwijało się dynamicznie w ostatnich dekadach dzięki nowym rozwiązaniom mechanicznym. Czynnikiem przyspieszającym rozwój była potrzeba większej wydajności oraz całkowitej dostępności. Indurad - firma specjalizująca się w radarach do celów przemysłowych - znalazła rozwiązania odpowiadające obydwu tym potrzebom, polegające na zwiększonym wykorzystaniu maszyn górniczych. Rozwiązania technologiczne firmy Indurad pomagają zoptymalizować poszczególne etapy procesu wydobycia węgla brunatnego; poczynając od warstwy urabiania pokładu (kontrola głębokości skrawu), poprzez miejsce przesypu przenośnika (pozycjonowanie), na przenośniku taśmowym (strumień objętościowy), aż po skanowanie objętości składowiska (kontrola zapasu na składowisku). Kluczowym elementem tych rozwiązań jest unikalna, wysoce wydajna technologia radaru dwuwspółrzędnego, która została rozwinięta specjalnie na potrzeby trudnych warunków występujących w górnictwie. Niniejsza praca przedstawia skuteczne zastosowania w niemieckim górnictwie węgla brunatnego, a także inne rozwiązania przeprowadzone przy pomocy technologii firmy Indurad w światowym przemyśle górniczym.
