Goal – the purpose of this article is to generalize theoretical approaches to determining the specifics of women’s entrepreneurship, to form a portrait of a modern woman in business, to identify barriers to the development of women’s entrepreneurship and ways of its development. Research methodology – in the main part, the analysis of economic sectors, which modern women prefer when choosing a field of activity, is carried out. A comparative analysis was carried out and the distinctive features of enterprises run by men and women were identified. Score/results – the positive experience of conducting women’s business in Poland, which can be successfully used to improve and develop women’s entrepreneurship in Belarus, is revealed. Options for improving the current situation, aimed at the development of women’s entrepreneurship, are proposed. Originality/value – the article deals with the formation and development of women’s business as a basis for the activation of small and medium‑sized businesses in the Republic of Belarus. The features of the activities of enterprises run by women are revealed, and the strengths and weaknesses in their work are highlighted.

Walki na terytorium przeciwnika, prowadzone w nieznanym dotąd terenie, wymagają zazwyczaj wcześniejszego przygotowania własnych żołnierzy do nowych warunków. W marcu 1945 r. jednostki Armii Czerwonej, w tym 44 gwardyjska Dywizja Strzelecka z 65 Armii, szykowały się do szturmu Gdańska. Jedną z form przygotowania wojsk do opanowania silnie zurbanizowanego kompleksu, składającego się z miasta, stoczni i portu, była działalność informacyjno-szkoleniowa. Upowszechniano głównie wiedzę o sposobach obrony nieprzyjaciela w dużych miastach, jak również o własnej taktyce ich zdobywania. Przedstawiano zasady walki ulicznej przy pomocy grup szturmowych i oddziałów desantowych. Przybliżano specyfikę używanej w takich okolicznościach broni i konieczność współdziałania żołnierzy o różnych specjalnościach. Informowano i szkolono szeregi czerwonoarmistów w czasie spotkań i ćwiczeń, prowadzonych i koordynowanych przez oficerów pionu polityczno-wychowawczego, jak też przy pomocy gazet i szeroko kolportowanych ulotek, które omawiały nadchodzące walki. W niniejszym artykule działalność ta została przedstawiona przede wszystkim na podstawie druków przygotowanych i dystrybuowanych na poziomie armijnym oraz dywizyjnym.
Fighting in enemy territory, conducted in a previously unknown area, usually requires prior preparation of own soldiers for new conditions. In March 1945, units of the Red Army, including the 44th Guards Rifle Division from the 65th Army, were getting ready for the assault on Gdańsk. One of the forms of preparation of troops to take over a highly urbanized complex, consisting of a city, a shipyard and a port, was information and training activities. Knowledge was mainly disseminated about how enemy is defend in large cities, as well as about one’s own tactics for win. The rules of street fighting were presented with the help of assault groups and landing units. The specifics of the weapons used in such circumstances and the necessity of cooperation between soldiers of different specialties were discussed. The ranks of the Red Army soldiers were informed and trained during meetings and exercises conducted and coordinated by political officers, as well as with the help of newspapers and widely distributed leaflets, which then discussed the upcoming fights in greater detail. In the article below, this activity is presented mainly on the basis of the prints preserved in the archives, then prepared and distributed at the military and division level.

The Zurich and Schaffhausen Universities of Teacher Education have ideal conditions for integrating computer-mediated activities into English language and methodology courses. This article describes a number of face-to-face and online computer-based activities and argues that learners who live in close proximity can nevertheless benefit from participating in online activities. Examples from each setting that promote in-class or online communication as well as help to provide opportunities for improving learners’ language and content competence will be described. This article attempts to provide arguments for students to participate in - and thus instructors to host – learning opportunities in computer-mediated settings.

W artykule przedstawiono zadania zrealizowane w roku 2008 w zakresie upowszechniania wiedzy pożarniczej. The author presents all kinds CNBOP activity as for example : conferences, courses, trainings and workshops which were organized in the year 2008. The article describes as well publications and didactic activity of CNBOP workers.

The text presents partial results of research on theory and practice integration in future teachers’ undergraduate training. The aim was to find out respond- ents’ opinions on the level of theoretical and practical training integration in the processes of developing specific professional competences during study. Research tools consisted of a self-designed questionnaire and interviews (only partial questionnaire outputs are included because of limited content of study). The research sample was composed of 171 students of a master’s degree in teaching at three MBU1 teacher training faculties. The obtained data were processes by tools of descriptive and multi-dimensional statistics. Results indicate great discontent of the respondents with the low level of connection between theoretical and practical training in the processes of developing special professional competences during study and provide starting points for necessary system changes in the theoretical and professional practical training of future teachers.

The article presents a typology of activities in adventure education in Poland based on two books written as a result of the conference “Adventure education in nature” (2013, 2014). Based on the criteria created by comparing adventure education activities to outdoor training, three different types of these activities are differentiated and their methodology is discussed: long-term life changing activities based on the precise model of a person (3 types of scouting – Baden Powell’s, Selton and Polish scouts (harcerstwo); Hahn’s and Rydzyna schools approaches; survival), short– term educational activities, and recreation in goal adventure in nature activities. The differences concerning the role of the instructor, the types of methods used and the possible scopes of evaluation are discussed for each type of activity. A comparison of the groups of activities and outdoor training discussed is presented in the form of a table.

The author of the article has taken up the issue of conditions for the professional development of kindergarten teachers, with particular emphasis on the role of the director in this area. The aim of the professional development controlled by the director of the kindergarten is primarily to improve the work of the teacher, and indirectly to improve the work of the kindergarten. Therefore, it is important for the Director to create appropriate conditions conducive to the achievement of these objectives. These are common goals and can only be achieved jointly. Skilful management of teacher training by the director of the educational institution is a prerequisite for modern pedagogical supervision.
Autorka artykułu podjęła problematykę uwarunkowań doskonalenia zawodowego nauczycieli przedszkola, ze szczególnym uwzględnieniem roli dyrektora. Celem doskonalenia zawodowego sterowanego przez dyrektora przedszkola jest przede wszystkim usprawnianie pracy nauczyciela, a pośrednio doskonalenie pracy przedszkola. Dlatego ważne jest, aby dyrektor stwarzał odpowiednie warunki do realizacji tych celów, są to bowiem cele wspólne i tylko wspólnie mogą być realizowane. Umiejętne kierowanie doskonaleniem nauczycieli przez dyrektora placówki oświatowej to warunek niezbędny nowoczesnego sprawowania nadzoru pedagogicznego.

Edukacja dla bezpieczeństwa w klasie VIII szkoły podstawowej w zakresie udzielania pierwszej pomocy jest tematem nowatorskim i ważnym dla naszego społeczeństwa. W wieku dorastania uczeń zdobywa wiedzę, rozwija swoje umiejętności i uczy się współpracować zespołowo. Podczas prowadzenia zajęć edukacyjnych w zakresie udzielania pierwszej pomocy należy pamiętać o dostosowaniu poziomu nauczania z tego zakresu do potrzeb i możliwości uczniów. Celem przeprowadzonych zajęć praktycznych zawsze powinno być utrwalenie schematów postępowania z pierwszej pomocy. Przedmiotem obserwacji uczestniczącej były zastosowane ćwiczenia praktyczne dla uczniów z klasy VIII szkoły podstawowej. Wyniki przeprowadzonych zajęć pokazały zaangażowanie, rozwijanie umiejętności i skuteczności uczniów w zakresie udzielania pierwszej pomocy.
Safety education in the 8th grade of primary school in the field of first aid is an innovative and important subject for our society. Adolescent pupils acquire knowledge, develop skills and learn to collaborate in a team. While conducting educational classes in the field of first aid it is important to remember to adjust the level of teaching to the needs and abilities of the students. The aim of practical classes should always be to consolidate the protocols of first aid treatment. The subject of participant observation were practical exercises for pupils from the 8th grade of primary school. The results of the classes showed the pupils’ involvement and skill development as well as effectiveness in the field of first aid.

Niniejszy artykuł poświęcony jest podsumowaniu wniosków i rekomendacji z badań dotyczących międzynarodowych rozwiązań w zakresie operacjonalizacji kultury dla potrzeb przygotowania i prowadzenia operacji militarnych. Przeprowadzone zostały one przez Autorkę między innymi podczas wizyt studyjnych w międzynarodowych instytucjach wojskowych oraz wśród przedstawicieli państw koalicji w US CENTCOM w roku 2013, celem stworzenia całościowego modelu operacjonalizacji kultury dla potrzeb przygotowania i prowadzenia operacji militarnych przez Polskie Siły Zbrojne. W artykule omówiono rozwiązania w zakresie operacjonalizacji kultury w przygotowaniu i prowadzeniu operacji militarnych w armiach NATO (m.in. Kanada, Niemcy czy Turcja) oraz innych (np. Australia, Korea Południowa czy Nepal). Doświadczenia amerykańskie zostały omówione w osobnym artykule.
The following article aims at summarizing the conclusions and recommendations from a study on the operationalization of culture for pre-deployment and operational training activities. The results are based on a research and interviews conducted by the author in Polish and foreign military institutions in the years 2009-2013 during study visits to, among others, international military institutions, the US Army War College and representatives of multinational coalition forces at US CENTCOM (2012). In this piece of research, the solutions implemented as part of the preparation and conduct of military operations of NATO forces (e.g. in Canada, UK, Germany and Turkey) and other armies (e.g. of Australia, South Korea, Pakistan, Singapore and Nepal) have been analyzed. American experiences have not been discussed here.

The following article presents a comparative analysis of the operation of Polish ports in the Tri-City as well as the characteristics of the most prosperous Chinese ports. The comparison of such unreasonably different size ports aims at directing Polish ports to development opportunities in order to achieve trans-shipment and development growth. The change in how cargo management in an area remote from the port affects the work of the city and the port itself may suggest changes in the management of the current situation.

W 1984 r. wykładowcy z Zakładu Teorii Pracy Operacyjnej Departamentu Szkolenia i Doskonalenia Zawodowego Ministerstwa Spraw Wewnętrznych opublikowali cztery opracowania dotyczące szkolenia, wychowania, organizacji pracy i kontroli tajnych współpracowników. W publikacjach tych, przeznaczonych dla funkcjonariuszy Służby Bezpieczeństwa, wychowanie zostało zdefiniowane jako „świadoma, celowa i systematyczna działalność pracownika operacyjnego, która kształtuje (zaszczepia) oraz utrwala określone pozytywne postawy i cechy osobnicze [TW] niezbędne – w danej sytuacji polityczno-operacyjnej – do skutecznej współpracy z SB”. W prezentowanym tekście omawiam założenia tej koncepcji.
In 1984, lecturers at Zakład Teorii Pracy Operacyjnej Departamentu Szkolenia I Doskonalenia Zawodowego [the Department of Operational Work Theory of the Department of Training and Professional Development] of Ministerstwo Spraw Wewnętrznych [the Ministry of Internal Affairs] of the Polish People's Republic published four studies concerning the training, education, work organization and control of secret collaborators, the so-called TW. According to these publications, dedicated to Security Service officers, education was “the conscious, purposeful and systematic activity of an operational employee, which shapes (instills) and consolidates certain positive attitudes and personal characteristics of secret collaborators necessary – in a given political and operational situation – for effective partnership with the Security Service.” In the presented text the assumptions of this concept are analysed.

Opis:
Rozwój kapitału ludzkiego jest jednym z podstawowych wyzwań, przed jakimi staje polska gospodarka i polskie społeczeństwo, zwłaszcza w kontekście starzenia się ludności, którego efekty zaczniemy obserwować już w najbliższym dziesięcioleciu. Wyniki dotychczasowych badań i analiz pokazują, że poziom zaangażowania osób dorosłych w podnoszenie swoich kompetencji w naszym kraju jest ciągle zbyt niski zarówno w stosunku do przewidywanych potrzeb rynku pracy, jak i celów strategicznych, jakie sobie stawiamy. Ważną kwestią pozostaje więc odpowiedź na pytanie, jakie czynniki determinują aktywność edukacyjną dorosłych, zwłaszcza tę związaną z rozwijaniem kompetencji potrzebnych na rynku pracy. Zagadnienie to można rozpatrywać z wielu perspektyw, ma ono bowiem charakter interdyscyplinarny. W niniejszym opracowaniu skupiono się na próbie znalezienia odpowiedzi na pytania, w jakich warunkach działający racjonalnie aktorzy − pracodawcy i pracownicy − będą skłonni inwestować w rozwój kompetencji, kiedy mogą być zainteresowani wzrostem wydatków na szkolenia i jak różne uwarunkowania instytucjonalne mogą oddziaływać na strategie szkoleniowe pracodawców i pracowników.
Human capital development constitutes the principal challenge facing the Polish society and economy, mainly in the context of population ageing which will be observed in the present decade. The outcomes of recent research and analyses have shown that the level of adult involvement in increasing professional skills in Poland is still too low in relation to the expected needs of the labour market and to the strategic objectives. It is therefore necessary to define the factors determining educational activities of adults, in particular the ones related to the skills required in the labour market. Due to their interdisciplinary character, the problems may be considered from a number of aspects. In the present article an attempt has been made to focus on the circumstances in which rationally acting actors: employers and employees, are inclined to invest in professional skills development; when they might be interested in spending more in training; and how varied institutional factors may affect training strategies of employers and employees.
