Głównym celem rozważań jest wskazanie synergii człowieka z jego otoczeniem (zob. humanistyka środowiskowa), we wskazanej twórczości, w aspekcie semiotycznym i kulturowym. Pozwala to lepiej zrozumieć postawę autora Doliny Bogów (2019) wobec transformacji XXI wieku. Metodologia: analiza dyskursu teoretycznego i filmoznawczego.
The subject of the text is the analysis of the anthropocene valuation in cultural texts (film), both literally and metaphorically, and its representation on the example of selected films by Lech Majewski (born 1953). The main purpose of the considerations is to show the synergy of man with his environment (see environmental humanities), in the indicated creativity, in the semiotic and cultural aspect. This allows us to better understand the attitude of the author of Valley of the Gods (2019) towards the transformation of the 21st century. Methodology: film studies, cultural anthropology

The main subject of this article are social consequences of the results of the referendum regarding UK departure from the structures of the European Union. The author focuses on the social repercussions in the perception of British citizens and “foreigners” in the face of potential leave the European community, referred to as “Brexit”. The main focus of the author are still current issues of diversity, division “us” versus “foreigners”, stigma and social exclusion. The author based on the analysis of existing materials and a focus group interview presents how the stereotypical perception of reality can affect the development of mutual prejudices.

Biblical canons reflect the theology of communities that are responsible for their final shape. A majority of texts that were written during the biblical and early postbiblical period belong to a few communities and are collected in different canons. The present article considers two of them: the Hebrew Bible and the Catholic Old Testament, from the perspective of the Pentateuch, with the aim of grasping some of the doctrinal differences between early Christianity and Rabbinic Judaism. The canon of the Hebrew Bible is totally oriented towards the Pentateuch and accentuates messianic hope, but is completely closed towards any new text, contrary to the canon of the Old Testament. The Old Testament is open towards New Testament by the rearrangement of basic writings contained in the Hebrew Bible.

The author of the text, written in the form of a review article, traced the most important concepts related to the studies of applied humanities proposed by Lech Witkowski. They concern the main category of versus as life-giving in particular stages of development, its spiral tangles, entangled in crises in the life cycle. Discovering the psychodynamics of development, their structures and conditions is a serious and engaging study for many addressees: educators, psychologists, sociologists, literary scholars, artists and others.

The text is a voice in the polemics with Helena Ostrowicka – the author of Youth gouvernmentalité.

The issue of natural law has been mentioned by almost all philosophers of law, from the classical ones of ancient Greece to contemporary postmodernists, and is presented in various ways. In compliance with Cicero’s observation that “history is the herald of the future” we have attempted to go back to the sources and to start our considerations ab ovo. The historical review does not address systematically the issue discussed here, and only serves to properly explain what natural law in a classical reflection of ius naturale is. Therefore, our approach to the classical natural law has been narrowed down to three selected sophists, Socrates, Plato and Aristotle, and their views of ius naturale in opposition to ius positivum have been briefly outlined. The article consists of two parts: the first one entitled From Heraclitus to Socrates and the second entitled From Plato to Aristotle. The first part presents sophists’ views on the law of nature. It is worth noting that sophists did not analyse the essence of the law of nature; they were primarily interested in the relationship of the law of nature to positive law. Thus Socrates, by deriving the existence of universal and unchanging laws from human nature, gave birth to the doctrine of natural law with unchanging content. The second part contains the views of Plato and Aristotle on the question of the law of nature. Plato is considered to have discovered the ideal trend of natural law, although in his dialogues the term “law of nature” is not found. It was the theory of Plato’s ideas that became the model for the concept of lex aeterna as an arrangement of divine ideas. Whereas, Aristotle distinguished two types of good that law puts before man, and accepts them as the basis for the dichotomous division of laws. He described good that is indifferent to man, which due to specific circumstances becomes the object of his desire, as positive law. Good that is closely related to the nature of man, which is always and everywhere the object of his desire, is good indicating the natural law.

In this auto/biographical essay, I present the mechanism of how a relationship between an editor of a monograph and the authors of texts submitted to it is forged. In this context, I propose a distinction between “hot” and “cold” texts. I assume an editor forms close emotional ties with a “hot” text, whereas the “cold” text is kept at both an emotional and heuristic distance. One of the articles written by Ewa Marynowicz- Hetka and published in the periodical “Educational Sciences. Interdisciplinary Studies” is presented as an instructive example of how a reading of a “hot” text may have consequences for the emergence of a newly shaped “school of thought” (a term coined by Teresa Bauman).
W prezentowanym auto/biograficznym szkicu interesuje mnie mechanizm zawiązywania się relacji między redaktorem pracy zbiorowej (monografii) a autorami nadesłanych tekstów. W tym kontekście wyodrębniam opozycję tekstów „gorących” oraz tekstów „zimnych”, względem których redaktor pozostaje zdystansowany emocjonalnie i poznawczo. Biorąc za przykład tekstu „gorącego” jeden z artykułów Ewy Marynowicz-Hetki, opublikowany w czasopiśmie NOWIS, pokazuję, jakie skutki może wywołać jego lektura dla pojawienia się zalążków „szkoły myślenia” (termin ukuty przez Teresę Bauman).

W tekście metapedagogiczne konteksty transformacyjne w przestrzeniach działań i losów ludzkich omówiono z wykorzystaniem hermeneutyki, refleksji krytycznej, psychoanalizy, antropologii i projektu „humanistyki stosowanej”. Poruszono następujące problemy: 1) przemieszczanie dominanty wśród czynników w procesach i praktykach zawodowych, takich jak: dialog, racjonalność działań, rozumienie tradycji, wolności, zmiany, ideału przestrzeni działania; 2) transwersalność, dwoistość strukturalna i oscylacje wokół dylematów działania i dominant w rozwoju psychospołecznym; 3) pułapki, ograniczenia i luki w tradycyjnych ujęciach relacji między czynnikami w transformacji tożsamościowej człowieka, gubiące nieciągłości i napięcia wewnętrzne; 4) przełom antypozytywistyczny w rozumiejącym wyjaśnianiu procesów oraz troisty „efekt wybuchowy” w transformacjach reprezentacji emocjonalno-poznawczej podmiotów działających, w tym ich autotransformacji i przymierza interakcyjnego w działaniu; 5) inne ujęcia wskazanej konceptualizacji.
This article discusses meta-pedagogical transformation contexts in the areas of human actions and the course of human life from the perspectives of hermeneutics, critical reflection, psychoanalysis, anthropology, and the project of “applied humanities.” The following problems are addressed: 1) Shifts of the dominant among factors participating in professional processes and practices, such as dialogue, the rationality of actions, the understanding of tradition, freedom, changes, and the ideal of the space of actions; 2) Transversality, structural duality, and oscillations around dilemmas of action and dominants in psychosocial development; 3) Traps, limitations, and gaps in traditional approaches to relations between factors in a person’s identity transformation; losing track of discontinuities and internal tensions; 4) The anti-positivist breakthrough in considering the explanations of processes and the trifold “explosion effect” in transformations of agents’ emotive-cognitive representations, including their auto-transformations and interactive alliance in actions; 5) Alternative approaches to the conceptualizations presented in this article.

Artykuł niniejszy stanowi z jednej strony próbę znalezienia związku między tak zwanym skrajnym realizmem filozoficznym Johna Wiklefa a jego przeważnie heterodoksyjnymi, ale czasami również dość konserwatywnymi, poglądami teologicznymi i społecznymi. Z drugiej strony zawiera także próbę umieszczenia polskiego wiersza Andrzeja Gałki Pieśń o Wiklefie w kontekście filozofii Wiklefa, przy zwróceniu uwagi zarówno na jej bardziej abstrakcyjne aspekty, jak również jej praktyczne konsekwencje dotyczące sfery polityki i stosunku do hierarchii kościelnej. W szczególności interesuje autora sposób wykorzystania filozofii Wiklefa dla uzasadnienia postulatu radykalnej reformy Kościoła katolickiego w duchu husyckim i równie radykalnej krytyki instytucji papiestwa w oparciu o analizę legendarnych korzeni tejże instytucji.
Among other things, the present article attempts to find a link between John Wycliffe’s so-called philosophical ultra-realism and his mostly heterodox, but also sometimes rather conservative theological and social opinions. It also attempts to interpret a Polish poem by Andrzej Gałka entitled Pieśń o Wiklefie [The Song of Wycliffe] in the context of Wycliffe’s philosophy, focusing on its more abstract aspects as well as on its practical consequences as regards politics and our attitude to the Church hierarchy. The author is particularly interested in the manner in which Gałka uses Wycliffe’s philosophy as the basis for a demand for a radical reform of the Catholic Church in the spirit of Hussitism and also for an equally radical critique of the papacy, founded on an analysis of its legendary origins.

Elementarne zjawiska tarcia powstają na jednej chwilowej powierzchni rzeczywistego kontaktu, czyli na występach nierówności. W okresie eksploatacji formuje się nowy stan chropowatości powierzchni, będący funkcją drogi i warunków panujących w trakcie zużywania. Do pomiaru parametrów charakteryzujących strukturę geometryczną powierzchni przed i po procesie tarcia wykorzystano profilografometr firmy Taylor Hobson oraz oprogramowania Platinum 5.0. Otrzymana pełna charakterystyka struktury geometrycznej powierzchni (SGP) w układzie 3D i możliwości programowe pozwalają na bardziej szczegółowe wnioskowanie o współpracy elementów pary tribologicznej w skali mikro. W opracowaniu zostaną przedstawione możliwości zastosowania pomiarów chropowatości 3D do oceny zjawisk towarzyszących procesowi tarcia i zużycia.
The elementary friction phenomena occur on the single momentary surface of actual contact, which is on the protrusions of irregularities. During operation, a new surface roughness state forms, being the function of the path and conditions prevailing during wearing. For the measurement of parameters, characterising the geometrical structure of the surface before and after the friction process, a profilographmeter by Taylor Hobson and the Platinum 5.0 software were employed. The obtained full characteristics of the surface geometrical structure (SGS) in the 3D system and the program capabilities enable a more in-depth inference on the mating of tribological pair elements in a micro scale. The paper will present the possibilities of using 3D roughness measurements for the assessment of phenomena accompanying the friction and wear processes.

W artykule przedstawiono poglądy wyższych dowódców radzieckich (adm. Gorszkowa, Kasatonowa i marszałka Sokołowskiego) na kierunki rozwoju, zadania oraz potencjał radzieckiej marynarki wojennej w latach zimnej wojny. Przeprowadzone analizy potwierdzają, że w okresie zimnej wojny w ZSRR o kierunkach rozwoju sił zbrojnych, w tym marynarki wojennej, decydowały przede wszystkim poglądy przywódców politycznych, a nie dowódców wojskowych. W artykule przedstawiono ponadto analizę porównawczą wielkości okrętowej salwy rakietowej i torpedowej państw Układu Warszawskiego i państw NATO, ze szczególnym uwzględnieniem potencjału ZSRR i USA. Ważnym aspektem publikacji jest analiza zmian potencjału ilościowego najważniejszych klas okrętów nawodnych i podwodnych ZSRR w latach 1960–1990. Dane do wykonania analiz potencjałowych pochodzą z roczników Jane's Fighting Ships z lat 1960-1990, które pozwoliły zweryfikować poglądy przedstawiane przez admirałów Gorszkowa i Kasatonowa.
The article presents the views of senior Soviet officers (adm. Gorshkov, Kasatonov, and marshal Sokolowski) on the development, tasks and combat potential of the Soviet Navy during the Cold War. The analysis confirms, that during the Cold War in the USSR, the directions of development of the navy were determined primarily by the views of political leaders, not military commanders. The article presents an analysis of numbers of the ship's missile and torpedo salvo from the Warsaw Pact and NATO countries, with particular emphasis on the potential of the USSR and the USA. An important aspect of the publication is the analysis of the changes in the quantitative combat potential of the Soviet surface and submarines in the years 1960–1990. Data for the performance of potential analyses come from the Jane's Fighting Ships yearbooks from 1960-1990, which allowed to verify the views presented by admirals Gorshkov and Kasatonov.

Opis:
Historical prose of Bulat Okudzhava is an interesting phenomenon. It belongs to the literary trend originating in the 20’s of the 20th century, when a rethinking and reappreciation of the past were postulated to plausibly lay out the genealogy of the present. Initially the authors of that period drew on big social and cultural upheavals and their heroes to explain the complicated relation between the individual and the revolution, and between the revolution and the Intelligentsia. In the Adventures of Dilettantes Okudzhava unambiguously follows those literary trails. He focuses on the momentous changes taking place in the Russian society in the second half of the 19th century and on the moralpsychological atmosphere of that time. One should note that the historicism of Okudzhava is of a very peculiar nature. It consists in considering the conflict between the individual and the authority not just in the historical perspective, but also in the philosophical, moral and deeply human aspects. In the novel Okudzhava proposes that totalitarian rule has not ever changed across the eras and tries to prove that hypothesis. In doing that the author is processing and transforming historical facts. Thus, the classic model of the historical novel is shattered since it is too constraining to accommodate elements of fiction, fantasy, dream, surreal visions. Okudzhava uses all of them to expand upon the spirituality of the characters.

Opis:
Celem artykułu jest pokazanie podstaw zapotrzebowania na obrzędy społeczne i uwrażliwienie na niebezpieczeństwo łączenia ich z inicjacją chrześcijańską zawartą w sakramencie bierzmowania. Odżywające w postmodernistycznym społeczeństwie zapotrzebowanie na rytuały motywuje do refleksji nad inicjacyjnym charakterem sakramentu bierzmowania, który uzewnętrznia się w ceremonii jego udzielania i przyjmowania. Odpowiednie wprowadzanie młodych chrześcijan w rozumienie istoty sakramentu bierzmowania i towarzyszących mu obrzędów może zaspokoić potrzebę uczestnictwa w rytuałach w ogóle. Jednakże, wprowadzenie to nie powinno być rozumiane jako alternatywa dla kulturowych rytów przejścia czy rytuałów inicjacji, ale przede wszystkim ma być doświadczeniem Bożej obecności na wszystkich etapach życia człowieka i zaproszeniem Boga do przyjaźni z Nim poprzez życie w Kościele. Przygotowanie do bierzmowania powinno uświadamiać młodym, że bycie chrześcijaninem wymaga świadomego zaangażowania w przymierze z Bogiem, a chrześcijaństwo jest szansą na udane życie.
The aim of the article is to describe the grounding for the need for social rites and to emphasize the dangers of associating them with Christian initiation included in the sacrament of confirmation. The need for rituals, which is a tendency more and more revived in the postmodern society, inspires to rethink the initiation character of the sacrament of confirmation, which is expressed in the very rite of its distribution and reception. Proper introduction of young Christians into the understanding of the essence of the sacrament of confirmation and into the rite itself can satisfy the need for the participation in rituals in general. However, this introduction should not be understood as an alternative to various cultural rites of passage, or to the rituals of initiation, but, first of all, it must be grasped as the experience of God’s presence in all stages of human life and of God’s invitation to friendship through the Church. Preparation for confirmation should help youth to realize that being a Christian demands the conscious involvement in the covenant with God, and Christianity is a chance for a successful life.

Tekst poświęcony jest słowackiemu realizmowi socjalistycznemu, potocznie nazywanemu sorela. Podjęto w nim problematykę relacji między unifikującym kierunkiem narzuconym przez teoretyków ZSRR a lokalną słowacką jego wersją. Postawiono też pytania o status sztuki słowackiej w zmonopolizowanym przez władzę czechosłowackim życiu artystycznym. W artykule omówiono obecność sztuki słowackiej na wystawach ogólnopaństwowych (w tym specyficznych Plastycznych plonów), efekty państwowych zamówień oraz ważne krajowe/słowackie pokazy. Wskazano głównie na odrębności zauważalne w stylistycznych i tematycznych toposach. Najważniejszym idiomem i elementem tożsamości był temat Słowackiego Powstania Narodowego, spełniając zarazem najważniejsze kryteria socrealizmu. Słowacki socrealizm okazuje się on nurtem niejednorodnym, zawiera i nawiązania do wzorów radzieckich (Medvecká, Belan, Čemický), i obrazy niekonwencjonalne, czerpiące bądź z lokalnej tradycji (Benka), bądź modernizmu (Guderna).
The paper is dedicated to Slovak Socialist Realism, colloquially called Sorela. The actual topic is the relations between the unifying tendency imposed by Soviet Union theoreticians and its local Slovak version. Furthermore, the question is asked about the status of Slovak art in the Czechoslovak artistic life monopolized by the regime authorities. In the paper the presence of Slovak art in state-wide exhibitions is discussed (including the peculiar ‘Artistic Harvest’ cycle), and so are the results of state commissions and important national/Slovak shows. Furthermore, the distinctness visible in stylistic and thematic topoi is pointed to. The most important idiom and identity element is found in the topic of the Slovak National Uprising, at the same time complying with the most important criteria of Socialist Realism. Slovak Socialist Realism proves to have been a non-homogenous tendency, containing both references to Soviet models (Medvecká, Belan, Čemický), and unconventional images, drawing either from the local tradition (Benka), or Modernism (Guderna).
