The paper explores a wide range of ethnographic challenges – risky situations, methodological dilemmas, ethical and logistic problems ‒ that we encountered in our field research on most devoted fans of FC Twente Enschede. The analysis is focused on the variety of issues that come along with the process of exploration of largely closed communities of hardcore fans. By doing so, we want to provide some guidelines for those researchers who would want to undertake similar adventures ethnographic tasks in the future. The paper is centered around four major issues. The first one refers to the access to the hermetic world of football fans, while the second section is devoted to the different types of dangers that are linked with experiencing football fandom in the match day. The third one are the consequences of such radical ethnography for the identity of the researcher, resulting from carrying out the research in the mode of “complete immersion.” The fourth issue is the influence of the first three problems (gaining access to a closed group, dangers of full involvement in the actions of a group and changes within the identity of the “immersed one”) on the inner accuracy and outer integrity of the ethnographic description.

Artykuł przedstawia główne przesłanki rozwoju koncepcji doświadczania marki i koncentruje się na wskazaniu implikacji tej koncepcji w zachowaniach konsumentów. Prezentuje przegląd literatury, wskazując na wielowymiarowość i złożoność koncepcji, która jest analizowana przez filozofów, kognitywistów oraz ekonomistów. Zidentyfikowane obszary zachowań konsumentów wrażliwe na zmiany wywołane doświadczaniem marki wskazują na szeroki zakres oddziaływania doznań. Zatem koncepcja ta wymaga holistycznego ujęcia, które uwzględni różne aspekty zachowań konsumentów.
The article presents the main premises of development of the concept of brand experience and focuses on indication of this concept's implications in consumers' behaviour. It presents a review of literature, pointing out to multi-dimensionality and complexity of the concept which is analysed by philosophers, cognitivists and economists. The identified areas of consumers' behaviour sensitive to the changes caused by experiencing the brand indicate a wide range of feelings impact. Therefore, this concept requires a holistic approach which will take into account various aspects of consumers' behaviour.

The article is a theoretical review of former and actual conceptions of personal identity that after Seymour Epstein (1991) may be concerned from two perspectives: (1) the subjective and (2) the objective. The first one refers to affective manner of self-experiencing and displays in identity senses, such as – for example – sense of self-continuity, sense of distinctiveness from other people, or sense of self-unity (that are more characteristic for traditional identity) and sense of self-openness, sense of inner variability, sense of self-changeability (that are more characteristic for so called fluid identity). The literature gives many elements of subjective identity and one of the aims of this article is to gather these different elements and to propose some kind of grouping them depending on socio-cultural context of individual’s living. The propose of grouping of identity senses is hypothetical and demands empirical verification. In the article the second, objective perspective of personal identity is also presented, and as a conclusion there is a postulate to integrate in research on identity these two perspectives, especially in a context of contemporary world that is very varied, complex and dynamic.

W artykule zaprezentowano, w oparciu o indywidualne wywiady pogłębione, doświadczanie ciężarnego ciała przez kobiety. Najczęściej ciężarne ciało jest przedmiotem zainteresowań naukowych albo jako przedmiot medykalizacji czy dyscyplinowania albo analizowane są jego reprezentacje. W tym artykule akcent przesunięty jest na doświadczanie, a tym samym wpisuje się on w rozważania prowadzone w ramach socjologii ucieleśnienia. Doświadczanie ciężarnego ciała, jako ciała o wyjątkowym statusie, łączącego w sobie dwa byty, jest analizowane poprzez odniesienie się do pojęcia granic i ich trzech wymiarów. Po pierwsze, interesuje mnie powiększanie się ciężarnego ciała, jego rozrastanie się i wynikające z tego zmiany codziennych praktyk kobiet oczekujących narodzin dziecka. Po drugie, granice ciężarnego ciała odnoszę do (nie)zależności ciała kobiety i rozwijającego się wewnątrz jej ciała dziecka. I wreszcie po trzecie, na przykładzie społecznej praktyki dotykania brzucha ciężarnej kobiety, analizuję granice prywatności i intymności ciężarnego ciała.
The way women experience a pregnant body is presented in the article on the basis of in-depth interviews. Usually, a pregnant body is a theme of scientific interest as a subject of medicalization and discipline or its representations are analyzed. This paper focuses on experience and, as a consequence, fits into the sociology of embodiment. Experiencing a pregnant body, as a body which has an exceptional status and unites two individuals, is analyzed using the concept of boundaries in three dimensions. Firstly, I am interested in pregnant body’s growing and its consequences for the daily practices. Secondly, I refer the boundaries of a pregnant body to the (in)dependence of a woman and a baby growing inside her body. And thirdly, taking the example of the practice of touching a pregnant woman’s belly, I analyze the boundaries of privacy and intimacy.

Artykuł zawiera propozycję spojrzenia na „postać” poprzez humanistycznie definiowane kategorie gry i zabawy oraz genologiczną kategorię charakterystyki. Skoro gra literacka to szczególny rodzaj interakcji między twórcą dzieła a jego odbiorcami, oparty na ciekawości lub przyjemności, przyjęto założenie, że wśród wszystkich elementów gry, którymi autor oddziałuje na zainteresowanie czytelnika, postać odgrywa rolę kluczową. Każde spotkanie z postacią w doświadczeniu lektury zmienia jednocześnie „postać” doświadczającego, a takie dwuznaczne rozumienie rzeczownika „postać” sygnalizować może użycie go w znaczeniu substancjalnym, zbliżonym do kształtu i zarazem istoty czegoś. To z kolei daje możliwość spojrzenia na grę z „postacią” na godzinach polskiego jako na grę z proteuszowym kształtem genologicznym jej charakterystyki. W związku z tym zaproponowano cztery możliwe formuły, strategie antropopoznawcze – f i g u r y gry z gatunkiem i bohaterem: 1) zanurzenie w postaci, 2) przymierzanie kostiumu postaci, 3) szczególny związek z bohaterem, 4) lustro samego siebie. Wszystkie z tych „jednostkowych inscenizacji inności” zanurzone są w kategorii szczególnie predestynowanej do scalenia wszystkich kierunków zdobywania „wiedzy o sobie i osobie” na godzinach polskiego – empatii, definiowanej przez Elżbietę Mikoś jako „szczególny oddźwięk emocjonalny”.
The article proposes to look at the “character” through the humanistically defined categories of games and play and the genological category of characteristics. Since a literary game is a special type of interaction between the creator of a work and its recipients based on curiosity or pleasure, it was assumed that among all the elements of the game with which the author influences the reader's interest, the character plays a key role. Each encounter with a character in the experience of reading changes the "character" of the experiencing person, and such an ambiguous understanding of the noun "character" may signal its use in a substantial sense, close to the shape and, at the same time, the essence of something. This, in turn, gives the opportunity to look at the game with the "character" in Polish lessons as a game with the protean genological shape of the character's characterization. Therefore, four possible formulas, anthropo-cognitive strategies have been proposed - figures of the game with the genre and the hero: 1) Immersion in the character, 2) Trying on the character's costume, 3) A special relationship with the hero, 4) Mirror of oneself. All of these "individual stagings of otherness" are immersed in a category particularly predestined to combine all directions of acquiring "knowledge about oneself and a person" during Polish lessons - empathy, defined by Elżbieta Mikoś as "a special emotional resonance".

Każdy człowiek doświadcza miłości. Jest ona wpisana w ludzkie życie. W świetle nauczania Kościoła miłość jest cnotą, dzięki której człowiek może miłować Boga i bliźnich. Szczególny wymiar ma miłość małżeńska, ponieważ odzwierciedla ona miłość Boga do człowieka. Nieodpowiednie przeżywanie miłości małżeńskiej wynika z niezrozumienia jej istoty. Miłość jest podstawą jedności małżeństwa oraz realizowanych w nim wartości. Niniejszy artykuł przedstawia przeżywanie miłości małżeńskiej we Wspólnocie Przyjaciele Oblubieńca. Przeprowadzone badania dowiodły, że należy zwrócić uwagę na kształtowanie postawy wzajemności w relacjach wielu par małżeńskich. Obszar stanowiący wyzwanie dla formacji związany jest także z przeżywaniem małżeńskiej więzi seksualnej. Duszpasterską troską należy objąć dojrzewanie miłości małżeńskiej.
Everyone experiences love. It is inscribed in human life. In the light of the Church’s teaching, love is a virtue through which one can love God and others. Marital love has a special dimension because it reflects God’s love for humans. A confused experience of marital love results from a misunderstanding of its essence. Love is the basis of the unity of marriage and the values realized in it. This article presents the experience of marital love in Friends of the Bridegroom Community. The conducted research showed that attention should be paid to shaping the attitude of reciprocity in the relations of many married couples. An area that is challenging for formation is also associated with experiencing marital sexual bond. Pastoral care should embrace the maturation of marital love.

Pedagogy has been recently becoming more and more interdisciplinary, deriving from achievements of others humanities. In modern, complicated world it could be rather impossible not to bene t from such advantage, as it would push aside pedagogy and others elds of knowledge to margin, falling it back rather than giving them prospect of growth. That is why issue of organ transplantation, for instance, although it seems stricte medical problem, now expands area of pedagogy interests. It concerns all the situations having signi cance in experiencing quality of life by the pedagogical entities, so pupils in each age. This text is based on description of experiencing life’s quality of one person, living thanks to liver transplantation. It had been 10 years after surgery when Zygmunt was giving me interview. I hold a second conversation with him, as earlier he had been exchanging with me his experiencing quality of life. For the rst time I met my interlocutor in September 2001, at that moment, he had been only three months after transplantation. Experiencing day–to day–reality of family, work, seeing with medical personnel during necessary consultation, this time were important for me. As a scientist I was interested also in changes that had been emerging and still appears in the context of quality life experiencing, from that moment when we had a rst conversation. Feeling of life sense, recognized values were signi cant for me. Quality analysis, having attributes of phenomenological description of experiencing Zygmunt’s quality life is often supplementing by medical, legal, ethical and religious data. I have done this, so that to in abbreviated way expose issues, shaping new research elds and new areas of educators’ activities in the context of transplantation. Zygmunt’s narrative is individual and for that reason it is not justi ed to make generalized conclusions. In the last part of text I am taking up e orts to justify signi cance of discussed issue (experiencing quality of life after transplantation).

This article is concerned with the importance for urban studies of the role of the sonic environment in making the dwelling space familiar, developing a sense of belonging and building a community. We analyze three selected interviews with Wroclaw residents conducted within a project on the audiosphere and the soundscape of Wroclaw. The analysis attempts at determining what sounds our respondents described as specific for their place of residence, and what emotions, meanings and values were connected with this soundscape. Our study reveals an active role played by acoustic phenomena in the process of domesticating. R.M. Schafer’s conception of soundscape and B. Latour’s actor-network theory are the theoretical background for our analysis.

The article deals with experiencing grief by children - a rarely undertaken topic in our culture. Children and death are the notions which seem to be very distant. One stands for the beginning and the other – the end. However, one cannot prevent a child from a loss situation. Children experience grief more often that we would expect. Many adults try to separate the child from experiencing grief, but it is not the right attitude. Some adults think that painful experiences which are not discussed stop existing. But this is not so. One can move the feelings away for a while, although it may have a very negative influence on the future life. Not being able to separate children and teenagers from loss experiences there is one possibility – we can determine the way we will help them to cope with loss. Neglecting this responsibility, we leave them alone with the secret of life and death, with the fear of death, with the loss of someone who loved them and who was loved by them. The paper shows the way children experience loss depending on the development stage they are at, what behaviours and emotions accompany the loss and what help should be given by parents, foster-parents, teachers and tutors to “tame” longing for the deceased.
Artykuł dotyka rzadko podejmowanego w naszej kulturze tematu jakim jest sposób przeżywania straty przez dzieci. Dzieci i śmierć – to terminy, które wydają się nam bardzo odległe. Jedno oznacza początek, a drugie koniec. Nie można dzieciom jednak oszczędzić sytuacji straty. Okazji do doświadczania przez nie żałoby jest więcej, niż może się nam wydawać. Wielu dorosłych próbuje oddzielić dziecko od przeżywania żałoby, nie jest to jednak droga właściwa. Niektórzy dorośli myślą, że bolesne doświadczenia, o których się nie mówi, przestają istnieć. Tak nie jest. Można na chwilę odsunąć uczucia, ale wpływ tego na dalsze życie może być bardzo zły. Nie mogąc oddzielać dzieci i młodzieży od doświadczeń straty mamy jedną drogę, możemy określić sposób w jaki pomożemy im radzić sobie ze stratą. Lekceważąc ten obowiązek, zostawiamy je sam na sam z tajemnicą życia i śmierci, ze strachem przed śmiercią, ze stratą kogoś, kto je kochał i kogo one darzyły uczuciem. Artykuł pokazuje jak dzieci przeżywają stratę w zależności od etapu rozwoju na którym się znajdują, jakie towarzyszą temu zachowania i emocje oraz jaka powinna być adekwatna pomoc świadczona przez rodziców, opiekunów, nauczycieli i wychowawców, tak by młodzi ludzie mogli „oswoić” swoją tęsknotę za zmarłym.

The text is an attempt to introduce and initiate a research project which focuses on experiencing the culture of daily living by international exchange students. The authors present major theoretical reflections on the issues of experience and culture of everyday life; they also characterize the community of student– participants of international exchange programs. (Re)cognition and understanding of experience is a methodological challenge, especially in regard to dialogue-oriented intercultural education. The authors decided to explore the issue, using arts-based research. In this model, the role of researchers-facilitators is to introduce the respondents into the research process by inviting them to participate in joint activities focusing on cognitive, artistic, social, and educational objectives. Such participation and cooperation are supposed to result in generating critical knowledge necessary to improve the respondents’ daily life. In the last part of the text, the authors conduct an initial analysis of the selected international exchange programs. The goal of the characteristics of ERASMUS, ISEP, AIESEC, CEEPUS programs is to outline the official objectives and priorities assigned to formal education. In this perspective, when planning their original research, the authors asked the following question: How are these priorities present, as complementary to non-formal education, in experiencing the culture of everyday life by exchange students?

Osobne miejsce poświęcam możliwościom, jakie daje Internet w zakresie społecznego wsparcia - tematyczne portale internetowe oferują wielokierunkową pomoc osobom przeżywającym żałobę.
The purpose of the following article is to provide a sociological reflection focusing on the problems of transience and death. By referring to representative surveys and specialist articles published in journals and on the Internet, I wish to present the specificity of Polish experience of grief, faith traditions, honoring the memory of the dead and, at the same time, note changes such as, for example, a dynamic growth of the funeral industry. Additionally, the paper indicates the existing social support in the form of numerous thematically arranged websites available on the Internet, which offer multidirectional help to those in mourning.

In accordance with the literary and social research of Jean-Francois Augoyard, Michel de Certeau and Joanna Ślósarska, the main thesis of the article is that the figures of speech are the same for both the language and the space. In addition, the article is an attempt of checking whether the way of walking and “tasting” the space (step by step) could inspire new possibilities of interpretation. It tries to apply wandering figures in practice, which is exemplified by Description of a struggle (1912) – one of the earliest stories by Franz Kafka.

W artykule przedstawiona jest propozycja wykorzystania podstawowego terminu antropologii filozoficznej, jakim jest Osoba (osobotwórczość), w celu wydostania się z ciążącej na polskiej dydaktyce ogólnej bezosobowej epistemologii marksistowsko-leninowskiej. Aby zabieg ten uczynić czytelnym, autor podjął się krytycznego spojrzenia na naukową twórczość Wincentego Okonia (1914–2011), uchodzącego za niepodważalny autorytet w dziejach polskiej powojennej dydaktyki. Krytyka ta odbywa się na tle wyłaniającej się istoty Człowieka, przedstawionej przez Karola Wojtyłę (1920–2005), w dziele znanym jako Osoba i czyn (1969). Artykuł obfituje tym samym w język filozoficzny i wynikające z niego neologizmy, dawno niestosowane w polskim dyskursie dydaktycznym. Do takich autorskich pojęć należy „egzystencjał personalny”, akcentujący potrzebę wyodrębnienia nauczania jako sposobu Bycia od innych przejawów ludzkiej egzystencji. Na tej podstawie ukazane zostały profile egzystencjalne wykładowców akademickich, wyprowadzone teoretycznie z personalizmu. Wyróżniono trzy egzystencjały personalne, będące wykładnią poziomów uczestnictwa nauczyciela we własnym wykładzie: (1) dydaktyczny (gr. didáskō, nauczam); (2) heurystyczny (gr. heuriskō, odnajduję, poszukując); (3) ginetyczny (gr. ginōskō, poznaję przez doznanie samego siebie). Na każdy z trzech egzystencjałów przypada określony typ tożsamości: (1) biernego wykonawcy czynności, (2) aktywnego twórcy dzieła oraz (3) przeżywającego relację z sobą samym i innymi sprawcę czynu nauczania. Artykuł ma charakter propedeutyczny. Pełny opis wybranych cech i wskaźników każdego z profili oraz ich pogłębione założenia teoretyczne i metodologiczne stanowią główną treść rozprawy doktorskiej i przygotowywanej na jej podstawie osobnej publikacji.
The article indicates the possibility of using the basic term of philosophical anthropology, which is the Person (person-creating), in order to get out of the impersonal Marxist-Leninist epistemology burdening Polish general didactics. In order to make this procedure readable, the author undertook a critical look at the scientific work of Wincenty Okoń (1914–2011), who was considered an undisputed authority in the history of Polish post-war didactics. This criticism takes place against the background of the emerging essence of Man, illustrated by Karol Wojtyla (1920–2005), in the work known as Person and Act (1969). Thus, the article abounds in philosophical language and the neologisms resulting from it, which have not been used for a long time in the Polish discourse of teaching and learning theory. Such author’s concepts include “personal existence”, emphasizing the need to separate teaching as a way of Being, from other manifestations of human existence. On this basis, the existential profiles of academic lecturers were shown, derived theoretically from personalism. Three personal existences have been distinguished, which are an interpretation of the levels of teacher participation in his own lecture: (1) didactic (greek: didáskō, I teach); (2) heuristic (heuriskō, I seek – I find); (3) ginetic (ginōskō, I know through experience), consisting in experiencing my own subjectivity (self-experience of myself as a person), in the act of getting to know the taught subject and entities involved. Each of the three existences has a specific type of identity: (1) the passive performer of the activity, (2) the active creator of the work, and (3) the perpetrator of the teaching act experiencing a relationship with himself and others. The article has a propaedeutic nature. A full description of selected features and indicators of each profile and their in-depth theoretical and methodological assumptions constitute the main content of the doctoral dissertation and a separate publication prepared on its basis

This paper focuses on examining the differences between boredom as experienced in learning the L2 and the L3. Its first part provides a theoretical background including the definition, causes of boredom and an overview of research findings, whereas the second part approaches boredom from an empirical perspective and as such it is devoted to the discussion of the results obtained from a mixed methods study conducted by the present authors on four university students of English. The collected data enabled the authors to identify the factors responsible for experiencing boredom in these two distinct language learning contexts.

Nowoczesność to czas, kiedy wskutek procesów modernizacyjnych determinujących zarówno dynamikę przemian w obszarze technologii i ekonomii, ale także modyfikujących przestrzeń społeczną, stabilny i koherentny obraz świata uległ upłynnieniu i ambiwalencji. W podobny sposób konwersja ta dotknęła wszystkich wymiarów życia człowieka, w tym także wszelkich rodzajów jego aktywności. Stało się to źródłem specyficznego doświadczenia dezintegracji podmiotu. Praca, stanowiąc podstawowy rodzaj aktywności człowieka, również wpisana została w antynomiczne napięcie pomiędzy przyjemnością a przymusem, samorealizacją a wyobcowaniem, podmiotowością a uprzedmiotowieniem. Dlatego nowoczesność generowała szereg krytycznych dyskursów, które pod znakiem zapytania postawiły kierunek dotychczasowych przemian. W obszar takiej krytycznej retoryki wpisuje się myśl Stanisława Brzozowskiego. Stanowi ona jednak tutaj jedynie pretekst do przywołania tez określających kondycję nowoczesnego człowieka i do problematyzacji efektów dynamicznego zagospodarowywania przyrody.
A modernity is a time, when as a result of modernization processes determining both dynamics of transformations in area of the technology and economics, but also modifying the social space, the stable and coherent image of world became liquid and ambivalent. This conversion affected similarly all dimensions of the human life, including of all kinds of his activity. It became a source of specific experiencing the disintegration of the subject. Labour, constituting the basic kind of the activity of the man, was also written down into the antinomic tension between pleasure and the compulsion, between the self-realization and the alienation and between the subjectivity and objectifying. Therefore the modernity generated the row of critical discourses which called direction of current transformations into question. A thought of Stanisław Brzozowski is becoming part of an area of such critical rhetoric. However this thought constitutes only a pretext for the recall of theses determining the condition of the modern man here and to problematization of effects of dynamic developing the nature.
