The article presents the results of experimental research on the culture of creative thinking that consists of its: characteristics, purposes, contents, principles, forms, methods of discussions, and didactic means used to activate students’ creative thinking. The research has also allowed to learn how important in the process of stimulation of students’ creative thinking are such conditions as: atmosphere of discussion, appearance of critical expressions destroying ideas (“idea killers”), and moderators’ personality traits. The main results of the described cycle of creative discussion are: stimulation of students’ creative thinking, teaching students the culture of creative discussion and strategy of “attacking” problems by generating many various and original ideas to solve problems, increasing students’ awareness of their own potential of creativity, and obtaining the ability of discussing and cooperating in teams / groups.

Jednym z podstawowych założeń dydaktyki obcojęzycznej jest nauka poprzez sensowne działanie. Pojęcie „sensownego działania” będzie zawsze w jakiś sposób nieostre, ponieważ sens nadawany jest działaniom przez konkretne jednostki, czyli mamy tu do czynienia z subiektywną oceną. Nie jest więc łatwo nadać sens działaniom lekcyjnym w formalnym nauczaniu języka obcego, chociażby z powodu liczby osób uczestniczących zwykle w jednej lekcji. Ale nie jest to niemożliwe. W niniejszym artykule wychodzi się z założenia, że jedną z wielu możliwości usensownienia procesów dydaktycznych na lekcji języka obcego jest prowadzenie przez nauczyciela treningu twórczego myślenia oraz treningu strategicznego, obu zintegrowanych z celami i treściami regularnych zajęć. Wybór ten uzasadnia się paradygmatem konstruktywistycznym, współczesnymi potrzebami edukacyjnymi oraz bieżącymi uwarunkowaniami społecznymi – po to, by ostatecznie przejść do zaprezentowania aplikacji glottodydaktycznych w ramach wspomnianych treningów.
One of the basic assumptions of foreign language teaching methodology is that one learns through meaningful actions. The term “meaningful actions” will always be somehow vague because sense is made of actions by specific individuals, so there is always some subjective evaluation involved. Therefore, it is not easy to make class activities meaningful in the formal setting of foreign language teaching, taking into account for example the number of students participating in a single class. However, it is not impossible, either. This article assumes that one of the many possibilities to make sense of FLT processes is when the teacher carries out creative thinking training and strategic training, both of them integrated with the objectives and contents of regular classes. This choice is explained and justified by the constructivism paradigm, contemporary educational needs, as well as the social circumstances. Eventually, the article presents FLT applications within the trainings mentioned above.

The article presents conduct research into in the field of creative methods. The collected material shows that the creative methods and techniques have huge potential. Principles and strategies of creative thinking, they can reinforce a pro-innovative attitude in an organisation and facilitate making optimal decisions. Heuristic methods allow developing creative thinking for the development of an enterprise. Some case studies are presented using the methods typical for studied enterprise. The appropriate stimulation for creating new ideas and solving tasks becomes nowadays indispensable. This type of mobilization allows one to independently create condition for shaping pro-innovative work environment. The choice of more analytical and common sense methods or methods based on intuition and imagination depends on one’s personal abilities. Combining them in harmony is a way to go.

This article is a report on the planned and conducted series of experimental art classes dedicated to children in early school age. The aim of the presented initial research was the verification of a working hypothesis assuming the positive influence of a planned and conducted art lesson class cycle inspired by abstraction, on the creative potential of the participants. In the research project presented and described below, abstraction has been treated as a potential factor stimulating creative thinking, the level of which has been identified by using Drawing Creative Thinking Test by K.K. Urban and H.G. Jellen (TCT-DP) in pre and post-experimental version. The research project was implemented on the basis of a quasi-experimental method, however – which must be emphasized – it has been based on the assumptions of action research and constructed on the basis of the ARTography category. 64 students from the first grade and two second grades of a primary school participated in the experimental class cycle. 47 pairs of drawings created on the basis of TCP-DP sheets have been analyzed and assessed. As a consequence, the distinguished working hypothesis has been initially confirmed – however, the presented research field requires further research, exploration and detailed analyses. The presented research and its initial results constitute a factor initiating the considerations regarding the possibility of applying and implementing non-standard solutions in art lessons, which – as it turns out, end up being solutions that are enriching and desirable, especially from the creative thinking perspective.

Mnóstwo argumentów przemawia za tym, aby każdy nauczyciel i każdy dyrektor placówki oświatowej stali się adwokatami kreatywności. Nauczyciel i dyrektor są w stanie promować idee kreatywności wśród rodziców, grona pedagogicznego i przedstawicieli organów prowadzących. Już nie tylko intuicyjne przekonanie, że „warto stawiać na kreatywność w przedszkolu, szkole”, ale także wyniki badań z krajów Unii Europejskiej i wypowiedzi ekspertów pomagać będą wszystkim ambasadorom kreatywności. Na kreatywność w przedszkolu i w szkole po prostu warto stawiać – to się opłaci wszystkim – nawet, jeśli rezultaty poznamy za 10, czy 20 lat. Należy stawiać więc na edukację dla kreatywności w każdej polskiej placówce edukacyjnej, na każdym poziomie nauczania.
There are many arguments for making every teacher and every headmaster of an educational institution become advocates of creativity. The teacher and the principal are able to promote the ideas of creativity among parents, teaching staff and representatives of the governing bodies. Not only the intuitive belief that „it is worth betting on creativity in kindergarten, school”, but also research results from European Union countries and expert statements will help all creativity ambassadors. It is worth betting on creativity in kindergarten and school – it will pay off for everyone – even if we know the results in 10 or 20 years. Therefore, education for creativity should be emphasized in every Polish educational institution, at every level of education.

Niniejsze opracowanie jest próbą zwrócenia uwagi na trudności występujące w procesie nauczania informatyki. Młodzież w newralgicznym momencie, kiedy potrzebne jest porzucenie prostych aplikacji i rozpatrywanie problemów na poziomie wymagającym abstrakcyjnego, twórczego myślenia, traci zainteresowanie przedmiotem i łatwo się zniechęca. Problem taki jest zauważalny, zwłaszcza na lekcjach informatyki w szkołach średnich, kiedy rozpoczynamy zajęcia z podstaw algorytmiki i programowania. Wprowadzenie aplikacji technologii Flash w procesie nauczania ułatwiłoby płynne przejście od grafiki i aplikacji webowych poprzez język ActionScript, posiadający ogromne możliwości, do programowania w językach C++ czy Turbo Pascal. Możliwość prostego sterowania obiektami w języku ActionScript, połączona z efektownymi możliwościami ich wizualizacji, daje szansę inspirowania wiedzą podczas omawiania podstawowych algorytmów. Finalnie przyszli programiści stając przed rzeczywistymi wymaganiami klientów, możliwościami takiej czy innej technologii, a w końcu kodem źródłowym aplikacji, dysponować będą elastycznym podejściem w rozwiązywaniu problemów i ich wizualizacji, co ważne jest zwłaszcza w pracy zespołowej.
This case study attempts to highlight the difficulties experienced in teaching information technology. In the key moment, when it is necessary to employ abstract and creative thinking, pupils, who are used to using simple applications, become disinterested in the subject. This problem is particularly prominent in the secondary schools when the concepts of programming and algorithm design are first introduced. Introducing Adobe Flash applications in the schools’ curriculum would ease transition from graphical and web applications through ActionScript, and ultimately lead to programming in C++, or Turbo Pascal. The ActionScript’s capability to manipulate objects, together with the ease of their visualisation, gives the ability to enthuse and inspire whilst demonstrating basic algorithms. Ultimately, future programmers, facing customer requirements, new technologies and application source code, will have at their disposal a flexible approach to problem visualisation and its potential solutions, both of these abilities are extremely important particularly whilst working within a team.

The aim of this article is to present the course of a creative session in the studied enterprise with application of techniques and methods of creating innovative solutions. It shall also include presentation of creative thinking conditions, which support the ability of solving complex problems and making optimal decisions. The creative methods and techniques have huge potential. Supported with principles and strategies of creative thinking, they can reinforce a proinnovative attitude in an organisation and facilitate making optimal decisions. Each creative session is unique and all team results obtained during a meeting are valuable. Creative sessions are favourable in terms of development of an enterprise and its employees. Incorporation of new technical and organisational solutions can deliver measurable economic and social advantages. Holding a creative session does not, however, guarantee obtaining practical solutions. A successful session has predetermined time limits and includes information on cost limits. Influence on the effectiveness of decisions are based on creative problem solving tools. They raise the number of obtained interesting ideas and improve their quality. A creative session allows to train methods and techniques of creative problem solving as well as the ability of selecting them depending on the needs.

The paper present the project of system non-routine decision support to optimize the selection of methods to stimulate the user's requirements. The aim is to characterize the different steps of building the system structure. Created database of creative problem solving methods will help to obtain the description of the indicated method. The study highlighted the general assumptions of the system and the criteria for selection of methods. In addition, it underlined the need to change the approach to scientific problems - technical, for which there is no ready-made answers. The methods used have revealed ideas for innovations in different areas. The appropriate stimulation for creating new ideas and solving tasks becomes nowadays indispensable. Omówiono także wpływ motywowania pracowników poprzez nagradzanie za ich kreatywność. Praktycy zarządzający pracownikami mogą znaleźć w artykule inspiracje dotyczące możliwości kształtowania elementów środowiska pracy, które zachęcają pracowników do zastosowania swoich twórczych zdolności w pracy.
The objective of this article is to present the impact of various work environment factors on the creativity and innovativeness of employees. Factors with both a positive and negative influence on worker creativity are presented. Important elements include management style and communication, work atmosphere, and organizational support for innovativeness. The article also describes factors influencing creativity in terms of teamwork. The impact of employee motivation through rewarding creativity is also described. Practitioners responsible for employee management will find inspiration in this article relating to possibilities for molding work environment factors that encourage employees to apply their creative skills in their work.

Celem prezentowanych badań było sprawdzenie, co warunkuje myślenie twórcze pracowników branży IT. Pojęcie myślenie twórcze jest definiowane w odniesieniu do koncepcji twórczości Urbana. Z kolei uwarunkowania osobowościowe zostały opisane z wykorzystaniem pięcioczynnikowego modelu osobowości Costy i McCrae'a, a środowiskowe w odniesieniu do klimatu organizacyjnego w ujęciu Kolba. W badaniu uczestniczyło 224 programistów (110 kobiet i 114 mężczyzn), którzy zostali poproszeni o wypełnienie narzędzi badawczych o sprawdzonych właściwościach psychometrycznych. Były to: Rysunkowy Test Myślenia Twórczego Urbana i Jellena, Inwentarz Osobowości NEO-FFI Costy i McCrae'a oraz Kwestionariusz Klimatu Organizacyjnego Kolba. Otrzymane dane potwierdzają związki myślenia twórczego programistów z otwartością na doświadczenie, sumiennością oraz klimatem organizacyjnym, w tym wymaganiami i kierowaniem. Płeć modyfikuje rozpatrywane zależności. Wiedza, zdobyta dzięki badaniom, może przełożyć się na programy szkoleniowe adresowane do osób, które pragną rozwijać swój twórczy potencjał, z drugiej strony może kreować proinnowacyjną kulturę organizacyjną.
The aim of the presented research was to check what determines the creative thinking of IT employees. The concept is defined with reference to Urban's concept of creativity, the personality conditions are described using Costa and McCrae's five-factor model of personality, while the overview of the environmental conditions is based on Kolb's organisational climate approach. 224 programmers (110 women and 114 men) participated in the study and were asked to complete the following research tools with validated psychometric properties: Urban and Jellen's Test for Creative Thinking - Drawing Performance, Costa and McCrae's NEO-FFI Personality Inventory, and Kolb's Organisational Climate Questionnaire. The data obtained confirms the association of the programmers' creative thinking with openness to experience, conscientiousness and organisational climate, including demands and leadership. Gender modifies the relationships considered. The knowledge gained can help develop training programmes addressed to people who wish to develop their creative potential; it can also create an innovation-friendly organisational culture.

The subject of creativity is widely understood and discussed in terms of education. This Article discusses the creative approach to teaching and the methods of developing student creativity. Attention is focused on creative thinking and creative problem solving. Examples of the use of methods which help to develop these competences in practice in pre-school and early-school education are provided. Przedmiotem rozważań jest troska o rozwój twórczego myślenia i problematyka potencjału intelektualnego dojrzałych przedstawicieli środowiska akademickiego (pracowników naukowo-dydaktycznych 65 plus). W artykule zidentyfikowano czynniki ograniczające – bariery i wspierające kreatywne myślenie zarówno na poziomie organizacji procesu dydaktycznego, jak i poszczególnych grup interesariuszy: instytucji zajmujących się edukacją nauczycieli akademickich i studentów. Drugim celem było uzyskanie odpowiedzi na pytanie: czy dojrzali nauczyciele akademiccy charakteryzują się mądrością oraz jak kształtują się preferencje ich młodszych i starszych kolegów dotyczące elementów tej mądrości? W empirycznej części artykułu zamieszczono wyniki badań kwestionariuszowych, przeprowadzonych w grupie 72 młodszych i starszych nauczycieli akademickich (oraz 222 studentów). Okazało się, że: – nauczyciele akademiccy formułują wiele cennych postulatów, sprzyjających rozwojowi kreatywnego myślenia studentów i dotyczących ich własnego rozwoju; – młodsi pracownicy akademiccy przywiązują dużą wagę do kompetencji interpersonalnych jako atrybutu mądrości ich starszych kolegów.
The subject matter of considerations is concern about the development of creative thinking and problems of the intellectual potential of mature representatives of the academic community (academic workers aged 65+). In their article, the authors identified the limiting factors, barriers, and those supporting creative thinking both at the level of organisation of the didactic process and individual groups of stakeholders: the institutions dealing with education of academic teachers and students. The second objective was to receive an answer to the question: Are mature academic teachers characterised by wisdom and how are their younger and elder colleagues’ preferences related to the elements of that wisdom shaped? In the empirical part of the article, the authors included findings of the questionnaire-based surveys carried out in a group of 72 younger and elder academic teachers (and 222 students). It appeared that: – academic teachers formulate many valuable postulates conducive to the development of students’ creative thinking and concerning their own development; – young academic teachers pay a great attention to interpersonal competencies as an attribute of wisdom of their elder colleagues.

Opis:
The article discusses the theme of provoking creative activity of a children, used in the Wrocław School of the Future. It is a school that differs from the traditional school, in which activities that stimulate imagination and creative thinking take an important place, and the ecological theme is the key context of these activities. It treats education as an alternative in opposition to traditional solutions, giving each child a chance to develop their abilities. This is favored by methods used to design educational opportunities, in which the child is provoked, through unconventional forms, to creative activity.
W artykule poruszony jest wątek prowokowania dzieci do aktywności twórczej, stosowany we Wrocławskiej Szkole Przyszłości. Jest to szkoła inna od tej tradycyjnej, ponieważ ważne miejsce zajmują w niej działania pobudzające wyobraźnię i twórcze myślenie, a wątek ekologiczny stanowi kluczowy kontekst tych działań. W artykule podkreśla się, że w tej szkole edukację traktuje się jako alternatywną wobec rozwiązań tradycyjnych, dając każdemu dziecku szansę rozwoju jego możliwości. Sprzyjają temu stosowane tam metody projektowania okazji edukacyjnych, w których dziecko prowokowane jest poprzez niekonwencjonalne formy do aktywności twórczej.
