    The present review deals with the bioactive compounds of the marine non-chordates. The potent medicinal usage of the bioactive compounds viz. steroids, terpenoids, isoprenoid and non-isoprenoid compounds, quinones, brominated compounds, nitrogen heterocyclics and nitrogen-sulphur heterocyclics from marine non-chordates have been compiled. Various literatures survey revealed that the bioactive compounds isolated in recent past from the marine poriferans, cnidarians, annelids, arthropods, molluscs and echinoderms could be rich sources of therapeutic agents having antibacterial, antiinflamatory, anticarcinogenic properties. In overall, the present study will be benefitted to know global drug discovery researches on bioactive compounds from marine organisms for students, scholars, scientists, pharmaceutical sector, and government regulating authorities as new challenging technology in clinical applications through medicines.

    Introduction. Royal Jelly (RJ) is a popular bee-derived product used widely in European and Asian traditional medicine. RJ has some pharmacological activities to support health and longevity as well as prevent ageing. Objectives. To evaluate whether a short-term 6-day Royal Jelly administration is able to induce behavioural and neurochemical effects in aged rats. Materials and method. RJ (previously chemically characterized by GC-FID and GC–MS) was given to 18-month-old male Wistar rats (100 and 500mg of powder/kg b.w./day) in subcutaneous injection for 6 days. Spatial memory was assessed in a water maze. Afterwards, the level of neurotransmitters, their metabolites and turnover in the selected brain regions were estimated by HPLC. Results. Short-term RJ administration did not change spatial memory in aged rats in the water maze, although it was sufficiently active to modify most of all the serotonergic and dopaminergic transmission in the prefrontal cortex and hippocampus. Conclusion. The obtained results indicate that Royal Jelly is able to affect very quickly the neurotransmission in the brain structures responsible for cognitive performance; however, short-term administration is not sufficient to exert behavioural consequences.

    Azadirachtins are known as phagorepellent natural products from seeds of the neem tree Azadirachta indica A. Juss (Meliaceae), which impede the development of larval insects and sterilize adults. The labors of the past three decades ultimatively lead to a chemical structure, which has been unanimously but independently elaborated by German, British and American authors. This structure is in force ever since 1985/87 and was ultimately confirmed by Veitch & al. in Ley’s group in Cambridge, England, through total synthesis. Its 25th birthday is presently being celebrated. Marrangin (=Azadirachtin L) was discovered in Gießen and chemically identified by Kalinowski and colleagues. It occurs in seeds of the marrango tree, Azadirachta excelsa (Jack) Jacobs. In some insect species but also in mites like Tetranychus urticae, its biological activity is significantly superior to azadirachtin A. The value of these biorational compounds, with their very low vertebrate toxicity, and their low toxicity today is globally recognized. Quite recently, azadirachtin and analogues gain acceptance in veterinary and human medicine.

    There is a rather widespread view that inadequate composition of diet, with respect to the content of certain natural products and presence of foreign substances in food rations, is a very important factor contributing to the occurrence and development of certain neoplasms. The opinions on this problem show a constant evolution. This review tries to provide a picture of the present state of knowledge on the effects of natural food components on the occurrence of neoplasms.

    The purpose of this study is to classify the activity of entrepreneurs in the fi eld of the integration of environmental concerns into the various phases of the life cycle of a product/ service and the evaluation of the potential of the selected elements of the organizations important from the perspective of expanding this activity. This paper includes an assessment of the signifi cance of some selected factors in the implementation of business support solutions in the adoption of pro-environmental ideas, and outlines the importance of the location as regards a natural, valuable area for the formation of eco-products. The study revealed no formal basis for the implementation of an eco-product policy and the pro-ecology motivation of half of the entities, resulting mainly from the need for compliance with environmental regulations. Activity in the shaping of eco-products requires a strengthening of the case study group and a more comprehensive approach. Its limitations are fi nancial and information barriers. Most respondents see opportunities for creating organic products as a result of their location.
    Celem opracowania jest charakterystyka aktywności przedsiębiorców w zakresie uwzględniania wymogów środowiskowych w ramach poszczególnych faz cyklu życia produktu/usługi oraz ocena wybranych elementów potencjału badanych organizacji istotnych z perspektywy zwiększenia tej aktywności. W pracy dokonano także oceny istotności wybranych czynników wsparcia przedsiębiorców we wdrażaniu rozwiązań proekologicznych oraz zarysowano problem znaczenia lokalizacji na obszarze przyrodniczo cennym dla kształtowania ekoproduktu. Badania ujawniły brak formalnych podstaw wdrażania polityki ekoproduktu oraz motywację działań proekologicznych połowy podmiotów wynikającą głównie z potrzeby spełniania regulacji środowiskowych. Aktywność w kształtowaniu ekoproduktu wymaga w przypadku badanej grupy wzmocnienia i bardziej kompleksowego podejścia. Jej ograniczenie stanowią bariery fi nansowe i informacyjne. Większość badanych dostrzega możliwości w zakresie kreowania produktu ekologicznego wynikające z lokalizacji.

    The concentration of radon and its decay products in the boundary layer of the atmosphere varies and depends on many factors. One of the main factors leading to the variability of equilibrium equivalent concentration (EEC) of radon is the dynamic behavior of the atmosphere. Describing the behavior of radon concentration and EEC in the atmosphere is important for the estimation of natural human exposition (this was our original goal). The National Institute for Nuclear, Chemical and Biological Protection (SÚJCHBO, v.v.i.) has been investigating the characteristics of radon decay products in the boundary layer of the atmosphere since 1985. The measurements of EEC were carried out in places with different exhalation of radon from the subsoil. The grab sampling method, as well as continuous measurement, were applied in various areas. The determination of outdoor radon and radon daughter product (RnDP) is not easy due to very low levels of their concentrations: therefore, many methods and devices had to be modified for this type of measurement.

    In the field of text mining, many novel feature extraction approaches have been propounded. The following research paper is based on a novel feature extraction algorithm. In this paper, to formulate this approach, a weighted graph mining has been used to ensure the effectiveness of the feature extraction and computational efficiency; only the most effective graphs representing the maximum number of triangles based on a predefined relational criterion have been considered. The proposed novel technique is an amalgamation of the relation between words surrounding an aspect of the product and the lexicon-based connection among those words, which creates a relational triangle. A maximum number of a triangle covering an element has been accounted as a prime feature. The proposed algorithm performs more than three times better than TF-IDF within a limited set of data in analysis based on domain-specific data.

    This paper analyzes product characteristics as a factor that affects the activities performed in the logistic channel. The analysis has been conducted for a specific product - natural gas and, in particular its two forms: liquefied and compressed. The features of these two forms are outlined in the context of fuel distribution to end-users. This study aims to structure and expand the existing knowledge about alternative distribution of natural gas to the end users based on an analysis of literary sources and regulations on its carriage by road and rail transport. A comparative analysis of the product characteristics of liquefied and compressed natural gas has been carried out and some basic features concerning logistics activities and logistics costs have been outlined.
