The paper extends the research program of modeling the Schumpeterian vision of innovative development in the framework of the Arrow-Debreu theory of general equilibrium. To study changes in the production sector, as well as in the whole economy, the concept of extension of the systems under study is introduced. It enables us to model the mechanisms of Schumpeterian evolution in the conceptual apparatus of Hurwicz’s theory of economic mechanisms. The paper is aimed at expanding our previous studies into two new directions. First, we establish the conditions sufficient for improving positions of various groups of agents such as producers, innovators, consumers, etc., under the price or qualitative mechanism regime. Second, to compare mechanisms of Schumpeterian evolution, we respect the logic of this process which is determined by innovative, as well as adaptive, equilibrium changes in the evolving economy under consideration. Consequently, we formulate two different criteria in our comparative analysis based, on the one hand, on the index of the distance between two innovative extensions of the given economic system and, on the other hand, on the increase in wealth of the given set of agents. The motivations of innovators, and the reason for which innovations are adopted into the producers’ and consumers’ plans of action, are also precisely explained in the paper. The results of our theoretical research can be useful in economic analyses, among others, in the case of the lack of the sufficient access to statistical data. Due to both the formal conceptual apparatus of the general equilibrium theory and Hurwicz’s approach to the problem of designing economic mechanisms, the paper takes the form of an axiomatic deductive system of mathematical theorems interpreted in the language of economics.

When designing a new mechanism, the designer has to know its kinematic parameters: position, velocity, acceleration, the number of design options, specific positions, motion ranges of particular links, effects of manufacturing tolerances of links and clearances in kinematic pairs on functioning of the mechanism. The latter parameter is associated with sensitivity of the mechanism, understood as its ability to respond to even minimal variations of the driving link position. The source of information about these parameters becomes the objective function obtained through the application of the modification method. This study explores the effects of clearances in kinematic pairs and structure of the mechanism on its sensitivity.
Konstruktor już na etapie projektowania mechanizmu chce wiedzieć, jakie będą jego właściwości kinematyczne. Interesują go położenia, prędkości, przyspieszenia, liczba opcji montażowych, położenia osobliwe, zakresy ruchu poszczególnych ogniw, wpływ tolerancji wykonania ogniw oraz luzów w parach kinematycznych na działanie mechanizmu. Ostatnia z wymienionych właściwości łączy się z pojęciem wrażliwości mechanizmu, rozumianej jako jego zdolności do reagowania na najmniejszą zmianę położenia ogniwa napędzającego. Źródłem informacji na temat wszystkich wymienionych właściwości jest funkcja celu otrzymana w wyniku stosowania metody modyfikacji. W niniejszym opracowaniu przedstawiono wpływ luzów w parach kinematycznych i struktury mechanizmu na jego wrażliwość.

Researchers investigating human beings claim that everybody uses defence mechanisms. However, different people use different mechanisms. The most mature persons employ mature mechanisms, and those less mature and those in crisis situations use primitive mechanisms. The article presents a study on the relationship between the intensity of defence mechanisms and the level of spiritual involvement. Two groups of people are compared: one group consists of the members of the Christian Faculty Forum, and the other of people whose professional lives are not connected with teaching. The results obtained indicate a correlation between the involvement in one’s spiritual life and personal maturity measured with the use of mature defence mechanisms. The analysis of the results indicates that the development of spiritual life is connected with the development of personality. Involvement in spirituality and in spiritual health helps people reach maturity and deeper involvement in their pedagogical work.

The genus Proteus belongs to the Enterobacteriaceae family, where it is placed in the tribe Proteeae, together with the genera Morganella and Providencia. Currently, the genus Proteus consists of five species: P. mirabilis, P. vulgaris, P. penneri, P. hauseri and P. myxofaciens, as well as three unnamed Proteus genomospecies. The most defining characteristic of Proteus bacteria is a swarming phenomenon, a multicellular differentiation process of short rods to elongated swarmer cells. It allows population of bacteria to migrate on solid surface. Proteus bacteria inhabit the environment and are also present in the intestines of humans and animals. These microorganisms under favorable conditions cause a number of infections including urinary tract infections (UTIs), wound infections, meningitis in neonates or infants and rheumatoid arthritis. Therefore, Proteus is known as a bacterial opportunistic pathogen. It causes complicated UTIs with a higher frequency, compared to other uropathogens. Proteus infections are accompanied by a formation of urinary stones, containing struvite and carbonate apatite. The virulence of Proteus rods has been related to several factors including fimbriae, flagella, enzymes (urease - hydrolyzing urea to CO2 and NH3, proteases degrading antibodies, tissue matrix proteins and proteins of the complement system), iron acqusition systems and toxins: hemolysins, Proteus toxin agglutinin (Pta), as well as an endotoxin - lipopolysaccharide (LPS). Proteus rods form biofilm, particularly on the surface of urinary catheters, which can lead to serious consequences for patients. In this review we present factors involved in the regulation of swarming phenomenon, discuss the role of particular pathogenic features of Proteus spp., and characterize biofilm formation by these bacteria.

The issue of homelessness is a phenomenon that´s very serious for a long time not only in Slovakia, but also in other countries of the world. Homelessness is considered as one of the most extreme consequences of poverty and social exclusion. The article emphasizes activities whose purpose is to help homeless people from physical, psychological, and social harm and enable them to return to society. The main aim of the article is to focus on methods of prevention by which it´s possible to eliminate the emergence of homelessness. This article is a partial output of the project VEGA 1/0595/21 – Public administration interventions at the time of COVID-19 and their impact on the quality of life of citizens of selected communities.

Main scattering mechanisms affecting electron transport in MOS/SOI devices are considered within the quantum-mechanical approach. Electron mobility components (i.e., phonon, Coulomb and interface roughness limited mobilities) are calculated for ultrathin symmetrical DG SOI transistor, employing the relaxation time approximation, and the effective electron mobility is obtained showing possible mobility increase relative to the conventional MOSFET in the range of the active semiconductor layer thickness of about 3 nm.

Over the past 20 years quantitative measures of frother functions have been developed to try to replace such qualitative descriptors as “weak” and “strong”. One of these metrics is the critical coalescence concentration (CCC) that quantifies a frother’s ability to reduce bubble size; another is the concentration at minimum velocity (CMV) that quantifies a frother’s ability to reduce bubble rise velocity. The experimental procedure for the two measures is briefly outlined and the measures are shown to be related. Using CMV, based on more than 50 surfactants from the two main frother families, alcohols and polyglycols, the frother structure-property-function link is investigated. The structure variables were: in alcohols, alkyl chain length, and position of the methyl branch and hydroxyl group(s); and in polyglycols, alkyl chain length, and number of propylene oxide (PO) or ethylene oxide (EO) groups. On the argument that low CMV represents the desired outcome, the main findings are: the dominant effect of alkyl chain length in both alcohols and polyglycols; that for alcohols branched-chain isomers are superior to straight chain, with the best combination being OH at the terminus and the methyl branch as far away as possible; and for polyglycols, PO-based are superior to EO-based. Interpretation of these observations included the effect of structure on the following properties: surface activity, mass transfer rate, H-bonding, and molecule packing.

The main currents of research on ambidexterity in the context of organisational security with emphasis on the role of network links are indicated. The hypothesis that ambidexterity, using governance mechanisms, can support the functioning of an organisation in both strategic and operational perspectives in the face of unexpected extreme turbulence in the environment related to the environmental factor is substantiated. This implies, on the one hand, the need to prepare a strategy of resistance and resilience and, on the other hand, a readiness for ad hoc behaviour. Ambidexterity was considered in the context of cooperation with partners, with a view to accessing certain own and partners’ resources in a crisis situation. In an ecological context, the influence of ambidexterity on the continuous improvement of the organisation’s performance was discussed, paying attention to the simultaneous efforts for radical change based on innovative actions, starting from the assumption of sustainability, in cooperation with stakeholders. A review of the concept of ambidexterity in relation to the issue of organisational security was conducted based on a critical analysis of the literature on the subject. A research gap related to this area was identified. The aim of the study was to identify opportunities for the use of ambidexterity in organisations in emergency situations.

The mathematics and biology are the interdisciplinary approaches in the field of scientific research. Both, mathematics and biology deserve a wide range of applications. Mathematical biology or biomathematics is the study of mathematics for biology. One can derive the quantitative genetics through consideration of infinitesimal effects at a large number of gene loci, together with the assumption of linkage equilibrium or quasi-linkage equilibrium. Ronald Fisher made the intensive work on fundamental advances in statistics (Example: Analysis of Variance). This achievement by Ronald Fisher was through his work on quantitative genetics. The phylogenetics is one more important branch of population genetics that led to the extensive development of Biological sciences through Mathematics. The Phylogenetics is the branch dealing with the reconstruction and analysis of phylogenetic (evolutionary) trees and network based on inherited characteristics. Assumptions on the “Constant Population Size” belongs to many “Population Genetics” models. The population dynamics is treating the “Variable Population Size” as absence of genetic variation. History of such type of work goes back to the 19th century. Even as far as 1798. In 1798, Thomas Malthus formulated the first principle of population dynamics. This principle later became popularize as the “Malthusian Growth Model”. Alfred J. Lotka, in 1910 proposed the model of autocatalytic chemical reactions. Vito Volterra tried his best to extend this work and titled as “Lotka - Volterra Predator-Prey Equations”. Basically, Vito Volterra was Mathematician. The mathematical epidemiology is the study of infectious disease affecting populations. Upto some extent, the “Population dynamics” use to overlaps mathematical epidemiology. The mathematics and Biology, both are serving a lot to orchestrate the progression of the global research.

The cleaning of a surface is monitored in real time using a number of physical measurements. In particular an electrochemically inactive material is removed from an electrode while the electrode is able to detect a redox system in the bulk liquid. The removal of the material from the surface is monitored as an increased Faradaic current at the electrode surface. This signal is used to assess the ability of the cleaning method employed, in this case the application of power ultrasound to the system, as a function of the position of the electrode with respect to the sound source. It is shown that, depending on the conditions employed, surface cleaning is driven by different mechanisms. In order to validate these findings highspeed imaging of the system was undertaken and the results correlated with the electrochemical data. In addition a number of novel electrodes were also employed to assess the cleaning efficiency as a function of the electrode geometry employed. Implications for surface cleaning in the presence of power ultrasound are suggested.

Aim. The article is aimed at proving the hypothesis that there are significant correlations between the defense mechanisms and the perception of time perspective in young people under the conditions of war. Methods. The study was held in May 2022 with the involvement of students who were relocated to the west of Ukraine from the eastern regions due to active hostilities. The following research methods were used: survey; psychological testing (Life Style Index, Zimbardo Time Perspective Inventory); statistic analysis. Results. The study shows that the most common defense mechanisms of young people during the war are: repression, projection and displacement. At the same time, men use the defense mechanism of projection more often than women, and women are more prone to regression. It is determined that young people during the war are the least oriented towards the future. Also, there are very few who would perceive the past negatively. Conclusion. The data obtained during the research indicate the need to develop a program of psychological support for young people during the war, which would allow: to develop awareness of one's own experiences, defense mechanisms, ways of ecologically living through traumatic experience; to form a healthier attitude to time, which would include planning for the future at least for the short term and would contribute to increasing motivation for life and self-development.

The origin of the radiation chemistry history is contemporary with the X-rays and uranic rays discoveries. The complexity of the phenomena induced by the radiation effects, which involve electrons, ions and free radicals and a specific spatial distribution of the energy deposit along the tracks, was progressively understood, particularly when pulse radiolysis and time-resolved detection permitted to observe the short-lived transient species and to explain the chemical or biochemical mechanims. This short review summarizes the most important landmarks of the concepts and their applications.

In hot forging process, tool life is an important factor which influences the economy of production. Wear mechanisms in these processes are dependent on each other, so modeling of them is a difficult problem. The present research is focused on development of a hybrid tool wear model for hot forging processes and evaluation of adding adhesive mechanism component to this model. Although adhesive wear is dominant in cases, in which sliding distances are large, there is a group of hot forging processes, in which adhesion is an important factor in specific tool parts. In the paper, a proposed hybrid tool wear model has been described and various adhesive wear models have been reviewed. The feasible model has been chosen, adapted and implemented. It has been shown that adding adhesive wear model increases predictive capabilities of the global hybrid tool wear model as far as characteristic hot forging processes is considered.
