    This paper presents an attempt to formalize the concept of the Triple Helix of university-government-industry interactions as a prototype of an innovation ecosystem. Such a formalization is based on game theory principles, methods and models, as well as the methods and instruments of the theory of optimal allocation of resources. The constructed game-theoretic model simulates the phases of R&D, the implementation and commercialization of a new project, as well as the risks and uncertainty in each of these innovation stages.

    Opis:
    The ability to build and manage a knowledge transfer partnership is one of the most highly demanded skills. Knowledge is widely dispersed, so it should be acquired from the environment. For this purpose, partnerships should be established with different entities. Presumably, the most mature type of partnership is the innovation ecosystem. Hence empirical research was conducted among Poland’s Grupa Azoty (GA) Puławy's consortium members based on an in-depth, partially structured interview, supported by an analysis of several innovation ecosystems of chemical companies. The aim of the research was to assess the phenomenon of open innovations in the GA along with the characteristics of the selection of partners, cooperation strategies and declared resources for jointly implemented projects.
    Umiejętność budowania i zarządzania partnerstwem w transferze wiedzy jest jedną z najbardziej pożądanych umiejętności nowoczesnych organizacji. Wiedza jest szeroko rozproszona, tak więc należy pozyskiwać ją z otoczenia a niewykorzystywaną przez organizację udostępniać innym. W tym celu należy zawiązywać współpracę partnerską z różnymi podmiotami nie tylko z sektora biznesu, ale również z sektora organizacji publicznych i non profit. Można przyjąć, że najbardziej dojrzałym rodzajem partnerstwa jest ekosystem innowacji. Niewielu jeszcze ludzi nauki w Polsce podejmowało temat partnerstwa w zarzadzaniu innowacjami stąd też postanowiono przeprowadzić badania empiryczne wśród konsorcjantów Grupy Azoty Puławy w oparciu o wywiad pogłębiony, częściowo ustrukturyzowany, wsparty analizą kilku wybranych ekosystemów innowacji koncernów chemicznych. Celem badań była ocena zjawiska otwartych innowacji w Grupie wraz z charakterystyką doboru partnerów, strategii współpracy oraz deklarowanych zasobów do wspólnie realizowanych projektów.

    Opis:
    Israel is perceived in the international environment as one of the top leaders in innovation. This is proven by the progressively high position of this country in international rankings and the participation of Israeli scientists and technologists in prestigious international programs. In this article, we claim that the aims of Israeli innovation policy, which has the biggest impact on the shape and content of the innovation ecosystem, are highly politicized. The status quo driven by the key assumption of the state strategy, according to which obtaining a competitive predominance in the political international environment will be achieved through economic instruments, primarily technological innovation. Therefore the aim of this article is to critically analyze Israeli innovation policy and the innovation ecosystem, paying special attention to the state interest and the government activities in this realm. For the purpose of this analysis, some basic assumptions of the neoliberal economy redefined by Arie Krampf will be utilized. Furthermore, to better describe and explain the link between politics and economy in the Israeli innovation ecosystem we will refer to the K.N. Waltz considerations on mechanisms of the political and economic system in a globalizing world.

    Purpose: The key driver to discuss the topic is a research gap as regards the management of SPEs and TTCs in the innovation ecosystem. Design/methodology/approach: The article discusses a university innovation ecosystem in Poland. It also provides a comparative analysis of the functional management models in the innovation ecosystem with the coexistence of TTCs and SPEs with: 1) separated management functions, and 2) a personal union, i.e. the same person managing TTC and SPE. The following research methods have been used: a participatory observation, a focus group discussion to analyse the collected research material and draw conclusions. Findings: The article presents major benefits and risks for TTCs and SPEs, benefits and risks that are related to specific management models applied in entities responsible for technology transfer and commercialization. It is not possible to indicate which of the two TTC and SPE management models is better or more efficient, since advantages can be achieved with both of the models, provided specific conditions are met. Those advantages are mainly related to the cooperation with the social and business environment of a university. Research limitations/implications: The recommendations contribute to a further discussion on the role of TTCs and SPEs and their relations in the innovation ecosystem, as well as efficient management and assessment of technology transfer institutions. Practical implications: The article provides recommendations for dealing with those risks in each of models identified. Originality/value: The article fills a research gap as regards the management of SPEs and TTCs in the innovation ecosystem.

    Georgia, despite the country's specific and complex geostrategic position, continually tense political environment, diverse views on economic development among its society and many other issues, nevertheless resolutely strives towards an overarching national idea: liberation from Russian occupation, unification of the country, formation of a knowledge economy and European integration. Crucial for this idea is economic development, which in turn hinges in part on innovation. The pace and scale of innovation are shaped primarily by scientific research and entrepreneurial achievements. Robust economic development therefore requires universities to increase entrepreneurship and initiate change in the areas of science, technology development, and new technology startup support in economic and social terms. In this article, we examine the strong relationship between the development of an appropriate ecosystem for start-ups and support for the process of new business formation in Georgia. Academic centers form one of the essential components of the ecosystem for start-ups in Georgia; their development guarantees access to knowledge and the ability to manage entrepreneurship, and the development of new companies, including innovative ones.

    The article presents the study that mainly focused on the changes made as a result of collaborative innovations in business relationships developed during the period of digitalisation in the construction field of the Russian Federation. It is a conceptual piece of work based on the systematic approach to the analysis, literature review and comparative analysis. The digitalisation of investment and construction projects is technologically based on the integration of solutions, such as the building information model (BIM), high-performance IT-systems, cloud platforms and the Internet-of-Things, resulting in unified and constant connectivity, specialised mobile applications, robotic equipment, unmanned vehicles, additive technologies, AR/VR services for the analysis of Big-Data, and blockchain technologies. The integration of digital technologies is a radical innovation, which highlights collaborative innovations in business relationships and makes it possible to form a united digital ecosystem that allows firms to manage, control and regulate the full lifecycle of a construction project, and then, the property in real-time. The contribution of this work to the construction field is the offered model for the creation of a digital ecosystem and the described role of the government in the model. Also, this work can be used for the integration of BIM technologies in construction companies.
