Implementacja idei zrównoważonego rozwoju staje się dla współczesnych przedsiębiorstw jednym z kluczowych wyzwań. Odpowiedzią na to wyzwanie jest rozwój koncepcji zrównoważonego przywództwa. Celem niniejszego opracowania jest udzielenie odpowiedzi na pytanie, czym jest zrównoważone przywództwo oraz na jakich poziomach może być badane. Na potrzeby realizacji przyjętego celu dokonano analizy literatury przedmiotu przy zastosowaniu metody narracyjnego przeglądu literatury. Badania literaturowe doprowadziły do wniosku, że zrównoważone przywództwo jest odpowiedzią na potrzebę wdrażania idei zrównoważonego rozwoju i stanowi system, którego poszczególne elementy dążą do realizacji wspólnego celu, jakim jest zrównoważony rozwój. Koncepcję zrównoważonego przywództwa można analizować na trzech poziomach: jednostki, organizacji oraz otoczenia.
Implementation of the concept of sustainability is becoming one of the key challenges for modern companies. The answer to this challenge is the development of the concept of sustainable leadership. The purpose of this study is to answer the question of what sustainable leadership is and at what levels it can be studied. For the purpose of the adopted goal, an analysis of the literature on the subject was carried out using the method of narrative literature review. The literature research led to the conclusion that sustainable leadership is a response to the need to implement the idea of sustainable development, and is a system whose individual elements strive to achieve the common goal of sustainable development. The concept of sustainable leadership can be analyzed at three levels: the level of the individual, the organization, and the environment.

The creation of sustainable science was inspired by a conception of sustainable development which tends towards achieving not only economical but also ecological and social goals. The enterprises with such goals are called sustainable enterprises. Their activity is determined by sustainable management which also includes human resource management. The human resources play the most important role in the process of transformation of the enterprises into sustainable organizations. Sustainable personnel, which consists of highly qualified employees who know and realize the principles of sustainable development, is the most valuable part of the staff. It includes the managers who point out the directions of enterprise activity as well as common employees who realize their decisions on the work places. Manufacturing of safe and healthy products and services in the processes of clear production is the main idea of the personnel activity. In the face of increasing ecological and social problems, sustainable personnel is particularly predestined to lead the business effectively to the path of long-term equilibrium of intergenerational needs.

Artykuł jest wynikiem badania wykonanego na próbie 400 polskich przedsiębiorstw zajmujących się produkcją towarów i usług. Celem badania była analiza potencjału, jaki modele biznesowe obiegu zamkniętego tworzą dla rozwoju przedsiębiorstw, zwłaszcza w kontekście wyzwań rozwoju zrównoważonego. W artykule dokonano oceny praktyk gospodarki obiegu zamkniętego wśród polskich przedsiębiorstw, wskazując na różnice w opiniach na temat ich wpływu na działalność gospodarczą. Dostrzegając korzyści, takie jak redukcja kosztów i zwiększona konkurencyjność, dwie trzecie zbadanych firm nie inwestuje w rozwiązania cyrkularne, głównie ze względu na postrzegane przeszkody inwestycyjne. Ponadto prawie połowa z nich nie posiada celów strategicznych w zakresie gospodarki odpadami, co wskazuje na potrzebę większej świadomości i strategicznej integracji zasad obiegu zamkniętego. W badaniu zauważono również ogólny brak uznania modeli gospodarki obiegu zamkniętego jako przewagi konkurencyjnej, a dodatkowo niewiele przedsiębiorstw wskazano jako wzorce do naśladowania. Sugeruje to rozbieżność między uznaniem korzyści wynikających z gospodarki obiegu zamkniętego a faktycznym wdrożeniem, co podkreśla potencjał zachęt finansowych sprzyjających przyjęciu tej gospodarki.
The article is the result of the research conducted on a sample of 400 Polish enterprises offering products and services. The aim of the research was to assess the potential of circular economy business models for the development of enterprises, in particular, in the context of sustainable development challenges. In the article the assessment was made of circular economy practices among the selected Polish enterprises, pointing out the differences in perceiving their impact on business operations. Acknowledging the benefits such as lower costs and higher competitiveness, two thirds of the enterprises under study do not invest in circular economy solutions, mainly due to perceived investment obstacles. Moreover, almost half of them do not have strategic goals regarding waste management, indicating the need for greater awareness and strategic integration of circular economy principles. The study also noted a general lack of recognition of circular economy models as a competitive advantage, and few enterprises were identified as role models. This suggests a discrepancy between recognizing the benefits of the circular economy and its actual implementation. What underlines the potential of financial incentives for adopting this kind of economy.

The main purpose of this paper is to show a statistical evaluation of the sustainable development issues at the transport enterprises level. Initial considerations are devoted to the discussion of theoretical issues related to sustainable development businesses. The main part of the article is devoted to the statistical analysis of the sustainable development of Polish transport companies. The results of the study made it possible to assess that the sustainable development of transport companies in 2009-2015 takes place. This development is more rapid compared to the average development of the entire enterprise sector. The average level of the indicator of sustainable development of transport enterprises in the whole analysed period it amounted to 0.89. At the same time, it should be noted that economic development is accompanied by improvement of conditions and quality of work and reduction of negative impact on natural resources.

The interest in the concept of sustainable development is a form of a scientific response to the challenges of transforming economies, growing expectations of local communities and societies and environmental degradation. Despite numerous definitions of sustainable development, the literature lacks a widely recognised definition of an entity that operates in a sustainable way – a sustainable enterprise. The literature review identified two definition gaps: 1) the lack of defined boundaries within which a company must operate in order to be called sustainable, and 2) the lack of a definition of the relationship between the areas in which sustainability is assessed. The authors of the article propose a new definition of a sustainable enterprise. Moreover, they give examples of organisations that, although in a selected area they carry out sustainable activities, they cannot be called sustainable.

Nowadays, in order to ensure high quality of municipal services, and thus a high quality of life for the local community, the authorities of both the basic local government unit and managers of municipal enterprises must strive to maintain high standards of sustainable development. The main purpose of the article analyses the stability of sustainable development of the enterprise and determines the approaches to the interpretation of this concept. The article deals with the concept of sustainable development (SD) management and conditions to achieve SD of an industrial enterprise. The structure of sustainability management is presented. It is proved that organizational structure of management is the basis for assessing the effectiveness of the SD of an enterprise. It is shown that to assess the effectiveness of the management of SD of the enterprise, there should be indicators used characterizing the level of manageability and the growth level of the organizational management structure. It is shown that with the help of an indicator like the manageability level, it is possible to determine the stability boundaries of an enterprise.

Końcowe rozważania zawierają próbę wkomponowania IT w strategię zrównoważonego rozwoju organizacji
Sustainable enterprise development defines quantitative and qualitative changes aimed at coincidence implementation of economic, social and environmental goals. It requires a long-term approach to managing the organization and the use of appropriate tools, technologies and equipment. An important element of the sustainable development at enterprise level are modern information technologies that affect the efficiency of enterprises and enable the implementation of pro-ecological innovations. Initial considerations are devoted to a brief discussion of the basic issues related to sustainable development at enterprise level, then the role of IT solutions for enterprise development. The final considerations include an attempt to integrate IT into the organization's sustainable development strategy.

The analysis of logistics costs in agricultural enterprises in process aspect was carried out in the paper. The aim of the research was to identify those process activities, in which the optimization of logistics costs can influence the realization of strategic aims of sustainable development. As a result of the research, some indexes of logistics costs for agricultural enterprises were estimated. Also, the differences among the costs, depending on the area shape and used technologies, were shown in the paper.
W pracy dokonano analizy kosztów logistyki w przedsiębiorstwach rolniczych w ujęciu procesualnym. Celem badań było zidentyfikowanie tych działań procesowych, w których optymalizowanie kosztów logistyki może wpłynąć na realizację strategicznych celów zrównoważonego rozwoju. W wyniku przeprowadzonych badań ustalono wiele wskaźników kosztów logistyki dla przedsiębiorstw rolniczych, a także wykazano zróżnicowanie w tychże kosztach w zależności od rozłogu i stosowanych technologii.

W artykule przedstawiono zagadnienia zrównoważonego rozwoju w kontekście gospodarki opartej na wiedzy. Korzystając z danych statystycznych oceniono wartość potencjału społecznego pod względem wykształcenia i posiadanych umiejętności. Dodatkowo nawiązano do krajowych ram kwalifikacji, które mają stworzyć nowy obraz szkolnictwa wyższego. W ostatniej części artykułu zaprezentowano ogólny model interpretacji kapitału intelektualnego przedsiębiorstwa w odniesieniu do idei zrównoważonego rozwoju biznesu.
The article presents some problems of sustainable economy in the context of knowledge development. On the base of statistic data the value of social capital was estimated with regard to education and skill. Moreover domestic frame of skill in higher education were characterized. The frame creates the basic for new image of our higher education. Last part of article is connected with sustainable model of business in which the intellectual capital is the key element.

To be successful strategic thinking from SMEs is required, they have to give appropriate answers to the changes that fit and serve the sustainable economy. It is characteristic that SMEs concentrate mainly on surviving and on daily stability, yet – despite of the frequently mentioned idea – they realize the necessity of renewal, and they are fond of innovation. The question arose: what kind of business model do we need. Future means that the reappraisal of the values based on trust, reallocation of resources, social relationships, restructuring factors of production, localization, reuse and recycling must be implemented in business strategies, showing the direction of innovation. It is important to define the role and place of the SMEs in innovation process in the context of de-growth, like innovation – imitation. Synthesis – open innovation, observation and adaptation of best practices, cooperation based on trust, participation in strategic partnerships. In the study messages of sustainable economy and ‘degrowth’ is summarized. Answers are being looked for the question: what kind of behavior and strategies are appropriate for the SMEs for successful renewal.
W artykule podjęto próbę określenia roli i znaczenia teorii postwzrostu w procesach zrównoważonego rozwoju. Poszukuje się odpowiedzi na pytanie: jakie zachowania i strategie są odpowiednie dla MŚ P w celu skutecznego rozwoju. Firmy z sektora MŚ P muszą tak jak wszystkie podmioty gospodarcze, adoptować się do zmieniających się warunków otoczenia nie tylko by przetrwać, ale także, aby rozwijać się. Jednak z jedną z charakterystycznych cech przedsiębiorstw tego sektora jest nastawienie się na przetrwanie i względna stabilność funkcjonowania. Mają one także świadomość potrzeby rozwoju i wdrażania innowacji, lecz w zdecydowanie mniejszej skali. Pojawia się pytanie: jaki model biznesu jest obecnie potrzebny. Przyszłość oznacza ponowne oszacowanie wartości opartych na zaufaniu, realokacji zasobów, relacjach społecznych, restrukturyzacji czynników produkcji, lokalizacji, ponownego wykorzystania w strategiach biznesowych, wskazując kierunek innowacji. Ważne jest określenie roli i miejsca firm z sektora MŚ P w procesie innowacji w kontekście postwzrostu (degrowth), podobnie jak wskazanie kierunków wdrażania innowacji. Ważne jest określenie roli firm MŚ P w implementacji innowacji. Istotne jest także zwrócenie uwagi na otwarte innowacje, obserwacja i adaptacja najlepszych praktyk, współpraca oparta na zaufaniu, udział w strategicznych partnerstwach.

W artykule przedstawiono koncepcję funkcjonowania przedsiębiorstw zgodnie z zasadami zrównoważonego rozwoju. Przedstawiono istotę zrównoważonego rozwoju jako sposobu na ograniczenie destrukcyjnej działalności gospodarczej przedsiębiorstw. Wskazano na społeczne i ekologiczne problemy, przed jakimi stoją współczesne przedsiębiorstwa produkcyjne. Określono wpływ zrównoważonego rozwoju na działalności biznesową przedsiębiorstw. Zaprezentowano koncepcję zrównoważonego marketingu przedsiębiorstw.
The article presents the concept of operation of enterprises in accordance with the principles of sustainable development. Presents the essence of sustainable development as a way to limit the destructive economic activities of enterprises. Pointed to the social and environmental problems facing modern manufacturing enterprises. The influence of the sustainable development activities of business enterprises. Presented the concept of sustainable marketing companies.

Opis:
Enterprises publish their sustainable development reports mainly to develop the image of the company and with a clear purpose to gain specific economic, social and environmental benefits. However, it is worth to draw attention to the fact that these reports represent also a value for education especially that one of the main target groups of these reports is the scientific community. These reports may find application for the education purposes mainly as a material to analyse the strategies and development goals adopted by companies, achieved economic, social and environmental effects, applied methods for measuring sustainable development and comparison with other companies.
