    As a result of rapid technological development, new forms of musical performance have emerged, connecting people from all over the world into large, virtual communities. Digital forms of communication have also created the need for adapting ethnographical research tools along with the specificity of new media and redefining traditional terms such as ‘field’ and ‘community’. The article presents selected issues of online ethnography referring to the phenomenon of virtual choirs. It also describes and classifies online musical initiatives, indicating perspectives for further studies.

    This article examines the method of virtual ethnography – or “netnography” – as used by scholars of organization and management studies. It describes the main problems organizational anthropologists may face when conducting research online. The issues discussed include cultural heterogeneity of virtual communities, the non-fundamental differences of virtual ethnography and ethnography, specifics of interactions, nativity, problems of observation, trouble with anthropological reflexivity, as well as the topics of trust and identity enactment.

    The Lemkos are an antagonized internally ethnic minority. The beginning of the division dates back to midnineteenth century, when almost simultaneously began to form the Ukrainian national identity and the Lemko separatism. It is also explicitly on the basis of the Lemko organizations created on the wave of democratic changes in Poland. Using of virtual ethnography methodology to analyze the content of websites of three of them: the Lemko Association, the Lemkos Federation and the Association of Ruska Bursa in Gorlice enables to capture significant, not shown explicitly, the differences in outlook, orientation of identity, construction of arguments, embarking strategy, the language used to simultaneous reference to the common universe – the Lemko Land. The Lemko Federation promoting Ukrainian national identity and the Lemko identity is recognized in terms of the regional identity. Two other one associate people with Lemko identity, emphasizing membership to the group of Carpatho-Rusyns. In their e-transmission they show a background of internal conflicts, formulate evaluative judgments and reveal strong emotions.

    Już pierwsze etnografie społeczności internetowych realizowały narracyjny model opowieści o osobistym doświadczeniu. Dziś to podejście nadal reprezentuje wielu badaczy cyberkultury, coraz częściej uprawiających autoetnografię metodologicznie świadomą i intencjonalnie wpisaną w korpus technik etnograficznych. Artykuł przedstawia charakterystykę, historię i dorobek tak rozumianej autoetnografii Internetu – umocowanej teoretycznie i metodologicznie w tradycji jakościowych badań społecznych, poszukującej równowagi między emic i etic w narracyjnej warstwie tekstu etnograficznego i stawiającej w centrum swojego zainteresowania relację pomiędzy podmiotem a przedmiotem badania.
    Even the very first ethnographies of internet-based communities have accomplished a narrative model of personal experience story. Today, this attitude is still represented by many researchers. They cultivate autoethnographical methodology more frequently, consciously, and intentionally incorporating it into ethnographic techniques corpus. The article introduces profile, history, and attainments of regarded as such internet-based autoethnography – theoretically and methodologically grounded in qualitative social research, seeking balance between emic and etic in a narrative layer of ethnographic text, and focused on relation between subject and object of the research.

    The paper presents the ethnography of virtual phenomena and processes, conducted in the social, educational and cultural spheres of the Internet.     The article endeavours to describe the COVID-19 reality through the lens of a topos of European culture, locus horridus. In analysing and interpreting online news about crimes with the coronavirus either in the foreground or the background, the author checks whether elements of the locus horridus topos have kept pace with the modern day and whether the pandemic has evoked mythical thinking. He presents a typology of pandemic banditry fit for the Olsen Gang, imbued with humour, comedy and cabaret.

    Przedmiotem rozważań podjętych w artykule jest dieta roślinna, której praktykowanie w kulturze współczesnej uwikłane jest silnie w projekty tożsamościowe i światopoglądowe oraz działania na rzecz zmian życia społecznego i kultury jedzenia. Autorka, wykorzystując metodę etnografii wirtualnej i analizę dyskursu, poddaje szczegółowej analizie dyskurs kulinarny, służący wzajemnej komunikacji zwolenników diety roślinnej w przestrzeni polskojęzycznego portalu społecznościowego (Facebook). Tego rodzaju analiza dyskursu służy pokazaniu specyfiki współczesnej diety roślinnej, ale także ukazaniu uwikłania interesujących autorkę praktyk kulinarnych w światopoglądowo zaangażowane działania proekologiczne, gospodarcze i polityczne. Dieta roślinna pojawia się zatem w przedstawionej analizie w szczegółowym kontekście społecznym i środowiskowym, zachowując swoją kulinarną specyfikę i autonomię, ale jednocześnie obrazując ważne procesy aktualnych przemian kulturowych w Polsce.
    The subject of the considerations undertaken in the article is the plant-based diet, the practice of which in the contemporary culture is strongly entangled in identity and world-view projects and actions to change social life and food culture. The author, using the method of virtual ethnography and discourse analysis, examines in detail the culinary discourse used for mutual communication of the supporters of the plant-based diet in the space of a Polish social networking site (Facebook). Such an analysis of the discourse serves to show the specificity of the modern plant-based diet, but also to show the involvement of the author’s interesting culinary practices in world-oriented pro-ecological, economic and political activities. Thus, the plant-based diet appears in the presented analysis in a detailed social and environmental context, preserving its culinary specificity and autonomy, but at the same time illustrating important processes of current cultural changes in Poland.

    The monumental work, exhibited from May 21 to August 30, 2021, at a pres tigious British cultural institution, was favoured by its own daily arrangement - of the planets. The National Gallery and the Polish Cultural Institute in London, with the support of The Capricorn Foundation and the „Independent” Programme Office, made the right decision to present to guests in Trafalgar Square outstanding artists from outside Great Britain, whose work deserves to be discovered and shown to an international, wide audience. The organizers of the exhibition wrote, that telling about a forgotten piece of Polish art, Polish heritage, must begin with Matejko. The temporary exhibition was celebrated two eminent Poles: Nicolaus Copernicus, a Renaissance astronomer, creating a completely new, real truth about the arrangement of the cosmos, and Jan Matejko, the most outstanding and widely valued painter, who shared creative genius and passion for science. This amazing order of the world and the discovery of the real sky not only raised the hope of man, who could reach the farthest corners of the vast universe with his own mind, which became a contribution to the admiration of Polish historical painting and an excellent idea for expression among students of Polish schools. Growing curiosity and a pretext for reflection and discussion around Copernicus’ work De revolutionibus orbium coelestium, were briefly but accurately published in the media, in the press and recommended on television. The author, being an active and passive member of the researched community, analysed both honourable and exciting events using virtual ethnography.
