Opis:
The magnetization processes in amorphous and nanocrystalline FINEMET ribbons were studied by the numerical decomposition of the quasi-static hysteresis loop to the contributions of the domain wall movement, the domain rotations, and the domain wall annihilation and nucleation processes following the hyperbolic T(x) model of hysteresis. The hysteresis data measured during decrease of the excitation magnetic field were used for the separation of these processes. The significant differences in behavior of these two materials were found. In amorphous state the domain rotations component dominates whereas in nanocrystalline state the domain wall movement component prevails. These differences are reflected in the anisotropy field distributions as well.

The paper focuses on the estimation techniques for a low-dimensional phenomenological model of ferromagnetic hysteresis proposed by the Brazilian research group GRUCAD. The description is expressed with an ordinary differential equation and some auxiliary relationships. It describes both irreversible and reversible magnetization processes and addresses some problems inherent in the well-known Jiles-Atherton model. It is found that the differential evolution method is the most competitive technique for recovery of optimal model parameters.

Opis:
This paper presents a method of fitting the magnetic hysteresis curves using a calculating algorithm within a computer programme. The calculating programme uses the equations of the Jiles-Atherton model to simulate the M(H) magnetization curve. The aim of this program is to find the values of the parameters which are part of the Jiles-Atherton model once the regression curve for a major magnetization curve obtained experimentally is found. The values of these parameters can be increased or decreased gradually. The parameters modification takes place in such a way that the root mean square deviation between the points of the two graphs, also experimentally simulated, should decrease gradually and, in the end, it should be found below the preestablished percentage value in comparison to the previous value. The procedure for minimizing the root mean square deviation has as a result the fact that the simulated curve represents the regression curve. The calculating programme considers a second method of calculating the values of the parameters by using the already found regression curve. This paper also presents the values of the Jiles-Atherton model parameters obtained by fitting the magnetization curves of several cobalt ferrites samples, sintered at different temperatures.

Samples of amorphous and nanocrystalline alloys were prepared by proper annealing of the metallic glasses: Fe$\text{}_{73.5}$Cu$\text{}_{1}$Nb$\text{}_{3}$Si$\text{}_{13.5}$B$\text{}_{9}$ and Fe$\text{}_{73.5}$Cu$\text{}_{1}$Nb$\text{}_{3}$Si $\text{}_{17.5}$B$\text{}_{5}$. Magnetic hardening of the alloys at the onset of crystallization was studied by the two independent techniques, i.e. measurements of the magnetization hysteresis loops and Barkhausen effect. A good correlation between the coercivity and the maximum power of the Barkhausen noise has been found in these two compositions of the alloys.

LaFeCoSi alloys have attracted much attention as they exhibit magnetocaloric effect in near room temperature. The paper focuses on the description of anhysteretic curve for LaFeCoSi alloy for temperatures close to transition point. For this purpose the Langevin function is applied. The paper confirms that the Langevin function might be a good starting point for development of analytical models aimed at examination of magnetic properties in La-based magnetocaloric materials.

A simple feedback loop and a mean-field approximation are employed to simulate the memory effect in the exchange-coupled magnetic system. The nonlinearity of the feedback turns out to be the crucial factor for the appearance of hysteresis loops. A threshold value above which the hysteresis disappears is the mean-field transition temperature. Temperature dependence of the coercive field is investigated.

Residual stresses occurring in drawn wires due to technological process affect their quality, which in turn may have a substantial impact on safety of use and "life" of ready-made products. Measurements of magnetic properties of the wires like coercive field strength may be useful for monitoring the level of residual stresses. The present paper examines the relationship between the drawing speed and the coercive field strength in high carbon wires. It has been found that for drawing speeds not exceeding 20 m/s the coercive field strength is proportional to residual stresses on wire surface.

Paper presents the possibility of application of the Jiles-Atherton extended model to describe the magnetic characteristics of construction steel C45 under the influence of tensile stresses. Experiment was performed on the frame-shaped samples. Then, the influence of stresses on hysteresis loops was modelled with the Jiles-Atherton extended model. The obtained results of the modelling are consistent with results of the experimental measurements. The results of modelling create new possibilities of explanation of the physical phenomena connected with magnetisation of the magnetic materials under stresses, which is esential for the assessment of the state of the construction steel during its exploitation in industrial conditions.

A novel description of hysteresis phenomenon is presented. The examined description emphasizes the roles of bistability and quantum phenomena as processes responsible for hysteresis loop formation in magnetic materials. Major and symmetric minor hysteresis loops are modelled in chosen soft magnetic materials using the Harrison model. A reasonable agreement between theory and experiment is achieved.

Soft magnetic composites are readily used in the design of electromagnetic converters and electrical machines. In the paper, the magnetic properties of "home-made" cores made of iron powder and suspense polyvinyl chloride are examined. Samples were prepared by hot pressing of a PVC/Fe powder mixture with a different ratio of constituent components. Phase composition was investigated using an X-ray diffractometer and the presence of α-Fe was detected. Measurements of magnetic permeability revealed its allometric decrease with an increase of PVC content in composite. For the description of magnetization curves the phenomenological Jiles-Atherton model is used. The results of simulations are in a qualitative agreement with experiment.

Magnetic properties of polycrystalline multiferroic $Bi_{0.65}La_{0.35}Fe_{0.5}Sc_{0.5}O_3$ synthesized under high-pressure (6 GPa) and high-temperature (1500 K) conditions were studied using a SQUID magnetometer technique. The temperature dependent static magnetic moment M was measured in both zero-field-cooled and field-cooled modes over the temperature range of 5-300 K in low magnetic field H=0.02 kOe. The field dependent magnetization M(H) was measured in magnetic fields up to 50 kOe at different temperatures up to 230 K after zero-field cooling procedure. A long-range magnetic ordering of the antiferromagnetic type with a weak ferromagnetic contribution takes place below $T_{N} ≈ 220 K$. Magnetic hysteresis loops taken below $T_{N}$ show a huge coercive field up to $H_{c}$ ≈10 kOe, while the magnetic moment does not saturate up to 50 kOe. A strong effect of magnetic field on the magnetic properties of the compound has been found. Below $T_{N}$ ≈220 K the derivatives of the initial magnetization curves demonstrate the existence of a temperature-dependent anomaly in fields of H=15÷25 kOe. The nature of the anomaly is unknown and requires additional study.

The validity of the Steinmetz law $(P=K B^{n})$ has been analyzed using the tanh model, by splitting the minor loops in three or two components, corresponding to different magnetization processes at different excitation levels. It is shown that the original Steinmetz law with the exponent n=1.6 is valid only at and above the coercive field, for intermediate and high induction values, where all the three magnetization processes are present. At small magnetization levels the exponent is about 3, much higher than the original proposed value.

A new experimental method for the study of closure domain structure dynamics in bistable ferromagnetic microwires is proposed. The simple experimental set-up enables detection of the presence of a free domain wall in the wire after application of a well-defined rectangular magnetic field pulse. The changes in closure domain structure dynamics, caused by applied tensile stress, are demonstrated by measurements on $Fe_{77.5}B_{15}Si_{7.5}$ glass-coated microwire. Minimum critical field for the release of a domain wall from the closure domain structure increases with increasing stress, while on the other hand, the minimum time needed for this process rapidly decreases with increasing stress.

Opis:
This paper is devoted to studies of the structural and magnetic properties of Co_2FeSi Heusler alloy produced by arc melting resulting in samples with large grains compared to finer-grained ribbon type samples prepared by planar flow casting. The scanning electron microscopy completed by energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy, X-ray diffraction, and magnetic methods sensitive to both bulk and surface were applied. The chemical composition inside the grains was found to be in agreement with the nominal one while at the grain boundaries enrichment on Co and Si at expense of Fe was observed. The magnetic parameters derived from the bulk hysteresis curves resulted in nearly the same values of coercivity, about 1 kA/m, for both technological procedures while magnetization was of about 15 A m²/kg higher at ribbons compared with sample prepared by arc melting, 145 A m²/kg. The surface magnetic characteristics were visibly influenced by a surface magnetic anisotropy. The smooth polished surface of the sample prepared by arc melting has allowed visualizing the magnetic domain structure inside the grains and at grain boundaries by the magneto-optical Kerr microscopy and magnetic force microscopy.
