This paper introduces Postermywall and presents three lesson plans that integrate the technology based on the relevant literature and the International Society for Technology in Education standards to support English language learning and practice students’ communication and creativity. Specifically designed for an English as a Foreign Language writing and speaking class, the lesson plans also hope to interest language teachers and educational practitioners looking for user-friendly technology to integrate into their lessons and ways to engage students in technology-based language learning activities. Recommendations to optimize the lesson plans are presented.

Opis:
Mobile Assisted Language Learning (MALL) is one of the fastest growing ELT sectors. To date, the teaching methods of MALL appear overly influenced by the desires of businesses, large institutions and technicians to produce easily measurable outcomes, rather than foundations built on upon pedagogical research that emphasises the importance of developing the communicative competence of learners. Findings from initial studies on MALL indicate not only the feasibility of using mobile devices for communicative purposes within classroom teaching, but also the opportunities they provide to implement a communicative approach more successfully than previously possible. Outworkings of this potential need to be established while the development of MALL remains at the “work in progress” stage.

Opis:
The purpose of this study is to examine the effect of Flipped Classroom Instruction (FCI) on Iraqi EFL learners’ writing skills. Participants included 66 students in the College of Languages English Department at Salahaddin University. The study employed a mixed method of data collection, utilizing pre-and post-writing tests as well as a questionnaire for both groups and interviews conducted with the experimental group. Findings indicated that a statistically significant difference existed between the control and experimental groups and, more specifically, the students of the experimental group performed better on the writing tests than the students of the control group. The majority of the learners’ attitudes towards FCI were positive.

Opis:
Our paper focuses on the implementation of the flipped classroom model with the students of the subject ICT for EFL teaching and learning at a Spanish university. This pedagogical approach, generally speaking, reverses the traditional learning environment by delivering instructional content outside the classroom and working on it in class. The ultimate goal of our research is to evaluate the aforementioned model, used with a sample of 40 students, through a mixed-method approach. To this aim, a satisfaction survey (Gilboy, Heinerichs & Pazzaglia, 2015) plus two open-ended questions were administered to participants in the study. The results obtained, through both quantitative and qualitative techniques, reveal that the majority of the students completing the evaluation preferred the flipped method compared with the traditional one.
