    Język nauk pedagogicznych wielokrotnie poddawany był krytyce. Jego porządkowanie należy rozpocząć od sprecyzowania pojęć: „wychowanie” , „kształcenie” i „nauczanie” , uważanych za podstawowe pojęcia pedagogiczne, a dotąd nieokreślone w sposób zyskujący aprobatę przynajmniej większości pedagogów. Większość kontrowersji i sporów dotyczy przede wszystkim treści i zakresu pojęcia „wychowanie ". Różnorodność ujęć i sposobów użycia tego terminu powoduje trudności w porozumiewaniu się, wieloznaczność i chaos w dyskusjach i rozważaniach pedagogicznych. Analiza literatury ze zwróceniem szczególnej uwagi na definicje omawianego pojęcia i codzienna praktyka pedagogiczna pozwoliły na przeprowadzenie próby uświadomienia wszystkim posługującym się językiem nauk pedagogicznych trudności, z jakimi borykają się pedagodzy teoretycy w precyzowaniu swego języka.

    The aim of the paper is to provide information on the evolution of three correlated notions listed above. Only constructive standpoints, assuming possibility of the relevant sciences are taken into account, no criticism of metaphysics as such, etc. is mentioned. Included are some opinions on the methodology of these disciplines. As Polish reader still cannot find information concerning many basic issues in this field of study, some elements of doxography are also included to fill the most nagging gaps. This provisional survey is intended to serve as a complementary source of information in the field of ontology for students of philosophy.

    With the current economic downturn, increased levels of unemployment, and poverty, the role of non-profits has come into spotlight. Considering that there are over 1.5 million NGOs in the U.S.A., and a proliferation of faith-based organizations (FBOs), their role in social capital, civic engagement cannot be discounted (Salamon, Sokolowski, and Anheier 2000). The role of FBOs has also been recognized as being important, and this became a part of mainstream discourse with the Charitable Choice provisions introduced by President Bill Clinton and consolidated under George W. Bush. While there is a lot of literature on Christian FBOs, there is very little written matter on American Muslim NGOs, or comparative research. American Muslim FBOs have emerged in the last 20 years, as important players in both domestic and international humanitarian aid movement. I will examine the case of Muslim faith-based giving to organizations to analyze how charitable giving towards them is influencing discourse about the American Muslim “community,” and how it is best to understand their work “relationally” rather than in opposition to other faith traditions (GhaneaBassiri 2010). While the narrative of giving among American Muslims seems simple and there is also very little literature on this issue, my preliminary research points towards a complicated landscape of giving, which combines both local giving at the mosque level and giving at the international level to the Ummah (community) or brotherhood, through transnational humanitarian aid agencies such as Islamic Relief. I argue that giving practices are creating new forms of “relational communities” in America. This notion of “relationality” can be applied in philanthropy, and is evident in the global humanitarian aid movement, as I demonstrate. I ask whether this is forming a new “moral geography” that is more pluralistic and broader than the one that we are familiar, especially in the American context. A closer examination of this phenomenon offers us insights into how a community is imagined and created. This paper seeks to contribute to the growing body of literature on FBOs, and also that on American philanthropy.

    Despite the shifting ideologies of gender of the seventeenth century, the arrival of the first actresses caused deep social anxiety: theatre gave women a voice to air grievances and to contest, through their own bodies, traditional gender roles. This paper studies two of the best-known actresses, Nell Gwyn and Anne Bracegirdle, and the different public personae they created to negotiate their presence in this all-male world. In spite of their differing strategies, both women gained fame and profit in the male-dominated theatrical marketplace, confirming them as the ultimate “gender benders,” who appropriated the male role of family’s supporter and bread-winner

    En partant du développem ent historique du tourisme, de sa forme d'élite dans le passé, l'auteur passe au tourisme en masse de nos jours et analyse ce phénomène à l'aspect des notions: „temps libre" et „mouvement des étrangers" (Fremdenverkehr). Il aborde aussi le phénomène de la récréation en motivant la nécessité de différencier les notions: „repos " (arrêt du travail), c. à d. récréation en in activité et „activité ", c. à d. récréation par action. Cette dernière se manifeste comme l'activité et le développement physique ou l'activité et le développement intellectuel. L’auteur tire parti de cette division pour présenter les formes fondamentales de la récréation; telles sont: le repos propre et le tourisme lié à l'approfondissement de la connaissance du pays, c. à d. le repos „élargi". Selon l’auteur le tourisme signifie plus que le déplacement; il embrasse l'ensemble des activités liées au déplacement des touristes, l'ensemble des phénomènes économiques et sociaux qui découlent du comportement récréatif de l'homme.
    Touring and tourism represent two phenomena, which have appeared in connection with appearance of leisure time problem in the life of societies. The concept of leisure time includes: unlimited leisure time (outside time expended on sleeping and other life „im ponderables" such as e.g. meals, toilet) and lim ited leisure time. The former is a privilege of people who are not working, the latter is available for working people. Touring is one of the forms of utilizing or filling in leisure time, and unlimited leisure time produced a historically determined form of touring, the so-called elité touring, also called aristocratic touring, the latter — the so-called mass (democratic) touring typical for contemporary times. Mass touring is developing and preserved owing to a phenomenon of elongation of leisure tim e possessed by working people, and it is „signum temporis" of the present stage in development of human societies (in highly developed countries).

    This work was written in celebration of Professor Jerzy Dzieciuchowicz’s anniversary. It consists of three separate parts which share a common stem: population geography. In the first section, the author presented a short outline of the history of the research conducted by Polish geographers in the field of population studies until the 20th century. The second part discusses the scientific output of Professor Dzieciuchowicz in the scope of population geography. This covers both, text publications as well as cartographic studies. The final part offers a short study of contemporary depopulation of industrial cities based on the example of the Łódź Metropolitan Area. In the summary, the author offers conclusions derived from the conducted analyses.
    Praca powstała z okazji Jubileuszu Profesora Jerzego Dzieciuchowicza. Składa się ona z trzech różnych części, które łączy jeden nurt przewodni – geografia ludności. W pierwszej części autor przedstawił krótki zarys historii badań geografów polskich nad ludnością, ograniczając ten przegląd do XX wieku. Druga część pracy poświęcona została omówieniu dorobku naukowego Jerzego Dzieciuchowicza w zakresie geografii ludności. Omówienie to dotyczy zarówno publikacji tekstowych, jak i opracowań kartograficznych. W części trzeciej przedstawiono krótkie opracowanie badawcze dotyczące współczesnego wyludniania się miast przemysłowych na przykładzie Łódzkiego Obszaru Metropolitalnego. Pracę kończą wnioski do jakich autor doszedł w wyniku przeprowadzonych analiz.

    The study provides presentation of selected statistical concepts based on data depth by Tukey. The concepts as: the rang of depth, the half-space convex, contour, simplicial depth breakdown points, position numerical measures, the trimmed mean depth, regression depth and the set of generally positive points were exemplified in a two-dimensional space of the dataset. There are also given numerical algorithms in some cases to indicate already mentioned concepts and to study their affined transformation.     W pracy omówiono definicję zanurzenia punktu w próbie oraz wywodzące się z lej koncepcji pewne inne pojęcie statystyczne. Przedstawiono między innymi wskaźniki określające stopień zanurzenia oraz zaproponowano metody numerycznego ich wyznaczania.

    The paper portrays the origins and ideological foundations of NSZZ “Solidarity” (Independent Self-governing Trade Union “Solidarity”) and their meaning in social life at the time of the communist regime in PRL (Polish People’s Republic). There are references to strikes (June ‘56 in Poznan, polish March ’68, June ’76, July ’80 in Lublin and Swidnica and August ’80) and, in 1980, the creation of Inter-Enterprise Strike Committee, which developed and published 21 demands aimed at the authorities. In the study, it is acknowledged that those demands are the ideological sources of Solidarity. The author of the text thinks that John Paul II sermons and encyclicals as well as Fr. Józef Tischner’s texts (published in the book Etyka solidarności oraz Homo sovieticus – Solidarity’s ethics and homo soviecticus) also had an influence on the formation of these ideas, which could bring back moral order, the rule of law, dignity and freedom for the society enslaved by Soviets. “Solidarity” also desired to improve the economic status of the country, particularly by ending the crisis. Those thoughts were, and are, beautiful; unfortunately, nowadays many of them exist only in the sphere of ideas or demands written in NSZZ Solidarity’s statute. Therefore, the article contains a sad conclusion, that in the 3rd Republic of Poland’s reality, “Solidarity’s” ideas are not attractive anymore. It happened because modern society is guided by consumerism and has become banausic. Trade union membership is not beneficial anymore, sometimes even being bothersome and seen as exceptional. That is why people, for the sake of keeping their jobs or other benefits, are leaving NSZZ “Solidarity”. Considering the ideas behind trade unions (especially the protection of worker’s affairs) – it is a peculiar paradox.
    W artykule zostały przedstawione geneza i ideologiczne podstawy Niezależnego Samorządnego Związku Zawodowego „Solidarność” i jego znaczenie w życiu społecznym w czasach PRL. Genezę organizacji wywodzi się od sekwencji strajków (Czerwiec ’56 w Poznaniu, Polski Marzec ’68, Czerwiec ’76, Lipiec ’80 w Lublinie i Świdnicy oraz Sierpień ’80). W 1980 roku utworzono Międzyzakładowy Komitet Strajkowy, który opracował i opublikował 21 żądań skierowanych do władz. W artykule uzasadniono, że żądania te są ideologicznymi źródłami „Solidarności”. Autorka uważa, że kazania i encykliki Jana Pawła II oraz teksty ks. Józefa Tischnera (wydane w książce Etyka solidarności oraz Homo sovieticus) również miały wpływ na tworzenie tych żądań. Były to idee, które mogły przywrócić porządek moralny, praworządność, godność i wolność społeczeństwa zniewolonego przez sowietów. Solidarność pragnęła również poprawić status ekonomiczny kraju, zwłaszcza poprzez zakończenie kryzysu. Te myśli były – i są – piękne; niestety, obecnie wiele z nich istnieje tylko w sferze pomysłów lub żądań zapisanych w statucie NSZZ „Solidarność”. Stąd artykuł kończy smutny wniosek, że w rzeczywistości III Rzeczypospolitej idee „Solidarności” nie są już atrakcyjne. Stało się tak, ponieważ współczesne społeczeństwo kieruje się konsumpcjonizmem i staje się banalne. Działanie w związkach zawodowych nie jest już opłacalne, czasem wręcz kłopotliwe i postrzegane jako wyjątkowe. Dlatego ludzie dla zachowania pracy lub innych zysków opuszczają NSZZ „Solidarność”. Biorąc pod uwagę idee stojące za związkami zawodowymi (zwłaszcza ochronę spraw pracowniczych) – jest to swoisty paradoks.
