Opis:
Focusing on value creation in marketing has always been the key to success for companies. As a result, the definition, analysis and communication of value has gained importance. Companies are making an attempt to make a value proposition that is not only lucrative for the customer, but also has great returns for the company itself. Although this might sound simple on paper, since it is the basis for business logic, it is much more complicated in real life situations. With the service elements in the offering and the emergence of technologies such as smart and connected phenomenon, the business models become more innovative and more complexity is added to the analysis of value. The objective of this paper is to introduce a method for the dual perspective of value in a bundle of product and service in a smart and connected context. This method draws from the customer value and customer lifetime value concepts to offer an all-inclusive study on value. This assists companies in crafting an appealing value proposition in a cost-saving offering for a client that offers value to the company over its lifetime. This study specifically deals with the state of the arts smart and connected phenomenon and provides a view on how value works in that context. The framework created through this study serves to help the company choose a client that is of most value to the firm over the time of their cooperation. It then leads the company towards a better fabrication of the offering that is not only an attractive proposition to the client but also for the company. It gives a close insight onto where the benefit comes from and how a smart and connected bundle of products, services and relationships must be put together for maximum results in the modern age.

Digitization in the production area represents the integrated planning and management of production and logistics systems and networks based on digital models, methods, and tools, which are built on a common flexible information and communication platform. Currently known and used Lean tools need to be dynamized and oriented to the creation of digital business, where digital models can be heterogeneous, respectively usable in several projects. One of these possibilities is the use of the Lean production method – Value Stream Mapping, the potential of which in the context of the above mentioned is great. The aim of the presented article is based on Gemba analysis of the production process to process the value stream in the environment of the software tool TX Plant Simulation for the needs of flexible reflection on changes in various parameters within the value stream. The case study carried out under this article aims, among other things, to highlight the importance of combining simple Lean Production tools with software in finding, testing, and designing alternative solutions. The potential of using the processed model was also processed for the needs of digitization of business processes in the future.

Opis:
International migration of the highly educated has always been a characteristic of academia, however, specific circumstances in the Balkans in recent years, marked by wars and economic crisis, have additionally contributed to a large outflow of highly educated people from Serbia. The aim of this study was to identify value systems among the highly educated migrants from Serbia. Living in extremely complex social situations, having to speak two or more languages and being adapted to living in different cultures, different political and social environments might influence migrants’ value systems. For this purpose, a questionnaire has been constructed consisting of standardized scales –Value Orientation Scale (Kuzmanović 1995), Postmaterialism Scale (Inglehart 2000), and Social Distance Scale (Bogardus 1933). Our sample consisted of 327 highly educated emigrants who responded to an online survey. The results show that our sample characterizes expressed openness to the world, equality of genders, secular-rational and self-expression values. On the other hand, lower levels of conformism, religiousness, authoritarianism and social distance are detected. Our assumption is that the results obtained may be a consequence of the migrant lifestyle and in this regard are consistent with the new approach in the study of migration – transnationalism.

Opis:
A novel measurement method and a brief discussion of basic characteristics of measuring the phase shift angle between two sinusoidal signals of the same frequency are presented in this paper. It contains a mathematical model for using conditional averaging of a delayed signal interfered with noise to measure the phase shift angle. It also provides characteristics of conditional mean values and discusses the effect of random interferences on the accuracy of the phase shift measurement. The way to determine the variance of the conditional mean value, together with the assessment of standard and expanded uncertainty, are described. The uncertainty characteristic shows the complementary properties of the discussed angle measurement principle for small absolute values || (minimum for = 0) relative to the correlation principle, where the minimum measurement uncertainty is present for = /2

The aim of the work was to assess the dependence between debt level and the creation of equity for the farmer. In this paper were verified the opinions found in literature concerning the positive impact of debt-to-equity farmer. The study was carried out on family farms belonging to the “large” farms according to the classification of the Farm Accountancy Data Network (FADN PL) based on economic size ESU (that is about 45 ESU). The farms were divided into two different groups on account of level their debt. To analyze data were used the descriptive statistics method and regression models. Family farms with a larger level of debt showed better results and the regression models confirmed the positive influence of debt on the ability to create value for farms. This model is consistent when farmers benefit from preferential credit. This form of debt was dominated in the studied farms. The results of the research may constitute an exit point for conducting analysis for farmers considering to take out a loan or credit.

Commercialization processes are modeled and analyzed from the point of view of the implementation of activities under particular stages. These issues are the subject of many studies and analyzes, which is why the extensive literature is available on this subject. Technology valuation at various stages of the commercialization process is a separate issue. Such valuation is prepared in most cases by consulting companies for determining the price in the buying and selling processes. These valuations use known methods also used in other cases, e.g., real estate valuation. The work carried out presents the author’s concept of the commercialization process model, taking into account the costs and value of the technology at various stages of the product life cycle. The model uses a stochastic approach to determine future revenues and costs, which allows estimating the value of the technology by or in determining the probability of assessment validity. The proposed stochastic approach greatly increases the chances of using the presented solutions in practical activities related to technology valuation for the purposes of purchase and sale transactions.

Biofuel cells (BFCs) are an environmental friendly technology that can simultaneously perform wastewater treatment and generate electricity. Peculiarities that hinder the widespread introduction of this technology are the need to use artificial aeration and chemical catalysts, which make the technology expensive and cause secondary pollution. A possible solution to this issue is the use of biocathodes with microalgae and cyanobacteria. Microalgae in the biocathodic chamber produce oxygen as the terminal electron acceptor. Various BFC technologies with algal biocathode (microbial fuel cells, microbial desalination cells, and plant microbial fuel cells) can address a variety of issues such as wastewater treatment, desalination, and CO2 capture. The main technological parameters that influence the performance of the biocathode are light, pH, and temperature. These technological parameters affect photosynthetic production of oxygen and organic compounds by microalgae or cyanobacteria, and hence affect the efficiency of electricity production, wastewater treatment and production of added-value compounds in microalgae biomass like lutein, violaxanthin, astaxanthin. The ability to remove carbon, nitrogen, and phosphorus compounds; antibiotics; and heavy metals by pure cultures of microalgae and cyanobacteria and by mixed cultures with bacteria in the cathode chamber can be used for wastewater treatment.

This study demonstrates application of Lean techniques to improve working process in a sewing machine factory, focusing on the raw material picking process. The value stream mapping and flow process chart techniques were utilized to identify the value added activities, non-value activities and necessary but non-value added activities in the current process. The ECRS (Eliminate, Combine, Rearrange and Simplify) in waste reduction was subsequently applied to improve the working process by (i) adjusting the raw material picking procedures and pre-packing raw material as per demand, (ii) adding symbols onto the containers to reduce time spent in picking material based on visual control principle, and (iii) developing and zoning storage area, identifying level location for each row and also applying algorithms generated from a solver program and linear programming to appropriately define the location of raw material storage. Improvement in the raw material picking process was realized, cutting down six out of 11 procedures in material picking or by 55%, reducing material picking time from 24 to 4 min or by 83%. The distance to handle material in the warehouse can be shortened by 120 m per time or 2,400 m per day, equal to 86% reduction. Lean techniques proved to provide significant improvement in sewing machine company operations.

Opis:
The Fourier method is applied to the description of the room acoustics field with the combination of uniform impedance boundary conditions imposed on some walls. These acoustic boundary conditions are expressed by absorption coefficient values In this problem, the Fourier method is derived as the combination of three one-dimensional Sturm-Liouville (S-L) problems with Robin-Robin boundary conditions at the first and second dimension and Robin-Neumann ones at the third dimension. The Fourier method requires an evaluation of eigenvalues and eigenfunctions of the Helmholtz equation, via the solution of the eigenvalue equation, in all directions. The graphic-analytical method is adopted to solve it It is assumed that the acoustic force constitutes a monopole source and finally the forced acoustic field is calculated. As a novelty, it is demonstrated that the Fourier method provides a useful and efficient approach for a room acoustics with different values of wall impedances. Theoretical considerations are illustrated for rectangular cross-section of the room with particular ratio. Results obtained in the paper will be a point of reference to the numerical calculations.

Mung bean or moong or green gram, an important grain legume, is cultivated mainly in Asian countries and other parts of the world as a food crop. It is a highly nutritious grain legume with a high content of easily digestible proteins (20–32%), carbohydrates (53.3–67.1%), lipids (0.71–1.85%), vitamins, minerals, and fiber. It also contains some antinutrients such as tannins, phytic acid, hemagglutinin, polyphenols, and trypsin inhibitors in low concentrations. The sprouting of seeds leads to dynamic changes in metabolites with a decrease in antinutrient content and an increase in the nutritional value. In addition to these nutrients and antinutrients, the plant also contains various other phytochemicals such as alkaloids, flavonoids, saponins, phenols, glycosides, and bioactive peptides, which exhibit an array of pharmaceutically important properties such as anti-inflammatory, antinociceptive, antimicrobial, antioxidant, antidiabetic, lipid metabolism regulation, antihypertensive, antiallergic, and antitumor. Being rich in nutritional value and other phytochemical components, the plant can be explored further for its pharmaceutical properties and used as an efficient food additive in the preparation of different types of dietary supplements or food-derived drugs.

Order Picking is one of the supply chain processes that play a role in warehouse operations to meet customer needs. Order Picking is the most expensive activity in warehousing and can reach 55% of the total cost of warehousing operations, so it is considered a top priority in increasing productivity, even reaching 65% of total warehouse operating costs. The purpose of this research is to increase productivity in the process of picking order through reduction of processing time. Increased productivity is done by improving the working method of the picking process. From the result the comparing, the method by zone requires less total picking time (193.712 seconds) than by routing (249.559 seconds) decreased 55.85 second time, in other words, an increase of 22.38%. With the Visual Stream Mapping (VSM) in this research can reduce to travel time, it means that the total distance traveled is small than the current method. The impact from VSM approach will eliminate time for preparation of 1.960 seconds, and take empty trolley of 200 seconds. In this case some of traveling non-value adding for customer, so this is should be taken off from process picking because it is a waste.
