Opis:
IX w.), 2. Gród i przystań grodu (2. poł. IX w.–2. poł. X w.), 3. Wczesnośredniowieczny kompleks osadniczy: gród, podgrodzie i port podgrodzia (2. poł. X w.–poł. XII w.), 4. Ośrodek wczesnomiejski: gród, podgrodzie słowiańskie i port podgrodzia, podgrodzie niemieckie i Havening, osady otwarte (2. poł. XII w.–koniec 1. ćw. XIII w.), 5. Średniowieczne miasto podwójne: „dolne miasto”, „górne miasto” (koniec 1. ćw. XIII w.–8. dekada XIII w.), 6. Proces wykształcania się miasta średniowiecznego (8. dekada XIII w.–koniec 1. ćw. XIV w.).
The paper reconstructs the evolution of the urban growth of Szczecin between half of the 8th century and the beginning of the 14th century, basing on the interpretation of the available scientific literature on history and archeology of Szczecin, and on the method of planning analysis. A very important element of the description of urban structure of the early medieval Szczecin was a determination of the role and location of the port. The analysis of changes in the spatial layout of the city in the mentioned period allowed us to define the six successive stages of its development: 1. The open settlement on the Castle Hill and its’ haven (the 2nd half of the 8th century–the 2nd half of the 9th century), 2. The gord and its haven (the 2nd half of the 9th century–the 2nd half of the 10th century), 3. The early medieval urban complex: the gord, the slavic borough and its port (the 2nd half of the 10th century–half of the 12th century), 4. Townlike urban complex: the gord, the slavic borough and its port, German borough and its port Havening, open settlements (the 2nd half of the 12th century–the end of the first quarter of the 13th century), 5. The double city: “Lower town”, and “Upper town” (the end of the first quarter of the 13th century–the 8th decade of the 13th century), 6. The formation of the medieval city (8th decade of the 13th century–the end of the first quarter of the 14th century). The early medieval Szczecin was not growing simply in a linear manner, but it was developing in a stepwise manner, by attaching new, already spatially organized settlements. Such a model of an urban growth, consisting of the existence of “double” or even “multiple” cities, can be an interesting alternative for the development of contemporary urban areas, which are struggling with the phenomenon of “urban sprawl”. The presented concept is basing in many places on assumptions, resulting from logic of the settlement process, known from urban planning theory. Therefore, this work should be regarded as a research hypothesis, until finding new archaeological evidences will give a chance for its verification.

Among thermal stimulation treatments that have a beneficial effect on the human body general application of cold and various forms of massage are mentioned which can be assessed by means of thermovision analysis. The aim of the study was to evaluate changes in the distribution of surface body temperature under the influence of whole-body cryostimulation, classical massage and hot stone massage. Materials and methods: The study was conducted on a group of 40 men aged 20–24 years. They were subjected to a cryostimulation treatment at –120 °C and –140 °C, and to heat-stimulating treatments in the form of massages. Before the treatment, blood pressure and heart rate were measured. Temperature distribution in the 12 areas of the body surface was recorded using a Thermo Vision A20M Thermo Vision Camera with Therma CAM Researcher 2.8 software. Results: Statistically significant differences between cryostimulation treatments in the left upper limb and the back of the trunk were found. After heat-stimulating treatments, a statistically significant increase in temperature after classic massage was observed in the lower limbs, and a similar increase in temperature was noted in the rear of the pectoral girdle and of the trunk after hot stone massage. Conclusions: The thermovision analysis showed a great variation of body surface temperature depending on the body area. The higher changes in temperature, of up to 20%, were found within the upper and lower extremities in the group treated with cryostimulation. After heat-stimulating treatments, lower temperature differences, of 2–6%, were observed, the largest within the trunk and the lower limbs.

Opis:
The present work contributes to the analysis of the effect of electrolyte and pH on the adsorption of dicephalic N-dodecyl-N,N-bis[(3-D-aldonylamido) propyl]amines (aldonyl = gluconyl and lactobionyl) at the air/water interface. The headgroup of these surfactants consists of two amide groups connected by a central tertiary amine, which may be protonated in an aqueous environment. We performed measurements of surface tension isotherms of aqueous solutions of the studied dicephalics in the presence of NaCl and NaOH and applied the STDE model for evaluation of the experimental results. They showed that the adsorption of the surfactants at the air/water interface was pH- and electrolyte- dependent, since addition of NaCl and NaOH had different effects on the surface activity and critical micelle concentration values (CMC). The theoretical model reflected well the surface tension isotherms obtained for a broad range of surfactants concentration, confirming the theoretical predictions concerning the protonation of tertiary amines, which was additionally supported by the measurements of solution pH.

The performance of electro-flotation with aluminum electrodes for the removal of different dyes from synthetic aqueous solutions and real wastewater was studied. Parameters affecting the electro-coagulation-flotation process, such as pH, initial dye concentration, treatment time and temperature were investigated. The maximum dye removal from synthetic solutions was achieved at pH 7. The order of the dye removals is nonionic>cationic>anionic. The removal process follows pseudo first-order kinetics and the adsorption follows both physical and chemical adsorptions which is exothermic. Negative values of entropy change, ΔS°, and Gibbs free energy change, ΔG°, indicate that this adsorption process is spontaneous and less favorable at high temperatures. Treatment of a real wastewater from textile dyeing factory showed that the removal efficiency was ranging between 92-99% for all constituents. The energy consumption is 0.0167 kWh/dm3.

The investigation of surface modification of Egyptian calcium carbonate via polymers was achieved with simultaneous ultra-fine grinding. Attrition mill and planetary mill were used for wet and dry grinding, respectively. The parameters affecting the grinding were studied such as ball number, speed and grinding time. The rheological characteristics of the aqueous calcium carbonate suspensions were studied in the presence of different types of polymers. The results indicated that the mechanical force could clearly affect the modification characteristics of calcium carbonate due to its mechanochemical effects. The viscosity of calcium carbonate suspension depends on the volume percentage or weight percentage. The dispersing agent increases the solid concentration for a given particle fineness.

Environmental pollution by lead ($Pb^{2+}$) and zinc ($Zn^{2+}$) ions has become an important issue due to its harmful effects on human health and environment. This work aims to evaluate the application of surface modified Egyptian bentonite mineral by acid activation using $H_2SO_4$ and thermal treatment as an adsorbent to remove lead ($Pb^{2+}$) and zinc ($Zn^{2+}$) ions from aqueous solution. X-ray diffraction (XRD), Fourier Transformed Infrared Spectroscopy (FTIR) and Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM) techniques were used to investigate the modified bentonite. The impact of organic and inorganic dispersants on rheological characteristics of bentonite suspensions was investigated. Adsorption of $Pb^{2+}$ and $Zn^{2+}$ ions using modified bentonite mineral was performed with different adsorbent doses and pH values. Removal efficiencies of lead and zinc are 99.67% and 99%, respectively with adsorbent dose of 25 g/l at pH of 6.2.

Leaching of heavy metals (Zn, Pb, Cu, Ni and Cr) from hazardous waste originating from steel works (slag) has been investigated. Contaminant leaching behavior from monolithic waste materials in the function of time was examined. There was established the cumulative leaching of elements per surface area of waste material and the impact of the duration of the leachant contact with the waste on the leachability. The types of processes accompanying the release of heavy metals were determined as well. Surface wash-off and dissolution were dominant processes during the leaching of the analyzed elements. Chromium was the only element whose release from the sample was controlled by diffusion when subjected to leaching in a liquid of pH 7. Due to the low levels of heavy metal leaching in relation to their concentrations in the samples, it seems that longer duration of the tank test can contribute to the release of additional amounts of the heavy metals.

Purpose: The topic of the present paper concerns the human joint cartilage therapy performed by the magnetic induction field. There is proved the thesis that the applied magnetic field for concrete cartilage illness should depend on the proper relative and concrete values of applied magnetic induction, intensity as well the time of treatment duration. Additionally, very important are frequencies and amplitudes of magnetic field as well as magnetic permeability of the synovial fluid. Material and methods: The research methods used in this paper include: magnetic induction field produced by a new Polish and German magneto electronic devices for the therapy of human joint cartilage diseases, stationary and movable magnetic applicators, magnetic bandage, ferrofluid injections, author’s experience gained in Germany research institutes and practical results after measurements and information from patients. Results: The results of this paper concern concrete parameters of time dependent electro-magnetic field administration during the joint cartilage therapy duration and additionally concern the corollaries which are implied from reading values gained on the magnetic induction devices. Conclusions: The main conclusions obtained in this paper are as follows: Time dependent magnetic induction field increases the dynamic viscosity of movable synovial fluid and decreases symptoms of cartilage illness for concrete intensity of magnetic field and concrete field line architecture. The ferrofluid therapy and phospholipids bilayer simultaneously with the administrated external electromagnetic field, increases the dynamic viscosity of movable synovial fluid.

Druga połowa XIV w. to powstanie ganka łączącego kościół z klasztorem magdalenek. Najwyższą kondygnację wieży z blankowaniem zrealizowano w połowie XV w. Budowę obecnego trójnawowego siedmioprzęsłowego korpusu halowego bez wydzielonego chóru z wielobocznym obejściem i sklepieniami sieciowymi oraz dwupoziomową zakrystią przeprowadzono zapewne w latach 1474-1488. Świętego Krzyża, a w 1516 r. W połowie XIX w. zmieniono wystrój szczytu i wprowadzono kruchtę zachodnią.
The article presents the history of the creation and transformation of the parish church in Szprotawa from 13th until the 20th century. The introduction discusses the source references and the accesible literature – in a small extent discussing the evolution of the temple architecture. Based on architectural studies and details analyses, the most important phases of the church’s transformation have been identified. The origins of the building were erected in the 2nd half of the 13th century, when a temple composed of a rectangular choir and a three-span nave was erected. Probably in the 1st half of the 14th century, a tower with a chapel on the ground floor was built by the northern wall and in the middle of the century, the body was extended from the south by three chapels and a porch in front of the northern entrance. The 2nd half of the 14th century brought the creation of a porch connecting the church with the Madeleine convent. The highest storey of the tower with blanking was built in the middle of the 15th century. The construction of the present three-nave seven-bay hall structure without a separate choir with a polygonal bypass and vaults and a two-tiered sacristy was probably carried out in the years 1474-1488. After this year, two chapels: of Our Lady of Sorrows and the Passion of the Lord were built by the south elevation, and at the northern one – the Holy Cross chapel. And in 1516 the following were built: Gethsemane, Dungeon and Detenction, and a lodge for the Madeleine sisters. The Renaissance transformations included narrowing of the entrance to the chapel on the ground floor of the tower, and the Baroque changes – a new interior decoration of the Holy Cross chapel, breaking through for the present entrance on the axis of the main nave, building the organ’s choir and the new tower’s helmet. In the middle of the 19th century, the decoration of the gable was changed and the western porch was introduced.

Background: In large-scale corporations in the software engineering context information overload problems occur as stakeholders continuously produce useful information on process life-cycle issues, matters related to specific products under development, etc. Information overload makes finding relevant information (e.g., how did the company apply the requirements process for product X?) challenging, which is in the primary focus of this paper. Contribution: In this study the authors aimed at evaluating the ease of implementing a semantic knowledge management system at Ericsson, including the essential components of such systems (such as text processing, ontologies, semantic annotation and semantic search). Thereafter, feedback on the usefulness of the system was collected from practitioners. Method: A single case study was conducted at a development site of Ericsson AB in Sweden. Results: It was found that semantic knowledge management systems are challenging to implement, this refers in particular to the implementation and integration of ontologies. Specific ontologies for structuring and filtering are essential, such as domain ontologies and ontologies distinct to the organization. Conclusion: To be readily adopted and transferable to practice, desired ontologies need to be implemented and integrated into semantic knowledge management frameworks with ease, given that the desired ontologies are dependent on organizations and domains.

Due to striving for reducing the logistic cost of enterprises, the route optimisation issue becomes more and more important. For this purpose heuristic solutions based on artificial intelligence are often used. Taking into account the high difficulty of optimization problems, it is particularly important to use IT support. This paper presents the Traveling Salesman Problem and the idea of heuristic algorithms used to solve this problem. More detailed were presented Ant Colony Optimization Algorithm and Genetic Algorithm.

The paper provides a description of analytical model of a longwall scraper conveyor, including its electrical, mechanical, measurement and control actuating systems, as well as presentation of its implementation in the form of computer simulator in the Matlab®/Simulink® environment. Using this simulator eight scenarios typical of usual operational conditions of an underground scraper conveyor can be generated. Moreover, the simulator provides a possibility of modeling various operational faults and taking into consideration a measurement noise generated by transducers. The analysis of various combinations of scenarios of operation and faults with description is presented. The simulator developed may find potential application in benchmarking of diagnostic systems, testing of algorithms of operational control or can be used for supporting the modeling of real processes occurring in similar systems.

The swimming kinematic parameters, stroke rate (SR) and stroke length (SL), as well as the coordination indices based on propulsive or non-propulsive movement phases of the arms and legs were distinguished. Results: Swimming speed (V 100surface breast ) was associated with SL (R=0.41, p<0.05) and with TBL tending towards statistical significance (R=0.36, p<0.07), all relationships between the selected variables in the study were measured using partial correlations with controlled age. SL interplayed negatively with the limbs propulsive phase Overlap indicator (R=-0.46, p<0.05), but has no significant relationship to the non-propulsion Glide indicator. Conclusions: The propulsion in-sweep (AP3) phase of arms and their non-propulsion partial air recovery (ARair) phase interplayed with V 100surface breast (R=0.51, p<0.05 and 0.48 p<0.05) respectively, displaying the importance of proper execution of this phase (AP3) and in reducing the resistance recovery phases in consecutive ones.

Opis:
Exposure to bioaerosols at various stages of waste management system (collection, transfer and disposal) has been evaluated by recording of the bacterial and fungal concentrations in the air around these facilities. Regardless of the season, the total bacteria and total fungi were detected for all sampies, whereas the fungal genera were not. The bioaerosol concentrations measured in the waste collection bins were significantly higher than those of the transfer station and landfill site. The mean microbial concentrations at wastes container bins and in-operation trench exceeded the Iran outdoor bioaerosol guidelines (850 CFU/m3), thus suggesting the need for remedial action regarding microorganisms, in order to reduce the exposure at the wastes management system.
