    Opis:
    There are various methods for the searching of the optimal transportation network structure for specified transportation needs. Apart from the principle, each method requires the construction of the network model with some simplifying assumptions and approximations, what leads to discrepancies with reality. Even larger uncertainties are caused by using of the data predicted for the transportation needs in the future. Obtaining of any single transportation network structure is therefore not yet a solution. Its behavior additionally should be examined for the changed data to ensure that it remains optimal both now and in the future covered by the forecast.
    Istnieją różne metody pozwalające na znalezienie struktury sieci transportowej optymalnej dla zadanych potrzeb transportowych. Niezależnie od zasady działania każda metoda wymaga budowy modelu sieci przy przyjęciu pewnych założeń upraszczających oraz dokonania przybliżeń, co prowadzi do rozbieżności z rzeczywistością. Jeszcze większe niepewności są skutkiem użycia danych prognozowanych dla potrzeb transportowych w przyszłości. Uzyskanie jakiejkolwiek pojedynczej struktury sieci transportowej nie jest zatem rozwiązaniem problemu. Należy dodatkowo zbadać jej zachowanie dla zmienionych danych, aby upewnić się, że pozostanie optymalną zarówno obecnie, jak i w objętej prognozą przyszłości.

    Purpose: The aim of the paper is to carry out analyses of the qualitative and qualitative methods of the measure of internalisation of a corporation. Design/methodology/approach: Critical literature analysis. Analysis of international literature from main databases and Polish literature and legal acts connected with the researched topic. Findings: In this paper, there is a description of the main methods used to measure this problem. The indicators used to measure the international level of an organisation can be divided into the following groups: structural indicators, market indicators, assessment indicators, concentration indicators and indicators of geographical and cultural distance. In the paper, there is also an example of indicators used in two internationalisation models: Uppsala model and network model. The issue of internationalisation is very promising and opens up numerous research fields. Using various methods of measuring the internationalisation of an organisation, you can then examine their associations with other methods used in the sciences regarding management of issues such as: view management, innovation, organisational culture, quality management systems maturity, etc. (after proper operationalisation of these issues). Originality/value: Detailed analysis of methods used to measure enterprise internationalisation.

    The article discusses the issue of effective distribution of work on formation of train network between the stations of industrial and mainline rail transport. The analysis is worked out of difficulties in the interaction of technological systems of railway transport of common and uncommon use and risks of the transport stream delays. The strategy for sorting of wagons and a complex of interconnected mathematical models is developed. The proposed solution method is based on step-by-step distribution of traffic volumes over the network through valid assignments of trains with subsequent calculation of the compromise management, taking into account the interests of each owner of transport infrastructure and each individual member of the transport and logistics chains.

    Purpose: The article aimed to identify differences in the density of the trust network of team members in different work models (on-site, hybrid, and remote) and to identify opportunities for building knowledge and innovation in such work models based on the trust there. The method of experiment and a social networks analysis (SNA) was used to achieve the goal. Design/methodology/approach: The research is based on an experiment as part of a strategic business simulation game. The participants of the investigation are MBA students. The variable in the experiment is the work model. In these three different situations, relationships developed in teams are identified. Based on the identified relationships, visualizations of the trust network were built. Findings: The research confirmed that the hybrid and remote work models minimize the number of trust ties between team members. The network of trust based on the identified relationships is less dense. The decline in confidence leads to the conclusion that a company's innovation and ability to generate new knowledge are now under threat based only on group resources. Research limitations/implications: Research is based on an experiment. The group subjected to the investigation is MBA students. The limited duration of the experiment may limit the formation of networks of trust (based on long-term, deep relationships). See also a summary. Practical implications: The results indicate apparent differences in the density of trust relations between the organization's participants in the three analyzed work models. This points directly to the need to adjust tools supporting the development of innovation and knowledge creation for remote work models, different from those known from traditional (on-site) work models. Originality/value: The study shows that trust relationships, e are more challenging to achieve in remote working conditions than in traditional work models. It gives managers guidelines on what tools (such as SNA) they can use to identify relationships between people in new work models.

    Opis:
    This paper proposes a preliminary calibration and validation of a macroscopic traffic flow model for signalised junctions. In fact, on the network signal setting design problem, a reliable modelling approach must be adopted to acknowledge the traffic flow effects, considering two phenomena: queue dispersion and spillback. The proposed model is an extension of the space-time discrete Cell Transmission Model (CTM), which can simulate dispersion and horizontal queue. This preliminary calibration and validation use real-world data collected on an arterial of the city of Salerno (south of Italy). Results showed that the estimated parameters are consistent with the literature.

    After three industrial revolutions, the fourth has come, transferring production to sophisticated networks of companies equipped with intelligent devices, machines, and means of transport, communicating with each other using modern technologies. It creates new challenges for industrial companies; it requires existing business models to be redefined. The development of the Industry 4.0 concept forces modern companies, especially small and medium-sized enterprises, to quickly and flexibly adapt to the changing demand conditions. This is reflected in the creation of new business models, ones that allow for the introduction of innovations, the rapid reorganization of processes, and very flexible adaptation of enterprises to the conditions of a changing environment. The aim of the article is to present the concept of a business model assuming the creation of a network of small and medium-sized enterprises that are able to generate added value for their clients in the era of Industry 4.0.

    Opis:
    The article deals with the possibilities of optimizing the postal transportation network with respect to planned road infrastructure. The research adopted in this article uses allocation models within graph theory to obtain results for addressed optimization problem. The article presents and compares two types of these models – p-median and uncapacitated fixed charge facility location model. The latter is subsequently applied on the postal network to determine the optimal location of postal facilities while minimizing costs. Moreover, the article describes the possibilities of identifying and calculating input variables of the used model, creating the underlying network, as well as possible further improvements of obtained solution. The results can serve as a basis for modification of the used model for the simulation of networks in the postal sector.
    Artykuł dotyczy możliwości optymalizacji pocztowy sieci transportowej w odniesieniu do planowanej infrastruktury drogowej. Do uzyskania wyników badań dla problemu optymalizacji wykorzystane zostały modele alokacji w ramach teorii grafów. Artykuł przedstawia i porównuje dwa rodzaje modeli. Model wykorzystuje się w celu określenia optymalnego położenia urządzeń wyposażenia pocztowego, przy jednoczesnej minimalizacji kosztów. Ponadto, artykuł opisuje możliwości określania i obliczania zmiennych wejściowych używanego modelu, tworzenia sieci podstawowej, jak również możliwych dalszych usprawnień otrzymanego rozwiązania. Wyniki badań mogą służyć jako podstawa do modyfikacji używanych modeli symulacji w sieciach sektora pocztowego.

    In the automation systems of sorting process the use of computer networks of Ethernet technology is possible. But its traditional drawback is a probabilistic nature of the network access, which does not guarantee the information transmission in specified time intervals. However, there are other technologies that are free from this defect, for example, the Token Ring technology. A methodology, for determination of the network parameters in the automation system on marshalling yard at the restriction of the average time for application waiting in the queue at the station network has worked out. Using the token method of access to the ring, the state diagram of network stations was compiled. This is the basis for simulation model of the Token Ring network, which was developed in the GPSS environment. As a result of simulation the dependencies of the maximum queue length at the network station on the frame length, intensity, and distribution of time for application receipt from the station were obtained.

    The network configuration includes the row of aspects associated with location of the organizations, business models of cooperating organizations and relations models. Decisions on the structure of the relation depend on exogenous and endogenous factors (climate of cooperation). It was a purpose of the article examination of the impact of the climate of cooperation to the network configuration with particular reference to of models of the cooperation.

    The modern world, moving from the industrial economy to a knowledge-based, is subject to permanent changes that influence all areas of functioning of enterprises. The results of these changes are visible both in the mode of operation of the organization, they compete in the market, and the way their internal organization of and cooperation with stakeholders. This paper presents challenges for contemporary organizations in the face of a changing paradigm of management and their implications for the business model. They presented the concept of virtual and network organization.

    The paper presents a technical station model using the graphical evaluation and review technique – GERT. The network model reflects the operation of trainset service in compliance with the technology and technical equipment as well as interaction between technological systems at the service stations that are different by track development but connected to big passenger stations, which gives a possibility of determining the service time of trainsets depending on the number of carriages and the specificity of operation conditions. This GERT model is applied to the case study of an individual service station within the railway network in Bulgaria. The regression functions of service time are worked out according to the type and the number of carriages taking into account the limitation parameters. The functions obtained could be used for trainset scheduling to optimize the operation of passenger carriage fleet.

    Modeling of collaborative networks of design organizations using active knowledge models has been presented in the paper. Methodological, as well as technological aspects of collaborative networks development and the need for R&D on open collaborative platforms have been emphasized. Open platforms are required in order to enable holistic design methodologies, virtual collaboration and continuous learning process of design engineers in a frame of a collaborative network.

    Opis:
    Celem artykułu jest przedstawienie zarówno treści teoretycznych, jak i propozycji rozwiązań dostrzeżonych problemów praktycznych w zakresie organizacji projektowej. Źródła problemów postrzegane są przede wszystkim w konieczności integracji trwałej struktury organizacji realizującej projekt i czasowej struktury projektu oraz potrzebie uwzględnienia jednoczesnej realizacji wielu projektów. Zamieszczone są rekomendacje zastosowania modelowych struktur w realizacji projektów opartych na relacjach kapitałowych, kontraktowych i innych, w zależności od zalet i wad konkretnej organizacji projektu.
    The aim of the article is to present both the theoretical content and the prepositions of solutions to the identified practical problems in the project organization. Sources of problems are noticed mainly in the necessity of integration of a permanent structure of the organization implementing the project and the temporal structure of the project and the need of taking into consideration the simultaneous execution of many projects. Recommendations for the use of model structures in the implementation of projects based on capital, contract and other relationships, depending on the pros and cons of a specific project organization are provided.
