Opis:
It is difficult to organize urban transport in the city center. Existing buildings, narrow streets and working infrastructure make it difficult to use the oldfashion transport means such as trams or buses. The new idea consists in elevation of the transport in the very city above ground level (typical PRT systems cover rare areas like airport or fairgrounds). The study analyzes the hierarchical, layered system consisting of a ring light rail and PRT (Personal Rapid Transit) serving as commuter network. It is shown in the case of an exemplary city that the proposed solution is possible and reasonable. Ridership and vehicle mileage of the entire system are calculated for the light rail analytically, and in the case PRT by simulation.

W artykule przedstawiono wyniki badań dotyczące efektywności wykorzystania środków produkcji w ścianach wydobywczych, przeprowadzonych w polskich kopalniach węgla kamiennego. Badania objęły wywiady bezpośrednie z kadrą inżynieryjnotechniczną, analizę materiałów eksploatacyjno-ruchowych oraz analizę parametrów charakteryzujących wytypowane do badań ściany wydobywcze. Głównym rezultatem przeprowadzonych badań była identyfikacja i ocena czynników determinujących poziom efektywności wykorzystania pracy kombajnu węglowego w analizowanych ścianach produkcyjnych. Dodatkowo zaproponowano metodę analizy możliwości zwiększenia efektywności wykorzystania środków produkcji w ścianach wydobywczych kopalni węgla kamiennego, uwzględniającą zmiany w organizacji pracy i pracochłonności procesów technologicznych.
In the paper the author presented study results concerning the effectiveness of means of production in the longwall faces in Polish collieries. The study included direct interviews with engineering and technical staff, the analysis of technical specification of longwall faces and the analysis of parameters characterizing selected longwalls. The main result of the study was to identify and to evaluate the factors determining the efficiency level of coal shearer’s productivity in the analysed longwalls. Additionally, the method was presented which enables the possibility study of increasing the effectiveness of production means in longwalls in collieries taking into consideration changes in work organization and in labour-intensiveness of technological processes.

Głównym celem transportu jest zaspokojenie potrzeby przemieszczania się człowieka przy wykorzystaniu odpowiednich środków. Jest ono spowodowane przede wszystkim przestrzennym rozmieszczeniem miejsc pracy, siedlisk ludzkich czy innych zasobów. Na wybór środka transportu ma wpływ wiele czynników, takich jak dostępność określonego środka, bezpieczeństwo, wygoda podróży, osobiste preferencje osób podróżujących. Natomiast nowe regulacje Unii Europejskiej wymuszają ograniczenie presji na środowisko co przejawia się w ograniczeniach ruchu pojazdów w centrach miast. Celem niniejszej pracy była ocena zachowań komunikacyjnych mieszkańców lubelszczyzny w kontekście alternatywnych form przemieszczania się.
The main purpose of transport is to meet the needs of human movement with the use of appropriate means. It is caused primarily by the spatial distribution of jobs, human settlements or other resources. Many factors influence the choice of a means of transport, such as the availability of a particular means, safety, comfort of travel, personal preferences of travelers. On the other hand, new European Union regulations enforce limiting the pressure on the environment, which is manifested in the restrictions of vehicle traffic in city centers. The purpose of this work was to characterize communication behaviors of the inhabitants of the Lublin region in the context of alternative displacement.

Opis:
This article presents two methods of testing bearing hubs, which may supplement the existing subjective and unreliable methods of diagnostics of rolling bearings used in wheel bearing hubs of motor vehicles and other means of road transport. One of the most important elements responsible for the safety of a vehicle is the bearing hub. Regular monitoring of the technical condition of bearings should become an obligation at vehicle inspection stations when carrying out a technical inspection of a vehicle, authorising it to travel on public roads. This article presents the results of vehicle tests with signs of damage to rolling bearings, using two test stands: one on which the dynamic balancer acted as a device for accelerating the wheel, and the other, which was designed as a test dedicated to automotive rolling bearings, where a dynamic weighbridge was used as the wheel drive, made it impossible to test the wheel at lower rotational speeds. The newly designed and manufactured bearing testing device eliminates the disadvantages of the previous stand, and additionally, enables the measurement of a fully loaded bearing hub, which enables the simulation of real operating conditions on the bearing hub.

Problem starzejącego się społeczeństwa i konieczność zapewnienia mu większej mobilności w celu funkcjonowania w życiu społecznym stały się wyzwaniem dla konstruktorów środków transportu. W artykule przedstawiono wybrane zagadnienia dotyczące projektowania dwóch nowych konstrukcji transportu miejskiego, całkowicie dostosowanych do osób starszych i niepełnosprawnych. Prace te są prowadzone w ramach Projektu Eco-Mobilność, realizowanego na Wydziale Transportu Politechniki Warszawskiej, objętego Programem Operacyjnym Innowacyjna Gospodarka i współfinansowanego z Europejskiego Funduszu Rozwoju Regionalnego. Innowacyjne, funkcjonalne rozwiązania przedstawiono dla eco-samochodu i pojazdu PRT (Personal Rapid Transit).
Nowadays, the challenge for transport designers is to ensure more mobility and participation in social life of elderly and disabled people, because of the systematic increase of this group. The selected issues regarding designing of the two new public means of transport construction, completely adjusted to the elderly and disabled people have been presented in this paper. The research work has been carried out within the Eco Mobility Project that is co-financed by the European Regional Development Fund/Operational Programme for Innovative Economy. The innovative solution of eco-car and PRT vehicle have been presented.

The article presents aspects connected with the identification of the main problems of the deaf and the hard of hearing when they use public transport and the related infrastructure in Poland. For the purpose of the analysis, a survey was conducted among 71 deaf and hard of hearing persons who live in large conurbations and use public transport daily. The survey included questions concerning to what extent the public transport and infrastructure are adapted to the needs of the hard of hearing. The participants evaluated the system of passenger information and indicated problems they come across most frequently in public transport vehicles and at stops. The problems were related to two primary issues: difficulties communicating directly with the drivers or when paying the fare in the ticket window and problems hearing and understanding voice messages played in vehicles and at train/bus stations.

Opis:
This article presents an innovative method of diagnostics of rolling bearings used in the bearing nodes of motor vehicles, with the use of a prototype specialist stand. The tests were carried out based on a developed research plan, which included the impact of damage to the bearing and tyre of the vehicle, as well as the vehicle speed. Vibration accelerations were recorded in three measurement axes. Signal spectra were created based on the time courses of the vibration signals and were further analysed. The presented method is aimed at detecting excessive wear of rolling bearings in wheels from its early period.

Opis:
Purpose: The purpose of the study is to identify the marketing tools most often used in communication with stakeholders by enterprises located in Poland, with different business profiles, different forms of ownership, differing in ownership capital and number of employees, to show the frequency of their use of modern tools in marketing communication and to determine their position in relation to traditional tools. In addition, to present significant differences between enterprises with the mentioned attributes in the frequency of their use of instruments. Design/methodology/approach: The survey was conducted on a random sample of 225 enterprises in July-September 2020 throughout Poland (16 provinces). The method used in the study was a diagnostic survey. Findings: The results of the research prove that an important feature of marketing communications of modern enterprises is the integration of promotional instruments and activities. Tools based on new technologies are gaining popularity, but they are not displacing traditional tools. The frequency with which organizations use selected marketing tools is determined by various attributes of the organization, i.e. the business profile and size of the organization, especially the ownership capital. Research limitations/implications: The results of the survey prompt a broader and more in-depth analysis of the marketing activities of modern companies in the context of the marketing tools they use. This primarily concerns the determination of the recipients of marketing messages, the frequency of communication with them through selected instruments. Practical implications: The survey results show that foreign-owned companies are using more traditional and new marketing communication instruments. Therefore, companies with Polish capital need to accelerate the integration of promotional instruments and activities in the activity. Originality/value: The article is primarily of cognitive value, emphasizing the importance of modern technologies in the marketing activities of enterprises. Consequently, it can be an element that stimulates the management of modern organizations to seek and apply marketing instruments using the latest technological solutions to reach specific groups of stakeholders.

At present speed ranges for Levels of Service (LOS) categories are not well defined for highly heterogeneous traffic flow on urban streets in Indian context. In this regard a study was carried out in the city of Mumbai in India. The objective of this research work is to define free-flow speed ranges of urban street classes and speed ranges of LOS categories. In this regard speed data were collected using GPS palmtop and Fuzzy C-Means (FCM) clustering is used to define the speed ranges. It is found from this study that speed-ranges for LOS categories in Indian context are lower than that mentioned in Highway Capacity Manual.

The article presents creation process of e-government in the European Union. Firstly, it concerns the main deed, which was an impulse to application an electronic means of communication between citizen and administration. Purposes and postulates of strategics in the European Union are supported the initiatives implemented in Poland. The article concludes remarks to challenges and e-government in the European Union in future.

Najważniejszym czynnikiem wpływającym z jednej strony na rozwój gospodarczy i dobrobyt społeczeństwa, a z drugiej na łagodzenie skutków jego ubóstwa jest energia elektryczna i jej dostępność. Rozwijająca się gospodarka kraju generuje coraz większe zapotrzebowanie na energię. Poszczególne województwa Polski charakteryzują się różnym stopniem wykorzystania energii elektrycznej w podstawowych sektorach ekonomicznych. Wykorzystanie energii elektrycznej uzależnione jest od wielu czynników, m.in. od stopnia uprzemysłowienia regionu, lokalizacji elektrowni, a także od liczby ludności i gospodarstw domowych. W artykule przedstawiono wyniki analizy porównawczej zużycia energii elektrycznej w poszczególnych województwach Polski z uwzględnieniem sektorów ekonomicznych. Do uzyskania klasyfikacji województw w zakresie wykorzystania energii elektrycznej w sektorach ekonomicznych wykorzystano metodę analizy wielowymiarowej, która przyporządkowuje województwa do odpowiednich grup (skupień) o zbliżonej ilości zużycia energii elektrycznej.
The most crucial factor influencing economic development and social well-being, as well as resulting in the mitigation of the effects of social poverty is electricity and its availability. The country’s growing economy generates an increasingly higher demand for energy. The individual Provinces of Poland have a different degree of electricity use in the basic economic sectors. The use of electricity is dependent on a number of factors, such as a given region’s degree of industrialisation, the locations of power plants, as well as the population and household numbers. The article presents the results of a comparative analysis of electricity consumption in the individual Provinces of Poland, with account being taken of the main economic sectors. The classification of the Provinces in terms of electricity use in economic sectors was performed by means of a multi-dimensional analysis method, which assigns the Provinces to appropriate groups (clusters) having similar quantities of electricity consumed.

The provision of quality fuels to the aircraft requires compliance with a number of procedures during the transport, storage and distribution processes. Depending on the needs and organisational conditions, the air fuel distribution process is carried out using various types of transport means. The operational procedures and specificity of the functioning of the Armed Forces and other public law enforcement entities require the use of various construction and technological solutions allowing the efficient functioning of state aviation. The means of transport should not only ensure the appropriate quality of aviation fuel delivered to the aircraft but also enables the delivery of appropriate fuel practically to any place where it is required by the specific activities of particular services or aviation types units of the Armed Forces. This paper presents specific types of transport and distribution means used in state aviation and attempts to select features that determine their suitability for particular types of state aviation.

The concept of an innovative support tool for freight transport used in planning, organization and realization is presented in this paper. In addition to the basic functions of a fleet management tool, the educative approach towards environmentally friendly behaviour will be based on promoting ecological solutions, such as unconventionally powered cars, e.g., electric vehicles (EVs). The suggested criteria for a routing algorithm, which will be implemented in the freight transport planner tool, not only allows routing in relation to time and cost criteria, but also the criterion regarding the limitation of emissions of harmful factors. The implementation of innovative the S-mile platform gives rise to environmentally friendly cognition behaviour in the freight transport sector. This is a fundamental aspect to its application, which could help to move the planning, organization and realization of freight transport in the direction of more environmental friendly solutions.

Opisano możliwości zmniejszenia kosztów jakości przez zastosowanie kompozytowego tłoka w silniku spalinowym oraz poprawy jakości przez wykorzystanie nanotechnologii, tj. strukturyzowanych na wzór powierzchni liści lotosu hydrofobowych powłok tlenkowych na aluminiowych elementach poszycia pojazdów oraz folii z tworzywa sztucznego, stosowanych na znakach drogowych. Zastosowanie nowoczesnych materiałów i technologii przyczynia się do zmniejszenia kosztów zapewnienia jakości zarówno tych oczywistych, jak i niezauważanych w dotychczasowych systemach zarządzania jakością.
In this paper the acting of modern technologies and materials on the transport quality improvement has been described. The possibility of quality costs decreasing by using of composite piston in combustion engine as well as the quality improvement by using of nanotechnologies, i.e. structurised like a lotus leaf surface hydrophobic electrolytic oxide layers on aluminium vehicle body paneling and plastic foil used on road signs have been described. Using of modern materials and technologies causes decreasing of ensuring of alike the evident and the not perceived quality costs in current quality management systems.

One of the priorities of the EU economy is to create the best possible conditions for the design and implementation of innovative solutions within the scope of energy efficiency. In recent years, there has been quick technological progress in the field of devices having controlled motor drive used for air purification, and from heating plates, which are applied in the eating places, including restaurants and zones for preparing meals in various means of transport. The research conducted by the EU on EcoDesign requirements showed that range hoods at the stage of their use have a considerable potential of saving energy. The introduction of energy efficiency labels to the market has improved the energy efficiency of these devices and accelerated the transformation of the market to implement energy-saving technologies, which according to the experts, may lead to an annual primary energy saving of 27 PJ/year in 2021, which may increase in 2030 to 60 PJ/year. The authors of this publication researched the fluid dynamic efficiency of a selected range hood, showing the necessity of investments in new technologies. Patented original solutions of the range hoods that can be applied, among others, in such means of transport as passenger ships, cargo ships, and submarines having a zone for preparing meals were presented in this article. An environmental aspect in the context of energy consumption was shown during the phase of using the device for air purification, providing many premises and arguments for future constructional solutions for energy management in various branches of transport and more.
