Opis:
Many structural engineers claim that work experience plays a distinctive role in how well engineers drive their productivity. Compensation or salary also plays a distinctive role in how well engineers perform, based on the quantity of project worked delivered rather than on the time spent on the job, and is particularly beneficial for increasing engineer productivity. The main purpose of this study is to determine the influence of structural engineers' compensation, work experience and project worked on career success. This study also aims to (i) determine the type and number of work experience that a structural engineer has; (ii) ability to have knowledge on the structural project worked by a structural engineer; (iii) identify the type of workplace responsibility on the structural project (iv) understand the scope and the construction technology applies on the structural project; (v) determine the different type of projects worked by a structural engineer by groupings; (vi) establish a relationship between structural worked and compensation from work experience on career success of a structural engineer. The findings of the study revealed that structural engineers' work experiences in design management, managing construction, and teaching structural design are significantly influenced by structural engineer's compensation whereas, structural engineer's compensation does not have significant influence on structural engineers' structural project worked.

This paper presents the findings of Modified Waterfall Model for Le MaC Wireless Storage Management. The system store users files using offline connection to save all their activities inside the computer laboratories. As a result, the notion of user made it easy for end users v to save their files without a help of a flash drives. Information Technology thus plays a key role in the development of the autonomous learner extends to operators as well as to programmers, which are users of components such as software libraries. The standard provides a framework for organizations to define a quality model for a software product. In doing so, however, it leaves up to each organization the task of specifying precisely its own model. This may be done, for example, by specifying target values for quality metrics which evaluates the degree of presence of quality attributes.

Several momentous and significant events happening all over the world make this paradigm change in the method of teaching in the Asian countries. The first is globalization. High technology has shrunk the world so drastically that professionals have to complete with others internationally. This simply means that if Engineering students do not learn effectively, the graduates will hardly stand a chance in the global competition. This research presents information on the status of accreditation and evaluation of engineering programs in different countries around the world. The focus will be on United States ABET criteria 2016, the Canadian Council of Professional Engineering criteria and the FEANI standards for European institutions Accreditation policies and procedures of other countries are also described briefly in the research. Information on mutual recognition agreements and the cross border recognition of engineering education will also be emphasized.

This descriptive research focuses on the role of land surveying in the development of an architectural plan through the detailed engineering planning that leads to the construction phase. It comprises a leveling network that was established and all the points had been described completely. Parameters such as horizontal distance, horizontal angles and elevation differences between all points were measured through many closed leveling loops using theodolite (Leica Builder 300), tape measure & wheels (steel tape) and stave (leveling rod). The observations were used in a mathematical model and processed by traverse adjustment techniques. The error of closure for interior angles was checked and both latitude and departure were adjusted before applying the double meridian distance (DMD) method to obtain the required area of the land. The adjusted unknowns and observations were computed precisely to about a few millimeters accuracy. Technical descriptions of the land such as distance, bearing, boundaries, and area are necessary to visualize the shape & exact location of the land.

This descriptive study focused on the forensic investigation of abandoned Government Service Insurance System (GSIS) building in Manila. The post-fire investigation was conducted on structural elements in order to ascertain their in situ residual strengths and also to provide data for use in future assessment. Tests were conducted on beams, columns, and slabs in both the affected and the unaffected parts of the buildings. From the results, visual examination of the fire-affected buildings revealed that the steel corrosion and concrete deterioration are the major factors that affected the stability and integrity of structural members of the abandoned GSIS building in Manila. There was a notable reduction in the in situ strengths of the fire-affected structural members when compared with the unaffected members. However, the abandoned GSIS building is still in serviceable condition in terms of its structural members.

This study addresses the use of non-motorized transportation. The global benefits of the bike paths, bike lanes, and other types of bicycle-specific infrastructure consist of a reduction in traffic congestion and a decrease in emissions of greenhouse gasses and other pollutants that commuters face today. Additional indirect benefits, of no less value, demonstrate the benefits and viability of bicycles and non-motorized transport. These findings suggest that lack of pollutions and low cost of this form of transport for commuting will encourage the adoption and development of similar facilities elsewhere around the world.

Due to the environmental and economic crisis, this study focus on generating product using agricultural waste as well develop an alternative construction material that will lessen the social and environmental issues. It also paved the way to the recognition of using coconut shells and fiber as a substitute for aggregates in developing concrete hollow blocks. As a whole, the study' main concern is the environment and the construction and building technology to enhance natural world as well as building materials. This also aims to design a technical specification of concrete hollow block using coconut shell and fiber as aggregates that will meet the ASTM requirements in order to help contribute to the industry in saving the environment, to encourage the government to find solutions regarding the disposal to landfills of waste materials and save the environment, to provide new knowledge to the contractors and developers on how to improve the construction industry methods and services by using recycled coconut shells and fibers, and to sustain good product performance and meet recycling goals. A conventional concrete hollow block was compared to concrete hollow blocks with coconut shells and fibers of the same proportions. Observations from the tests performed were conducted in the laboratory where precise data were gathered and completely attained. Some of the interesting insights of the study are: (a) coconut shells and fibers are applicable as a partial substitute as coarse aggregates for concrete hollow blocks. (b) the good indicators of coconut shell and fiber quality as aggregate of concrete hollow blocks are particles, shape, and texture, resistance to crushing, absorption and surface moisture, grading, resistance to freezing and heating and light-weight.; (c) coconut shells and fibers are classified as miscellaneous material used for wall panels and partitions and (d) a non-load bearing type of hollow block because the compressive strength gained higher than the conventional concrete hollow blocks after 28th days

This paper discusses a list of information and issues that causes of structural failure in the foundations and footings of a building. When a load is gradually applied on a foundation, settlement occurs which is almost elastic to begin with. At the ultimate load, general shear failure occurs when a plastic yield surface develops under the footing, extending outward and upward to the ground surface, and catastrophic settlement or rotation of the foundation occurs. Foundation failure is caused by multiple reasons such as poor soil preparation, water problems, dry heat, large trees and plumbing issues Foundation failure is where the foundation settles below level of original construction to a point where damages has occurred such as veneer cracking, interior sheetrock cracking, separations in the veneer and misaligning doors to name a few common symptoms
