Opis:
The aim of the paper was to identify factors influencing employees’ adaptation, and evaluate the process in a selected company. The present study aims at establishing answers to questions on the need for the realization of adaptation, its course, and effectiveness of adaptive actions in the assessed company. While searching for answers to such questions, a review of literature and an empirical study were conducted. In order to carry out the empirical study, a case study method was employed, which constitutes a fundamental method of qualitative studies. Research results indicate that there is applied controlled adaptation in the present company. It resulted from benefits for the newcomer and the organization as well. It was observed that both the owners and the management of the assessed company devote particular attention to supporting newcomers in swift and positive adaptation.

Introduction/background: This article is based on a master thesis carried out by Aleksandra Pędowska under the scientific supervision of the author (Management stationary II degree: “Impact of the communication system on the management process in a selected poviat hospital”). Communication, as an element of management, is an essential function of all activities that are undertaken in organisations. A high level of communication leads to effective and efficient functioning and management of the organisation. Any cooperation that occurs between employees within an organisation is geared towards communicating with each other in such a way that the organisation can function well. The communication process also shapes interpersonal relationships. Communication in organisations, as in everyday life, is a difficult and complex process, which requires constant improvement and change. Clear and reliable communication contributes to the professional success of the organisation, to job satisfaction and effectively influences the organisation's management; it also warms up the organisation's image, increases the satisfaction of customers or patients as well as the employees who work for the organisation. Aim of the paper: The main aim of the research was to find out how the communication between the employees of the respective organisational units looks like and to collect as much information and data as possible on how the communication system influences the management process in the selected poviat hospital. Materials and methods: Literature analysis, analysis of source materials (internal), survey method – technique: indirect survey, tool: survey questionnaire. Results and conclusions: The important areas that comprise the effective management of a public organisation are dependent on the functioning of a proper communication system. The effectiveness of communication in the studied organisation in relation to management, in the opinion of the employees, is at a good or very good level. The occurrence of communication within the organisation contributes to the functioning of the organisation in an effective and efficient manner, despite the moderate current level of communication, which may be caused, for example, by the lack of training at the workplace. Communication contributes to the better functioning and management of the poviat hospital and furthermore warms the image of the organisation among patients and correctly influences the fulfilment of assigned duties or tasks by employees when communication is an efficient and clear process. Communication influences the management process in an organisation. Employees form the foundation of the organisation's functioning through communication within the organisation. In the researched organisation, the management orders and the electronic form (e-mail) are important areas in the process of information transfer, which works and is effective. It can be concluded that a good communication system in the organisation means motivated to work and informed employees. The foundation for building an effective management process in the organisation is a coherent and clear communication system. Therefore, it can be concluded that communication in the selected organisation, which is Zespół Opieki Zdrowotnej Spółka z.o.o., (Health Care Centre LTD.) is correct both in the area of functioning of the entire organisation and between individual employees.

Introduction/background: Dynamic growth and competition of an organization need also improving the human resources management processes. However in local government units, this system has always been shaped under completely different conditions, determined by legal provisions. Meanwhile with socio-economic development and changing society people started to expect effectiveness and efficiency also in the public sphere, which resulted in focusing attention on the effectiveness of people employed and raising the level of customer service in public administration. Therefore, it became necessary to introduce the process of human resources management also in local government. Aim of the paper: The objective of the conducted research was to make an analysis and qualitative assessment of the process of human resources management in local government units and to show the influence of this process in local government on the efficiency and effectiveness of its functioning. Materials and methods: The conclusions presented in this paper are a result of a critical evaluation of the literature related to the topic of the work, legal provisions, participant observation, individual case study of the examined public organisation and a survey conducted among 60 people. The research methodology that was used in the study is a quantitative method. Results and conclusions: The research showed that local government units improve the recruitment process, carry out periodic assessments and develop an employee development plan, but do not create a coherent process and limit themselves to the obligatory minimum. So, the local government administration must strive to fill job positions with professional, competent and properly prepared employees.

The purpose of the article is to answer the following research question: What will change in particular elements of Human Resource Management be in the context of Industry 4.0? To achieve the defined purpose, literature studies and empirical research (based on focus group interviews with HR specialists) were used. Such HRM issues as the future of jobs, competencies required from employees and technological progress in HRM are discussed in the subject literature. The paper indicates the need to analyze changes in relation to particular elements of HRM and different groups of employees. It also presents some controversial scenarios of HRM’s future and indicates directions for further research.

Introduction/background: The public health crisis, which was the Covid-19 pandemic, made it necessary to introduce changes in the HRM (human resource management) process in almost all organizations and industries. One of the industries that felt the negative effects of the crisis in a very severe way was the catering industry. Both owners of catering enterprises as well as employees in the industry had to face the challenges posed by an unexpected crisis situation. Aim of the paper: The main aim of this paper was to identify human resource management challenges and activities in the catering industry in times of Covid-19 pandemic in Poland. Materials and methods: The work uses source material in the form of literature on the subject of the crisis, as well as available reports and studies that were created during and immediately after the crisis caused by the Covid-19 pandemic. Primary research was carried out on the basis of a survey method. The questionnaire was distributed among the owners or managers of catering enterprises, as well as to industry’s employees. Results and conclusions: The pandemic was an unexpected phenomenon, and its effects left a significant mark on the processes related to human resource management. The catering industry turned out to be one of the most sensitive to such crises, which meant that many current employees decided to change their profession, and the owners and managers understood the need to both diversify activities and services provided, as well as the need to introduce changes in areas directly related to human resources management. The pandemic also increased awareness of the role and the importance of qualified, competent, motivated and committed staff in overcoming crises and achieving the success of the company.

Introduction/background: The essence of human resource management is the effective and strategic management of the organisation's people. The key elements of this process are recruiting and selecting appropriate candidates, developing and motivating employees, ensuring harmonious team relations, evaluating staff and managing their departures. Appropriate human resource management contributes to increased productivity, employee engagement and the achievement of organisational goals. Aim of the paper: The aim of this study is to present the functioning of selected human resource management processes among retail shop employees in a retail company in the sports and functional apparel industry, and to develop conclusions and recommendations contributing to the improvement of HRM processes in the studied company and other organisations. Materials and methods: For the aim of the study such research techniques like observation, interview and questionnaire survey were used. Results and conclusions: As a result of the research conducted, conclusions have been developed regarding individual human resource management processes. Recommendations were also made that can be used to improve HRM both in the organisation studied and in other companies. Among the most important areas for improvement were the process of managing departures and the incentive systems used in the organisation.

W artykule zwrócono uwagę na problematykę luki pokoleniowej w przedsiębiorstwie hutniczym. Luka pokoleniowa jest traktowana jako nadmiar pracowników w wieku dojrzałym nad pracownikami młodymi. Pojęcie „zarządzania luką pokoleniową” jest formą zarządzania zasobami ludzkimi (ZZL) w kierunku ograniczania negatywnych skutków luki pokoleniowej dla funkcjonowania przedsiębiorstwa. W artykule analizie poddano zmiany w strukturze wiekowej zasobów ludzkich oraz podejmowane działania w obszarze fluktuacji kadr. Na danych empirycznych dotyczących sytuacji kadrowej w przemyśle hutniczym wskazano na kierunki zmian w polityce kadrowej hutnictwa.
Some problems connected with the generation gap in manufacturing enterprises were presented in the article. Generation gap is surplus of old workers in relation to young workers. The term „generation gap” is a form of Human Resources Management (HRM) to limit negative results of the gap for enterprise activity. The changes in age staff structure were analyzed and the best practices as applied in the companies in the field of generation gap management were characterized in the article. This analysis was performed in construction of the changes in personal policy. In the case study was used steel industry in Poland.

Introduction/background: In the constantly changing economic and social environment, the management of a company aiming at staying competitive on the market becomes a challenge. Constant development and adjustment to the changeable conditions require flexible and pro-innovative organizational culture in a company. There is still a relative paucity of up-to-date knowledge about the relationship between the innovative organizational culture in large Polish companies and their development and profitability. Aims of the paper: The purpose of this paper is to identify the relationship between pro-innovative organizational culture in large Polish companies and their development and profitability. Several indicators of the above mentioned phenomena have been chosen and investigated in terms of interdependencies. Material and methods: The research was conducted with the use of the survey method and the tool of questionnaire distributed with the CATI (Computer Assisted Telephone Interview) and CAWI (Computer Assisted Web Interview) technique. The research is of quantitative nature. The research is part of the scientific project conducted in 2019 on 179 largest by revenue companies in Poland. Results and conclusion: Several interesting relationships between the indicators of pro-innovative culture and the indicators of development and profitability have been observed. Pro-innovative aspects of organizational culture in large Polish organizations facilitate their flexibility and development as well as support their profitability. It is especially evident in the present pandemic situation, where flexibility and innovativeness of companies becomes one of their most important quality.
