Opis:
According to a recently published data obtained by the space probe WMAP, as much as 72% of the Universe energy density is the dark energy of the state equation parameter w from – 1.29 to – 0.75. The dark energy of w < – 1 has been named the phantom dark energy as this value w implies the breaking of the Universe structures in a finite time tR. The phantom dark energy rips apart the Milky Way, the solar system, the Earth and ultimately the molecules and atoms of which we are composed, before the time tR.

Opis:
Travelling, both in a history of the world and or even more in the present times, is far from commonly accepted ways to do leisure activities. Tourism has evolved from the traditional “3 x S” (Sea, Sun, Sand) to “3 x E” (Entertainment, Excitement, Education). Desire to enjoy new experiences, feel unique emotions and take certain actions, it is what prevails now. A relatively new form of tourism - dark tourism, provides such an opportunity. Traveling through trails of disasters, accidents, visiting places associated with calamities and death are the best examples of such tourism. The tourism market, which is represented by, among others, the mass media, provides all sorts of information to potential tourists. Natural curiosity and desire to explore the world drives people to see a phenomenon, which is in the centre of attention of everyone. Some travel agencies are introducing innovative tourism products associated with it and by means of that they become more competitive on the tourist market. Yet the question remains whether such trips are a great idea or perhaps they are immoral. On one hand they educate and sensitize people to the plight of others, but on the other hand the human misery is becoming a sort of tourist attraction, therefore one should consider the existence and creation of such innovative offers.

Opis:
The article deals with the so called missing mass problem which during the last three decades has become one of the most serious difficulties in physics. There is some strong empirical evidence that the Universe contains not only matter that can be seen (by telescopes or radio telescopes) but the huge quantities of the unseen matter as well. The ordinary matter known to physics is but a small part of all matter the Universe is composed of. The missing mass is supposed to be in the form of the dark matter and the dark energy. In the paper the arguments in favor of the existence of these two entities are outlined, and some scientific as well as philosophical implications of the missing mass problem are discussed. It is argued that all the proposed solutions of this problem lead to serious changes in the scientific and philosophical worldview.

Opis:
One of the essential aspects of the dispute between scientific realism and anti-realism is the question of the ontological status of unobservable objects assumed by scientific theories and models. Scientific realism claims that these objects exist in the natural world, while anti-realism denies this. The missing mass problem is a good example of an issue that requires that this question be resolved. In cosmology, this problem is solved by assuming the presence of dark matter and dark energy. The difficulty, however, is that experience does not provide direct evidence for the existence of these two „substances.” In the first part of the article, the differences between scientific realism and anti-realism are discussed. In the second and third parts, the problem of the missing mass is presented (special attention is paid to the difficulties with the empirical confirmation of the existence of dark matter and dark energy). The fourth part of the article discusses the arguments of the supporters of half-realism, which is a kind of compromise between scientific realism and anti-realism.

The current cosmological observations of distant supernovae type Ia suggest the existence of dark energy component with negative pressure. The most obvious candidate for this dark energy is the cosmological constant which raises several theoretical difficulties. The problem of dark energy, due to our Universe is accelerating at present in principle is open. We argue that this problem will dominate the cosmology in XXI century. From the philosophical point of view it is interesting to provide evidence and comments for the key issues related to the dark energy models just at the moment before scientific revolution.

The starting point of this article is an attempt to prove the authenticity of the essential catchword of Julia Fiedorczuk’s ecocriticis, that “with the environmental crisis comes a crisis of the imagination” (citation from Lawrence Buell). In this article, the concept of disaster functions in an ecocritical practice is analysed and how we can avert anthropocentric and deleterious ways of thinking. An important context here is Timothy Morton’s concept of ecomimesis texts and more ecological, ambient poetics, where text reflects real processes which depart from the concept of imaginary nature. Specifically, this paper proves that in the latest poetry volume written by Urszula Zajączkowska, using the example of the volume Piach (2020), that firstly, the anthropocentric view of nature (which underlines the concept of ecomimesis) is abandoned, which, the imagined and servant, is far removed from the actual processes existing in the world. Secondly, the analysis and interpretation of selected texts in the poems confirms that the poetry exhibits a special sensitivity to changes and processes. In turn, this enables us to comprehend the effects of human actions. For this reason, the reader can exercise and practice his imagination, which is helped by the auratic poetics used. These activities facilitate a better understanding of the effects of human activities. Urszula Zajączkowska poetry’s prompts us to imagine how the materiality of the world works in practise and how these tiny atoms created the whole world. Also, this poetry fosters a way of thinking that assumes particular significance in the context of ongoing climate change, without necessarily aspiring for the currently popular apocalyptic themes.

Our study examines the impacts on workers when organisational humour is repeated, sustained, dominating, and potentially harmful, and thus can be considered to be bullying. In an ethnographic study of an idiosyncratic New Zealand IT company, we observed humour that was sexualised, dominating, and perpetrated by the most powerful organizational members. We argue that the compelling need for belonging in this extreme organizational culture influenced workers to accept bullying humour as just a joke and therefore acceptable and harmless even when it contravened societal workplace norms. Our contribution is in identifying and extending the significant theoretical relationship between workplace humour and bullying that, to date, is not well-explored in organizational research.

The hydrogen production technologies developed in the Institute of Fluid-Flow Machinery, Polish Academy of Sciences in Gdańsk are discussed here. They include the following methods: dark fermentation, photoelectrochemical water oxidation and hydrocarbons (or alcohols) reforming by microwave plasma. The potential of hydrogen production by using dark fermentation of different popular wastes such as: agricultural wastes, textile or wood waste, was determined using suitable models. Also, the influence of microaeration during dark fermentation of some substrates, e.g. sour cabbage, was tested. Photochemical oxidation is a water-splitting process driven by radiation at the surface of a titanium-oxide anode. The Si microrods covered by titania films were verified as a photoanode material. The hydrogen production from methane, ethanol, isopropanol and kerosene was driven by a microwave plasma. The results obtained confirm that microwave plasma sources have a high potential for hydrogen production via gaseous and liquid fuels reforming.

In the borehole DB-5, at a depth 1370.0 m dark micaceous enclave in granodiorite from Będkowska Valley was found. A sharp contact enclave/granodiorite is observed. The transition zone is irregularly developed around the enclave studied. It is a small enclave (3 x 6 cm), discoidal in shape. The microstructure of micaceous enclave is fine-blastic; crystalloblasts of rock-forming minerals are 0.2-0.5 mm in size. This enclave consists of: Fe-biotite (56-62 vol.%), plagioclase Ca-Na (34-40 vol.%), spinel (magnetite), corundum, and sericitic pseudo- morphs after cordierite. Its mineralogical composition is different from the Będkowska Valley granodiorite, what suggests that this rock is a medium/high-temperature restite. This rock represents residuum after partial melting of granodiorite magma in deep levels of basement of the Małopolska Massif.

Opis:
Recent astrophysical observations show that the universe has entered a late-time accelerated expansion period. It is commonly accepted that the dark energy is responsible for this enigmatic behavior of our universe, because it makes up about 70 percent of the content of our universe and dominates over the matter part. Therefore, the dark energy will govern the speedy enlargement and determine the fate of our universe. Another interpretation of the dark energy is that this is a new kind of dynamical field or fluid, something mysterious which fills all of space but something whose influence on the accelerated enlargement nature of our universe is the opposite of that of baryonic matter and ordinary energy. Here, we focus on the polytropic gas unified dark matter-energy model in a 5-dimensional cosmology to reconstruct tachyonic scalar field proposal of the dark energy. It is known that the background dynamics of the polytropic gas is equivalent to that one for the dark energy interacting with the dark matter. On the other hand, using scalar field is one of the most significant methods helping us to understand the dark universe. There are many scalar field proposals, but generally it is hard to get exact relations for the scalar field function and its self-interacting potential. In this work, making use of the 5-dimensional Polytropic gas model, we calculate exact relations for the tachyonic scalar field. After that, we discuss our theoretical calculations graphically in order to interpret our theoretical results in a different way.

Current physics does not allow this and I have developed the following Theory which would thus complement the current Theory of General Relativity when we go to the limits of the reasoning. Current Theories like General Relativity or Quantum Mechanics are not impacted when the reasoning is not pushed to the limits. My reasoning at the limits just complements current Theories when the parameters take extreme values and thus the logic of current physics is respected.

The aim of this article is to present the phenomenon of stalkerism (a kind of illegal tourism) in the Chernobyl Exclusion Zone. The article investigates the specificity of the stalker experience through the concept of transgression (Kozielecki 2007). The article broadens the perspective on the tourism experience by using a psychological concept that has not so far been widely used in tourism studies, even though it refers to classic ideas (liminality, rites of passage, transformation). The genesis and specificity of the phenomenon of stalkerism in the context of the development of organized tourism in the Zone are presented. Then the transgressions of stalkers during exploration of the Zone are described. Lastly, the article shows how stalkerism contributes to the transformation of tourism and the development of the Zone’s heritage.
