Opis:
The electron-LO phonon coupling constant for double-barrier quantum well structure was calculated using the Frohlich model of the electron-phonon interaction and assuming coupling of the confined electron with bulk LO phonon mode. Magnitude of the Huang-Rhys factor g and possibility of detecting of phonon replicas in the resonant tunneling current are discussed for GaAs-Al$\text{}_{x}$Ga$\text{}_{1-x}$As and CdTe based structures.

Opis:
In this paper we present model calculations of the current-voltage characteristics for the CdTe/CdMgTe double barrier structures based on the assumption that the electron effective masses in the barrier and well regions of double barrier structure are different. The main features of the measured I-V characteristics, i.e., the small current peak at low bias and much larger peak at high voltage, are reproduced quite well by the calculated curve. The results of magnetotunneling experiments can be also understood in the frame of the proposed model.

Opis:
In this paper the resonant tunneling through the double barrier structure with the parabolic quantum well is studied theoretically. The transmission coefficient for such a structure as a function of applied voltage and the current-voltage characteristics are calculated and compared with those for the double barrier structure with the rectangular quantum well. The conclusion is that the resonant tunneling through parabolic double barrier structure can be used as a method of determination of the conduction band offset of the barrier and the well materials.

Opis:
In this paper we consider the influence of "mass barrier" and elastic scattering processes on the shape of j(V) and j(B) characteristics. Two scattering mechanisms, i.e. Coulombic on ionized impurities and on potential fluctuations in double-barrier structures are considered. The "mass barrier" shifts the whole j(V) characteristic slightly towards lower voltage and makes the resonant energy E$\text{}_{R}$ dependent on magnetic field. On the other hand, both considered scattering mechanisms change the shape of j(V) and j(B) characteristics by shifting the oscillation maxima towards lower applied voltage.

Opis:
The existing theory of the resonant tunneling phenomena in double-barrier structures takes into account the energy quantization in the well confined between the barriers only. In real tunneling structures there is another well, i.e., the accumulation well in the spacer region separating the highly doped region and the double-barrier structure. In the present paper the transmission coefficient for double-barrier structures with an accumulation layer as a function of applied voltage has been derived. The experimentally observed oscillations of the tunneling current can be explained by the obtained quantization of the energy spectrum in the accumulation well.

Opis:
The launch announcement of the construction of a new, futuristic, emission-free city in Saudi Arabia in the form of a 170-kilometer line – The Line – by Mohammed bin Salman, Crown Prince and Chairman of the Neom Company Board of Directors, aroused a discussion about ideal cities, the geometry of a linear city and its legitimacy. It provoked questions whether a city built in such a way could provide an appropriate answer to contemporary and future urban problems, as its authors and promoters expected. On this occasion, it is impossible not to refer to the urban history to look at similar ideas of linear cities and the attempts to implement them for over 150 years. Although it has not been possible to fully realize the linear city in accordance with the initial assumptions of the concept so far, today it may turn out that the utopia will become a reality. There are quite significant reasons for this. The aim of the article is to familiarize the reader with the contemporary interpretation of the idea of a linear city, which may become a compositional prototype for the urban planning of sustainable cities in the future.
Ogłoszenie rozpoczęcia budowy nowego, futurystycznego, bezemisyjnego miasta w Arabii Saudyjskiej w postaci 170-kilometrowego The Line, urbanistycznego układu liniowego Mohammeda bin Salmana, księcia koronnego i prezesa zarządu NEOM Company, wzbudziła dyskusję na temat miasta idealnego, jego geometrii oraz słuszności. Sprowokowało to także pytania, czy miasto zbudowane w ten sposób będzie właściwą odpowiedzią na współczesne i przyszłe problemy urbanistyki, jak przewidują to autorzy i entuzjaści projektu. W takich okolicznościach nie sposób pominąć historię urbanistyki, gdyż próbowano wprowadzić podobne rozwiązania przez ponad 150 lat. Pomimo, że dotychczas nie udało się w pełni zrealizować założeń miast linearnych według pierwotnych koncepcji, dziś okazuje się, że utopia może stać się rzeczywistością. Istnieją ku temu istotne przesłanki. Celem artykułu jest zapoznanie czytelnika ze współcześnie zinterpretowaną ideą miasta linearnego, które może stać się prototypem kompozycyjnym dla urbanistyki zrównoważonych miast w przyszłości.

Morphometric investigations (using the convergence analysis method) of geometric parameters of nuclei and nucleoli of transformed muscle cells were carried in mice 15 days, 30 days and 6 month after infection with T. spiralis larvae. The analysis showed the largest increase of investigated the parameters of 15th day after the infection. The results of morphometric analysis are in agreement with the morphologic, ultrastructural and histochemical observations (published in I and II part) as for as functional changes of muscle cells in various stages of trichinellosis are concerned.

Opis:
Synthetic oligonucleotides constitute an important class of compounds which can exhibit biological activity. As potential drugs they could be employed in antisense strategy by acting on the pathogenic mRNA, causing inactivation of the target molecules during the translation process [1]. Ideal antisense agent (ASO) should be resistant to exo and/or endonucleases, exhibit a suitable pharmacological and pharmacokinetic profile and exhibits high binding affinity towards the target mRNA. To improve some properties of the ASO plethora of the chemical modifications introduced within the nucleobase, sugar unit and internucleotide linkage are investigated [3]. Among them, phosphorothioate oligonucleotides (PS-oligo), created by replacing one of the nonbridging oxygen atoms with a sulfur atom, are the major representatives of DNA analogs. PS-oligo display several attractive features like nuclease resistance, activation of RNase H, and good pharmacokinetic properties [1]. Replacement of one of two nonbridging oxygens at phosphorus by sulfur induces asymmetry at the phosphorus atom. Hence, the synthesized oligo(nucleoside phosphorothioate) is a mixture of 2n diastereomers (where n is the number of internucleotide phosphorothioate functions). Therefore the actual biological activity of the P-chiral oligonucleotide analogues, (e.g., interactions with proteins or nucleic acids) may depend on stereochemical factors [7]. One has to keep in mind that the phosphoramidite [5] and H-phosphonate [32] methodologies (commonly used to prepare PS-oligo) are nonstereospecific and give a mixture of 2n diastereomers. Thus, various methods have been elaborated to synthesize these P-chiral oligonucleotide analogs in a stereocontrolled manner [15, 17], among them the oxathiaphospholane method developed by Stec et al. [18], the method utilizing nucleoside 3’-O-(3-N-acyl)oxazaphospholidine derivatives as monomer units [19], and the method based on a stereoselective synthesis of nucleoside 3’-O-oxazaphospholidine monomers [21, 22] are the most significant.

W obliczu złożoności gospodarki przestrzennej a także samego procesu planowania przestrzennego, konieczne jest poszukiwanie rozwiązań pozwalających na usprawnienie i zwiększenie przejrzystości procesów planistycznych. Określając potencjał narzędzi internetowych opartych na systemach geoinformacyjnych, autorzy artykułu przedstawili możliwości zastosowania geoankiety jako narzędzia wspierającego partycypację społeczną w planowaniu przestrzennym – zarówno w jej ustawowych, jak i pozaustawowych formach. W niniejszym artykule zaprezentowano sześć zastosowań geoankiety w Poznaniu i gminach podmiejskich, realizowanych w latach 2015-2016. Zwrócono uwagę na silne i słabe strony wdrażania narzędzi e-partycypacji w jednostkach samorządu terytorialnego oraz na możliwości i ograniczenia w tym zakresie z punktu widzenia praktyki planistycznej.
In the face of the complexity of urban planning, it is necessary to search for solutions improving and increasing transparency of planning processes. Defining the potential of online tools based on Geographic Information Systems (GIS), the authors of the paper presented the geo-questionnaire as a tool supporting public participation in urban planning – both in the statutory and non-statutory forms. In the paper six geo-questionnaire implementations carried out in the years 2015-2016 in Poznań and its metropolitan area have been analyzed, highlighting the strengths and weaknesses of the implementation of e-participation tools and the opportunities and limitations in the point of view of planning practices.
