This paper provides a comparative evaluation of the behaviour of long-term sovereign yields in Czechia, Hungary and Poland from 2001 to 2019. An affine term structure model developed by Adrian, Crump and Moench (2013) is used as an empirical framework for the decomposition of the bond yields into term premium and risk-neutral components. We document a substantial compression in term premia which started in Central European economies around 2013 and played a decisive role in the changes that occurred in 10-year sovereign yields. This pattern, however, was more prevalent in Czechia and Poland than in Hungary. We show that long-term rates in all three economies remained higher than in Germany due to relatively large risk-neutral components. Nevertheless, cross-country correlations became increasingly dependent on term premium dynamics, both among Central European economies and between each of them and Germany. These results are robust to bias-correction in the baseline models and interpreted in the light of the general interest rates decline in the global economy. Potential policy implications are also discussed.

The article is composed of four parts. The first part is about the difference between scientific and school terminology, the aim of which is to meet didactic aims adjusted to students’ age and cognitive abilities. This should meet the following conditions: 1) the condition of accessibility; 2) the condition of graduation of difficulty; 3) the condition of uniformity; 4) the systemic condition; 5) the condition of need and usefulness; 6) the condition of regularity; 7) the condition of clarity, and 8) the condition of illustration. In further sections, the author analyses the realization of particular conditions on the basis of the terminology included in manuals such as the manual for Polish language teaching in three consecutive stages of education. The last part contains an analysis of theefficacy of teaching terms at school on the example of students’ oral statements. The number of notions and terms used, as well as the way of defining them, shows that students cannot use the terms. According to the author, it is caused by both the contemporary linguistic reality and by not meeting the basic conditions concerning school terminology by the authors of manuals and teachers.

At Japanese universities, the standing of the humanities has declined considerably over the last two decades. This decline is reminiscent of Bill Readings’ account of American universities as articulated in his University in Ruins (1996). In Readings’ analysis, American universities are ‘ruined’ because they have abandoned their intrinsic cultural mission in a shift that greatly undermines the standing of the humanities. His recommendation in the American context of the time is the adoption of a certain rhythm of disciplinary attachment and detachment, such as giving more weight to short-term collaborative projects on the assumption that every collaboration has a certain half-life. The manner in which Japanese universities are dealing with the shift against the humanities is more complex than Readings’ recommendation. While the government’s policy makers favor short-term usefulness in a sense superficially similar to Readings’ recommendation, scholars in the humanities tend to insist that the usefulness of humanities is undeniable but needs to be evaluated on a longer timescale.

The paper aims to review the essential issues pertaining to the field of term phraseology, a linguistic discipline studying recurrent word combinations with a term, referred to as terminological phrases, and considered within a legal context. It outlines the genesis and theoretical underpinnings of term phraseology, noting that the latter need further elaboration. Also, I briefly present selected linguistic properties of terminological phrases that manifest their complexity, with a focus on verb-noun collocations (e.g. to subscribe for shares). The considerations that follow fall within the domain of legal linguistics and include references to selected research on phraseology in legal discourse. It is noted that legal phraseology lacks coherence. Particular attention is paid to the function and structure of term-embedding collocations, i.e. collocations which embed terms in the text. Last but not least, an attempt is made to address the significance of terminological phrases in legal communication and to indicate its various dimensions, such as conceptual, legal, cognitive, stylistic as well as related to competencies of language users. The discussion of the subject matter treated in the article is accompanied by examples in Polish and Spanish.

The objective of this paper is to evaluate, in light of statistical data, Poland's capacity for dynamic development in the future and its possibilities for the attainment of its ambitious economic and social goals. The analysis was based on the latest available data drawn primarily from Eurostat. They concern a number of EU countries, chosen as the reference countries in the paper. The Author discusses different measures for the evaluation of the economic and social processes to assess Poland's development opportunities in the coming years. For the sake of simplicity of presentation, the Author has divided the measures into short- and long-term indices. Short-term analysis shows that Poland is successful in the short run. Unfortunately, long-term indices, which are rarely discussed by the public, reveal a grim picture of the performance of Poland in comparison with the reference EU countries. The Author concludes that Poland is a country which does not pay much attention to its long-term socio-economic development.

The article analyzes the morphology and semantics of binary term-phrases and formation of genericspecies relationships during their creation. We have identified the basic prepositions that complement the characterizing function of the dependent component of phrase. The basic structures of consistent, radial, combined subordination in ternary term-phrases were determined. We discuss reasons of quasistability of the multicomponent term-phrases.

The aim of the paper is to examine the impact of environmental, social and corporate governance (ESG) responsibility on the short- and long-term cost of debt. Linear regression was applied to a unique dataset on CSR and cost of debt for 300 companies recognized in 2017 by Corporate Knights as the most sustainable companies in the world. The question about the link between CSR and cost of debt is important as there is still ongoing debate as to whether business should undertake activities in the field of CSR—managers and other stakeholders are still unsure of the outcomes. The findings show that the involvement in environmental issues decreases the cost of long-term debt whereas the involvement in social issues brings benefits to short- and long-term debt. Surprisingly the greater the involvement in corporate governance, the higher the cost of debt in all time horizons. Managers should expect a lower cost of debt from environmental and social activities mostly in the long run. Corporate governance expenditures may in turn be seen as a waste of company resources, cost of forgone opportunities, or—optionally—as an over-investment. The main novelty is the breakdown of CSR into three dimensions while examining various term structures of corporate debt.

W sytuacji kryzysowej wykorzystuje strategię komunikacji, której główne założenia opierają się o przekaz informacji prawdziwych, mówienia wspólnym głosem oraz zadośćuczynienia powstałego problemu. Proces realizacji komunikacji kryzysowej przedstawiono w ujęciu operacyjnym, organizacyjnym i instrumentalnym.
Issues of this article is devoted to issues of crisis communications in the automotive business, which is illustrated on the example of the experience of one of the leading companies in the industry - Toyota. The analysis presented highlights the efforts it has taken to maintain the reputation and good image in the eyes of consumers, shareholders and stakeholders of the market. In a crisis situation using communication strategy with the main assumptions are based on real information transfer, speaking with one voice and to redress the problem. The implementation of crisis communications is presented in terms of operational, organizational and instrumental.

Graph algebras establish a connection between directed graphs without multiple edges and special universal algebras of type (2,0). We say that a graph G satisfies an identity s ≈ t if the corresponding graph algebra A(G) satisfies s ≈ t. A graph G = (V,E) is called a transitive graph if the corresponding graph algebra A(G) satisfies the equation x(yz) ≈ (xz)(yz). An identity s ≈ t of terms s and t of any type t is called a hyperidentity of an algebra A̲ if whenever the operation symbols occurring in s and t are replaced by any term operations of A of the appropriate arity, the resulting identities hold in A̲ .
In this paper we characterize transitive graph algebras, identities and hyperidentities in transitive graph algebras.

The paper contains a review of the literature concerning memory abilities and human senses performance under different environmental circumstances. A number of studies indicated that environment has a significant impact on human senses functioning. It can affect it in a mechanical way, by a chronic exposure to potentially harmful substances or processes in different work environments. Also, some cognitive abilities that have evolved to perform evolutionary essential functions lost their importance because of the change of environment impact. Moreover, training can be a source of improvement of both human senses and cognitive abilities, as well. That might suggest that, while using, under different environmental circumstances different cognitive abilities develop. We take into a particular consideration human memory and its role, show current studies in this field and suggest new research directions.

Any business activity, regardless of whether it is a manufacturing, construction, commercial or service nature, requires financial commitment. One of the major challenges facing companies today is the difficulty in choosing the source of financing for the business. The choice of financing sources should primarily depend on the situation of company. In the case where an undertaking has limitations in financing activities in order to preserve liquidity, often uses external sources of financing. The most common form of external financing is a loan that is not always readily available to business entities, not because of high interest rates on loans but due the large financial restrictions applied by financial institutions. Enterprise finance management is a decision-making process subordinated to the achievement of a primary objective that is based on the use of various types of instruments, criteria, or rules to guide the processes of the enterprise. Money and fund come from a variety of sources, and different things may result in the achievement of the company's goals. The same money and fund can be used differently, while achieving better or worse economic results, making the proper management of its finances, including the appropriate choice of sources of funding as a key condition for the economic success of an enterprise is.
