The purpose of this paper is to introduce a new chaotic oscillator. Although different chaotic systems have been formulated by earlier researchers, only a few chaotic systems exhibit chaotic behaviour. In this work, a new chaotic system with chaotic attractor is introduced. It is worth noting that this striking phenomenon rarely occurs in respect of chaotic systems. The system proposed in this paper has been realized with numerical simulation. The results emanating from the numerical simulation indicate the feasibility of the proposed chaotic system. More over, chaos control, stability, diffusion and synchronization of such a system have been dealt with.

The paper deals with the issue of constructing delay lines on the basis of surface acoustic waves and their application to single-mode oscillators. As a result of a theoretical analysis concrete delay lines are proposed. In the contribution, there is presented a theory of designing a symmetrical mismatched and matched delay line for a single-mode oscillator of electrical signals on the basis of which there were designed and fabricated acoustic-electronic components for sensors of non-electrical quantities. From the experimental results it can be stated that all of six designed and fabricated delay lines can be effectively used in the construction of single-mode oscillators.

In this paper, a dynamical model of a spring-mass system with a single degree of freedom is proposed, which can be designed as a nonlinear supporting system for GVT of large scale aircraft and vibration isolation owing to stable-quasi-zero-stiffness (SQZS). The SQZS structure is constructed by a positive stiffness component and a pair of inclined linear springs providing negative stiffness, which is typical for an irrational restoring force due to geometrical configuration. The unperturbed analysis demonstrates complex equilibrium bifurcations and stabilities for this peculiar system, based upon which parameter optimizations are performed for SQZS and the maximum interval of low frequency. Furthermore, the dynamics analysis of the perturbed system near the optimized parameters reveals complicated behaviour of KAM structures, period doubling, chaos crisis, coexistence of multiple solutions, intermittency chaos, chaos saddle, etc. All those presented herein provide a better understanding for the complicated dynamics of SQZS nonlinear system.

W artykule przedstawiono wyniki analizy zmian częstotliwości oscylatora pierścieniowego, uzyskane poprzez zmianę miejsca lokowania pojedynczych bramek w różnych częściach struktury reprogramowalnej. Przeprowadzono symulacje komputerowe oraz wykonano badania eksperymentalne układu oscylatora pierścieniowego złożonego z N inwerterów, dla kilku wariantów rozmieszczenia bramek i wykorzystania linii połączeniowych pomiędzy obszarami CLBs. Układ oscylatora implementowano w strukturze FPGA (Spartan-3).
This paper presents the results of investigations how the inverter location in the area of a reconfigurable FPGA chip influence the properties of a ring oscillator. Ring oscillators are very often implemented in FPGA structures, even in the very advanced projects. They are used both as a single element or an array of sensors for measuring the chip temperature and thermal verification on reconfigurable systems [1, 2], as well as for measuring the propagation delay on the internal wires of the FPGA chip [3, 4]. In our investigation the ring oscillator composed of 11 inverters was implemented in the Spartan-3 structure (Fig. 1). There were performed simulations and experiments. We tested whether and how the location of the single inverter and the delay of lines influenced the ring oscillator frequency (Figs. 2 and 3). The properties of different connections between CLBs in the FPGA structure are described (Figs. 4 and 5). The ring oscillator was located in different areas of the chip to minimize or specially increase the length of lines between the inverters (Figs. 6, 7 and 8). The simulation and experiment results are presented in Tab. 1 and discussed. In conclusion we can state that when one wants to use a ring oscillator as a sensor and to analyze the frequency or delay times, there should be considered not only the influence of temperature or voltage supply of the chip core [8] but also the location of the sensor. In the case of an array of sensors, each ring oscillator should be analyzed and calibrated independently.

Singular network condition is proposed to study oscillators. It states that a circuit is a potential oscillator if and only if the rank of the network matrix of size n X n is (n -1) at the frequency of oscillations. The dual (if it exists) and adjoint circuit of an oscillator are also oscillators. Limitations of Barkhausen’s approach are pointed out. It is explained that there are many ways to generate oscillations other than Barkhausen’s positive feedback configuration. The new approach emphasizes that appropriate D C inputs / initial conditions are important.

The smooth and discontinuous (SD) oscillator is a strongly nonlinear system with an irrational restoring force proposed in P.R.E (2006), which leads to barriers for the conventional methods to investigate the dynamical behaviour directly. In this paper, two kinds of irrational elliptic functions and a kind of hyperbolic functions are defined in the real domain to formulate the analytical solutions of the system. The properties of the functions are obtained including differentiability, periodicity and parity. As the application of the defined irrational functions, the chaotic thresholds of the oscillator are also depicted by using the Melnikov method. Numerical analysis shows the efficiency of the proposed procedure.
Oscylator typu gładkiego i nieciągłego (smooth and discontinuous— SD) jest silnie nieliniowym układem mechanicznym z niewymierną siłą restytucyjną opisaną przez P.R.E. w 2006 r. Jej charakter stanowi barierę dla konwencjonalnych metod badania dynamiki oscylatorów SD w sposób bezpośredni. W pracy zdefiniowano dwa rodzaje niewymiernych funkcji eliptycznych i jeden typ hiperbolicznych w dziedzinie liczb rzeczywistych do wyznaczenia rozwiązań analitycznych rozważanego układu. Właściwości tych funkcji obejmują różniczkowalność, okresowość i parzystość. Tak sformułowanych funkcji, jako przykład ich zastosowania, uzyto do określenia zakresów występowania drgań chaotycznych oscylatora przy wykorzystaniu metody Mielnikowa. Symulacje numeryczne potwierdziły efektywność zaproponowanej metody.

In this paper, analysis and design of colpitts oscillator with ability to transmit data at low output power with application in short-range wireless sensor networks such as MICS is described. Reducing the area required to implement the transmitter, on-chip implementation and appropriate energy efficiency are the advantages of this structure that makes it suitable for the design of short-range transmitter in biomedical applications. The proposed OOK transmitter works at 405MHz with 10 Mbps data rate. Output power and total power consumption are 25 μW and 726 μW, respectively. Energy efficiency is 72.6 pJ/bit. The transmitter has been designed and simulated in 0.18 μm CMOS technology.

In the paper, a multi-zone signal graph is constructed that corresponds to the structure of the ink printing system and reflects the process of circulating the direct and reverse ink flows. A mathematical model of the ink printing system of a sequential -parallel structure with two oscillator cylinders was developed, which describes the process of ink distribution and its transfer by elements of the ink printing system from the ink feeder device to the imprints. The model details the mathematical description of the work mode of the oscillator cylinders and the ink feeder device. On the basis of the mathematical model and the signal graph, a simulator of the ink printing system is constructed in Matlab-Simulink environment. Checking the validity of the simulation model and, accordingly, the mathematical model is based on the balance of ink's supply and selection. Based on the models of the ink printing system components, information technology is developed which makes it possible to investigate the process of ink transfer at different work modes of the oscillator cylinders. The research and analysis of the effect by the change in the value of the axial stroke of each oscillator cylinders on the ink flow distribution on the imprints at various densities of form filling with the printing elements were carried out.

Opis:
Zns thin films are obtained by flash evaporation method onto preheated glass substrates. The transmittance analysis allowed the determination of refractive index and thickness using envelope method. It was found that the refractive dispersion data obeyed the single oscillator model. The calculated value of the refractive index (n0 ) was found to be equal to 2.27, which is in a good agreement with the value obtained from Cauchy’s fitting. Also the value of the optical energy gap, extinction coefficient, real and imaginary parts of the dielectric constant and optical conductivity have been measured.

In this article the periodic signal detection method on the base of Duffing system chaotic oscillations analysis is presented. This work is a development of the chaos-based signal detection technique. Generally, chaos-based signal detection is the detection of chaotic-to-periodic state transition under input periodic component influence. If the in¬put periodic component reaches certain threshold value, the system transforms from chaotic state to periodic state. The Duffing-type chaotic systems are often used for such a signal detection purpose because of their ability to work in chaotic state for a long time and relatively simple realization. The main advantage of chaos-based signal detection methods is the utilization of chaotic system sensitivity to weak signals. But such methods are not used in practice because of the chaotic system state control problems. The method presented does not require an exact system state control. The Duffing system works continuously in chaotic state and the periodic signal detection process is based on the analysis of Duffing system Poincare map fractal structure. This structure does not depend on noise, and therefore the minimum input signal-to-noise ratio required for periodic signal detection is not limited by chaotic system state control tolerance.

We present a method and results of measurements of FPGA (Field Programmable Gate Array) selected timing parameters crucial in many timing sensitive applications such as precise time and frequency metrology. Two main parameters, i.e. the delay and its jitter, were evaluated for look-up-tables (delay 740 ps/jitter 1.33 ps), IO buffers (na/0.45 ps) and carry-chain multiplexers (28ps/0.153 ps) integrated in a programmable device Spartan-6 (Xilinx) which is one of most popular FPGA chips on the market now. Measurements were performed with the use of fast real-time sampling oscilloscope.

The oscillatory behaviour of a nitrobenzene liquid membrane oscillator containing benzyldimethyltetradecylammonium chloride was investigated in order to recognize the oscillation mechanism. The influence of temperature and electrode distances from the interfaces as well as the donor, membrane and acceptor phase composition on the changes of electric potential difference between aqueous phases was examined. The effect of the surfactant structure on the oscillation characteristics was discussed. It was shown that the appearance of oscillations requires the simultaneous presence of surfactant, picric acid and ethanol in the system. The mechanism of oscillations in this system should be similar as the one in an oscillator containing hexadecyltrimethylammonium bromide where oscillations of electric potential difference between the two aqueous phases are produced by sudden adsorption and desorption of the surfactant and the ionic pair: a surfactant-picric anion at the a/m interface. The diffusion fluxes of all these species in the vicinity of a/m interface also play an important role. They might couple, which leads to the nonlinear behaviour of the system. The oscillation curves obtained for the liquid membrane oscillator with benzyldimethyltetradecylammonium chloride and different taste substances were analyzed by the construction of the corresponding attractors in two-dimensional space using the time delay method. Each system has its own attractor differing in shape and surface. Therefore, these properties might be used for identifying an unknown taste substance present in the acceptor phase.

Opis:
Oscillations of electrochemical potential difference between donor and acceptor aqueous phases of nitrobenzene oscillator containing hexadecyltrimethylammonium bromide were observed. It was shown that this potential difference is composed of two–phase boundary potentials between a membrane and an appropriate aqueous phase. It appears that oscillations occur at an aqueous acceptor/membrane interface. They are caused by adsorption/desorption processes of surfactant ions pairs with bromide or picrate followed by their transfer to the acceptor phase. The processes taking part in three stages of oscillation mechanism were suggested.
