Opis:
This paper focuses on the preschool education system in England. It is an attempt to present the most important information, institutions and programs in English childcare and early education. It looks at good monitoring ideas implemented in the everyday running of nurseries: the Parental Webcam and CCTV. The Parental Webcam gives parents the opportunity to „drop in” via internet at any time and see their child in the nursery. Not surprisingly, given the option, most parents would now choose a nursery that has a Parental Webcam installed. CCTV gives maximum protection and security for staff and children in the nursery and other childcare environments. Also presented are the main principles of the Early Years Foundation Stage programme, which is the base of all Early Years Learning and Childcare. Nurseries in Poland would benefit from adopting some of these ideas, such as the monitoring technology.

While reviewing the modern theoretical framework of Bulgarian preschool education and some significant reforms in preschool education in Slovakia, the current paper presents the contemporary situation of preschool education in Bulgaria and Slovakia and considers some converging points between them, but some differences as well. Since having a university education for future kindergarten teachers is influencing their future pedagogical interaction with children, the university level preparation of future kindergarten teachers is also detailed.

Celem artykułu jest przedstawienie metod aktywizujących wykorzystywanych w nauczaniu przedszkolnym oraz wskazanie ich głównych zalet. Opracowanie artykułu poprzedziło studium literatury dotyczącej dydaktyki ogólnej i roli nauczyciela w rozwoju aktywności dziecka metod aktywizujących i ich wykorzystania na poziomie edukacji przedszkolnej. W artykule odniesiono się do przeprowadzonych wśród nauczycieli wychowania przedszkolnego z województwa warmińsko-mazurskiego wyników badań własnych, których celem było poznanie opinii nauczycieli przedszkoli na temat przydatności i stopnia wykorzystania metod aktywizujących w procesie edukacyjnym, a także zalet i częstotliwości ich stosowania w pracy z dziećmi w wieku przedszkolnym.
The aim of the article is to present the activating methods used in preschool education and to indicate their main advantages. The preparation of the article was preceded by a literature study on general didactics and the role of a teacher in the development of a child’s activity of activating methods and their use at the pre-school level. The article refers to the results of own research conducted among teachers of pre-school education from the Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship, the aim of which was to find out the opinions of kindergarten teachers on the usefulness and degree of use of activating methods in the educational process, as well as the advantages and frequency of their use in working with children in preschool age.

Aim. The aim of the study is to find out students’ perspectives on the necessity, readiness and disturbing factors of implementing musical activities in preschool. The theoretical part of the paper describes the particularity of preschool teachers’ work, the children’s interest in musical activities, and the benefits of implementing musical activities in preschool.  Method. The empirical study involved 168 students (N=168), of which 132 students (N=132) are already working as preschool teachers in parallel with their study at the university. The study identified three questions: why do preschool teachers use musical activities? What factors prevent a preschool teacher from using musical activities? Is there a relationship between the competence of a preschool teacher in the field of music and the implementation musical activities in preschool? In order to answer the study questions, a questionnaire consisting of twelve statements was created, which had to be assessed on a four-point Likert scale. Results and conclusion. As a result of the analyses of the data obtained in the study, it was ascertained that preschool teachers use musical activities to make children happy and improve their abilities. The use of musical activities is connected with preschool teacher’s willingness to do that. One of the key factors that hinder the implementation of musical activities is an insufficient material base in the preschool. The study also found that there is a correlation between the competence of a preschool teacher in the field of music and the implementation of musical activities.

As stated by Klim- -Klimaszewska, “preschool education in Poland is the first stage of education system. Its main task is not only to help parents in mentoring and education of children, but first of all to stimulate their comprehensive development and school preparation” (Klim-Klimaszewska, 2012, p. 9). At the level of preschool education we observed multidimensional transformations that aimed at new approach to the theory and paradigms of education, which serves improvement of effectiveness of children’s education.

In this paper we would like to highlight the current developments in the field of arts pedagogy in the context of wider trends in the philosophical and psychological thinking, which points to the the most significant aims of arts education, but which in teaching practice has still not been sufficiently accepted. At the same time, the paper aims to draw attention to a very effective and unique concept as proposed by the Slovak composer and pedagogue Juraj Hatrík. This musical-pedagogical method very effectively solves the identified problems of musical pedagogy, starting at the elementary level, where he addressed mainly conceptual and methodical questions. Allmost all projects and methodologies of that are proven and effective in practice.

The teacher profession can be rated among professions with high risk of health loss both in the physical (somatic) and mental sense. This is evidenced by statistics on the health assessment of a fairly large teaching community. Numerous structural changes (educational reforms) and an increase in professional expectations towards teachers, especially preschool teachers, have caused a significant increase in the stress experienced by them. This article is devoted to the problem of stress in the professional work of a preschool teacher. The most important factors causing stress reactions, as well as pressures that are the source of stress are identified and discussed in this paper. On their basis, the level of occurrence and circumstances of experiencing school stress are determined. Thirty full-time teachers working in kindergartens in rural and urban environments in the Opolskie Voivodeship were surveyed.
Zawód nauczyciela można chyba zaliczyć do profesji o dużym ryzyku utraty zdrowia – zarówno w sensie fizycznym (sfera somatyczna), jak i psychicznym. Świadczą o tym statystyki dotyczące oceny zdrowotności dość dużej zbiorowości nauczycieli. Liczne zmiany strukturalne (reformy oświaty) oraz wzrost oczekiwań zawodowych wobec nauczycieli – zwłaszcza wychowania przedszkolnego – spowodowały wyraźne nasilenie doświadczanego przez nauczycieli stresu. Niniejszy artykuł poświęcony jest problemowi stresu w pracy zawodowej nauczyciela wychowania przedszkolnego. Omówiono i wyodrębniono w nim najważniejsze czynniki wywołujące reakcje stresowe, jak również zidentyfikowano presje będące źródłem stresu. Na ich podstawie określono poziom występowania oraz okoliczności przeżywania stresu szkolnego. Badaniami sondażowymi objęto 30 nauczycieli etatowych, pracujących w przedszkolach w środowisku wiejskim i miejskim na terenie województwa opolskiego.

W artykule przedstawiono neoliberalne uwikłania edukacji przedszkolnej w oparciu o realizowany obecnie we wrocławskich przedszkolach projektu „Przedsiębiorczy Przedszkolak”. Dokonano krytycznej analizy założeń projektu, ujawniając ideologiczne mechanizmy procesu komercjalizacji świata życia dziecka, czyli wczesnego socjalizowania do efektywnego funkcjonowania w ramach rynku konsumpcyjnego.
In this article I address a phenomenon that I call “neo-liberal entanglements” of preschool education, clearly observable in the project “Enterprising Preschooler” currently underway in Wroclaw's preschools. I provide a critical analysis of the project, exposing the ideological mechanisms that contribute to the commercialization of children’s life worlds and their early socialization into the mechanisms of market consumerism.

If we want to understand how children in preschool period build their ideas of mathematical concepts, we must explore the educational environment, i.e. situations that are organized in kindergarten, and the role of children and the educator in them. This paper focuses on identification of the phenomena that accompany the process of “evolution” of mathematical concepts in a preschool child’s cognition in the environment of institutional preschool education. The basic methodological approach to the research was the grounded theory. Using axial coding the various subcategories were identified within the frame of the so called paradigmatic model according to Strauss and Corbin (1999). On their basis a model of a didactical situation in the environment of a kindergarten was developed. The theoretical framework was Brousseau’s Theory of Didactical Situations.

Włochy przez bardzo długi okres nie interesowały się edukacją dzieci. Pierwsze centrum opieki nad nimi zostało założone w 1828 roku w Cremonie przez ks. Ferrante Aportiego. W latach 1895–1917 kolejną instytucję otworzyły siostry Agazzi w Nave, niewielkiej prowincji Bresci. Dzieci, którymi się zajmowały, pochodziły z bardzo trudnego środowiska. Założycielki powtarzały młodym nauczycielkom, że ich zadanie jest delikatne i często angażujące wszystkie osobiste zasoby, wymagając przy tym fizycznej energii, niezłomnych postaw i silnego charakteru. Według Agazzi, nauczycielka powinna być przygotowana do spełniana z pokorą zadań, bez okazywania w obecności dzieci oznak niechęci. Agazzi w pracy z dziećmi wykorzystywały proste i powszechnie używane materiały, dziecko mogło tworzyć od zera i robić coś samodzielnie własnymi rękoma i wykorzystując wyobraźnię. Czynności, które dziś potocznie nazywamy robótkami ręcznymi, miały wielką wartość edukacyjną. Towarzyszyły dziecku w odkrywaniu świata, kształtując umiejętność budowania i coraz bardziej świadomego tworzenia. Zabawa wszystkim tym, co naturalne, oferowała dziecku możliwość pełnego wyrażania swojej kreatywności. Również porządkowanie, mycie rąk – były idealnym sposobem na zabawę i naukę. W taki sposób powstała „rupieciarnia”. Metoda ta okazała się wielkim sukcesem i zaczęła być stosowana w wielu przedszkolach na terenie Włoch.
Italy was not interested in children’s education for a very long time. The first center for them was founded in 1828 in Cremona by Fr. Ferrante Aporti. In the years 1895-1917, another institution was opened by the Agazzi sisters in Nave, a small province of Brescia. The children they dealt with came from a very difficult environment. They told young teachers that their job was delicate and often involved all personal resources, requiring physical energy, attitudes and strong character. According to Agazzi, the teacher should be prepared to perform humbly her work without showing signs of resentment in the presence of children. Agazzi used poor and commonly materials when working with children, the child could create from scratch and do something independently with his own hands and imagination. Those which we colloquially call „needlework” today had great educational value. They accompanied the child in discovering the world through the ability to build and create more consciously. Playing with everything that was natural offered the child the opportunity to fully express his creativity. Organizing and washing hands was also an ideal way to have fun and learn. This is how was created „Rupieciarnia”. This method proved to be a great success and began to expand in many kindergartens in Italy.

Objectives: In the interwar period, educational magazines played a huge role in popularizing the latest concepts and didactic solutions. In the years 1918-1939, several titles were addressed to pre-school educators. In this group, "Preschool Education" can be considered as one of the most important magazines. His main tasks included improving teachers' professional competences and disseminating the achievements of Polish and world pedagogical thought. On the pages of the magazine, much attention was paid to the issue of mathematical education of a small child. These publications were substantive support for pre-school educators at the time. Material and methods: analysis of source texts Results: On the pages of the "Preschool Education" (1925-1939) magazine, many articles can be found in the field of mathematical education of a small child, constituting significant substantive support for pre-school educators in the interwar period. Conclusions: The text is a short presentation of articles in the field of mathematics education published in the journal "Preschool Education" (1925-1939).

Znaczącym wyzwaniem dla współczesnej pedagogiki przedszkolnej jest konieczność integralnej edukacji, przyjętej za przewodnią ideę wszelkich oddziaływań pedagogicznych. Wyzwanie to nie jest nowością zarówno dla przedszkolnej pedagogiki, jak i pedagogii – obie bowiem w swej najgłębszej istocie wyrastają z idei integralności i ideę tę realizują w różnorodnych formach i zakresach. Integralny charakter pedagogiki przedszkolnej w jej podstawowych założeniach implikuje tożsame odniesienia w obrębie przedszkolnej pedagogii, znajdując odzwierciedlenie w całej działalności przedszkola. Treści edukacji zakładają oprócz dostarczania dzieciom wiedzy o świecie i rozwijania ich sprawności intelektualnej również kształtowanie sprawności fizycznej i postaw prozdrowotnych, budzenie postaw prospołecznych zarówno w odniesieniu do rodziny, wspólnoty, jak też szerszych grup społecznych, wprowadzanie w świat wartości estetycznych, kształtowanie sfery emocjonalnej i kompetencji moralnych. Integracja treści edukacji opiera się więc o zasadę wielostronności, dbałości o właściwe relacje składników treści oraz doboru tychże treści z różnych dziedzin wychowania. Analiza współczesnej problematyki integralności człowieka dowodzi jednak, że w obszarach pedagogiki i pedagogii przedszkolnej pomija się niezwykle istotny wymiar człowieka – jego wymiar duchowy. Prezentowany artykuł stanowi próbę praktycznych odniesień do współczesnej pedagogii przedszkolnej w aspekcie stymulowania duchowego rozwoju dziecka jako sfery życiowej przestrzeni, pozwalającej mu na realizowanie własnego człowieczeństwa.
The necessity of integral education, accepted as a leading idea for all pedagogical interactions, is an important challenge for modern preschool education. This challenge is not new both for preschool education and pedagogy which have their deepest origins in the idea of integrity and realise it in different forms and scopes. An integral character of preschool education, based on its main assumptions, implies similar references to preschool pedagogy, as reflected in the entire activity of kindergartens. Education contents assumes that, besides coming to knowledge on the world and developing their intellectual skills, children also work on their physical abilities and health-oriented attitudes, learn some prosocial behaviours with reference to family, community and bigger social groups, they are acquainted with the world of aesthetic values and shape their emotional and moral competences. Thus, integration of education contents is based on the rule of variability, care for proper relations of the contents and their selection from different educational fields. However, an analysis of the issues related to the modern human integrity proves that we often forget about a very important dimension – the spiritual one – in the fields of preschool pedagogy and education. The presented article is an effort to make practical references to modern preschool education in the aspect of stimulation of children’s spiritual development as the part of their life space which allows them to realise their own humanity.

The primary aim of this article is to present the validation process of the SEPRES questionnaire to measure the self-efficacy of students in a preschool education programme. After the generation of the questionnaire items for the item pool, the items were content validated, and then they underwent an exploratory factor analysis with data from 154 respondents to determine the construct validity of the questionnaire. Four factors were extracted after using Principal axis factoring with Oblimin rotation. The factors are Children involvement, Behaviour elimination, Professional collaboration and Credibility building, and they have Alphas ranging from 0.769 to 0.903. Inter-correlation among dimensions ranged from 0.419 to 0.681, indicating that SEPRES is a consistent research instrument.
